Katie was seriously THURSTON for Greg ( see what I did there ?)

I actually agree with most of her points but the timing of the conversation was weird . I feel like the Greg convo should have been toward the beginning of the episode and Blake and her should have come out at the end to discuss their engagement . It was awkward that it was right after one another . I get why she was annoyed with Greg and wanted to tell him off but since you are “ happily engaged “ , you might want to put all that passion toward your fiancé and just roll your eyes at Greg . The bitterness really was overboard considering she’s engaged to someone else .

I know that in the heat of the moment Greg is being portrayed as Grumpy, Mopey, and a few other Seven Dwarf names. But, by the time the casting comes along, ABC can turn him into someone with a huge hole in his heart who needs to find the right woman to fill it.

Who did Katie know personally that told her Greg was a cocky guy from jersey who knows he’s the 💩 ? I’m assuming she read that in national enquirer and that she didn’t get that information from a reliable source ( not that I don’t believe it’s true .)

So we find out that Blake is unemployed but when the show is over he'll go to Africa for a while to work for some non-profit. Dude's occupation is Wildlife Manager, isn't it?

And what's Katie's job? I've never thought about her actually being employed. And not sure either one can get back into Canada right now, if ATFR was filmed recently. Or even a while ago. And good luck getting into/out of Africa kids.

Blake was working for the pest control company we use in Oakville, Ontario according to his linkedin profile.. Oakville is not far from his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.

That’s pretty funny that he needs to go to Africa for a month to exterminate Canadian bugs. Sure, Blake. Go to “Africa” during Covid. It’s a big continent and if you really were a Wildlife Manager you’d be specific as to a country or city.

I now officially hate both Blake and Katie. Blake is in love with being well-known now in Bachelor Nation. I think Katie always was into Blake, but she was actually gaslighting Greg. “Just stay, just wait, just trust me” but she couldn’t say she loved him, since she’s the Bachelorette and had three relationships. Well, that didn’t stop her from telling Blake that she loved him, when she was still the Bachelorette and Justin was still there.

I agree with everyone else here who thinks that if she’s so happy with Blake she wouldn’t be so viscerally angry with Greg. He embarrassed her and she changed the narrative.

I’d love Michael to be the Bachelor if he wants to and can keep his son with him.

Katie sounds like a commercial for an insurance company this past year: In this time of change, our corporation is your constant.

“I can’t give you what you came here for.” Dramatic count to 15. “Because you deserve more.” Seriously?! Like a dozen guys in a row just left her and she burned up all of her abandonment issues—and this is how you decide to play it?! I’ve never felt such a pit in my stomach over an “engagement” on this show.

I thought Blake was going to dump Katie which would have been very sad for her.

Wow- if I liked Blake I might feel badly for him between the aunt and the fact that his fiancé DEFINITELY ISN’T IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER MAN. But I don’t like him, so, whatever. Bring on the sleazefest that is Paradise.

1000% - to quote Katie.

I think she broke down and told Blake she loved him for fear he would bolt as well and thus leaving her with one option.

Before tonight, I liked him just fine...even though he's another Production Pawn.  He needs to watch Katie's "performance" with Greg on tonight's show and take my advice, "Run, BLAKE, RUN!  You just saw the real Katie."

I don't like Tanisha & Kaitlyn as hosts.  They look like the bobsy  twins!

Sometime wrong with Kaitlyn.  She looks bad.  Is it her eyes, makeup, facelift that went wrong?

I miss Chris.

Will Blake always feel like second choice?  Blake has a strange walk.  Bow legged?

Kaitlyn is looking a little drag queenish, and neither she nor anyone else knows what she was hired to do. Replacing CH with "girlfriends" was a stupid idea. He managed to rise above the ridiculous premise and guide things along with a straight face. The women just act like  a couple of giddy highschoolers eager to dish on their friends' dates. As for Katie, she was so desperate to reel in a fiance, that she settled for the Canadian pest control guy when she really wanted the wanna be actor Jersey guy. And she's working really hard to convince herself that Blake's the one, when you just know if Greg came knocking, she'd open the door. I give it 6 months.

And, someone should have told Mom and Aunt Lindsay they were going to be on tv. They were dressed for an outing to Walmart.

That was a tedious and long episode. I was looking forward to the BIP preview at the end, but it contained way too much Demi. 🤮

I don't necessarily think that Katie was wrong about Greg having acted with her and planned his exit, but the way she kept ranting about it made her look worse than him. She could have just said something pseudo-profound like "everything happened the way it was supposed to" and left it at that.

4 hours ago, saber5055 said:

Geesh, I just did a google search and Katie's net worth is between $1 and $5 MILLION! Holy CATS! So yeah, she can go to Africa and hang around for a few months.

Do you have a source for that? There was an article when Katie was on Matt's season that she bought all of her rose ceremony gowns second-hand because she couldn't afford to pay full price. There's no way she earned that much from Instagram shilling in the past couple of months, and she almost certainly wasn't paid more than $100k to be one of two Bachelorettes this year.

Yeah...so think of those (like me) who DO think Katie was wrong-wrong-wrong.  There was no need to be so rude, so snotty, so RIGHTEOUS.  She just fell off the face of the earth.  As if "The Franchise" doesn't have enough bad P.R.

Katie goes to her proposal site, surrounded by a landscape of dead trees and dead, dried-up tumbleweeds. Throw some big old pots on a wooden deck and call it a day. Nice.

Show continues to save on its budget. Couldn't even spring for a bouquet of flowers.

I was wondering why they seemed to drive out in the middle of nowhere and then have such a dismal looking proposal site. Wasn't there anywhere nice around the resort to set up?

When I saw her getting out of the car and realized she was going to walk up the road, I thought "this isn't going to go well". Then she started walking up the road in her dress and there it was...... total Pig Pen, kicking up dust.

I don't know why Production felt that One Male Embarrassment required replacing by TWO women.  Tayshia was good; she could continue on her own--but there's no reason for her to be costumed more "flashy" than the Bachelorette.  Give her some attractive business clothes suitable for hosting this type of "entertainment.

I saw on Reddit, they call that maneuver the HUJU (hugging jump). I've never understood why this has become a thing. Do guys really like that? I know I read somewhere that the producers encourage it. I am 5'9-10" and if I ever tried that, I'd flatten a guy or knock him across the room.

I saw how delighted she was when she could put one of the men down a few pegs, I started really noticing how easily she bought into any suggestion of “wrong reasons” behavior and how gleeful she was about exposing those people.  I’m not saying she should have given any of them a pass, but never once did she say to any of them that she was confused about their intentions, she just dove right in with, “You’re a liar and a snake and a horrible excuse for a human being.”

Exactly. I love strong woman. I don't care for mean ones. I thought the way Katie spoke to Greg was OTT.

The way the Bachelorettes and other females in the franchise speak to the mean can be pretty nasty. The audience seems to cheer it on, and the hosts don't ever seem to feel sorry for the guys either.

I miss Chris Harrison, but he was guilty on this front too. Just because a lot of women watch this show doesn't mean we have to applaud everything the girls do.

I felt like they were always just reading the same scripted speeches that CH used. At least he'd been doing it enough years that it sounded more realistic. The 2 girls always seemed stiff and choppy unless they were acting like high schoolers yukking it up.

Nope.  But saying she didn't say something when she did is.

And implying that Greg said or did something he did not is also gaslighting (1938 British Play, "Gas Light.")  Greg was NOT the lighter of the gas!

So Katie is choosing Blake, telling him she loves him, and stopping the process with the other contestant—exactly what Greg asked from her 2 days prior. And yet she’s still going around calling Greg a gaslighter and making him seem like the bad guy. So you could do exactly this with the person you actually love.

Do all the Bachelor Nation posters (Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, here, wherever) even get this?  Please tell me some of them have done a turn-about ... a turn-aboot.

The makes the third episode I've watched of this season.  I was never a fan of Katie's from Matt's season and never a fan of Kaitlyn (who I would probably never have recognized without prior knowledge). The awkwardness of this episode was fabulous.  And, I think the producers had a sit down with Blake to explain that this was it-he would not be able to come back for a fourth bachelorette and he would not be invited to BIP, so this is it or nothing.  I agree with others that he thought she would choose someone else and he could try to repair his broken heart on another iteration of this show.  But, nope!  So, he took it to run with it.

Katie's desire to have revenge on Greg was a misfire IMO.  I know she's going for "I'm a strong woman" but loud and insulting does not represent strength.  Unfortunately, too many people equate rudeness with strength.  Had she remained calm and confident she would have demonstrated strength.  Instead, she tried to blame Greg for every man who has ever left her in her entire life-IMO of course.

Look, I am glad that Rachel is happy and maybe Katie is too, but I just don't understand trying to undermine and/or ruin someone for walking away.  Far better for the wrong person to leave and for one to end up with the right (or right now) person.

While I am looking forward to Michelle's season, I am not looking forward to Tayshia and Kaitlyn as hosts.  Even only watching three episodes this season led me to not enjoying them.  I don't know if there is anyone from "Bachelor Nation" that would be better, but maybe they could look outside of the "nation."

Oh, and while I was looking forward to BIP, maybe not so much now after seeing how much Demi will be in the show. Maybe if they bring Jorge back...

Or friends of people who dated him.  And some of the things they said about the way he'd act when he didn't like something basically played out with Katie; although some of the triggers were things reportedly like what his girlfriend wore.

It's definitely clear that Katie was aware of them and felt like it contextualized whatever she felt she experienced with him.

My guess is that she isn't still in love with him. Her anger was over the feeling of being played. They're all in the bubble.  Then she gets out of it and hears that he went to acting school but scrubbed all mentions of it from his social media.  She hears that he wasn't a newbie to this whole Bachelor idea.  In fact, he had originally been intended for Claire's season.  She reads the tea about how he'd act in past relationships.

And she just got done watching footage of her on her knees begging him to stay even though she feels that if he truly loved her, he wouldn't be leaving after not liking the way she responded to his ILY.

I get it.  I remember being so mad I wrote a letter to a guy who ghosted me and he BORED me.  I'm still a little pissed that I did that 20 years later.  Would I confront him?  Heck no.  But back then, if you forced me to, probably.

I don't know if she's really in love with Blake but I don't think she's still hung up on Greg.

I'll give Katie and Blake 6 months to a year maximum: they're both self absorbed,  fame hungry, and sexually impulsive.  I think that Blake is a player who gets off on the fame/opportunities that this show brings him and I don't think that he'll stick with plain Jane Katie once a ton of attractive influencers and fans get into his DM's.  Katie seems really desperate for an engagement and she looks at Blake with such frenzied desperation and uncertainty; there is zero mystique or poise to that girl.  Blake isn't a prize and she's kidding herself if she thinks he genuinely loves her and is in this for the long haul.

Katie chose Blake because Greg left.

Katie is a victim.

If ABC and BN told Blake that he was going to be the next Bachelor, he would drop insecure Katie and her family of lonely, bitter “strong” women in a heartbeat.
I started the season liking Katie and ended the season hoping Blake would break up with her and leave her standing alone in her dusty green dress.
No more former contestants as host(s). Bring back Chris or find a permanent fatherly or motherly host.
