Those photos are from when Kody and his "family" came to visit when Avalon was just a few weeks old.  I don't think they have covered the birth yet on the show but when they do, we can be sure there will be a big production made of it the visit.

To me, all this means is that these grifters read/follow at least some of the social media that's out there. We all know Kody only cares about Robyn and her crew. New season must be on the way if Mykelti is posting this.

Could be that they were not posting the photos, because of filming.  Or maybe Mykelti just wanted them to be private.

*Shudders* Oh dear, a season featuring Mykelti and Tony.  😔  Well, at least the snark will be good!

So true, but speaking from my own perspective, if we have to witness another birth episode I would rather watch Mykelti/Tony go through the process.  Mykelti is unlikely to condescendingly explain what the terms are for various stages of labor as Maddie felt compelled to do.  Tony will be more animated than doofus Caleb was and Mykelti took to motherhood without a single whinge about how HARD it is to find balance in her life after giving birth.

Oh, quite true.  Maddie can be just as insufferable as Mykelti, and just as condescending as Christine.  As for Caleb?  Well, he is the Brown family's Chosen One, and perhaps the deeply guarded reason fir that is how well he took care of his extended family when that man died (wasn't that Kootie's brother) a few years ago? In reality, should that  have been Kootie's responsibility, rather than that young man's?  Who knows with this family?!?

Anyway, my issue with Mykelti is that she often speaks with her nose stuck up in the air and sounding like she's got marbles in her mouth. However, she does seem to be a good mom.

I JUST CAN'T STAND Tony. He's right up there with Kootie for me, and that's saying something! I can still ponder how such two apparently nice, calm, and normal people such as Tony's parents can have such a one-off child.  🤔

I glad that there's others who can take one for me and let me know the goings on the next season.  😝

She says "When Miss Avalon was a few weeks old my dad, Robyn and Breanna & Aurora were able to come meet her and stay with us for a few days. Since that awesome bonding experience we’ve been able to see each other and continue to have Avalon get to know them all every few months. It’s amazing to watch my siblings and parents love on my daughter. So happy we’ve been able to continue to strengthen and foster our relationships together."

Perhaps in response to comments by viewers that Kootie never seems to visit, since we had seen Christine's & Janelle's whole families visiting Mykelti, Tony & ToyotaAvalon (without Kootie).

It's amazing to me what the older Brown girls will do to curry favor with their father.  Mykelti must have been aware of the neglect shown to her mother and yet she entertains Kody and his real family "every few months".

It’s time Maddie retires from the show, but she probably won’t with Evie’s issues. TLC loves that stuff. I don’t mind more of a focus on Mykelti. At least she’s fun and genuinely content and enjoying her life. (Unlike Maddie with her constant whining)Unfortunately, she does bring Tony with her…

To this day, I am absolutely mystified and confused about why Mykelti chose him of all people…. They don’t seem to have a lot in common apart from a love for a laid back , content and easy life. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but I fail to see anything attractive in that man.
Last week, somebody shared a few recent pictures of Mariah in her thread. She is starting to remind me of Tony: both being seriously overweight, pretty unkempt and neither seems to give a damn about it.

🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe Tony treats her well.  I mean I don’t know either of them but they both seem kind of quirky, so maybe they just clicked.  Mykelti probably saw her parents’ marriage as either absent/non-existent or chaotic whenever Kody was around so maybe Tony being laid back was a nice change.

I agree about Maddie, I’m tired of her and Kody’s fawning over Caleb.

Meh, Christine was hardly a perfect parent, and I suspect there is a lot with this family that we don't see. Christine despised Robyn coming in as the newer and younger wife, but had no issue when she herself did the same thing to Janelle. Christine had no issue with polygamy until she got jealous of Robyn, and then she started rewriting history and claiming she was always unhappy.

Christine can be immature and petulant and overly emotional. Kody is an ass, so Mykelti didn't really score in the parent department either way. I'm glad Mykelti has good relationships with both her parents at this point.

I guess all Brown kids, save Robyn’s, unanimously believe their parents were idiots for wanting this. They have accepted it and each kid deals with it in their own way.
I suspect  Mykelti sets the terms of the relationship she has with her dad though. She's probably happy to have them (a little) in her life as long as Kody and Robyn let her be and don’t try to dictate the rules.

Robyn wouldn't let herself look like that.  Her hair is done and she wears makeup for filming.

Like a lot of people, Robyn actually looks better more natural and spontaneous and less made up. So does Kody. I'm curious whether them meeting Avalon will be shown in the next season (if there is one). It would be nice to see more actual reality and not just the exaggerated drama TLC puts out there for ratings. I assume they filmed Mykelti giving birth, but we'll see.

No midwife* will accept someone for a home birth when having twins, the risk for complications, and thus liability claims, is just too high. So it will be a hospital birth and most likely a c-section, though there are cases where women insisted on a natural birth when having twins and succeeded. Still in hospital though.

* Save maybe Maddie's totally irresponsible midwives at that birth centre! That's one thing I will never ever understand: The scans revealed Evie had several medical issues, so a qualified OB and pediatrician should have been present at that birth in a hospital. Those babies usually need specialised care and even when they seem healthy, they need to be properly assessed by someone who knows what he's dealing with.

I don't know what those midwives were thinking when accepting Maddie. I can only assume they have an absolutely amazing insurance and one brilliant lawyer agency on hand to deal with claims that arise from such lack of judgement!

He has a psycho look in his eyes.  And PLEASE do not film the births.  Never watch them just like I never watch any sort of medical thing on tv.  I don't need to know these people THAT well.

Your comment made me think of something that happened to me years ago: my colleage had given birth and invited us to come and meet her new born son. For lots of good (and not so good) reasons, we couldn’t make it until…15 months later. The little boy was in his mother’s arms when she opened the door and cheerfully shouted “Hi!” 😂

I looked that up after hearing she was pregnant with twins and yes there are many that have a home birth with a midwife.  I believe it really depends on how the pregnancy progresses and the visits to the midwife and as long as everything is okay,   But I would opt for a hospital birth.

That’s interesting @Pickleinthemiddle…  Where I’m from, pregnancies and births are considered normal and natural: it’s not a medical condition and under normal circumstances medical care is not needed nor given. (apart from the midwife)  It is highly encouraged here to have your baby at home with a midwife and not in a hospital. Pain relief, such as epidurals are not standard and you definitely cannot ask for a c-section because you want one.

But… any twin-pregnancy or an ultrasound revealing medical issues, will automatically mean you’re excluded from this. It will land you a referral straight away and you’d have to give birth (or have a c-section) in hospital. Maddie would never have been allowed to give birth at a centre and the same goes for Mykelti.

It does make me wonder about the American midwives who accept these women for home births… they must have a really good liability insurance in place. If anything goes wrong, it’s all too easy to point to the midwife saying “you knew it would not be easy!” I doubt I’d be willing to take that risk!

Well we have 50 states and each have their own rules regarding everything.  Only about 8%-10% of American births are with midwives.  It just went out of favor over the last 100 years with the improvement of medical school training of doctors.  Plus the high cost of medical malpractice insurance for midwives is also very high.  I think many women feel like being in a hospital setting is better in case something goes wrong.

It seems like most of the home births with midwives involve religious groups.

The Duggars are a good example of that and on top of having home births they also want as many births and kids as possible with as little doctor/hospital involvement as possible, makes me sick.

I said “It seems like” because I don’t know that actual statistics but it sure seems like the majority are religious.

If the men were having the babies I suspect instead of “19 kids and counting” it would have been “1 kid and we’re done!”

Kody and his gang are the same.

I think some women equate home births with no pain relief to being more of a “real” woman than their counterparts who go to a hospital and aren’t in agony for hours. I had pain relief with both of my kids and I loved it and told everyone how great it was.

I think it’s funny that the same women who refuse pain medication probably take a Tylenol for a headache and I’ve never heard of anyone wanting to pass a kidney stone with no drugs because it’s more natural.

If any of the Brown girls has a chance to successfully do this and enjoy it, it’s Mykelti. A toddler and twins is going to be a lot of work and if you do not want to go mad, you need to be a bit laid back (keep calm and carry om) every now and then. She’s like that and she seems to fully embrace motherhood too. Maddie would go absolutely mad, as would Gwen (Aspyn would be fine too but Robyn’s girls would freak out)
