  2. Episode's recipes here: Season 14, Episode 11 Post Library Play Group
  3. I was surprised that no one mentioned that that pink windowless room would be nice and quiet without airplane noise. I couldn't believe what Capitol Hill prices were (I'm in California). I just spent the last half hour Zillowing and sighing.
  4. Does anyone else remember when the entire Partidge Family was skunk sprayed and had to bathe in tomato juice?
  5. They met his brother so I doubt it's a cover name. The DA should never make a deal like that without discussing it with the victim's family to know their preferences. Or they should have made immunity contingent on actually finding her body based on the information he provided. As for the FBI, the agent's supervisors likely did nothing wrong. The FBI likely didn't have investigative authority to pursue these cases formally. The FBI can't just investigate whatever they want. There are guidelines about what falls into the federal jurisdiction and these murders likely didn't. Each one was under the authority of the state where they took place.
  6. I actually applaud this development because I am so sick of the never-ending "Kristen is obsessed with Brady storyline." I also kind of just enjoy that Alex likes to have his fun. It would be funny if Kristen transfers her obsessions to Alex, of all people. LOL I actually kind of miss Dimitri but I doubt he's actually coming back. I want to like this DID storyline but there's going to need to be a bit more development of how Bobby and Everett are different from each other.
  7. Three episodes in, I'm learning to be entertained by the bickering and incompetence. This might not last but right now there are still so many teams I can't find any one team or person too annoying and the editors are keeping any bad griping or yelling out of the show so it's all tolerable and amusing. The repeated stair climbing is brutal but hilarious from the couch at home. And the cooking challenge was another good way of slowing them down without just having them do a puzzle. That one pilot was way too serious about getting to the mat. It's leg 3, you're not up for the win or the loss. He could have fallen off the mountain. The twins... I can't.
  8. I vote that she stays with Rafe. I've always liked him the most when he's being a surrogate dad.
  9. Today
  10. Is it appropriate in this forum if I broach the subject of all the constant applause after every single line uttered by anybody (mostly Bill) on his show? I've enjoyed Bill since his Politically Incorrect run, but damn, can't they stop applauding every time he farts?
  11. I think everyone was in a hurry to make SOMEONE the legal guardian, and Cara asked Bode to promise her he'd take care of Gen, so everyone was just kind of rolling along that road. Jake was stunned with grief and not sure what to do, whether he had a right to interfere, etc. Bode was doing his usual thing of hero/rescue. And Sharon and Vince got in over their heads, thinking they were doing the right thing and supporting everybody-- giving Jake time to grieve, taking care of family, following Cara's wishes, etc. People were grief-addled and confused. I actually thought it was a pretty reasonable portrayal of one of the more normal types of post-tragedy confusion, and not even heightened all that much. I mean, people TALKED to each other! They TRIED to be supportive. They worked it out! It didn't even take ten trillion episodes to get there! And they are still all friends. I think Sharon and Vince told Bode last episode that he isn't the biological father, and he said he wanted to be that for her anyway, that he promised Cara and ever since he found out about Gen he's thought of himself as her father and doesn't care that it's not genetic.
  12. They still used the community closet concept (even if smaller closets) for quite a while with the girls and boys. You can see shirts and clothes being worn by different sisters and brothers. There were some episodes where they found their favorites among the clothes a sibling was packing. In the episode with the fire, the majority of all the kids clothing, including the teens, was on hangers and folded in the laundry room.
  13. Per the thumbnail, one daughter (whoever was featured on it - Zoey?), has a blackbelt already. Alyssa's going to have to cool it with the filters, the photoshopping, and AI.
  14. Trace and Lydia went with Jud and Jeb a month or two ago. Trace was working in the yard/outside areas or directing Jud and Jeb to do it while he filmed. I think the younger boys called him out on it. But I will give him credit he was doing work that needed to be done. At the same time he and Lydia delivered one of those lift chairs for Papa Bill and turned it into a commercial. Trace did seem to be very helpful to Bill at Thanksgiving and was sort of directing him through making coffee, etc. It is easier for someone like Trace to do it himself and hand it to Bill, but I can appreciate that he did it in a gentle way that didn't scream out to Bill that he thought he wasn't helpful. He was also good at distracting/refocusing Jane. It was clear others were cooking and she was not necessarily stable enough to be in there. He distracted her with the parade and talked to her. It is good they are going in smaller increments. Papa Bill was pretty well out of it at the ILYD party. It was clear he can't handle being away from home or around large crowds now. He just sort of shut down. For the love of God, I hope Chad can build them a ramp or better stairs. The stairs they have are concrete and probably as old as the house. They look uneven and could be a major issue for an elderly couple. Jane's using a cane sometimes because of a knee issue and arthritis. Bill has had at least one bad fall at some point. I want to sream at them to put in a ramp before someone falls on the stairs.
  15. What an episode! I have to agree with a lot that's been said about it so far. I also thought the show was trying to make young Georgie more like older BBT Georgie by getting him to speak properly. I always thought it was strange that he spoke so differently from the rest of his family. And yes, it was bittersweet to see the East Texas Tech trio of Dr. Sturgis, Dr. Linkletter and the university president. I've missed all of them for a while now and was wondering if we'd see them again. If this was their send-off at least the show did it justice. I hate the thought that I won't be seeing Wendie Malick anywhere anymore as she's been popping up in shows I watch for over 30 years now. And yes to the beautiful chapel at MIT! I've actually been there. That's what happens when you have a husband that's into architecture, specifically church architecture. When we heard it mentioned on this episode we squealed. And yes to the weather in Boston. Living in CT I get to see the Boston area weather on my TV every morning and I know I bitch about the weather here in the Hartford area but I wouldn't trade it for the Boston weather ever. Where I live we might get snow or rain in the Winter depending on the weather pattern but they usually get snow there even when we don't. This episode left me with a good feeling. It was good to have a Sheldon-centric episode for a change even though there was still plenty of "The Georgie and Mandy Show". It's too bad we won't be seeing Sheldon in that series. Or maybe we will every now and then. I haven't come across anything on that subject.
  16. While it was impressive watching Hunter dominate challenge after challenge, it also really proves that if you have someone that dominate physically, you take them out the first time they're vulnerable. It doesn't seem Hunter had a plan beyond "Be immune each week." Sure, he had the +1s alliance, but that really just seemed three guys maybe pulling in a partner each, with the partners maybe not as interested (Tevin was on board, but Tiff didn't seem like it was her preferred final 6. And it's odd Maria was more into it than Tim). Watching Hunter try to scrounge up allies, trying to team up with Venus, who he has treated like dirt since day one. Calling Kenzie his Number One when I'm not sure they've hardly spoken before that. He should have played his idol. Venus, I am getting that she can be a bit annoying and a bit oblivious, but I'm going to need a secret scene to explain why she seems so hated. I do cheer a little each week she makes it through. I wonder what would have been if the one guy willing to work with her hadn't been evac'd. Venus claiming credit for moves is probably annoying, but I find Liz worse, crying over Q stealing the thunder of her move. Others have said it plenty, be the quiet mastermind, reveal it at the final tribal. Kenzie, the brilliant mastermind who wants to claim a big move by blindsiding her closest ally. I don't think voting out Tiff would do her any good except it has the shape of a big move. I do like that there isn't a dominant alliance dictating everything. There was danger of the +1s doing that, but they couldn't make it through a single vote. I think Charlie is playing smart, I'm not sure if tying himself to Maria hurts his game. And I'm not sure Ben does anything besides declaring if something Rocks or does not Rock. And Q, just oh god. If not voted off, I'm glad he's just forced to watch things continue out of his control
  17. Show of hands - how many were absolutely, positively, without a doubt sure that Bode would disobey orders and insert himself into a life and death situation to be the big rescue hero? Everyone? Okey dokey, then.
  18. Jillionth rewatch of Tootsie; as usual I laughed myself sick in all the same places. And thought again of the Oscars, and how Jessica Lange got the Miss Congeniality title of Supporting Actress that year, since no one was going to deny Meryl Streep the top prize. And though I appreciate her Julie, it should have gone to Teri Garr as Sandy. What perfection in the friend-zone role! That hilariously great meltdown before the end, where she finally comes into her own (“I don’t take this shit from friends. Only from lovers!”), is such a tremendous character arc, it should be taught in schools.
  19. While I can agree with this to a point, it seems like a bit of an overstatement. I'm sure there might be some downsides to be found when adapting certain decades-long characters. Just the fact that they have been around for decades seems liable to open those characters to criticism. This is definitely not true. I mentioned earlier how changing the Silver Surfer to a woman could open up new story and character possibilities, while also resonating with the audience in a different way. It's the same for giving Supergirl a darker personality or making her Latina. You have the opportunity to enrich and broaden the story as well as broadening the reach of the characters to gain new fans. I'm sure there are many more upsides. I get why fans of the original versions of characters might be turned off by the changes, but I think you may be overestimating the overall impact and significance of that particular group of fans. It's not the comic book fans who have made these films as successful as they are, it's the general moviegoing audience. Yes, positive word of mouth is helpful, and of course you don't want any section of your fanbase to lose interest and check out, but ultimately it's the movie audience and not comics readers that drive the success of these films. And that has only gotten more true over time. I think that comic book fans should let go of this expectation that the characters they know from the source material will be adapted with such a specific degree of faithfulness. Audiences have evolved over the last 25 years, and so have filmmakers, both commercially and creatively. They aren't bound by the same restraints that they were in the past. It's an opportunity to move forwards.
  20. Oh my god....please stop, I'm going to be sick. Chef's salad everywhere. Subject dropped. *urp*
  21. No! I am so mad at me! But I feel like it was almost surely either a crime drama or a true crime doc.
  22. I’m pretty sure none of this is true. RealityTea is the only site I can find with this information. I listened to a few of Kristen’s podcast episodes and I’m pretty sure they talked about him growing up in the Midwest, and there was no mention of him being a model. Maybe there’s another Luke Broderick they’re confusing him with because I’m almost positive he never lived in Los Angeles before dating Kristen and wasn’t a model.
  23. Your comment reminded me of when I was watching Kelly et el, and I said to my husband, Kelly reminds me of that girl on the Seinfeld episode who had the Man Hands. Lol
  24. According to Joy's latest video, Gideon has asthma.
  25. I was thinking of her today when watching those scenes with Traci and Ashley and she's come to mind during the Harrison drama, too. Nothing specific, really, just how much I enjoyed her presence. What a gift she was.
  26. You may be right. Dan has been on fire lately, top of his game in every scene and quite the joy to watch IMO. He's really made EJ his own.
  27. I guess what bothered me is how appalled he acted because she took a picture of him while they were out together. So what if she sent it to someone (Preston) after texting him that she was hanging with him. They've already been intimate, and it's not like it was a nude picture or pix of him in a bad light. It was just a picture from their outing. No doubt she has half a dozen more. But he defines taking a natural pix as "really weird", which implies a distance from her like... We didn't date, we weren't intimate ... She must have stalked me to take that picture... What's really weird is sleeping with someone and then trying to make it a secret from the world. Step down from your own "weird" ego, bruh.
