Except for Christine perhaps, Kody is the only one in the immediate circle who gives a shit about health/fitness. Dude looks like he works at it. 

Sorry to give him credit, but the wives could at least TRY.

In the new opening there is a pic of Kody standing with his hands on his hips with a big gut, perhaps an 8-month sympathy belly from when Robyn was pregnant with King Sol or Areola, but he has since lost the baby weight.  His comment about losing 10 lbs due to the move suggests that he may be the type of person who loses weight due to stress, whereas others tend to gain weight.

In that scene where Kodoofus was standing on the very top of a ladder at Robyn's rental fiddling with a gutter that looked perfectly fine, Robyn was holding the ladder and looked ~6 months pregnant. Maybe she did have a miscarriage or stillbirth.

In this week's episode I was looking at Janelle's unfortunate shape since she didn't exactly hide it as well as in seasons past.  She is shaped like a butternut squash - thinner on top and then like a bell on the bottom.  Her front midsection hangs like at least some of it is flaccid skin hanging from a combination of having so many kids and perhaps losing a few pounds.  Looking at the way she carries her weight, losing weight of course would help but it wouldn't address the excess hanging bits.  I think that even if she lost weight she would still need plastic surgery in that area to remove that excess baggage.

Janelle looked her best since the show started, at that phony commitment ceremony they had.  I think she was working out with a trainer then.  I wonder why that all went by the wayside.

Janelle has been obese for many years. Yet, she continues to blather on about all these fitness and weight loss strategies that clearly do not work for her. If I gain 10 pounds I really feel it~ I cannot imagine lugging that pendulous abdomen around. I wish Janelle would see a bariatric specialist.

I agree.  And I can speak because I am also over weight.  About 50-60 pounds more than I should be.  Not as large as Janelle.  But it will still take me at least 6-12 months to lose it.  All those weight loss strategies that you speak of is why she cant lose.  Like the coffee with the fat or ghee in it.  You can drink several of those a day and expect to lose weight.  Same with nuts and seeds, while a healthy addition, only a serving a few times a week.  Otherwise you will pack on the pounds.  

 

I think she is looking for an easy quick plan that requires not a lot of effort.  Don't get me wrong I think she has made some positive changes in her diet.  But I'm sure she is just like me, carbs of the grain or starchy types should be avoided and most dairy.  Carbs are what add that fat layer around the middle.  Lots of non starchy low carb veggies, modest amounts of lean protein, and a small amount of healthy fat.  Mostly eating less than you burn off.  It also has to be a lifestyle change.  Even when all the weight is gone, you still have to continue eating the same way.

And it's a lifelong commitment as well.  Janelle can't commit to anything for more than 20 minutes from what we've seen and read in her posts.

We’ve hit the main issue with Janelle: lifelong commitment and change. 

Janelle tries something and then quits, then repeats the cycle of failure and looking for a miracle. I have to say, she’s incredibly ignorant and uneducated for someone who’s had years to learn this stuff.

I'd like to see that as well but I don't think Janelle has the type of discipline it takes plus the bariatric patients usually need help for a while after the surgery... who would help Janelle?

Maddie doesn't live there plus she already has her hands full and there's no way in hell that any of her sister wives or Kootie would look after her.

Once again where's all that "all for one, one for all" spirit when it comes to anyone but Kootie and Robyn?

Her mother is still alive, AFAIK.  She was married (spiritually, I think) to Kody's dad. I don't ever remember Janelle talking about her father or any siblings.

So. According to wikapedia, Janelle was born in 1969.  I know darn well that I heard her make a comment at some point on the show or an interview about how "Kody is far more emotionally involved with his kids than her father was with her".  How would she remember emotional involvement if he passed when she was 3?  Did her mother remarry?

As for siblings she isn't real up front with her family past her mother.  All she really ever says is that she didn't have a big wedding reception after marrying Kody because it had to be so hush hush and since she converted to the "cult" mormon group most all of her family and friends had disowned her.

I think her father died while she was living apart from the  family. When she inherited money from her dad, that is when Kodouche wooed her back into the fold and she used the money to buy the Lehi house. I read somewhere she was not close to her father while he was alive.

I believe that Bonnie was one of 5 wives and that Meri was one of 25 siblings in her family.  That may offer some explanation to Meri's reluctance to give up the HBIC position.  For the first time in her life, she had control over something.

Janelle's bio-dad died when she was three, but she did have a stepfather growing up, before her mother Sheryl married Kody's Dad. Kody's mother was named Genielle, which is presumably pronounced like Janelle.  I think the money she inherited came from her grandmother or an aunt.

I've read that nuts get a bad rap because recent studies are showing that they don't lead to weight gain in moderation despite having high amounts of fat.  I've added them as a daily healthy "whole food" snack and think they have actually helped me maintain my weight.  This article recommends eating about an ounce of nuts a day.  I often eat a little more than that and have not noticed any weight gain.

I think the problem with Janelle is that she has a very hard time losing weight even when she puts everything into it and so she has given up for the most part.  She makes a show of trying to find a "magic solution" but deep down I don't think she believes anything will ever work.  I feel her pain because I too have an unbelievably hard time losing weight no matter what diet I follow or how religiously I follow it, with or without exercise, and it doesn't get easier as I get older!  Thankfully I am nowhere near her size but I still need to lose about 30 lbs. to be where I want to be.  I suspect that if she and Kootie had any sexual chemistry left at all she might have an incentive to slim down, sort-of like Christine did.  Christine looks much happier and confident about herself since her weight loss.  I lost 30 lbs. in 2017-18 and have kept it off, and feel much better about myself but I still have a ways to go.  In my case it has re-ignited things with Mr. Yeah No.  I wish Janelle could experience that, but I have often felt that she and Kody never had much real chemistry in the first place.

Is this photo of dirty dishes, new merchandise, electronics, newspaper etc. a "before" or "after" photo?  Silly me, Janelle is not going to clean or organize anything.

House cleaning and organizing is good exercise and yes, the results will lift your spirits.  If the three dishes/utensils are not all yours, Janelle, why haven't you trained Savannah & Gabe to clean up after themselves ???

That photo looks staged to me.  The 2 bowls and plate have no food residue in them, I refuse to believe that Janelle's cooking is so good that they lick the platters clean.

Funny how neither Robyn nor Christine had to.

I love Robyn's defense that Kody is just spread so thin, and so tired. Um....yeah tired from moving all your stuff Robyn that he couldn't even bother with Janelle's.

Kody is the King of making everything 10 times harder than it has to be just so he can claim exhaustion and recline daintily on someone's fainting couch, a cool cloth over his frizzy head and a fan at his side, composing himself until the next non-event that leaves him drained and unable to function.  Remember when it took him an entire day and several car trips hunting for the proper tools to hang a tv on Janelle's wall, only to find out that everything he needed was already at Janelle's?  As Robyn is to fake tears, Kody is to acting as if he's doing all he can when in actuality he's doing next to nothing.  Those two deserve each other.

I suspect they ALL ended up using moving companies, once the cameras were off. It was just all for show. 
I also suspect that the piano was borrowed/rented for the purpose of having a large unwieldy item to pretend to move. I don't EVER recall seeing a piano in Janelle's home - it would have pride of place in the living room, otherwise, I would think. Of course I don't watch the show that often so I might have missed it.

I’m too lazy to go look for it, but there was a photo of Christmas stockings all hung on a piano and not the hearth next to it...wasn’t that at Janelle’s?

I did see them moving a piano, I thought it was Meri's, maybe they both have one.  In any case, they contradict themselves because when at the luncheon, they said that Janelle hired movers for her heavy stuff.

When they were living in 4 rentals in LV, all we ever saw was Kody frantically gathering a few dirty clothes, stuffing them in a satchel, running to his 2-seater sports car, driving over to the next wifey's house.  And he was always missing some article of clothing - no socks or no undies or no clean shirt, so next wifey had to do his laundry.  Half of each show would be Kootie in the driveway, in the garage, in the kitchen, back out to the car, into the front hall - it was exhausting to watch.
