I've going to have an unpopular opinion here about the woman calling the police about the permit for selling water. Okay, she over-reacted and was being stupid. But getting death threats and losing her job? Now who is over-reacting and being stupid. FFS. I think it's a bitch move to egg on the woman, videotape her and then post it to social media. In this climate of crazy it's downright dangerous.  It must be much more newsworthy than the guy getting sucker punched and then robbed by bystanders. But that doesn't fit the narrative, does it?

ETA: Just finished that bit and saw that we wasn't fired, but resigned (probably due to harassment). Because harassment to that extent is much more socially acceptable than being a white twat who calls the cops. I hate people.

People film and post to social media so that people will think twice the next time want to call the cops on people over trivial issues that are not their business.  Also, since the lady was calling the police, it was definitely a good idea for her to film for evidence sake.   Her losing her job is an unfortunate consequence, but they person who filmed the encounter is not to blame.

I think MM is going to hammer the term, "socialism" ad nauseum whenever a democrat comes on.

Yes, I'm pretty sure socialism will be on her and every other repubs talking point blue cards through the fall election cycle.

You seriously think the police would not laugh at her and ignore a call about permits? Making fun of people like this, yes, the memes, yes. But the damn harassment, no. And I hate the twisting of things to fit a narrative, like she was a harassing a child. No, the mother RIGHT THERE. Damn dangerous hyperbole.

ETA Not trying to argue with you. It's obvious we have different opinions on this and that's fine. I knew my opinion would be unpopular. Plus I'm getting too off topic.

Ok, I can see that point. I did see something where the woman said that she had called the police because the girl and her mom were calling out loudly to people to buy water , and I see how that would be annoying after a few hours.

And yes, she did get harassed online. I saw people on Twitter demanding that she be identified, and then all her social media and professional accounts were attacked. Not saying g she was right, just that she got a punishment that didn't fit the crime.

I think we all have to be mindful, not to act a fool in public. Everybody has a camera on them and in a few minutes, your foolishness could be put on social media and your life gets ruined.  Permit Patty picked that hill to die on and the public, rightly or wrongly, reacted..

A lot of time I have the View on in the background and listen without actually watching, so it wasn't until today that I saw the MM coffee-cup posturing. It was rather startling, since it reminded me of something reptilian, like an alligator, scenting the air and waiting to pounce. What a contrast to Tara S who listened like a human being.

hey, that little gal who won in Queens is adorable....and I would vote for her in Atlanta, let me tell ya. Yeah, I sound like an old man here and i'm

just an older lady,  but seriously, she was one smart cookie.......loved her - SHE KNOWS HER STUFF.  BORN TO RUN! Oh and by the way, fuck you Meh-gun. Just wait till you get pregnant honey!  You better tie off those tubes tomorrow toots.

Cyranetta, that is half the fun of watching. The eye darting, the red flush on the chest and ears, the nose buried in the cup with eyes glaring death darts at her prey.  One of these days we'll see her tongue flick out and lick her eyeball. I'm feeling mean today. When someone like Tara or Ana is a host along with MM, it really emphasizes how bad of a fit she is on this show.

Thanks, Cyranetta and Nokat, for giving me a big laugh. Your descriptions of MM were just perfect!

I can’t stop laughing at this...someone send this post over to the artist at Gallery of the Absurd and make this interpretation of Megzilla happen ?

There are times like today when I swear Meghan must be on the Autism Spectrum. She has no understanding of sarcasm and often does not understand the nuances of language. During Joy’s Comedy Corner it was as if she wasn’t able to understand the jokes and just kind of smiled or pretended to chuckle when she heard the others laugh. Even Whoopi knows she better preface her universal “you” with “I mean the big you, baby, not you personally.” Otherwise, MM will not be able to decipher if she’s being called out or not.

I could not believe my ears when RBM stated how she often has to compromise in the center here at this show.  When has she ever done that?  I disagree with her opinions for sure, but it is how rude, immature and unprofessional she is that irks me.  When the other hosts are talking and someone starts to interupt, most of the time they say let me just finish this thought  and then go on, .but Meghan puts up her 'tell it to the hand' and screeches  I AM STILL TALKING!!!! She also always plays the victim with nonsense like "no one will agree with me" and "the voice of the persecuted GOP "  Just get off the cross bitch we need the wood.   She cant see hypocrisy  , like she wants personal freedom to hold and keep guns, but not a right to decide what other a woman can do with her body.  Whenever I hear her say she is happy for the chance to overturn  R vs W,   I want to tell her that  her money and position will not save her. Trump and his woman hating government will eventually take away your rights as well ..does she really think they will stop at just abortion rights.  Little miss  'I am not a feminist' needs to look again, no equal pay, sexual assault and harassment, no abortion, difficulty in access to healthcare for birth control, etc....see the plan Meghan. You just make it easy to get the poor women first, but eventually they will take away your rights.as well.

Marry me.

This is what kills me about women in the Republican party. They think by sacrificing something they feel they will never need will protect them as women's rights continue to erode. This type of scenario has played out in other countries in the past.  Rich women will always have access to what they need so Meghan knows that none of this will ever really affect her.

Also, "Little Miss I Am Not a Feminist," needed/needs lessons in current American history...let's just say, from the time her mother was born until today.  She can start with women's history and move to other areas. Her Art History education isn't evident.

I liked how both Sunny & Tara were sitting angled toward Joy and didn't even look at MMM during most of the show.  And twice when MMM screeched, trying to interrupt, they just ignored her and kept on talking.  That's how they should behave every day.  I thought Thursday's voluminous big-printed mu-mu was bad, but MMM looked like an even bigger house on Friday's get-up.

The comment about squinty-eyed lizard-lips' tongue darting out was spot on, and hilarious!

Joy, Sunny, Sara, or Whoopi need to ask MM why democratic socialism like in Britain or Scandinavian countries is working well?   Ask MM to say what does it mean to you?

America is evolving and the old guard white males don't like it.  I would like to see them bombard MM with questions because she can't answer them because she doesn't know of which she speaks.  The racism is starting to come out as evidenced by the cheap shot comment to Whoopi thet other day.

She just parrots what her husband & father-in-law say.  She would never be able to make a convincing argument for "her side".  She reminds me of Kim Kardashian being interviewed by Van Jones.

Reminds me of Elisabeth.   She married into a very right wing conservative family and parroted Bill Geddie.

Oh yeah, he had tongue cancer right? Yipes. He had to get all new teeth, anybody with mouth cancer loses their teeth.  He does look freaky, but he is always getting plastic surgery, even 25 years ago he was getting face lifts.  Whatever. I still sorta like him. He's a good liberal.

He had tongue cancer that he said was throat cancer at the time and speculated it was from performing oral sex.

I was surprised (and delighted) to hear his father is still around. What did he say?  104?

No, I think Kirk just turned 101 this past December?

You know, until this week, Twat has NEVER mentioned she “has family” that works for this administration. She’s more upset that THEY are being, according to her, tar and feathered and being insulted or whatever, than about the actual words and attacks against her father.??

Why is socialism such a dirty word but kickin’ it with communism is just fine and dandy....is it cuz they’re both ‘red’ ?

She wants to be looked at as a victim.   How many times do we have to hear about her being accosted for being a Republican?  And I seriously doubt anyone is going to harass her father in law.  Nobody knows or cares who he is.

I think it's even more frustrating because there's another conservative at the table yet the contrast between the two couldn't be more obvious, especially during the interview with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Meghan is insufferable.

Tera was SO gracious in that interview! She mentioned they disagree but it didn't take away from Tera celebrating Alexandria's accomplishment, especially as another young woman of color.

^^^^  X 1000  ^^^^  *** Well said @DebbieM4.

Thank you so much!  It was quite a rant, I know, but I've had it bottled up inside and needed to get it out.  :-)  It really baffles me how a man like John McCain (who I do not always agree with, but seems to be a decent, respectful, and well-mannered man) raised such an entitled, screeching, disrespectful brat.   I wonder what he thinks when he watches her on this show.

I was so disappointed she was wearing that high-necked dress, as I can imagine she was bright red under that thing while Whoopi was handing her her ass. It would have given me such pleasure to see that.

I wouldn't say pissed or scared. I'd say so over it. Her left eye was twitching today during one of MMs verbal vomits.

I agree with your assessment of Joy.  Over the weekend I caught up on Wed, Thursday and Friday's show, I honestly can't tell you which day it was, but at one point Big Mouth McCain was ranting and whining, and the camera shows Joy smirking at Whoppie  as if to say "can you believe this bitch, I'm so glad she's gone".  [Yes, I read all that from a smirk, probably wishful thinking....]

Regarding the "that was a cheap shot, Whoopi" comment (even though she adores her); what exactly does that mean.  Essentially Whoopi was saying that black people are living in poverty too.  How is that a cheap shot?

I think she was so surprised that Whoopi was coming back at her in a big way that she went for a generic "I'm a victim" response. I don't think what Whoopi said was a cheap shot in any way. I think it was the first thing that came to Meghan's mind, like "fake news" or "Crooked Hillary" comes so easily to "45." If it were someone more polished or less emotional than Meghan, I would guess it was a dog whistle, but I truly think it was simply a knee-jerk response to being criticized by someone she didn't think would get in her face.

I wasn't able to watch The View last week, so I caught up this week on the recorded shows. Let me tell you, watching the week's worth of shows and then catching up on this board was an absolute joy. You guys are so smart, informed, and funny.
