Hello Sam Rockwell - that was quite a monologue. Walton Goggins’ expression throughout was priceless.

Lochlan may not be the “innocent” that Saxon believes him to be. He looked way too comfortable partying.

Not sure what’s going to come from the friends’ wild night with Valentin and his pals. Nothing good. At least Kate had some sense.

Parker Posey is still delightful.

I fully support Piper in her efforts to explore Buddhism and get away from her awful parents, but she handled that absolutely terribly.

She lied about the thesis, she effectively told her parents that the whole point of staying at the monastery is to reject their values and get new ones, and she called her father's career "bullshit." I don't think she really has people skills at all.

Poor Tim.

"I don't even have my lorazepam, I'm going to have to drink myself to sleep" is the line of the night. I love Victoria.

Yeah, that was . . . . a . . . .  LOT.  The only thing that made that amazing delivery better was Walton Goggins NOT reacting to any of it. I need more of those two together, hopefully in roles in which they can play to their full personalities -- that would be something to see!

I fear Piper is on the hit list -- she was wearing a dress or top that had a big red splotch directly in the middle -- I immediately thought of a gunshot.

Its slow but I'm liking it!

I love Walton Goggins, so Sundays are awesome right now -- White Lotus followed by Righteous Gemstones!

It just got crazier and crazier as it went on.  I think if Goggins' eyes could have exploded out of his head, they would have.  As an aside, I did not realize Sam Rockwell is in a long term relationship with Leslie Bibb.

I appreciated Victoria not knowing what country she is in, but felt bad for her in that she realizes that something is very wrong with her husband, but has no idea what it is and cannot do much about it.  I also think Piper sounds like a giant flake with no real idea what she is proposing for herself.  I don't know if the show will take it all the way, but I presume Saxon and Lachlan are going to have some kind of sex with one another.

Also, poor Belinda.  She's scared to death, is likely in real danger and the hotel cares not at all.

Finally, very much enjoyed Carrie c**** going wild.

I think this show likes to twist things from what we expect. We think Saxon is going to corrupt innocent Lochy, but Lochy may be the real predator. The Russians are up to something with the girl friends but it might be different than we think. The Sam Rockwell speech was interesting but I don’t know what it had to do with anything.

Chloe was encouraging the brothers to take drugs and party but also thinks Gary might be violent if he finds out. What is she up to? My older and very conservative sister started watching this, I’ll have to call her tomorrow to see how shocked she was lol.

I'm looking forward to the "role playing" Walton Goggins mentioned might be coming.

I like Belinda, but the freaking out at every animal she meets is getting ridiculous. There's wildlife in Hawaii, where she lives, does she act that way at home?

It was not what I expected when I heard a guest star had an amazing monologue.  Very random.  Kind of awesome.  And I love how Goggins reacted.  It had the perfect "This is TMI" expression.

I DID know that and I feel kind of dumb I didn't anticipate it.  I had heard an Oscar winner would be making an unpublicized guest appearance and deliver an amazing monologue, yet I didn't think of Sam Rockwell as a possibility.  Again, even though I knew he and Leslie Bibb are together so he'd be an obvious choice to pop in.

I was expecting strong incest.  Instead, we got weak incest.  Ho hum.  But yes, the younger one is bolder than I gave him credit for.

When Fabian said they couldn't contact the authorities because Greg is a guest, I wanted to scream at the TV, "No he isn't!" He and Chelsea just have a home near the hotel, right?

I don't think he said he's a guest, just that they didn't want to call the police because they have guests who expect disretion...or something like that.  I was suspicious of him in that moment.

I was unsure whether to be suspicious of Fabian or if the show was making a point about the culture and level of service in places like Thailand. They really do have amaaazing service in Asian hotels that is so much better than American and European ones.

I was convinced someone would drunk drown or hit their head and I’m glad nobody did. Totally with Kate on going to bed, shit was getting crazy and they were with men they really didn’t know at all.

The brother kissing was just…wow. And we also got the monologue of monologues. But what was the point of that monologue?

Was really expecting something crazy that would move the plot points along for this episode, and it wound up being rather...anticlimactic? I admit I do feel relieved for the characters in a way, because I was expecting something really bad to happen.

I was VERY nervous when the 3 gals were partying it up in the bar with the Russians - especially when they brought shots to the table. Valentin looked irritated when Kate didn't want to take her shot - I thought for sure their drinks had been spiked. Still not sure what they're up to, but I do think they're up to something.

The supposedly wild night with the two brothers wound up relatively tame.

That monologue was indeed something else, but I'm not sure what the point was. The look on Waltin Goggins face was absolutely priceless throughout.

Only 3 episodes left - hope something exciting actually happens, this season has felt like one big tease so far.

Well I'm pretty sure we all had Lochy and Saxon make out on our White Lotus bingo card so there we are.

I agree that I was totally not trusting those shots the guys brought over. Figured it was going to be something like absinthe or  everclear especially Valentin's look when Laurie took the second shot.  The inside the episode talks about the dynamic of Laurie getting the attention at first but Jaclyn stealing it back.  Did feel for Kate.  I've been the drunk Laurie but I've also been the babysitter too.  Happy hangovers.

Well hello there Sam Rockwell and WOW that was a group of words that was said.  Walton Goggins definitely needs some Emmy attention because that was some classic "acting is reacting."

Not surprised Fabian isn't taking Belinda seriously which sucks.  At least she has Pornchai.

In the first episode, I was concerned that the whole trip would always be 2 (Jaclyn and Kate) against 1 (Laurie), but I think having it just be three friends in the group was a really smart move because it has felt like constantly shifting allegiances that you wouldn't necessarily get with an even number of people. Tonight was Kate's turn to be the one I was least annoyed with; and the only one with common sense.

All the vague spoilers and guesses about the incest story were so over the top that when it finally happened I was like "That's it?" Not that you should be French kissing a sibling, but that was nothing compared to what some redditors were guessing. And at least they have some plausible deniability with the drinking and the molly.

It feels like Lachlan has constantly been pulled between his brother and sister - who would be the bigger influence on his life, who would he align himself with? Now he seems to be blazing his own path...of party monster. Honestly did not see that coming.

Really should have predicted that Sam Rockwell could show up due to being with Leslie Bibb in real life, but it still surprised me.  Even more surprising was just how wild that speech got.  A "hitman" (I think?) with some issues.  Lots of issues.  Rick's reaction to all of that was priceless.  I know Walton Goggins has kind of been underplaying it compared to the norm, but he really nailed it down here.  You could just see Rick thinking "You know, maybe listening to Chelsea talk about romance, soulmates, and horoscopes isn't so bad after-all..."

Girlfriend group definitely got a lot of screen time this go around and while the partying didn't become as insane as I thought it might, I still find the dynamics interesting.  Kate seems to be the one who tries to keep things under control and not go extreme with it, while Laurie certainly seems to really, really let loose, once the drinks are flowing.  Interesting that she did seem to lose the guys a little bit whens he started shop talk, but they still seemed charmed by her.

And then there is Jaclyn.  It initially felt like some of her aggressive dancing and flirting was due to that group of younger women and finding them a threat, but actually having sex Valentin is a really big line she crossed.  I'm guessing it's a combination of those insecurities and her being pissed that her husband hasn't contacted her.  Watch it end up being a good reason why he hasn't called back.  Once again, the three actresses really are making me kind of invested in these characters in a way I wasn't expecting.

Over-the-top accent be damned: Parker Posey is just fabulous in every way possible.  Victoria is so extra and borderline insane, but I love almost every line that comes out of her mouth.  She would totally be someone who thinks Charles Manson and Clintons belong in the same group.

Saxon, Lochian, Chloe, and Chelsea drink, take drugs, and look like they might start having a foursome.  Oh, and just a little kissing siblings thrown in as well!  For this show, that's crazy.  But after seasons of Game of Thrones, a little making out between brothers is amateur hour!

Aww, Belinda and Pornchai have a nice moment!  Maybe the show will surprise me and nothing bad will actually happen with them.  Stay away from her, Greg!

Gaitok actually uses common sense by looking at the cameras and seeing Tim steal his gun.  And then he proceeds to just.... say cryptic things and not actually confront Tim.  Bro....

Speaking of which, looks like Tim really is planning on suicide.  I know reason gets thrown out the window once you get to that mindset, but planning on doing that in the hotel room for your family to discover the aftermath is a lot.

So, despite was television claims, next time I take a shot of vodka, I'm actually suppose to shout "Shia LaBeouf!" instead.

Definitely know this wasn't planned, but the episode ending with Tim praying kind of became funny knowing it was going to lead into The Righteous Gemstones.

A second gun is now in play, thanks to Rick.  Still predicting/hoping this is all going to lead to one of the monkeys just taking a gun and going to town on these fools!

My take is that he was seriously going to try to shoot himself but couldn't find the courage to actually pull the trigger. He's not that strong of a man. Then Victoria comes in and in her weird way tries to encourage him but just reminds him of the reason he is so stressed in the first place. Expectations. They all expect everything from him and he has utterly failed them but as a family they have, I think in his mind, utterly failed him. Victoria never tried to ask what was really wrong, how could she help, they will get through whatever it is together. No. She just said he was a success so he had no reason to worry about anything, he couldn't disappoint them for that reason. I still get family annihilator vibes from him. If he can pull it off. He seems very very angry underneath feeling sorry for himself and realizing he can't be what everyone in his family expects and demands of him. They take his success for granted and he failed. He started off worried and afraid of what they'd think. At the end of that last scene he just looked pissed.

I was wondering... when Tim realized that Piper had lied and manipulated the whole family into taking this trip...was he thinking that is why he ended up so isolated and out of contact? And that if he'd been back home and gotten the first alert that everything was going sideways, he might have had time to protect himself and their money? His face was so subtle but it's the first thing I thought about so maybe he did also.  I felt like he was on the edge of exploding but understood it no longer made a difference so just sank further down.

Sam Rockwell’s monologue is bonkers but it’s not jaw-dropping. Frank’s self-discovery through kinky sex is not the most unhinged things that a middle aged man can do in Thailand.

Rick’s various expressions that have me laughing out loud. It’s so fascinating to watch his inability to process his thoughts about the self-discovery method.

🤣🤣🤣

On a serious note, I hope Rick understands the underlying message that Frank is trying to convey. Rick can proceed with his revenge plan but it doesn’t guarantee that he’ll be fulfilled and satisfied. It might be better for him to just confront the “killer” then walk away. There’s a woman who clearly cares about him to think about.

I had suspected, due to Sam Rockwell's relationship with Leslie Bibb, and that he and Walt Goggins are real life friends,  that he would be the Oscar winner with the bonkers monologue, but I still might have whooped when he showed up.

These two together are a master class of acting. And I find them both hotter than all the hot muscley guys on the show.

I didn't hate Saxon for the first time last night, and I have to say that Patrick S did a pitch perfect bit of high-as-a-kite face acting as they wandered the crowd and the molly or whatever it was kicked in. I didn't see Lochlan as the aggressor coming either, but he was definitely more in control that Saxon was.

I get that Belinda probably doesn't realize that, but I would think that Fabian would know whether this high roller was actually staying there or not.

I read that the Four Seasons land has property/homes you can buy and use the amenities - so I can see him and Chloe being considered guests in that sense.

I think its more a commentary on the level of service, but also as much as I love Belinda she sounded like a crazy person (even knowing the truth myself), and didn't have any proof (she hasn't actually sent him the links). Plus he's probably known GregGary for a while, and he only met Belinda 3 days ago. He doesn't really have any reason to believe her.

I assumed this trip was over Winter or Spring break, so only a few months away. Lochlan has already been accepted to the 2 schools and only needs to decide which to pick. Usually the acceptance letters come early spring, sometimes late fall for early action.

I am so not enjoying any of this. I keep waiting for it to get better, but week after week... nope.

Nothing really seems to be happening. I like most of the actors and the characters are sort of interesting, but it kind of feels like they just made this thing as an excuse to go to Thailand and hang around at a high end luxury resort. Lots of talk, talk, talk, talk, and various setups, but no real movement in plot.

Sam Rockwell's monologue sort of epitomizes the whole point of White Lotus. Get a strong actor, give them a bunch of interesting dialogue and let them act their ass off. It's all just character study for the sake of character study.

It's sort of like looking at a painting. It's interesting, but it doesn't really do anything.

Well, I might be rethinking my choice of chamomile tea while I watch television...

I think we're starting to see that Lochlan may be more the predator than Saxon. (Although Saxon continues to be gross, I think he's more talk than action.)

Gaitok continues to be the worst security guard in history. All he needed to say to Tim was, "We have video proof of you stealing an item from this hotel."

There's still a question mark over Fabian. Is he just poorly developed as a character (with only a few episodes left), or is he not as fumbling as he appears? Also, Belinda, you can call the police on your own.

I think I may have heard Fabian said he’s a “frequent” guest, not that he’s a current guest. Remember how Gary and Chloe just seem to nonchalantly go to the bar for drinks and restaurant for dinners every single day even though they’re not staying at the hotel, because they’re VIP enough to do so. This also goes with what the elder lady said at that first bar for retirees that Valentin sent the three women to when she said she and her friend weren’t “posh” enough to be allowed at the White Lotus hotel, even as just guests for the day.

Totally agree.  Also the first time another dimension was added to his character.  He seems all talk but going into the action itself he seemed flustered.  Curious how he'll develop in the last three episodes.

Its classic White Lotus to keep you waiting the whole season for the other shoe to drop and shit to go dark, and that shoe is still dangling over the water waiting to fall in. This episode gave me such anxiety, even though I knew that nothing big will happen until the very end of the season. Those drums just beating away made it sound like the whole city was going to get washed away in that Tsunami they were foreshadowing.

I cant decide who's reactions were better, Rick's baffled expressions as he hears his friends wild monologue, or Kate sitting in her matching pajamas drinking water as her friends are in the middle of an almost pool orgy as this random guy trauma dumps all over her as she wishes she was asleep. Always happy to see Sam Rockwood, I should have known that he would show up, although I certainly would not have suspected that to be what he arrives to deliver.

"You cant be a Buddhist, your not even Chinese."

Wait until Victoria realizes that her daughter wanting to spend a year abroad meditating is by far the least of her families problems. Next to her husband losing everything and almost killing himself and her incestuous sons, a Buddhist daughter wont be looking so bad. I am both surprised and not surprised that Lochy was the bigger aggressor it seems than Saxon.

Plus that seems the epitome of entitled white girl. To take a year, or two, to just do Buddhism. Do she pay for this?  Can't imagine its zero cost.

Overall a bit of a letdown.  Was expecting more. Way too much 'should we or shouldn't we' with the sexual implications on the boat.

Man, I really felt Kate’s discomfort. I have never, ever been a party type, but there were a couple of times in college where I ended up going out with a group where things got a lot wilder than anticipated. All I wanted to do was go home, take out my contacts and put on my pjs.

The siblings are becoming more interesting to me. I started out hating Saxon and liking the other two (with reservations — I’ve known kids like them and reality rarely matched first impressions). I still think Saxon is an obnoxious blowhard, but looking like he’s more bark than bite. Is Lochy just better at loosening up? Or is he more the under-the-radar predator type? I’m not sure, but I hope we find out more.

Piper just strikes me as an immature, spoiled, entitled kid. She has insight and definitely a more open mind, but manipulating her entire family and deciding the course of her life after barely glancing at the place? Not exactly a sign of maturity and wisdom.

I continue to worry about Belinda. And Gaithok is dancing a jig on my last nerve.

perhaps, but I feel for Piper, as I think she's at least feeling that her life thus far has been so superficial that she's actually pursuing a spiritual path.  It is indeed a privilege that she feels her family will grant her, no questions asked, and that's where she went wrong. If she feels this is her path, she should be ready to do what she has to to get  there... Work for a year? save money and then go? Move to Thailand and work (perhaps at a place like White Lotus LOL)  and then go? Try to do both?

Personally, I would encourage my child to travel the world, to have experiences of other cultures if I could afford it and if they wanted to.

Unless Piper's planning to stay in Thailand rather than fly back with her family, it makes zero sense why she'd drop the bomb now. Especially when her Dad is noticeably acting strange & her mom lost her beloved lorazepam prescription.

Belinda & Pornchai are so incredibly awkward together. When she started in on the whole consent thing, I wanted to crawl out of my skin. Not sure why hasn't considered alerting the Italian authorities, even just an anonymous tip of his whereabouts.

Also surprised Timothy would be sitting out in open with the gun to his temple. I have to imagine he was visible on any resort cameras.

Was that a private villa pool the women were frollicking in with the Russians?  It looked pretty big for that. I'm enjoying their story. Having been part of numerous friend groups over the years, it rings true.

Geez, I wanted to slap him upside the head. I get that he's rather passive and deferring to others, but this was so simple.

In the first ep I thought Lachlan looked like he was curious about sex and would probably be experimenting later. I didn't anticipate that Saxon would be more talk than action. Like someone else said, this is the first ep where I kinda liked him.

I'm still holding judgment on the Russians. I don't think the drinks were drugged. When Valentin watched Laurie grab the shot, I think he was just surprised at how bold she was. I just don't see them as dangerous. (I may eat my words later.)

I did notice that later when Laurie was snuggling against Valentin, he didn't snuggle back.

Like others here, I don't get why Belinda doesn't call the authorities herself. Maybe she will.

I didn't know Sam Rockwell was going to be on the show. I was pleased to see him. It was a good monologue. Somehow I didn't think it was all that shocking. I was afraid he was going to say that he'd had sex with children.

I wasn't sure if Tim was just about to pull the trigger when Victoria walked in.

I think each ep could be 30 minutes, or this season could just be four episodes. I'm often ok with slow-moving shows/movies, but this really needs to move along.

Same, but probably not if they called my values bullshit.  Even though Piper is right (more than she even knows) I just think lying to get her entire family there and assuming her parents would would support this while telling them how terrible they are seems in line with the family values she says she rejects.

Of course it's all moot since there isn't any money anymore.

I enjoyed the scenes of the three friends partying with the Russians and the scenes of the partying on the yacht.

So much hype about the "controversial" scenes and then really nothing.  Unless there is more to come next episode.

Why was Laurie with Valentin the whole night, and Jaclyn with the other dark haired one... but then Jaclyn called Valentin over for a booty call?  She was the one that has been encouraging Laurie to hook up with Valentin.  Is this yet another way for her to demonstrate that she is superior to Laurie, or am I reading too much into it?  Laurie clearly didn't want to go there with Valentin or she would have.

Gaitok is such a timid mouse.  Why did he just sit there staring at Tim?  And then the mousy "I think you have something of mine".  Huh?  Just march over there, "excuse me sir, please come with me.  You were seen on camera stealing a gun from the security station."  He couldn't even do that.  Why is the show wasting so much time on him?

Belinda invited Pornchai into her bed and said she consents... ok.  Why is she listening to Fabian?  She doesn't work for him, and if he wants to end her exchange program then so be it, but she would be alive.  She is very much afraid that Greg is going to kill her.

And we also got the monologue of monologues. But what was the point of that monologue?

I was completely confused.  He was there to give Rick a gun.  Then he talks about wanting to be an Asian girl, dressing up as one, and offering himself up to white men.  I don't get the point of why he was telling Rick all this, and apparently, neither did Rick.

I think Jaclyn was wanting to have sex with Valentin the whole time and was using Laurie as an excuse to invite him along to everything.  She was pretending she wouldn't cheat on her husband, and wouldn't want a scandal since she is famous. Well, up until he stopped responding to her texts.  I think having those 3 women watching her dance with the 2 Russians really turned her on and i felt she was putting on a show for them in hopes it will go viral and her husband will see it.

I sort of expected a threesome of some kind during that unhinged pool party. Either Laurie + Jacklyn + Val, or Jaclyn + 2 dudes
