Ok, so what exactly does Carrie do for herself?  She doesn't carry her own purse.  Have we seen her fixing dinner for the two of them?  Lunch for her to take to work?  Laundry?  What does she do besides work?  Chris is working and doing stuff around the house.

Maybe not giving him some is working for her, he keeps trying to please her to get some!

I'm so old I remember when the first season of The Real World came out. And also when MTV actually played music videos.

Me, too.

I used to babysit for a family during summers in college and one day I had turned on the TV while I was waiting for the kids to get home from day camp, and when they got home the 6yo asked "is this VH1? We're not allowed to watch VH1" and I was like, uh...no.... It was MTV.

Another one who doesn't read, watch British mystery shows on Netflix, do crosswords or Sudoku, crochet, knit, do needlepoint, play with her cats, snark on TV shows with strangers on the internet....all she can think of to do is EAT.

Mike Rowe must have a great agent. He has a never ending string of shows and minimal talent. We get it— working with your hands is satisfying.

I give Mike props because he champions the trades and telling people that not going to college doesn't mean you are a failure. We are losing our tradespeople to retirement and need an influx of newcomers. I think a lot of people need to appreciate how work gets done and not put people down because they are plumbers or pipe fitters or work in retail. I say this as a professor and a person who's been surrounded by such elitists in academic environments for decades. It's not meant personally.

Looks like Chris has a job, though. Lord knows they're not spending money on season tickets to the opera.

Or a mortgage. Or a cleaning service.

I’ve read a lot of Tutor history. Not recently, but it was a phase.

I'm totally into the Tudors. Its one of my "things". Like the Elizabethans in general. North Korea, Stalinist Russia, China under Mao, cults, memoirs of crazy childhoods.....

I loled at this because I am a faculty member at a large research university and do you know what the number one topic of conversation on the faculty message board is? Its finding a good plumber, electrician, contractor, etc

Good thing she doesn't watch KDramas on Netflix, because they are always eating delicious looking foods

Mike Rowe started off as an Opera singer, and was in a barbershop quartet.   His first hosting job was on QVC, setting stuff in the middle of the night.

His Mike Rowe Works foundation gives grants to people who are going to trade schools.     He's also the narrator on Deadliest Catch (I hope I got that title right),.    His mother wrote two books that are fantastic, about her mother, and about her husband.    Peggy Rowe became a published author after 80 years old.

In that last scene I had to laugh at the cat's tail sticking out from under the sofa.

The Real World first season was actually good, but by the time of the London cast, it was boring.  I have a theory that The Real World pioneered the idea of "voting people off the  show" when Puck was kicked out of the house.  After that reality shows started and one of the key concepts was voting people "off the island."

 plumbers or pipe fitters

We have a Tech college here for that kind of career and the band Metallica gives scholarships. I dated a guy who did plumbing/HVAC and he made good money. He ended up hooking up with a woman he met on a service call (I guess it happens in real life too, not just porn)

Unfortunately, we've got another snooze fest tonight... I stumbled upon Schnee's youtube channel for some nice entertainment. 🙂

There was a repeat of Joyce earlier today.  You'll remember her for her HUGE pannus riddled with hideous warts and that hostage friend who was paid to do absolutely unspeakable things.  Didn't get surgery.  She claimed she didn't fail the diet, it was the first that failed her.

Best season ever.  And Puck needed to go... Jackhole.

You might like the podcast Crime Writers On...  It's 4 crime writers discussing other media--often about cults and true crime!

I have chocolate milk and three Pepperidge Farm Bordeaux cookies.

Which are totally the first cookies I've had in the last...uh, hour or so.

I forgot to use my "I'm tired and I want a cookie" mug, though.

Stop putting it on him to say no. Stop asking him for the things he should say no to.

I like the pre-queen Elizabeth. Her surviving to adulthood is an example of how smart she was.

Compare to also smart but total pawn/religious zealot Jane Grey.
