2018 Season 13 Current Squad & Social Media

Re: Caroline. She doesn’t get a lot of attention here, but judging from social media, she seems to be a favorite among the rookies.

I don’t even remember her at all. But my memory isn’t great for these girls.

I watched part of the last episode of the season but couldn’t get past the Malena cut. The juxtaposition of her crying and saying “no, I know I can do this” and Judy saying something like “Gee, golly, they think is cutting them on the last day is a bad thing.” Then the happy team announcement, was just not something I enjoyed.

I doubt I’ll ever watch this season or last season again.

I thought so from day 1, but we'll see!

@rose711, I think part of why I like Caroline so much is because nobody seems to remember her :)  And I couldn't agree more with  “Gee, golly, they think is cutting them on the last day is a bad thing.”   LOL noooo, it's a great thing, it's just as good as making the team!  I agree with that one girl several seasons ago who said that she'd rather have gotten cut early instead of being allowed to stay & get her hopes up...and yeah, I remember Judy getting pissed and sarcastically saying something like "Well then I apologize for fighting for you"

That would be nice!  Obviously I love Brennan (see above LOL), but my very close other favorites are Caroline & Bridget.

Same! They both seem so warm and lovely. Cianna and Hannah too. Not sure why so many of this year’s rookie class seems more down to earth than in years past, but I like it!

I'm happy to see Rachel have an opinion.  She should be able to speak her opinion.  We live in America in which we have a great justice system in which the burden of proof is beyond a reasonable doubt.  Trust me I have tried over 170 jury trials..........that's a huge burden.  So she retweets someone asking for evidence in a political situation and we are going to denounce her?

A mere allegation of sexual assault does not make for a conviction.  I spent years as a sex crime prosecutor and every jury I was in front of wanted evidence...........which at times was just the victim's testimony which may be enough based on details.    I am not going to weigh in to the subject Rachel W was speaking on but she absolutely has a right to her opinion.

Quite frankly, I am happy to see a DCC express themselves more than just trying to push a modeling career or being a social influencer etc.  If you do not like her opinion, that is your choice but  she is not vile for expressing an opinion that many people across the country have divided views of.

Well this is what I don't get about DCC's media/interview training stuff they show on CMT. They do seem to ask politics related questions, but do they expect the girls to express a view? And if they express a view, is it supposed to be line with the "official Dallas cowboys" political stance (e.g. with the kneeling etc)? It doesn't seem clear from the show whether that is encouraged.

Yes I can see the girls should be entitled to express their views without judgment but from a PR point of view it could be a bit of a nightmare and prove to be very divisive- whether that is expressing a liberal view that people might hate or vice versa. If I was in charge of PR for DCC I would encourage everyone to stay away from politics.

Politics (whether conservative or liberal) can be divisive, that's why I was surprised Rachel was open on twitter about it- will be keeping an eye out to see if she goes into TV/news though, it's quite an interesting theory since I can't see her doing the Kalyssa ("maxim" model) or Holly P ("specialist"? dancer) route and suspect she will want to do a bit more than being a local dance instructor...!

I think the difference comes in HOW one expresses their opinions. I have a well balanced group of friends in their political beliefs, but none of them retweet or share opinions of others that haven’t been researched and vetted.  It’s not so much the value set that’s the issue for me, but more how it’s shared.

It’s one of the things I most dislike about social media...false information is easily shared and if it’s done in a professional enough font, it’s accepted as fact.

Rachel can have conservative views and choose not to believe testimony given, and give support to someone she found credible, but sharing false information about the testimony was troubling to me. Considering she’s a public figure through her title and DCC position, I’m surprised she isn’t more cautious about this balance.

Long story short... @LaurenBrook you’ll be well missed if you leave this forum, and I would hope a political difference of opinion isn’t that driver.  You seem to be the sort that leads by example, and your graciousness and manners would be missed.

Personal politics are off limits.

You may discuss the DCC's political leanings, but be mindful of your words because this isn't the place to talk about your own.

Hint:  If a reasonable person would be able to tell what political party you belong to by reading your comment, you post it at your own risk. Removals & warnings will ensue for those who violate this rule.

If you see anyone posting their personal political leanings, don't call them names... report the post and the moderation team will review it.  Report - don't engage.

Just my opinion, I think they should be trained in how to deflect such questions.  But honestly, are people who are out there meeting the DCC really asking them for their political views?  I'm sure many of you are on Facebook...if you go through the questions they get on live chats, you're not going to see political questions.  They're always asked stuff like "How much do you practice?" "What kind of dance classes do you take?"  "Who's your favorite Disney princess?" "Diet secrets?"   (I won't mention the pervy comments they get LOL, but they're pervy, not political).

They would probably prefer the DCC stay away from divisive topics, but as long as it isn't openly affecting the Cowboys or the DCC, they're probably not going to bother censoring personal twitter/instagram/social media accounts. Now, if something was picked up as a news story & was, or had the potential to be, a PR headache, they might pull in the reins & tell the person to delete or make the account private.

Completey agree. It would be interesting to see them do a segment on "how to deflect controversial questions/issues" on the show!

I think it's the potential of being asked political/controversial type questions by reporters more than fans. Not sure how often they're actually interviewed by reporters but, yes, they definitely need training in deflecting questions/giving "politician" type answers.

I’ll delete to stay away from politics, but I’ll just say, Rachel is not a victim. If Kalyssa, Jenna, Holly, Erica, Keyra, Cassie, Cersten, etc can be disliked for what’s on their social media, I’m not sure why Rachel is an exception, especially since the things she’s tweeting actually can touch people’s lives. Kalyssa running around naked affects no one on the other hand ...

This right here. All those other girls are not trying to influence anybody to think any way, well except obviously Rachel and maybe even Erica in advocating for whatever she was trying to prove, and she didn't even do that while being a DCC.

Definitely purposefully chosen, IMO. Not like Rachel is eating Paula Deen food. Did these bios come up before or after Halloween?

This is cute.  And I just realized the kids do the "I'm a stripper I'm a slut" move :)

Ok I enjoyed that, and she did a good job teaching that and her choreo is age appropriate...BUT....it just proves to me Maddie still looks like a little girl more than a DCC. Fits right in with those children. And the two up front are outdancing her. Ok y'all can start throwing Halloween candy at my head at any time LOL.

I think I really would have liked Maddie on a Disney show or something like that, but still blows my mind that she's a DCC.

Also THIS IS A GREAT, SIMPLE, HALLOWEEN COSTUME, MADDIE. Good choice that time.

AMEN! I also think 'sexy hips' are the complete opposite of sexy, and it overused as every other sideline dance.  It's like someone coined the term in 1987 and it made the permanent DCC Dictionary along with 'fluff and puff' and 'yes, no, maybe"

Haha I was watching the Cowboys game the other night and my boyfriends said, "what are the cheerleaders doing?" I said sexy hips. He said there wasn't anything sexy about it.

I think Rachel will stay as long as she gets benefits or connections from DCC. I think she likes dancing too but I think she wants to use DCC to move ahead in life.

God I hope not. It's one thing to be conservative , but between her over the top twitter, the Paula Deen answer and posting pics of herself with darkened skin for Halloween all over instagram, I would say she is intentionally trying to be controversial, which is obnoxious.

I actually paid attention to the girl's profiles for once. The question about who they said they would want to have dinner with (famous person, dead or alive) is interesting lol.  Some of the responses:  Ashlee (Maya Angelou), Kashara (Dolly Parton), Brennan/Tasha/Vet Rachel (Ellen DeGeneres), Rachel W (Paula Deen....), Bridget (the Dalai Lama), Gina (Jackie O), Khalyn (Snoop Dogg lol), Lauren (Princess Diana), Briana (Oprah, Michelle Obama, or Meghan Markle), Alanna (Elvis).

All of the people in the world to have dinner with, and Rachel W picks Paula Deen. ?‍♀️ I mean, Paula’s opinions aside, she’s not even that great of a cook. ?

For those of you who watched the two hour special - remember Whitney Ott's little girl, Scout.  She attended a Michelle Keyes dance class last week and Michelle posted a video on her stories.  That girl is a chip off the old block.  I think she's in her early teens now, but WOW!!!  She can dance:)

YES SHE CAN. Sings a little, too. I wonder if she'll go DCC route or skip that and do something elsewise in entertainment.

1. Absolutely.

2. I mean..it's on her personal Twitter which isn't affiliated w/ the organization at all. I think they create the girls' own DCC handles to be safe and not necessarily allow the girls to align themselves with any beliefs that are different from that of the Cowboys organization.

Angela turned down appearances because she had one of those real actual jobs DCC claims everyone has. Her last year, she and her husband made a decision for her to cut back at work so she had availability for show group.

Who knows the really reason she did not make show group, but the edit in that episode was a horrible edit for TPTB. It makes it look like they were punishing her for having a job.

Yeah I did not like what they did to Angela in that whole scene/segment.  They had her talk about how much she wanted show group, complained about her turning down appearances as a reason to not give it to her - then they filmed her disappointment and let that rude guest choreographer call her out like that.  Way to treat a 6 year vet, DCC!

Between her and Jenna it goes to show that coming back for that final swan song year hoping to get an experience you’ve been missing out on your entire time on the squad doesn’t necessarily end well.   I know Jenna made some serious mistakes that messed her being point up, when all Angela did was assume she’d get on SG based on seniority, but still - they both probably wished they had just retired a year earlier cause they certainly didn’t get the final year they were hoping for.

Likely sitting at my table for one, I didn't think the guest choreographer did anything wrong...in fact I thought Angela deserved it.  When you're performing, seriously, no one cares if you're having a bad day, you suck it up and perform.

That whole episode annoyed me a bit. One, I don’t like that they apparently hold it against girls at show group auditions if they’ve turned down appearances in the past. It shouldn’t matter - maybe the girl had a different job then, or maybe she simply plans to take more appearances if she’s actually on show group. Obviously, if Angela couldn’t commit to appearances for that current year, fine, that’s relevant, but its not how it was presented.

Two, I just felt like it wasn’t the choreographer’s place to go after Angela like that. Perhaps I’m remembering it being worse than it was bc I didn’t like the choreographer, but I think I would’ve been annoyed had the same comments been made to a rookie who was struggling. She’s not a former DCC, she’s not Kelli or Judy (or anyone with authority) and she’s not even a well-known choreographer. I get critiquing dance, but her criticism seemed to go beyond that.

I never liked Angela :)

It's very possible the scene was subsequently edited (there are older episodes out there where I know certain things happened that are not shown now), but I rewatched this episode about a month ago, and all the choreographer pretty much said was the thing about nobody caring if you had a bad day when you're performing, and I didn't think she said it in a nasty or condescending way.  In my mind, the way Angela was behaving she needed to be reminded of that, and in my opinion it didn't have to be a former DCC or person in authority to give that reminder.

I wouldn't mind hanging out with Ina Garten.

Yep!  And if I recall, it was Loren who answered it with "Well, they're mine" :)  She's not the only one we've seen Kelli ask that question to....I'm not sure what the difference is, they're the size they are whether natural or store-bought.

I can't remember which one it was but another time Lisa said, "You wanted your bust to match your backside?" and a blonde TCC said yes.

What’s up!? I’d just like some props because I was unspoiled (never again!!) and I just finished reading the entire spoiler thread.  Took, what,... 2 weeks to read it all. I’m glad to be done, and hope I can join you here!!

VK just posted a video on IG and she’s looks thin. Unfortunately, she’s doing lyrical, which is the last thing she needs to be spending any time on.
