She was the first black Bachelorette and she works in media now. Like Sunny, she used to be a lawyer.

Maybe ABC is 'trying out" some new women, see how they get along with the other gals

I wouldn't be surprised.  They discussed 2 topics that MM would have either irrationally ranted over or completely dismissed today.  The abortion issue, and the topic on 50% of people saying their current partner was their worst lover.   MM would not have participated in that one and all.

She wouldn't need to. Meghan's too damn angry for Ben to be good in the bedroom.

I thought it was the best show in quite a while, what with the camaraderie among the co-hosts, there being a good mix of topics that are relevant today and some that give a break from politics, and guests I actually liked.

I thought it was a lot closer to the original that BW envisioned and started.  They can also still do topical issues if they can stay away from the party politics part.

What a great show!  Everyone participated, except Whoopi in the sex topic, and even then, she wasn’t obnoxious about it.  This is The View.  I don’t have to agree with everything you say, but we can all state our points of “view” respectfully.  Yay show!!

Edited by jalady
Sunny is still a lawyer as long as she’s paying her Bar dues and fulfilling her CLE requirements. She doesn’t have to be in court every day to be considered a “lawyer”.

Rachel Lindsay is too similar to Sunny (outspoken on Black issues and a lawyer) that I think they must be having her there for no reason in particular--or as PR over The Bachelor possibly?--since I couldn't see them both being on the panel at the same time. Sunny is the best on this show after Joy for me. They would have conservatives there if they wanted to test someone else for McCain's seat.

Not that they have to. After all, they didn't have a problem hiring McCain without testing her out on the show first. *coughnepotismcough*

Oh, crap. Meghan is there to complain again about Fauci.

Right, Meg, you are not an infectious disease specialist, so you should not speculate about anything going on in the Wuhan lab.

Oh Christ I bet Megamouth made them do the stupid emails as a Hot Topic. God, why couldn’t she have taken today off?!?!

Ana is right, the GOP is just using Fauci as a scapegoat and punching bag. The poor guy doesn’t deserve this.

Oh no....I love Ana and always enjoy the show so much when she’s there, but Canada is doing just fine....we’re not desperate for vaccines up here. Our provinces are in charge of vaccines with assistance from Fed Govt. I know a lot of Americans think that Toronto (in province of Ontario) is Canada...and guess what ... Ontario has a conservative government and has mishandled a lot...same with Alberta. But in British Columbia and the Maritimes and we’re managing just fine! I’m happily vaccinated and so are all my friends and family!

Except the point remains that Canada (I'm in Montreal) was well behind in the rollout.

We have to import everything.  We couldn't get much Pfizer in the beginning because of the upgrades to the Belgian plant.  Moderna's shipment delivery has been very inconsistent.  Johnson and Johnson is approved here but not used yet.  Astra Zeneca....well, that's another story.  We couldn't get shots from the USA for a long time due to their America First policy and even now it's been limited. And the delay between both doses was up to 16 weeks.  Just yesterday in Quebec, they announced the delay will now be 8 weeks.

It's only in the past month that there has been some improvement in getting jabs in arms.

That all being said, I did laugh that Ana lost her microphone in her boobs.

See, everything that was great about yesterday's episode is in perfect contrast to today's. When The Princess is away, everyone on the panel is relaxed, happy and laughing. There's actual give and take in the discussions. No "you're wrong, Joy"! Honestly, she is the perpetual wet blanket who ruins everything. Even remotely, the ladies have to walk on eggshells around her.

No one should have to work like that, and I don't care what line of work a person is in. We all know that The Princess inherited her temper from her sainted father. That makes me worried for when everyone is back in the studio. She flies off the handle so easily that I fear she may actually go after someone physically - be it cast, crew or even an audience member. I'm also really tired of her irrational hatred of Dr. Fauci.

ABC, it's way past time to cut your losses. Please, don't bring her back next season!!!

Omigosh!  Ana talking about white privilege of being able to have meltdowns and tantrums and behave unprofessionally and still keeping their job! She’s talking about Meghan, right?

I was giggling so damn hard!!!! Even Princess of privilege knew Ana was referring to her.

Thanks for reading my post, it wasn’t really my intention to open a discussion of how everything was rolled out here in Canada compared to other places. I was just slightly disappointed that Ana, who I really like made such a blanket statement about Canada in general this week on the program. I remember some years ago that Whoopi said something to the effect that we had little to no racism in Canada. I’m sure she was trying to say something nice about Canadians, but we are far from perfect...we share a lot of similar history and attitudes with the US.  I also just find that sometimes the American media thinks southern Ontario is Canada.

Sorry for long winded reply, just want to make sure that I’m following the terms of the site and specifically refer to what I’m hearing on the show.

But isn't southern Ontario Canada?

Her point is that American media seems to focus a lot on the going ons of the Toronto and Southern Ontario area only and not as much to the rest of Canada.  I compare this to an musical artists who says North America tour which equals the USA, Toronto and if you’re lucky, maybe Vancouver.

Since I didn’t see the segment I can only go by what you wrote.  I would suggest to look up stories on border states that WANT to give Canadians a vaccine shot because their own residents are not showing up for them (North Dakota had that in place for Alberta, and there are talks for Detroit pharmacists wanting to do that for people in the Windsor area) but there a lot of legalities about it.

I do think “desperate” is a bit of a strong word to use now. 2 months ago, there would more truth to it.

Apparently, Sinead O'Connor canceled at the last minute so they had to put someone in there.

It couldn’t have too last minute since everybody had cookies delivered to their homes to munch on!

Oh that gets my vote. How flipp'n ridiculous.  This poor man will get harrassed every day for the rest of his career and that's a damn shame for all he has done for US. That US as in you and me, not the United States. But that would probably fit as well.

Rachel Lindsay is a really good guest host

She was great (hint hint TPTB). A great example of what a co-host should be. No need to talk at 100mph, or SCREECH, or YELL, or talk down to the panel. She can be going now.  Bring back Rachel!

Sidenote to YVB, I'm very sorry for your loss

Rachel is an educated, intelligent, thoughtful woman. She's an attorney who talks reality TV gossip.

Meghan is an ignorant, partisan, and immature woman. She is a daughter who talks politics.

What's wrong with this picture? Can we do a switcheroo? Rachel would be great on The View, and Meghan would be better off as an Extra correspondent.

I have a friend in Halifax, who tells me that it has been 102 days since her first vaccine, still waiting for her second.  They are still wearing masks, and churches there are still closed.  I am in PA, we just returned to normal, this week, and I have had a hard time adjusting to NOT having to wear a mask, and walked into Walmart yesterday, maskless, and was surprised how many people had masks on, so I put mine back on.  I had my shots in January and February, so me and my  family, all vaccinated,  felt secure enough to travel to SC in April for our annual trip to the beach.  We were pleasantly surprised on how everyone was compliant, there.  But, mask mandates were still in place.

One a side note, did anyone notice how uncomfortable MM looked when they were discussing internet dating?  Didn't MM meet BD on twitter?  Perfect example on why not to go that route. ;--))!

I love how Joy, Sunny, Whoopi and Ana know so many people in so many fields....Sara not so much but fine. She is a young mother of 3 toddlers. And constantly working...even 2 jobs at once. I love how informed and balanced she is and her humor and glee at life. And her coodles to her husband.

I wonder if Sunny recommended Rachel Lindsay because she was going to be off today? They didn't say why Sunny was absent.

I have a feeling her son Gabe is graduating from high school this weekend - possibly yesterday (Friday). This is a huge weekend for high school graduations, as is the coming week and weekend. That's why she took the day off (my guess).

As already pointed out - they more or less replaced Sunny with a Sunny clone. Yawn.

I love it when Whoopi isn’t there. She adds nothing to the show except flubbing her lines and saying “right, right” every 5 secs while people are talking. It’s gotten to the point where I’m preoccupied by her “right”s and sometimes miss what the other person it trying to say. It’s got to be annoying for the other hosts.

Her son graduated last year. She took her daughter to get her 2nd vaccine dose on Friday.

I thought that was sweet how she made Max to be awesome, when its her fault, too tired etc.  The way she had started that sentence made it seem like she was down on Max, that he was the problem.  So Im glad she fixed that.

Look, every View Panel 'Family' has their Great GrandMother to lead the way.  That is Whoopi. She expounds on life and is willing to share those life lessons.

Then there is the Matriarch.  She is up on current news and willing to step in there (or someone will anyway) and tackle those problems of the people. She guides and advises.  She also makes sure everyone is not hungry and goes home with leftovers.  She will entertain as you are eating, with jokes from the local bent.  This is Joy.

In need of Legal Counsel, or just questions on the Law and the Constitution, Sunny is the one you seek.  She is also kind and compassionate when its comes to the victims. And she'll always have good books to read.

That leaves Sara for the Maternal Earth Mother.  Teaching all the worlds children about climate change and the trees.  When they get sleepy she'll have a lite snack and juice.  She will tell funny stories to the kiddo's and hug tightly when needed.

Next is the Hunter Gatherer Meghan.  She is armed by nature and often gone into the woods for game.  Not afraid of the big animals.  She will bring something home for the club.

Finally, but certainly not last in our hearts will be Captain Ana.  She is running the Security Dept keeping us all safe from foreign and domestic.
