People film and post to social media so that people will think twice the next time want to call the cops on people over trivial issues that are not their business.  Also, since the lady was calling the police, it was definitely a good idea for her to film for evidence sake.   Her losing her job is an unfortunate consequence, but they person who filmed the encounter is not to blame.

You seriously think the police would not laugh at her and ignore a call about permits? Making fun of people like this, yes, the memes, yes. But the damn harassment, no. And I hate the twisting of things to fit a narrative, like she was a harassing a child. No, the mother RIGHT THERE. Damn dangerous hyperbole.

Ok, I can see that point. I did see something where the woman said that she had called the police because the girl and her mom were calling out loudly to people to buy water , and I see how that would be annoying after a few hours.

And yes, she did get harassed online. I saw people on Twitter demanding that she be identified, and then all her social media and professional accounts were attacked. Not saying g she was right, just that she got a punishment that didn't fit the crime.

I think we all have to be mindful, not to act a fool in public. Everybody has a camera on them and in a few minutes, your foolishness could be put on social media and your life gets ruined.  Permit Patty picked that hill to die on and the public, rightly or wrongly, reacted..

It was rather startling, since it reminded me of something reptilian, like an alligator, scenting the air and waiting to pounce. What a contrast to Tara S who listened like a human being.

Calling the police on black people over trivial matters is an act of violence. How many times have we seen unarmed black people die when police get involved? Patty would not have called the po po on a white girl and her mama selling water. I think we all know that.

Permit Patty quit her weed business because she fucked that up herself. Weed dispensaries were dropping the products because people who use cannabis think it is a bad look for a white woman selling cannabis to call the police on a black person selling water. Think about that one.

There are times like today when I swear Meghan must be on the Autism Spectrum. She has no understanding of sarcasm and often does not understand the nuances of language. During Joy’s Comedy Corner it was as if she wasn’t able to understand the jokes and just kind of smiled or pretended to chuckle when she heard the others laugh. Even Whoopi knows she better preface her universal “you” with “I mean the big you, baby, not you personally.” Otherwise, MM will not be able to decipher if she’s being called out or not.

I could not believe my ears when RBM stated how she often has to compromise in the center here at this show.  When has she ever done that?  I disagree with her opinions for sure, but it is how rude, immature and unprofessional she is that irks me.  When the other hosts are talking and someone starts to interupt, most of the time they say let me just finish this thought  and then go on, .but Meghan puts up her 'tell it to the hand' and screeches  I AM STILL TALKING!!!! She also always plays the victim with nonsense like "no one will agree with me" and "the voice of the persecuted GOP "  Just get off the cross bitch we need the wood.   She cant see hypocrisy  , like she wants personal freedom to hold and keep guns, but not a right to decide what other a woman can do with her body.  Whenever I hear her say she is happy for the chance to overturn  R vs W,   I want to tell her that  her money and position will not save her. Trump and his woman hating government will eventually take away your rights as well ..does she really think they will stop at just abortion rights.  Little miss  'I am not a feminist' needs to look again, no equal pay, sexual assault and harassment, no abortion, difficulty in access to healthcare for birth control, etc....see the plan Meghan. You just make it easy to get the poor women first, but eventually they will take away your rights.as well.

This is what kills me about women in the Republican party. They think by sacrificing something they feel they will never need will protect them as women's rights continue to erode. This type of scenario has played out in other countries in the past.  Rich women will always have access to what they need so Meghan knows that none of this will ever really affect her.

I liked how both Sunny & Tara were sitting angled toward Joy and didn't even look at MMM during most of the show.  And twice when MMM screeched, trying to interrupt, they just ignored her and kept on talking.  That's how they should behave every day.  I thought Thursday's voluminous big-printed mu-mu was bad, but MMM looked like an even bigger house on Friday's get-up.  

The comment about squinty-eyed lizard-lips' tongue darting out was spot on, and hilarious!

He had tongue cancer that he said was throat cancer at the time and speculated it was from performing oral sex.

I'm just catching up, so I'm a few days behind, but I had to reply to this because therein lies the basis of her entitlement (in her very own words, no less!)  It's absurd to think she's an expert on politics simply because she was present (in utero) at a convention.   She could have been present as a fully-born person at 100 conventions, and it still doesn't provide her with the qualifications she seems to think she has.  It sounds like a joke that someone else would make about her, not something that she would actually say seriously.   She was born into the McCain family.  She didn't serve (her father and brother(s) did).  She's never run for office or held office (her father did).  She's not an esteemed member of the Republican party, she has no experience, no education, no qualifications that put her in the upper echelon of people who understand politics or are skilled in explaining the nuances to others.   She rides on the coattails of her family without a shred of embarrassment and with an overblown sense of her own importance.  So she talks about politics on TV.  Big deal!  Many, many other people do too, most of whom are more informed, intelligent, and articulate than she is.  A lot of things bother me about her, but that's what bothers me the most - that she thinks she's ever-so-special based on her last name.    (Oh, I just realized that something does bother me more - the disrespect she shows for the other women and her condescending attitude toward them, Joy in particular, but Sunny also.  I would find it hard not to really go off on her, and often I want to smack those expressions off her face.)

I think she was so surprised that Whoopi was coming back at her in a big way that she went for a generic "I'm a victim" response. I don't think what Whoopi said was a cheap shot in any way. I think it was the first thing that came to Meghan's mind, like "fake news" or "Crooked Hillary" comes so easily to "45." If it were someone more polished or less emotional than Meghan, I would guess it was a dog whistle, but I truly think it was simply a knee-jerk response to being criticized by someone she didn't think would get in her face.

I wasn't able to watch The View last week, so I caught up this week on the recorded shows. Let me tell you, watching the week's worth of shows and then catching up on this board was an absolute joy. You guys are so smart, informed, and funny.
