His mom set up a circle of safety concerning Tom and she says that Chantelle is in the circle which she calls "Trusted Friends" she also questions posters and if they jump through the hoops then they are placed within the circle.... It's so pathetic... The posters who qualify for admittance to the circle go ape shit crazy and turn into a pack of wolves if anyone dares to say anything about Tom.

 

 

LOL, my dad refuses a Facebook account and eschews all social media.  Why and how these parents of grown ass children get involved in these social media spats is beyond me.  

These are the people with the most wisdom who should be telling their children to get the hell off social media if it's making them this upset.  

How is Tom even making money at this point?  I realize it has to be something connected to the show, but he is barely a bit player.

I want to know, too. They only get paid while filming and it's not a huge amount. Not a livable wage for an entire year. He's not commanding big bucks from sponsors and, at most, probably just gets some spending money from Cameo's. And he doesn't seem to book a lot of private events. Flying to Toronto, flying back to England, renting hotel rooms when not filming... it's weird. Maybe something online that he's embarrassed to admit because it's not glamorous?

Sadly, it looks like her daughter has found all the right buzzwords to avoid accountability.  I don't know what tik tok is other than another social media platform for people to overshare and then complain when faced with negative feedback.  

She is right, she is just a 15 year old girl, overflowing with hormones and emotions.....which is why she should try hard to keep her life private.  If the world saw the stupid shit I did in my teens I'd be mortified.

I agree, the first time I saw one of Aniko's videos I thought she was 18 or 19 because she was dancing so sexy and wearing a lot of makeup like someone older who spends a lot of time partying in nightclubs.... I couldn't believe it when someone said she'd just turned 15.

I can relate to Darcey because of this comment. And I truly believe there’s more to unpack here with her situation...

I was molested as a very young child & then date raped in my teens. In the years between, I was also subject to some very raunchy porn at a very impressionable age. From a very unfortunate & early onset, I had  always 100% thought/believed that having sex was how relationships between men & women were formed. Because of this, I can very easily see how Darcey places her value as a woman & as a partner on the “pedestal” that she does.  She clearly has deeply rooted issues. Most of which are more than likely the result of of an unfortunate, sexually-driven situation at a young age. 

Could also explain her substance abuse issues. There’s clearly something more going on there than just the booze...

I don't think the girls were dancing or acting provocatively in any age inappropriate way. I volunteer as a chaperone for school dances at our middle and high school and her movements were pretty on par with what I've seen there. When I was 15 I was getting down with Ginuine's "Pony" and shaking my ass like the drunk girls dancing in Daytona on MTV's Spring Break. I lived in crop tops. I think Darcey's girls are cute and silly. The difference is that we danced and dressed like that in a controlled environment: school, hometown, vacation with family. Darcey's girls, however, are doing the equivalent of getting down on the presidential inauguration stage. That's where I draw the line. At the very least they're opening themselves up to criticism and judgment. On the darker side...well. You guys know. 

I can't judge Darcey for letting her kids have public social media pages. My kids have been appearing in public videos and interviews since they were babies. They have a bigger fanbase than me. While it might look like I let them do what they want, though, I don't. Every picture and video and live stream of them is heavily controlled by either my husband or myself. We have rules and boundaries. It's all very orchestrated. Darcey sexualizing her girls in a public way and allowing them to publicly act in a way that could be conveyed as sexual (I don't think so, but others do) is totally irresponsible-especially for a woman who knows what social media and gossip zines can do. Why rock the boat and invite that shit in? IMO she's already started sharing her body dysmorphia with them, too. 

Then again, this is the same woman who allows her kids to "take care" of her, uses overt sexuality (and nothing else) to communicate with men, and acts like an engagement is an actual career goal.

I'm so sorry that you've had to suffer and deal with abuse. I appreciate what you've said about Darcy-- it makes sense. I recently found out that somebody close to me had also been abused and kept it secret for over 40 years. I think I can understand her anxiety better and why she made certain choices for her life. If this is the case with Darcy, she needs to get off this franchise and get some real help. I have a soft spot for her, even if her behavior is ridiculous and over the top.
