Popular Post scarynikki12 March 11, 2024 Popular Post Share March 11, 2024 So they have interpretive dancers, singers in front of the screens, and they just put a hard to read list of names to close out the montage? Fire whoever thought that was a good idea. The montage is actually simple: a collection of images and/or scenes from industry people who died since the last Oscar ceremony. You can have a live musician playing or singing on stage but they should NOT block the screens. Nothing else should be going on. The hard part should be putting together a good montage not how many different ways can we disrespect the dead by distracting the audiences and viewers. 20 1 2 12 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142764-the-96th-academy-awards/page/12/#findComment-8310207

Popular Post MerBearHou March 11, 2024 Popular Post Share March 11, 2024 (edited) That was HORRIBLE. Disrespectful to those who had passed away. A montage for some implying they’re not quite important enough for a full screen, unnecessary and intrusive interpretive dancers, more focus on the singers (yes, I love that song but not center stage in a Memoriam, off to the side is fine), hard to see screen, dancers covering up some of the professions (William Friedkin, as an example), and more. That was shameful. Edited March 11, 2024 by MerBearHou 18 1 10 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142764-the-96th-academy-awards/page/12/#findComment-8310215

thuganomics85 March 11, 2024 Share March 11, 2024 I really need to quit being surprised over how they find ways to screw up the In Memoriam. Could barely see shit. Whose bright idea was this? Unless I missed him, I didn't see Lance Reddick up there, which alone infuriates me. Even if he was mainly a television actor, he was Charon a.k.a. the best Hotel Manager ever in the John Wick franchise. wallflower75 March 11, 2024 Share March 11, 2024 Oh for God's sake!! I thought it was going to start out okay, with the strings playing Con te partirò, even if I was a little frustrated with the dancers. But when all you're seeing is a long shot of the people who've passed away, and suddenly there are more dancers and here are the singers...no!! Just let us see the pictures and occasionally something from the dearly departed, some nice music (I love that song, by the way), and leave it be!! We don't need an interpretive dance!!! 19 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142764-the-96th-academy-awards/page/12/#findComment-8310219

DollEyes March 11, 2024 Share March 11, 2024 I like Billie Eilish & "What Was I Made For?" is ais a beautiful song, but performance -wise, it was much better on "SNL," with the pictures of "Barbie" cast and crew as children in the background. When it comes to the Oscar performances, in "There Will Be Blood" terms, "I'm Just Ken" drank "What Was I Made For"'s milkshake and threw the glass against the wall when it was finished. 🥤 5 1 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142764-the-96th-academy-awards/page/12/#findComment-8310225
