AimingforYoko May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 “What happens on the planet of Kitson is contagious...and burns.” That really doesn't work on a billboard. Why in the hell would you eat something not knowing what it is? You wouldn't do that on Earth, and we're the same species. I said last week I would start to get tired of the FitzSimmons near misses, and I'm getting plumb exhausted. 17 Link to comment
KittenPokerCheater May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 Daisy and Gemma were less annoying this week, thank the gods. Fitz and Enoch are so much fun, but I'm tired of this whole "let's find Fitz" chase. Get back to Earth already because I like the show better when the team is all together. 9 Link to comment

tennisgurl May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 I love how Gemma and Daisy become every girl at my college sorority after having a few too many jello shots. "I loooooove you your so pretty and brave...." That sequence sure did seem very Fear and Loathing, and while it went on a little too long, I was just happy to see people on this show having a bit of fun and getting to smile a bit. The last few seasons have been so grim and depressing, its nice to remember what people on the team look like when they smile. Poor Enoch and his existential crisis. I do enjoy him and Fitz a lot, it sucks that they've been apparently separated. And Fitz and Gemma were so close!! I am seriously hoping it wont be a whole freaking season of them almost being reunited only to be torn apart at the last minute. That just makes me already want to tear my hair out. So maybe the people chasing Fitz in space and Sarge and his people are from the same faction? Maybe they're some kind of time police chasing time anomalies, or time bounty hunters or assassins? In that case, those guys are really gonna have their hands full soon... 14 Link to comment
DavidJSnyder May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 How do the space people know about Terrans enough to look down on them? thuganomics85 May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 I do think they should have spent a little more time establishing that they were desperately hungry, because yeah, automatically eating alien food without any kind of tests just seems like a bad idea. Just because you look similar to the aliens on the outside doesn't mean the insides are the same! Still, even if it went on a little bit long, I enjoyed Daisy and Simmons tripping out. It seems clear that Chloe Bennet and Elizabeth Henstridge really do love working with one another, and their chemistry and interactions were spot-on. Loved all of their ramblings and insights. And I'm glad that the writers clearly know their characters, because, yes, Simmons is totally a Ravenclaw (although I do think some Slytherin slips out of her whenever she is focused on Fitz!) Aww, Enoch! He really wants to be a good friend to Fritz and be useful, but those pesky sentients are so hard to figure out! And now he believes he has lost his place in his world. I do hope their is a more permeant place for him with SHIELD! Joel Stoffer really has been shining in this role. Continue to love that Piper and Davis continue to have a substantial role so far. Nothing better happen to any of them! Fitz suddenly getting capture again was a letdown though. I get that Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge are awesome and can really sell drama, but the hardship this show puts both of them through is getting out of hand. Stop it! Sarge is clearly up to no good! 13 Link to comment

AnimeMania May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 I kind of liked this, I could even suffer through the comedic consequences of eating the "rainbow LSD laced fortune cookies". If I hadn't seen how wonderful May's fight scene was last week, I wouldn't have realized how crappy Daisy's fight scene was this week. None of her punches and kicks had the weight of realism behind them. It was just a well choreographed dance, maybe the camera just wasn't at the right angles to sell the action of the scenes. 4 Link to comment
Lantern7 May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 (edited) I'm not sure if "wacky" was the right direction for this season. tv echo May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 (edited) This episode, especially the background techno music for the Kitson scenes, reminded me of the Sakaar segment in Thor: Ragnorak. I did like the Enoch comedic scene. I also liked watching the Fitz/Enoch and Daisy/Jemma scenes better than last week's back-on-Earth story with Sarge . However, I'm having trouble getting into this season for some reason. I guess I'm already tired of the Fitz search, especially if it's going to be drawn out over a long period, as well as the drawn-out mystery of what the Sarge gang is doing on Earth. I also just don't like the Sarge character - and not because he's a bad guy. I barely found Clark Gregg credible as the director (leader) of SHIELD. I find him impossible to believe as the Big Bad. Lady Calypso May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 After how intensely dark last season was, having this episode be more comedic was needed. I didn't love the episode, and I felt like some moments went on too long, but it wasn't all that bad. Seeing Jemma and Daisy getting to laugh and have some fun was great. Seeing Fitz and Enoch bond was great. Davis/Piper scenes were great. I am tired of the FitzSimmons separation stuff, though. I was hoping the show would actually be smart and have them reunite quickly and stay together. No such luck. 11 Link to comment
dwmarch May 25, 2019 Share May 25, 2019 After how angsty everyone has been, the comedy was refreshing. Daisy: I am TRIPPING BALLS! I loved stoned Daisy and Simmons, fumbling their way down the stairs, having an "I love you" moment and sitting under a table for twenty minutes. Got a kick out of the bouncer with a heart of gold who told Simmons that a nice girl like her shouldn't be in a place like that. I also loved Enoch's casual suggestion that he and Fitz go work in the brothels to make money. Apparently he is "fully functional". His meltdown was low-key hilarious as well. Before season 4, would Fitz have thought of cutting a dead guy's arm off so he could make an improvised explosive out of the blood? Dr. Leopold certainly wouldn't have hesitated. Speaking of cruelty upgrades, Daisy can now use her telekinetic powers to selectively break bones. 10 Link to comment

MisterGlass May 26, 2019 Share May 26, 2019 I didn't realize how ready I was for a break in the drama until the puffs hit Jemma and Daisy. I thought they were delightfully funny, and Davis was too. I can pretend they have been eating alien food for long enough without negative experiences that they let their guard down. Poor Enoch was both sweet and funny with his head resting dejectedly on the table. Nice touch to have what Fitz was smearing around the door out of focus in the background at first. I had that momentary thought "is that an arm?" and then they focused in, and yep. I'm hoping that by episode five they'll be back together, having at least temporarily escaped the chronocoms. They've done partial season arcs, and hopefully this will be one. At least they have Enoch now. 7 Link to comment

Mellowyellow May 26, 2019 Share May 26, 2019 Enoch is so adorable. Poor darling I hope he's able to find a place for himself. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It managed to be fun and comedic but also stressful at the same time. I can't pick my favourite moment. Enoch suggesting he and Fitz work in the brothels or Jemma using Daisy's arm to aim and shoot. Those were pure gold! I feel like the writers are having a bit of fun at the Fitz and Jemma separation now. It is mean of them but I am now expecting near misses until the end of the season. I don't want it but I feel like they are treating it as almost a joke at the rate they are going. My husband is pretty pissed about it though! 1 9 Link to comment

Are there a bunch of other humans (besides I guess Star Lord and Captain Marvel if we’re still in some variant of the MCU) who’ve gotten into space somehow and are giving Earth a bad reputation? My take on it is more from a Star Trek angle. Basically Earth (Terrans) are new and inexperienced. They are like a planet that just achieved warp technology. They don't know how things work and therefore appear "dumb" to the other alien species. The fact that the other alien species have had little to no contact with them as well causes them to look down on them. This probably will change over time but it'll take a while. Quill grew up in space, so he's more of an exception as he already knows the rules (such as don't eat the candy) and doesn't get judged as being a Terran. Anyhow, I agree with those who said that tripping sequence went on way to long. I would have had it more be they tripped out and Jemma/ Daisy have a cute scene. I would have cut it in half as the point was made. One think about that though I thought "she's a Ravenclaw" before Jemma even said it :). I am also sick of they are almost together but something quickly separates them trope. I actually for a minute there thought Fitz and Simmons would have more then a few second conversation before the guy catches Fitz. I hope they are finally reunited next episode. Anyhow, I loved the gambling scenes. The planet was like a much darker version of Risa. Anyhow, good episode. I have to admit maybe an opinion of one, but this storyline in general is way better that the evil-coulson stuff. So far that is kind of boring. Maybe once these characters are added to it will improve. But as a Trek fan, I'm enjoying seeing the space stuff. 5 Link to comment
tessaray May 26, 2019 Share May 26, 2019 I keep forgetting the show is back but enjoyed catching up. This one was lots of fun. Daisy and Gemma were too cute and I hope Enoch ends up a permanent part of the team. While I haven't minded portals to wherever in earlier seasons, personally I'm not really feeling the space settings - it isn't what I watch SHIELD for. So from that perspective, I think I liked last week's episode more. I'll be happier when the team is back together, protecting the Earth. On Earth. 3 Link to comment

Samwise979 May 26, 2019 Share May 26, 2019 A couple of posters have mentioned that they should have known better than to eat some unknown alien food but, to me it seemed like they couldn't help it. SnoGirl May 27, 2019 Share May 27, 2019 I really liked this episode because the show sort of got back to its goofy roots. We even saw a rare Fitz smile! I wish Fitz had even read the room a bit with Enoch. I miss kind Fitz, and even though Enoch and Fitz were bonding, I though he was still mean to Enoch. I want to rewatch the season before last and then a little of last season to remember what mindset Fitz was in when he went into the ice. Also-I would DIE to see Hunter’s face hearing Fitz say Enoch is his best friend. I’m still holding out for him to show up with Deke. Loved that Jemma got yelled at by the team, and that Daisy even got heated. But then I also liked them stoned together. Jemma aiming Daisy’s blasts was genius. I also liked Daisy’s fight. It was sloppy and a lot of flailing limbs, which fit the idea that she was fighting high. I hope everyone sobers up quick. I’m not a fan of space, as I know its the budget but everyone looked pretty Terran at the bar. I want crazy aliens! I know we’re not going to get it, so I can’t wait for everyone to get home. I also want the just want the team together. 3 Link to comment

Cranberry May 28, 2019 Share May 28, 2019 I would have watched an entire episode of Daisy and Jemma tripping balls, not gonna lie. This show's been grimdark for so long that I really enjoyed laughing at it again, and it's clear the actresses just love working together. Those scenes were bright and colorful and fun. I like Fitz and Enoch, too. Drier humor but still quite funny. 12 Link to comment

Kel Varnsen June 3, 2019 Share June 3, 2019 Other than the end tag with Sarge, it seemed like the entire episode took place in boring, dark, windowless grey rooms which has never been a good sign for this show. Overall I am hating this space stuff, like I said in a previous episode it is way too Star Treky (but in this case much cheaper looking) which is generally a show I wouldn't watch. Especially because in the MCU, the 'H' in SHIELD stands for homeland. The Daisy and Gemma high stuff was fun, but that was about it. Why is she fighting at all when she has super powers. Just quake them from the start and be done with it. Also in that last casino game, why does losing mean you become a slave but losing can also mean you get killed? It makes no sense and just means that the house kills someone who's only value us being a slave. 1 Link to comment
VCRTracking June 3, 2019 Share June 3, 2019 Aargh! The writers do like torturing us with the near-misses don't they? I definitely think they were influenced Thor Ragnarok with the 80s synth score and some of the vibe with the casino. I wish they went all in with the bright colors instead of dark, industrial settings again . It made sense in the future old station on Earth. Loved Daisy and Jemma tripping and bonding. I wonder if they considered just putting Iain's face on a monkey digitally but thought it was more fun to put him in a costume! Enoch's existential crisis reminded me of a similar one a character went through on The Good Place which made me laugh. 2 Link to comment

Jack Shaftoe March 28, 2020 Share March 28, 2020 (edited) Oh, no, the universe separated Fitz and Simmons again! Who could have seen that twist coming? The space setting is embarrassingly bad (and the lighting was too dark once again) and the premise of Daisy, Jemma and Davis getting high after eating some alien food was dumb. But I will take any excuse if it means that the characters are actually shown to have fun rather than angsting and Daisy and Jemma sure delivered in spades. The last time a couple of characters were so fun to watch was probably Yo-yo and Mack destroying robots and quipping about punishing Radcliffe by forcing him to watch Terminator Salvation. More of that, please, and less angst and torture. Hopefully with less flimsy excuses, though because the characters can't get high every other episode.
