Okay, I want to know what restaurant they were at that serves buckets of spaghetti? Was it The Old Spaghetti Factory?

Dale was so cute with the baby. He might have been able to take care of her without Connie if it weren’t for Mary streamrolling her way through again. And Audrey of course.

That baby is too cute! Apparently Dale only knows songs about murder..

Um, Cece lives in the Coopers' house. I'd say Mary has more standing to keep the baby.

"And carpet everywhere, even in the kitchen." "That's a terrible idea." We had carpet in the kitchen when I was a kid. Red and black houndstooth carpet. Yes, it's a terrible idea. (It was there when we moved into the house but it was a few years before my parents replaced it.)

Okay, I might take back my comment about not missing this show. There are things I will miss.

I've never heard of restaurants that serve spaghetti that way but sign me up!!

I also liked Georgie's conversation with Mandy about how he'd get his ass kicked if he took her last name.  I'm going to miss this show!  I hope that the spinoff is good.

Best line of the episode!

Best lines of the series!
Kudos to Lorre or whoever made 2 R's feel like the good guys to the D's watching.
Give the responsible writers and directors (and maybe actors) a Peace Prize!

Cece and Dale with the guitar was golden.

*************

The negatives:

I hated George holding a pain (albeit in his side) after he and Mary ran up the courthouse steps to Georgie and Mandy's wedding.

If the situation in this show had happened in the 21st century, Cece would be in foster care right now. 🥺

I really don't enjoy watching Mandy's mom, her dad's bromance with George is cute.

Connie running with the baby was so funny.

Without Sheldon this series is going down fast.  There is Connie being interesting and that is about it.

Hate the whole baby-marriage arc.  Can't stand Georgie's wife and mother-in-law and he got boring as a character once they started that whole arc.

Won't be watching one single episode of a Sheldon-less spinoff centered on that part of the show I can't stand.

I agree. I’m bored with Audrey, and her competitive relationship with Mary makes them both look awful. Last week’s unsanctioned baptism/christening should have been enough for both of them to get cut off, and this week is no better.

I have especially missed Missy and George’s relationship. Sometimes it felt like their moments were the true heart of the show.

The Mandy/Georgie spinoff just holds no interest for me whatsoever. It’s a storyline that should have been one-and-done, and it’s especially not something to look forward to if it means more of Awful Audrey. If I want to watch a sitcom featuring mothers being horrible to their daughters (I don’t), Golden Girls is on Hallmark almost every night.

I'm thinking Spaghetti Warehouse because of the train section. Sadly most locations have closed. I don't remember a bucket of spaghetti but that doesn't mean it wasn't on the menu, LOL. And yes, getting seated in the train was fun.

The conversation between Georgie and Mandy in the car had me thinking that they should be honeymooning in the Bahamas so they can get a quicky divorce before they come home.

I loved the friendly female cop wanting to keep CeeCee at the station. I'm surprised they let Connie get her stuff without an escort, since she is a flight risk.

He also knows at least part of I Walk the Line.  The murder songs were funny, though.  CC liked the upbeat one.

We had indoor-outdoor carpet in the kitchen in a similar color.  It was such a bad idea.  Once my brother was supposed to start supper because my parents weren't home yet (he was about 12, I think) and the pan caught fire.  He panicked and threw it across the kitchen.  Melted the carpet when it landed.  We got new flooring shortly afterwards.  Still carpet, though.

We also had carpet in the bathroom for a short time.  Even worse idea.

I loved the follow up "it felt good to get that out".

This episode was more like the Young Sheldon I like and I hope it spells the end of the gambling den storyline!

One thing I found odd though was the Sheldon story where he thinks someone has been buried in the backyard.  Did I miss something because it seemed really unlikely to me that he would have been digging back there no matter what Missy had said.

It was hard to believe that he actually thought Missy was telling the truth.  The thing I thought was also unbelievable about that scene was that Sheldon was doing any sort of physical manual labor.  He always pushes things like that off on others.

I could buy that he believed Missy as he has been shown to be very gullible but I agree that him digging anything, least of all a hole that size, was just not Sheldon.  Did Missy ever say who was supposedly buried back there?  I swear I watched this episode but I must have been distracted a couple of times!

I'm assuming Connie getting arrested is going to wrap up the gambling room story, and Georgie's going to go to work in Mandy's parents' tire store.  But how are they going to keep Georgie out of legal trouble?  Connie's going to deny that anyone else was involved?

Yes. Friendly female deputy was perfect casting and writing.
TPTB should seriously consider reworking the spinoff to include regular B plots that would be like a reboot of The Andy Griffith Show. Maybe lady cop and Connie become roommates raising Ceecee while Mandy's away at college and Georgie works with his father-in-law.

That was odd. Other shows have had similar out-of-season seasonal plots due to the Writers Strike. Maybe this was supposed to air around Halloween?
It could also be a demonstration of how Sheldon misunderstood a lot of what was going on in his childhood — which I think is par for the course for most folks IRL, but which has troubled a lot of viewers who do not want any deviation from TBBT canon.

I got curious, so I googled and found By-the-Bucket, an Arizona restaurant chain that serves spaghetti, uh, by the bucket.  The follow-ups where everybody seemed to have leftover spaghetti in their fridge cracked me up.

Georgie is so sweet with Mandy that it makes me sad for him that the inevitable divorce is coming in the future.  He seems genuinely happy--but honestly, Mandy doesn't.

Mandy taking a moment for her dad to walk her down the aisle was sweet.

I thought the storyline was humorous, but I agree it seems unlikely that Sheldon would be out there digging.  It's not even the manual labor for me so much, it just seems like digging up a dead body would be too "icky" for Sheldon.  What's he going to do if he finds it, turn his parents in to the police?

I guess they're getting rid of the gambling room before the end of the series.  The worst thing is Georgie loses his income.  I'm guessing Mandy's dad hires him at the tire place.  I wonder if he'll be on the spinoff?

The Mandy character/actress is awful! There is zero warmth or heart to her character. She's just constantly sour and disagreeable. I adore TBBT and love this show but she is the absolute worst!

I think Georgie genuinely loves Mandy and he loves his daughter and he is committed to building a family together. Notice in the car, he was the one wanting to discuss future plans. Will they have additional children? Is it time to start looking for their own place?

I think Mandy married Georgie to spite her mother.

And I think that the only reason she went through with the pregnancy after finding out Georgie‘s age was that she heard her clock ticking in the background along with the fact that she was apparently raised Catholic in Texas.

Georgie is headed for some serious heartbreak.

I like parts of your idea for the spin-off but I want to rework it a little. A more modern version of The Andy Griffith Show set in Medford Texas sounds enjoyable. You would have to add in the quirky townsfolk/citizens. The other version would be Booklyn 9-9/Barney Miller set in a rural area. The question is are you focusing on the town or the police officers, because I think either one could work.

I don't like the idea of the lady cop and Connie becoming roommates. That just seems a bit much for me, but I do like the idea some type of (TVLand) probation/agreement that involves the lady cop checking up on Connie on a regular basis. This idea is pure TVLand logic, but instead of prison Connie gets an absolutely insane number of community service hours, and the lady cop is checking in/supervising her.

It will be interesting to find out why the gambling den got raided.  Did Connie not have enough money to keep up her protection payments?  I know at the start of the season it looked like she was in trouble financially but at the start of this one she was telling CeeCee (which was adorable) that she was making a lot of  money with the roulette wheel.  So did someone rat her out to a higher up in the police department?

I remember the episode when Mary made her prayer garden, and the reason for it. Sheldon was really sweet to his mom in that episode. That makes it less likely that he'd believe Missy.

Mr. Zoey and I have a mixed marriage (Democrat, Republican), so that comment was so funny!

Not really any belly laughs, but constant snickering throughout this episode:

Anything to do with spaghetti.

Anything Dale said and/or sang.

George and Jim

Even Mary and Audrey with the hostile spaghetti/bread invite

Walter Mondale

But one big question. One shameful family secret after another being revealed and Sheldon seemingly so out of the loop. Like he isn't privy to the Queen Mother of Dirty Laundry - his father's dalliance with that blonde German tart.

And, didn't he pull a similar joke on Missy several seasons ago, getting her to dig in Meemaw's yard?

It was the first season and she dug so many holes looking for loose change that Meemaw fell in one.  Don't remember if she got hurt.

Sheldon had already pulled the same prank on Missy, saying there was money buried in Meemaw's yard.

Missy had the best line. When Mary was begging to be included in the wedding,

Missy went "yes please I only have one brother"

Mary, "what about Sheldon?"

Missy, "yeah" and a shrug😂😂😂😂😂😂

Dramatic example of Chuck Lorre philosophy.  Two weeks in a row both Mandy and Georgie’s mothers are typical self-centered women who act in their own interests.  And how do the fathers act? Peacekeepers, cooperating with each other as pleasantly as  can be.

My favorite exchange involved Linkletter sitting down to the spaghetti bucket dinner:

”I visited Italy once.”

“Does this bring back memories?”

”No.”

Is Sheldon walking in on George and the  “blonde” just going to be completely glossed over? Has he mentioned it once since it happened?

And where is Sturgis? I miss him.

It barely feels like Sheldon's part of the family anymore. Even when he's home he's more of a side character.

My friend's house was flooded during hurricane Sandy and they had to have it raised (which didn't even happen until a couple years later, I think); it was supposed to be 4-6 months but took a year because of contractor issues. During that year they stayed in a house that belonged to a friend of her mom's, but he was getting ready to sell it and had already moved. I swear this place hadn't been redecorated since at least the 70s if not the 60s, the oven and stove were most certainly older than us (born 1975), and not in a cool vintagey way, and the bathroom was fully carpeted. I don't even want to know what the floor looked like under that carpet.

It did seem out of character for him to keep digging (being so smart and all), but Sheldon takes everything he hears literally.  He heard the adults talk about skeletons in the closet and there was another reference to someone being dead (I can't remember the exact line.)  Maybe an "I'll kill him/her" was thrown in there!!  Sheldon also trusts Missy and doesn't know when she's lying to him.

Sheldon was trying to piece the puzzle together of who was buried in the yard based on the few clues he heard, so I guess he let the mystery overrule his ability to think things through to realize he was being played.

The higher up is the person Connie was paying the bribe money to.  So to save his skin he will make the whole thing go away no doubt.

Yeah they totally lost focus in this show.  I watch for Sheldon and I like Connie and this season the rest of the cast are totally boring minus Mary's dancing in Germany.

All this season is about is to set-up and promote a spin-off I hate already.

Mandy at least seems marginally less hostile and disgusted by Georgie.  Almost a 180 when she said she wanted him in the car.   I imagine it's to smooth the way for the new show.

Loved how the cops swung by Dale's so Connie could get her meds & jammies.  I can see that in a very small town back then.

Mary & Audrey exhaust me, but I'm still enjoying the Jim & George bromance.

I hope the gambling room is over, but the laundry should still be open for business so Georgie has a job there for a while.

Do I remember correctly that their honeymoon trip was a weekend in Dollywood? Out of curiosity I googled and Dollywood is a 14 hour drive from Houston (not sure exactly where Medford is supposed to be but I know it's East Texas)...hardly worth it if you're only there for a couple days...

Maybe the gambling room could get converted into a simple pinball arcade, perhaps with Bingo nights?

Mandy's parents seem to have enough disposable income so that they could fly Mandy and Georgie to Dollywood.

Sheldon came off as a buffoon in this episode. They don't know how to write him anymore. Missy doesn't have anything interesting to do anymore either. I'm not interested in Georgie and Mandy's marriage or watching them in a spinoff. I liked Jana better than Mandy.

I think it's more like they don't care anymore.  The other characters are more interesting.  Kind of strange when you consider what a focus of TBBT Sheldon was, but I guess it's a different kind of show.

Mandy seems to be getting a lot of hate here.  I like her, though I admit she doesn't do much.  Do we know from TBBT if Georgie ended up divorced?  You can answer in spoilers if you like.
