Usually at the end of the season, I'm a little sad that it's over. This year, my feeling is thank fuck this mess of a season is over.

My enjoyment this season has come from being here to discuss it

Still don’t get how Judy is the choreography but I’ve not seen her actually work on a dance.

Wish they did show more if the veterans and what they do...it is called makin* the team but it’s the whole team.

This season has made me hate this show. I used to watch it out of fascination and interest, now it's nothing but snark fodder.

Amen! The only reason I continued to watch the show this season was this board! I had to watch so I could log onto this forum and talk about how frustrated I am about everything!

In the case of Judy sitting there and not saying anything, I was watching her face, and her expression was saying it all during Victoria's cut scene. She had the I wish it was over, and they called me out about Cassie aka what about all the Victoria crap this season look on her face. She probably was glad Kelli finally cut Victoria.

I think she used to teach choreo a lot more when she was younger. Now she just oversees it---they call her the choreographer, but I see her more as a visual arts specialist. They have a handful of assistant choreographers who seem to do more of the real teaching. Judy can pick out mistakes though, she also does the blocking and manages the choreographer so she's not just sitting there---but she also doesn't appear to do what most of us would consider a choreographer's job either.

Judy is the Head Choreographer, so it's probably more of a management position now -- she manages all of the choreographers under her and approves (or disapproves ?) of what they come up with & probably tweeks it. However, just because we haven't seen her choreograph something on the show doesn't mean she hasn't or doesn't still do it sometimes. If you look at the wiki on her, she actually has quite a few choreography credits to her name.

I finally saw this episode and I’m irritated by Kelli’s obsession with Jalyn’s hair colour.  That red was gorgeous, and head and shoulders above most of the brassy bleached blondes on that team.

It’s like they’ve never heard of low lights, and Judy is the worst offender.  Why anyone would bleach every last ounce out of their hair colour and proudly wear that platinum is beyond me. It’s rarely flattering on anyone.

I agree there.  I think some of the brassier blondes would look better with lowlights (is "lowlights" the correct term?  Someone colored my hair once (just once LOL) & I mentioned lowlights, and she scolded me that there is no such thing *shrug*) than making them overall brunettes.  So many single process brunette colors IMO just look lifeless.

Lowlights are a shade darker than your base.  Flat, single process color is lifeless.  When adding highlights, you can choose different degrees of highlights to mix into the process so the highlights have different depths.   You do not necessarily have to add lowlights.

I understand what lowlights are, I have them :)  I'm saying that the hairdresser I went to (called out for being among the best in coloring blondes in Philadelphia) acted like the term "lowlights" doesn't exist.

On the DCC instagram, Malena answered a fan that is was her decision to quit her job & follow her dream.

I knew you understood that by what you wrote...sorry not clear.  I understood about what you were saying too about the hairdresser, been there done that with some of them.  That is why I just go and pick out the shades I want interwoven into my locks, so my hair flips will look great...not really.

I was just listening to the Afterbuzz podcast episode for this episode. They mentioned the part about Lily being cut. They were like, “Who? Who’s Lily?” If you didn’t know her cut was coming and hadn’t been paying super close attention throughout the season, you would have no idea who Lily was. It’s obnoxious how much time was spent on so few people.

I’m sad to say, I didn’t know who she was until they cut her.

New poster on here so sorry if this has been discussed:  I don't know if this helps, but SlingTV has CMT as an option and DVR. That is how I watch. I also just learned that the PhiloTV carries CMT and has included DVR. Theirs is about $16 a month. Both show the episodes OnDemand the very next morning. I got tired of Spectrum having constant disputes with CMT and locking the episodes from customers. I do have older seasons on Amazon but chose not to buy this season for obvious reasons. I managed to record season 1 using my computer HDMI to TV. But honestly, CMT /DCC are really contract crazy to me. Why don't they just remaster seasons 1&2 for us to purchase? They change the songs on Amazon. Literally, a song heard on one episode can be completely different watching that same episode a month later. Has anyone else noticed that? In fact, sometimes I swear certain clips or small parts change out to.

What package do you? I have both and haven't managed to find CMT yet.  Is it a special add on, like the news package?  Thanks!  I have the DVr service and love it.

I listened to more of the podcast. When they got to the part where they mentioned Yuko’s car accident and concussion, they were like, “Who’s Yuko?” ? They’re not exactly the most knowledgeable folks regarding DCC. At least, they seem well intentioned.

Someone actually asked who Yuko is?

Umm hey is there a Podcast about this show? Because I will totally check it out (I mean I listen to about 6 hours of Podcasts each week about my other favorite show Survivor ?). I haven’t been able to listen to the These Boots Are Made for Talking because I was so offended by Shannon’s attitude but I would love to listen to a podcast about the show. They should also have past DCC’s on a podcast like RHAP does with Survivor.

It’s the Afterbuzz TV Aftershow. They do podcasts for a lot of television shows including this one.  http://www.afterbuzztv.com/shows/dallas-cowboys-cheerleaders-after-show

Thanks for the link. I listened to one of their shows, one recapping the episode Kristen went home. Those girls need to brush up on their DCC knowledge, watch some old seasons and start reading here. It seems like this is the first season they had ever seen, they had no idea who Gina was, they had no idea the team picture is taken after the squad is announced and they wrongly thought there was a different appearance squad that Malena would be on (no ladies, there is an All Star team though but only vet DCCs are on it). If you are going to recap a show, make sure you know the show. They do seem to have a good dance background at least. I will try a few more episodes just to see if it’s better in those.

Agreed. I tried listening to two episodes and couldn’t finish either. They don’t know what they are talking about.

They are not anywhere near snarky enough to capture my interest. They are so nice the whole time as if they are pussyfooting around the issues at hand. Afterbuzz is disappointing.

It was just....bad....I felt like I was in a bathroom stall listening to gossip at the sinks. And they definitely have no idea of who the women are or the show.

Or anything about the DCC and the history of Making The Team. One girl gave the “history of the uniform or the history of the DCC.” And it was wrong. How hard is it to google the history? I clicked off after that.

If you are going to do a show that has been on for 12 seasons prior, one of them should’ve done some homework.

Going to put it out there - Kelli likes polishing 'diamonds in the rough', they like girls from other teams b/c they have a clue what they're in for, and they needed diversity. So they kept her longer.

Seems like Kelli always gives those Jets girls more of a chance than other girls with the same issues - Jasmine, Savannah, Danielle, Tara all been on the bubble over the years for various reasons.

Isn’t the flight crew director a former dcc? I totally see what you’re talking about. Just considered maybe it’s a professional courtesy of some sort

Edited by evasworld123
spelled dcc wrong lol. thanks auto correct
