This is happening to me too, but only on my phone (Android).  It is awful.  I try opening new tabs and closing the page with the "winner announcement" but it pops up on the new page, too.  Only on my phone.  So here I am using my old desktop. 

It's only happening on Primetimer, not on any other site I visit on my phone.  So it must be something changed on this site that Primetimer needs to fix!

I've recommended this a couple of times and I'll throw it out there again.

If you go under theme and select IPS default, it is a game changer. There are no ads at all and I can do all the same things as I can under the other themes. I use it on my phone too. Been using this one for a few years now and never have any trouble.

Right now, I see two IPS defaults, but clicking on both, they are the same.

Mine only happens on this site but it's the same one as you, over and over and over. I've run my virus scanner on my phone in different ways and it's not picking up a thing

I've cleared everything, as was suggested in the Bugs forum. The stupid popup still came back today. It's always on first login, then it clears up. I hope they figure it out soon, such a PITA.

Oh, gotcha! I just meant when I first come to this site. This has been going on since Friday, maybe Thursday? It's a giant PITA, but at least it stops after backing out a few times.

Mine will stop for a bit, but if I move back to the main thread, or even a different title, it comes back with a vengeance. Right now I'm using my browser in incognito mode and it's not happening.

This used to happen to me a couple.of phones ago.  Back then, I was using the Samsung Internet app on my phone.  I now access this site using Chrome and have not had any issues.  I also use the IPS Defaut setting when on here.

IPS Default is an absolute godsend. I used to use dark mode and one time I was bitching about the ads making the page jump and someone (possibly in this forum?) suggested IPS default and I've never looked back.

Yeah I have an Android and have no clue what everyone is talking about. I've never had this issue. But I only ever use Chrome to access the site.

I use Chrome on my Android, and I have had this problem every day since sometime last week. I checked the Bugs forum, and it looks like people started complaining about this last Tuesday or Wednesday.

I use Chrome also and still have been getting it. currently I'm using incognito mode and it's working fine, but I have to log in physically every time. Probably should be doing that anyway.

Install Firefox and the add-on ublock origins and it will solve that problem.

I’m gonna say it was me that mentioned it. I did again a few posts above. It is the only way I can read this forum. If it ever went away, I wouldn’t read here anymore.

I didn't get a chance to check here for a few days, but I'm babysitting my grandson today, and as he is sleeping in my one arm, I'm using the other hand to scroll through some stuff on my phone. I wasn’t sure where to post this. Does anyone know if Brenda Willis has divorced Toby?  This piece says no, but it’s from Jan. 2022.   I was wondering if she visits him , stays in contact, etc.  They were compared to the Duggars, but I couldn’t find a link for any appearances together.

Given that Brenda was in denial over what happened to her own daughters in favor of Toby, I imagine she hasn't divorced him.

I remember Brenda putting out a statement that was supportive of the kids right out of the gate. But I also remember some articles and posts from the oldest daughter that circled around what Brenda knew and didn't know. The link didn't work for me. Is there something new?

GAH!!!! my computer did a nice little thing today and reset EVERYTHING! it has been acting up lately -- i haven't been able to access my medical portal for the week so went in person today to fix that issue. but now, i have to go to all elevnty seven sites that i use and reenter all my passwords and hope to goodness i can get back in. primetimes was one fo those that took a few trys. i am nowhere near caught up -- in fact i cant even find my blogs -that is disappointing to me in a huge way. oh an now the print her is small again too.  grrr....

She also knew and covered up the extreme physical abuse Toby did to the kids. The oldest girl told of a time when Toby chased her up & down their RV hitting her. Someone called the police & they hid their daughter in a bunkbed and everyone lied to the police. She is just as complicit as Toby is in his crimes.

Truly love it when they happily accept kudos and attention for how they "slay", and then preach how horrible it is for people to pick them apart and criticize them for any missteps and fakery in the looks as if their entire schtick and obsession isn't (not so) subtly laying down a heavy burden for society as a whole.   Looky there, common ground with the Duggar hypocrisy train.    

Social media can be a great thing.   It can also cause such harm.

From what I know if it, Brenda made a public statement in support of the kids after Toby was arrested, but based on what the girls have stated she willfully turned a blind eye to the abuse until she couldn't do so any more publicly. But my knowledge is limited. I believe the girls statement more than anything Brenda would say.

On a lighter note, is anyone shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale? I had planned on it, but after Cavendish's vet bill, and I need a new water heater (its not broken yet, but getting it replaced before it actually dies). I am tapped out of "fun money" for the rest of 2022 it looks like. I would rather have Cavendish than any item of clothing so I don't regret it. (photo because he is adorable)

He is adorable and you are an amazing pet mom! We had emergency vet bills last year and I understand how expensive but so worth it Cavendish's care was.  And I love all your pet names!

Thank you! I said after Mr Norris died June 2020 that my next cat would be named after Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire- but he’s a boy and I figured it was fitting.

That’s crummy. Busted appliances are so aggravating , you don’t realize how much you use something until it’s broken.

My BFFs uncle has a countertop built in (so just below the countertop) and it always feels so fancy (I have always had countertop microwaves).

We moved into our brand new house 22 years ago and it came with a built in microwave.  We have already had to replace it twice, so three in 22 years.  About one every 7 years!  Built-ins cost so much more than counter top ones, and are so difficult to install, at least for us.  We paid Lowes to install our last one.  It seemed like a lot of work for him, too!

Wow, our microwave, a cheap countertop from Sears, just died on us last year after about 20 years of faithful service. Reading these stories, I hope its replacement lasts half as long.

Installing the built-in IS a lot of work. My husband and I manhandled the first one seven years ago, but he has a bad shoulder now, so we knew we needed help. I asked our neighborhood text group if anyone knew a good handyman we could hire, and our angel of a neighbor, strong and strapping, came over and helped us. He wouldn’t take payment, but we rewarded and thanked him with an incredible edibles fruit bouquet.

We are really hoping this one lasts longer as it is so expensive. But the built-in really frees up counter space.

On the topic of appliances, can someone recommend a good toaster?  The heating elements in ours are slowly dying, and it's at least 10 years old.  I need a 4-slice with a bagel button.  We do have a Breville air fryer/microwave/oven combo, so I just need a standalone toaster.  Thanks!

i have a stainless steel black and decker that is  4 SLICER AND IT WORKS GREAT. PROBABLY GOT IT AT LOEWS (sorry for the caps) or at target.

I have a KitchenAid toaster that I've had for seven years and it still works fine (and is a nice red color to match my mixer and food processor). It has a sensor that slowly lowers the bread into it automatically. When she stayed here in the spring after leaving her husband, my friend was entranced by the toaster taking the bread from her and returning toast. 😂

As for microwaves, we have an under-counter microwave drawer that we had installed when we had our kitchen remodelled in 2014. Just at the beginning of the pandemic, it started sparking sometimes when I was using it. Rather than have someone from outside our household come in to fix it at that time, I just stopped using it and I find I do not really miss it. I am now side-eyeing the space it takes up and considering have it removed and getting additional drawers installed.

I had a wonderful countertop model that was a hand-me-down from my parents. It was at least 18 years old when I sent it along to its next owner, and it still worked better than any of the three built-ins that came with my various apartments/condos. At one point one of the built-ins died when the building lost power during a thunderstorm, and getting a new one installed was a huge hassle. If I lived in a place that had counter space and didn’t come with a built-in, I’d go back to countertop style in a minute.

Wow. I can’t imagine not having a microwave. I use it all day every day for all kinds of things.

The appliance we use the most is our toaster oven (toasts/bakes/broils/convection, etc.) With just the two of us at home, we do a LOT of our cooking in it.

We have a Proctor-Silex, 4 extra wide slots, that has to be 30 years old.  It still works great.  I don’t think I have even seen this brand anymore.

One thing I am certain of is when we replace it, the next one won’t live one third as long.  That’s the way appliances are now.
