Kelli calling her courageous. Really?   And there have been many 18 year olds who handled themselves beautifully...and without demanding constant talking-head time.  Kinzie comes to mind.

If she comes back....who am I kidding?  WHEN she comes back, CMT better treat her like Brennan, under the radar.  I canNOT  deal with another season of the DCC MTT VK show.  ?

If VK  is focused on next season as she was this year, I will not be watching the show.  I also wondered if they prepared her for the cut so she came across in a positive way, as  we did not see this side of her all season.

My husband does: IT Specialist with the VA. I am very proud of him!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the producers told her she had to sum up what she and her husband were doing to an audience for the CMT.  So, she put it in words most people could understand.  We work for the government in foreign locations and move around from post to post (aka diplomats).  Most government employees call them the diplomatic staff.  I don't think she was trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes, but was trying to avoid spending 5 minutes explaining the roles of various levels of workers.

They both work for the US Embassy. Randy does something with information technology, has special clearance and might work with other agencies like DEA, CIA, etc...he ain’t just fixin’ computers. Meredith works directly with the US Ambassador and is often escorting visiting dignitaries and diplomats.

The requirements for traveling overseas as a federal employee regarding IT usage are crazy.  There are so many things you have to do/ not do with your devices.  I can see the role for IT security to help secure transmissions in and out of the embassy.  He could spend all day with cell phones alone.  I can also see how Meredith would be a great person to interact with dignitaries.  She spent years training with DCC!

I finally gave in and bought it from Amazon so now I’ll own it twice. I can’t believe it’s Sunday and still no iTunes episode. Of course,  now that I bought it on Amazon, it will pop up on iTunes shortly.

As for VK, I can’t believe Kelli had the guts to tell her she needs to come back and she will get a uniform on tv. That girl literally lied about using the resources you gave her and blew off Jinelle. Even if weight and dancing can be improved (which I don’t believe, she spent 2 years attending every single prep class and a full summer of tc and she’s still bad or mediocre at best), lying and acting unprofessionally shouldn’t be taken lightly. And i’m sorry, but she’s not even beautiful. Her mouth is very distracting.

It's almost like Kelli had a separate speech just for VK. For any other cuts she would say the usual  "We're out of time, We've seen all we can see, You're not ready" etc..

iTunes is pissing me off right now.  From what my admittedly limited research shows. the generic Apple contract with content providers requires that shows be submitted to iTunes within 24 hours through a semi-automated process.  This means CMT should have provided Apple with the content by no later than Friday night, but who knows what happened and why Apple either doesn't have it or hasn't posted it.  Granted, this is very dependent on exactly what kind of contract was signed with each content provider and when the content creators and TV stations consent said release to third party stores.  However, this doesn't explain why Amazon already has the content up through their services and Apple doesn't.  Both are considered to be big names in their respective niches and both do streaming television through their own platforms.

I just emailed Apple to find out what's going on.  Supposedly, I'll receive a response within 48 hours, but we'll see.

I agree with you; that is exactly what I thought when she said that. Having worked for the federal government for many years myself, I learned fairly quickly I needed to 'fuzz up' my job description for people outside of my specialized area/agency, especially if they did not work for the government.  I translated my job description into a very general, somewhat vague title that is easily understandable to most everyone (but greatly over-simplifies what I actually do).

Now having said that, I do agree Meredith (or CMT if they made the call) did not choose the best general term as "diplomat" does carry a more formal/high-ranking impression with the general public, as rightfully noted in this discussion. I wouldn't have even tried to put a specific title on their jobs; I think it would've been better if she'd said something like 'we work for the State Department, supporting diplomatic activities at the American Embassy' for example. Maybe it would be too 'fuzzy' for CMT (who may have wanted to deliberately inflate how important their jobs sound), but it also might've been more accurate and not raised so many questions. And frankly, although still deliberately vague, saying something like that still makes their jobs sound pretty interesting to me..!

I don't blame you & this coming from a die hard Apple user since 1988.  The last time I purchased a season on iTunes (season 12), I was shorted episodes 2 & 3.  If you read the reviews that season, many were in the same boat.  I eventually bought the two episodes on Amazon when I received no reply from Apple as to when the missing episodes would be added to my season package.  No bueno Apple and you lost a season pass buyer due to it.  I'm not here to bash Apple, they meet and often exceed my needs in most areas but this one area they definitely fell short.

Meredith never said she and her husband are like Ambassadors or something inflated. They both do work as diplomats. Also didn't ShellyB pretty much confirm that yeah Meredith's husband has a background in IT but he's not the computer guy you call when your laptop freezes. Just becuase you graduated with an IT degree and started out there doesn't mean that's where you are now based on an old LinkedIN.

Now no doubt she's a pro at polishing her statements and showing best positive light but she is not lying like Cersten or whoever about what she does.

This might help. https://www.state.gov/discoverdiplomacy/diplomacy101/people/170341.htm

No one was claiming he's "the guy who fixes your computer," but that he is an "I.T. Specialist," which, to me anyway, connotes a much higher position. But, unless he has moved into an FSO (officer) position instead of an FSS (specialist) position (which includes higher-up I.T. positions, not just the "fix the computer" guys), he is technically not a diplomat (although how picky they get with who calls themselves what, who knows) & what Meredith does is definitely not a diplomat position. She may work for one & perform many diplomatic duties, but that does not make her a diplomat. All she had to say was, "my husband and I are both employees (or work) at the U.S. Embassy in B.A., Argentina." Enough said.

I totally will.  Usually, I don't have any issues with iTunes because they're pretty good with things, but this is the first time an episode has NOT been posted within 24-48 hours.  Every other time, I've gotten the episodes within 36 hours or so.  I wish I knew who was at fault here, CMT for getting it to one provider, but not another (even to the point of uploading content to youtube before it gets to Apple) or Apple if they've gotten it and HAVEN'T gotten onto iTunes.  I even checked the iTunes store to see if my notification that it had been posted was delayed, but the episode wasn't there.

I would not say a college educated woman who did work during and prior to DCC did not "marry up" more like married equal.

Also, have to say Colombia def has some really bad areas and a lot of crime in major cities, but it is NOT ENTIRELY HORRIBLE. It's not all drug lords vs slums.

Agreed on all counts. While you have to be on alert any time you're in a foreign country, I've heard really great things about Buenos Aires from people who I know who visit there frequently or have lived there, though Colombia probably would be concerning to me. However, lets be real here. It's not the US is risk-free. We have shootings everywhere - school, work, mall, movie theater, concert, etc, and as someone who lives and drives in Atlanta  - defensive driving is something needed here as well. I've lost count of how many times I've almost gotten in a serious wreck bc someone doesn't realize their exit is coming up and tries cross three lanes of of the highway, driving 75 mph, to get over...smh (to be clear, I fully understand that the original poster who mentioned defensive driving was referring to criminal activity not reckless driving, but just pointing out that the streets are dangerous here too lol).

I called Apple Care yesterday and got my full season 13 refund. (My husband calls me "Squeaky Wheel.") Then I went to Amazon and bought the episode there. You'll lose the whole season 13 on iTunes by doing that, but it seems to me many on here would like to "lose" season 13 anyway.

Now that I've seen the episode, I'm formulating my thoughts for a bit before I post my opinion on it. Funny how this show ropes you in and even as outsiders we feel so personally involved! The episode was intense, and I am still absorbing it all. Or, as Kelli would say, "I'm a ball of stress about tonight," and "I'm fixin' to be sick."

Well if there's one thing DCC does, it's ensuring that you marry well. That alone is probably worth the low pay.  ?

My DVR recorded another year of DCC and I watched it today. It was season 8 and the episode where Chelsea gets cut for her bad attitude and making a joke out of 5 or 6 of them getting put on weight watch. I was pretty shocked that she was kept on the team after Kitty witnessed her being mouthy about it to teammates in the parking lot. Then a few days later she was cut. I think if that happened now she would have been cut right away. I feel like Kelli has gotten stricter the last few seasons. Or at least that is how CMT edits it. It also seems like the girls are a lot prettier than they used to be. Not that they weren't pretty before. They are drop dead gorgeous but it just seems like the past couple of years they come to training camp pretty much "ready for a uniform".

Most dancers are used to that. What usually happens if you're on a dance team or in a dance company is you learn the choreography and while you're practicing in the studio (even before formations are set) you do whichever count is closest to where you are. Usually roll offs/ripples are either front to back or left to right so if you're on the far left side in the studio, you just go with the first group, for example. Later when formations are done, the director will go through each formation change and say, "Okay, first formation - everyone from person A to person B will be on count 1. Everyone from person C to person D will be count 2. Everyone from person E to person F will be count 3. Next formation!" And even then, the formations often aren't set in stone. They will be adjusted for various reasons. In high school, there were some dances we did several times throughout the year so before each performance, we would have an audition to select who would get to be in the dance. Then the director would set formations based on how many people were selected. We had a lot more formation changes than the DCC typically have in a single dance (I remember one dance we did had at least ten formation changes) but it was not a big deal to change who was where each time we performed it. Anyone who has danced in a performance setting should be able to make these adjustments quickly and easily. If 15 year old girls who have no intention of becoming professional dancers can manage to change which counts their roll off is on, the Greatest Cheerleading Squad in the World should be able to do it too (and they do).

This makes sense (I'm also not a dancer so it's very impressive to me).  It just seemed like they had their group bonds so they wouldn't want to break them up.  But I guess it's just a training camp thing

Yeah, dancers learn how to redo formations from the beginning. Mine started competing at 7 and they had to make changes all the time.  I think that year there were 9  girls in her group; and they performed 3-4 times per month, so someone was always out sick or unable to travel or whatever. It's really no big deal.

Totally understand what you’re saying. I danced for over 30 years and cheered for several of those, but never competed in either.  So my experience has been to have a dance or cheer set on us and that was it, unless there was an injury. There were times when my count was changed after I had rehearsed it and sometimes I would revert back to my old count before my body got used to the new count.

For TCC with experiences similar to mine, I would imagine there would me some mistakes (AKA Malena) during the initial changes and that MAY affect some decision making.

Judy: Malena, what number do you go on?

Malena: Four

Judy: Then why did you go on three?

Malena: Yes Ma’am

This episode really brought home the central theme of the DCC series centering around cuts and how tiring that is becoming.

Each season we're told this is the most difficult group to cut because all the Veterans and Rookies are good. We're repeatedly told just how stressful it seems in reducing the training camp group down to 36. We all love DCC but the requirements for making the team are known. It's not like Kelly and Judy are doing cuts for a 53 man roster or assembling a team to the International Space Station. It shouldn't be this hard or stressful - unless you make it so through legacy nepotism. If this season has shown us anything, an additional impartial third voice is required, when legacies are involved that aren't fully tied into the DCC fraternity. I'd also like to see the series narrative improved, from focusing on rookie candidates that will be getting cut, to how a good cheerleader becomes such and makes the team. The negativity of getting cut and the apparent stress of that shouldn't be the central theme of the show. I get making cuts are hard but instead of repeatedly whining about it on screen show us the missing details that can make the process more decisive.

Victoria got cut. Yes, this should have happened much earlier, for reasons discussed ad nauseum here already.

Tara got cut. She did seem rather out of sync and someone in this thread mentioned she had a bad break up. Sad. Hope she is okay moving forward.

I thought it was completely unnecessary for Kelli to call Jalyn into her office to talk to her about her hair color. She could have just pulled her to the side like she did with Miranda a few episodes ago to talk about it. No need to freak the poor girl out with an office visit when they know cuts are being made.

I thought that was TV driven. If there was not a TV show, I would think that would be addressed without the need to stick around for an office meeting. Heck an email would do---please go see. . . about hair color.

New poster on here so sorry if this has been discussed:  I don't know if this helps, but SlingTV has CMT as an option and DVR. That is how I watch. I also just learned that the PhiloTV carries CMT and has included DVR. Theirs is about $16 a month. Both show the episodes OnDemand the very next morning. I got tired of Spectrum having constant disputes with CMT and locking the episodes from customers. I do have older seasons on Amazon but chose not to buy this season for obvious reasons. I managed to record season 1 using my computer HDMI to TV. But honestly, CMT /DCC are really contract crazy to me. Why don't they just remaster seasons 1&2 for us to purchase? They change the songs on Amazon. Literally, a song heard on one episode can be completely different watching that same episode a month later. Has anyone else noticed that? In fact, sometimes I swear certain clips or small parts change out to.

The 2-hour special, Season 1 and Season 2 were never cleared for dvd meaning, those deals were not struck at the time so I don’t believe they can go back to all those people to get approvals...please someone tell me if I am wrong here. That was always my understanding of why they are unavailable on iTunes/Amazon. Although I think a dvd of Season 2 is available on a website. Anyone remember the name??????

I did a chat with a guy and he tried sending me a link also which was useless. He then passed the buck to CMT and when I told him it’s funny YouTube and amazon both got it available and I even got an email stating it was ready to view and wasn’t. I then demanded a refund so I can just go buy on amazon and surprisingly got it for the whole season. I then watched it on amazon and all is good. Never again iTunes.

That was always my understanding of why they are unavailable on iTunes/Amazon. Although I think a dvd of Season 2 is available on a website. Anyone remember the name??????

I bought a DVD of Season 2 on ioffer.com
