Whoopi on the other hand probably just got some good weed yesterday and didn't feel like coming in.  I don't think she would let BillO scare her off now, she's been dealing with him for years.

Now Cosmo, you know very well that Whoopi was up late into the night working Twitter like a dog trying to promote the premiere of her daughter's reality show!  She was just too tired to come to work today /snort/.

For anyone who doesn't understand the joke, go read the last couple of posts in Whoopi's personal thread here. She was over that shit and in bed by 10:30 pm.

There is no voluntary on a football team...... the coach is an employee of the government.... and government lead prayer is unconstitutional.

Prayer is not banned in school.... school lead prayer is banned.... lots of prayer goes on at test time.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Wouldn't it be interesting if this Coach was a Muslim and he said it was "voluntary" for the football team to pray Islamic Prayers...... I bet those Christian Hosts would have been just fine with that. (sarcasm)

Good post.  This is the first time I have watched with CCB on.   How obnoxious.  Only 33% of the world population is Christian.  Religion is a personal guidance tool, keep it to yourself.

It was just a rumor, as I said, and Joy is indeed not there all the time as well as rarely with CCB. Just my take on it.

Thanks for the response maggiemae.  I thought I had missed some official word.  Of course official word from The View means next to nothing most of the time.

If you start watching at the 20 second mark of this clip from The Carmichael Show it was exactly what I thought of when Sherri opened her mouth about school prayer. I think the clip on YouTube of this on the show's official account was made private sometime recently so I had to find it on another site and it won't let me embed it. So if you don't mind clicking to watch here it is.

If the ratings had been stellar for Whoopi's daughter's show, Whoopi would've been there to give herself a pat on the back. She's a lot like Trump. She actually believes she's extremely popular and she could bring in big numbers simply by having her name associated with the project when really it's a small segment buying that crap.

I have no idea how much education Raven had, or doesn't have, but I've known a lot of highly educated people who come off as totally stupid. But Raven is pathetic, and I just can't understand why the bigwigs don't put the clamps to her. Force her to prepare for upcoming shows, or have her watch previous shows and point out all her mistakes and stupid comments. How will she learn unless someone grows a set and points out her deficiencies?

If Whoopie and Joy did fake out not being there today, it was a stupid move on both their parts. Raking BO over the coals is must see TV.

The hosts flipping and flopping is starting to piss me off. We get a nice panel with Joy, another one with Whoopi the angry sage and today's JV panel of mostly morons. I get The View is trying to find the best panel and hopefully that will not include Whoopi but today's really stunk.

I couldn't watch today either. The theme song came on and all I could think was that O'Reilly was going to be on and I have to keep my blood pressure in check.

Couple things, I think Joy is considered a regular cohost based on the fact that at the beginning she is given her own spot in the intro. So she is a regular.

I happened to see Ron Reagan, Jr. on a clip from Bill Maher's show. He flat out said that O'Reilly's new book on Killing Reagan was filled with total BS about his father. That O'Reilly didn't have a clue. So I was afraid that he was going to be blabbing about his book and I would be screaming at the TV.

Prayer in school at games, graduations etc? I have personal experience with that one. My son was graduating from a public school. There was going to be a prayer led by the principal or some other school employee. Can't remember who. Anyway, my son started a petition to get fellow grads to sign to protest the school sponsored/led prayer. He had earlier in the semester declined a group led prayer and when he asked afterwards if they got what they prayed for... they told him "we prayed for you." Straw meet camel's back.

Anyway, a ton of the students signed the protest letter. So, the faculty held a vote for whether a prayer would be said and led by one of the students at the ceremony. The vote was overwhelmingly no but the faculty overruled it and there was a student led prayer which was an end run around the law. If a student leads a prayer then they can get away with it. My son was threatening to walk out during the prayer but cooler heads prevailed and he gritted his teeth and sat silently.

Candace has a really grating, strident voice.

I also didn't appreciate her big put-upon sigh before she "educated" everyone on the Constitution's separation of church and state clause. It was the verbal equivalent of an eyeroll at the idiots she's forced to be around. Bad form for anyone, but particularly for a newbie.

I didn't have anything against her before she came on the show, but I'm getting a real self-righteous close-minded Duggaresque vibe from her.

First, the audience keeps applauding every time anyone said "the power of prayer".  Michelle starts to say something about "what if there was a Muslim at the school?"  and she is shouted down by everyone talking over her.

Bill O comes out, the audience goes wild, they make the point that he got a standing ovation.  the audience seemed to LOVE LOVE LOVE anything he said.

what is this show?  why do I watch?

And while I'm asking questions, Sherri -  didn't you write a DIET book ???  Maybe you need to take a look at it.

Anyone can just get up and leave when a coach leads a team prayer?  Oh really?  Would this be the same coach that can allow college recruiters on the field and perhaps let you play or not?  Not buying it.  Any coach that thinks prayer helps his team is the same coach who will make something happen or not.

I happened to see Ron Reagan, Jr. on a clip from Bill Maher's show. He flat out said that O'Reilly's new book on Killing Reagan was filled with total BS about his father. All of his books have been slammed for bs.

Raven when one is assassinated they are dead....otherwise it is an attempted assassination. And what does "some people in the industry blame Katrina on W?" Your industry? How about most people of all walks of life, blame W for not reacting sooner and for his fly-over of NOLOA.

These are the exact two things I was going to post about.  Yes, assassinated means not just an attempt - It means the person was killed.  She could have simply misspoken, but I'm not willing to chalk it up to that because she misspeaks about a whole lot of things.  All the damn time.

And I am starting a drinking game with her "in the industry" nonsense.  She throws that in every chance she gets.  And what on earth does that have to do with Katrina?  Only people in the industry felt that way?  Or are they the only people she knows, or wants us to think she knows?  OMG, she is unsufferable.  So full of herself, and it never ever crosses her mind that she might be wrong, that someone may know more than she does, and that her opinion is not any more valid than anyone else.  I laugh at how ignorant she is every day.  Raven, you are NOT fooling me.  Not one little bit.

Candace has a really grating, strident voice.

I've been saying this since the first time I heard her speak as an adult.  I'm very sensitive to voices, and I actually find hers painful to listen to.

What she says is painful too!  But just the sound of her voice is incredibly irritating to me.

I thought Paula did a good job moderating, but her voice was grating on me today too.  I don't think I'm going to be able to handle those two being on the same day.  Or CCB being on at all.

I always miss Joy.  She's the only consistent bright light that this show has.  They should give her every damn thing she asks for - all the money she wants, but hopefully not too many days off!

Well crap. It's the same panel from yesterday.

CCB doesn't like women sportscasters in the men's locker room. "How do I explain it to my kids?" Just shut up, CCB.

Despite Joy not being there today, I think Paula does a pretty good moderating job.

What an annoying crap fest this show has become! Sherri and Michelle are arguing with each other about EVERYTHING!! I see that Sherri's IQ has dipped even lower than when she was a regular and Raven is beyond irritating, with her pseudo intellectual arrogant blathering. Can this show even be saved at this point? I think not. They keep changing hosts with a frequency that screams "We don't have a bloody clue what we're doing" and in the process, completely alienating viewers. And don't get me started on Candace! Just her voice alone is enough to make one stop watching.

People can say what they will about The Talk but at least they manage to keep their hosts for longer than four or five months.

What a mess!

If Michelle's jokes were even a little bit funny maybe I'd feel differently. BAH.

Raven oh dear god! [/Frasier voice] She opens her mouth and the stupid gets out.

Paula does not make me stark raving stabby and that is my new yardstick by which to measure this show.  I don't love her, but no SRS (stark raving stabby.)

CCB has reached Bitsy levels of annoying for me and that is saying something. The self righteous, nose in the air vibe I get from her is the worst. Yes, CCB, you are an angel going to heaven and everyone different from you is doomed to hell. Got it.

I don't know why TPTB don't rein in Michelle.  She's a nervous talker & what comes out is nonsense & wastes times.  I wish they could have been more professional with Kevin Costner!!  I guess they think going all fan-girly is cute & endearing.  It's not!!!

Martin O'Malley, poor guy is trying to be serious about a presidential run and they just ignore it and sort of mock him by repeatedly asking him if he's ass-kissing for a VP spot on anyone's ticket.  Not that I'm a fan or supporter, but sometimes the audacity of these dumb dumbs is amazing.

Re: Candace.  I'm still stunned that her answer to gun violence is to make sure her children know that if they are blown away while at school or the mall or cinema, they will be fine and be with God.  WTF???  Does that really provide peace and erase fear with these people?

Paula is a good moderator...and was able to moderate without getting into the fray..shades of meredith V. She would be good on days when joy isn't there.

Michelle has some good points, but gets nervous and tries to insert jokes when they aren't needed. She seems able to look at both sides a bit more then raven does.

Sherri appearing again works toward her 50 shows but one Christian on the panel per day please. Both ser and bure serve the same purpose. Was padma busy? She seems calming which the panel needs

O'Malley no sooner stated there is a difference between entertainment and presidential leadership when Michelle states he should go into acting AAAARRGH! She cannot or will not listen.

Please Joy do not desert me. This panel is a bunch of uninformed and lazy people - playing at being capable It's such a waste of the airwaves. How the HELL. Do they keep advertisers The dumbing down continues

What was up with more HT at the end.? Height challenges and packages -- good grief I need to go read a book

All filler no substance without Joy

How does she explain what exactly?  That women can have jobs other than teacher, nurse or any other "womanly" job?  Her husband was a professional hockey player.  Maybe she just didn't want any women around her man in a locker room.

Her saying that makes me hate her.  I mean I truly loathe her.  For her to "comfort" her children by basically saying if something horrific happens to you don't worry God will take care of you is one thing for an adult to understand but for kids to have unwavering faith is a little bit much.

At least we were spared the DWTS castoffs today, especially since it was Paula Deen's "up".  Not a fan of the show, not a fan of Deen, so it was a win-win.

As far as the other Paula, she's an OK moderator, but I don't particularly enjoy her in that role.  IMO her voice modulation isn't much better than CCB's.  If it's not Joy, well...

And speaking of voice, I caught a moment of Bitsy on F&F this morning, as the three hosts were bashing The View yet again.  It just tells me how hurt Bitsy was on her View demise, b/c she just can't seem to let it go.  Of course, for them the only redeeming factor on The View is CCB...big surprise.

Kevin Costner will always be yum.

It is beyond ridiculous and shows she is truly brainwashed.  I attended a church meeting weeks ago where we watched a video on what to do if a shooter came into the building and opened fire and let me tell you the answer was not sit and pray.

Poor dude. That Bad Blood was in the wrong key - too low. And I am shallow.

Really? He's getting raves for it all over twitter even from the reporters who normally mock him. I am tone deaf so I can't tell, but it sounded good to me.

I tuned into the show for the first time in years because I am a huge O'Malley supporter and man this panel is painful to get through.

I quit that stupid gymnastics show on ABC Family because I couldn't take Candace's religious nutjobby views being interjected into the plotlines. She is unbearable here. It's too bad because while O'Malley is a progressive, he is also very religious and they could have had an interesting debate had she not been such a moron.

Oh, no I do think he did an awesome  job. It took guts to play and sing like that, so kudos. I just think it would have been epic in a better (half step or whole step higher) key. Good for him though. And playing an instrument on talk shows has faired (fared?) well for other politicians IIRC. Eek those damn homonyms.

Meredith now has a panel discussion for the first 30 or so minutes of her show. We all know she is a great moderator. It's called "what's hot now". To me it is very enjoyable. I can FF through the rest of the show if it doesn't interest me

Yep. He was off. (Kudos to him for the attempt.) But so was the panel.  Nothing substantive came from that segment. They really need to restrict the candidates' appearances to when Joy is there. The rest of them can't be bothered to question the candidates on the issues or what differentiates them from the others.

That "singing" (if you can call it that) was terrible!  Joy is the best moderator with Paula showing she can handle it too.  CCB's voice is severely grating and I wonder what decibel level she reaches!  Can you imagine her yelling at her "kids?"...STFU!  I do notice Michelle seems to be coming into her own without Whoopi being there like she feels more relaxed or something.  Raven said something super stupid as usual today but I have already forgotten it.

Her kids probably never needed an explanation--they've grown up with this common situation.  It's CANDACE who needs the information.

It actually sounded like Michelle Collins is uncomfortable having women reporters in men's locker room.  Lascivious, groping, salivating women would be fine, apparently, but not professionals.

Is it necessary for every television show featuring a "panel" of women to have ONE who is ridiculously, constantly, and pathetically man-hungry?  It's never the most attractive woman...and it's not funny to me.  Do you find it funny?   They're moving Michelle Collins into that territory...and  Sherri (the EXPERT) joins in when she's there.

I agree.  She's okay, but not great.  I don't think she comes across as experienced as she is.  She seems nervous to me, and kind of amateurish.  And yes, her voice.  Now that she's talking more, I'm finding her hard to listen to.  Not a pleasant voice at all.  She does seem to be pretty successful at getting the others back on track, though, so I'm trying to pay attention to that.  I just wish she wasn't so blah.  They need someone with a bit more spark in the moderator chair.

Reminds me of the prayer that my grandmother taught me when I was 3:

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

If I should die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take.

She wanted me to say it every night & couldn't understand why I refused to go to bed -- I'm sure she also wouldn't understand why I grew up to be an atheist.
