Interesting. I read somewhere since Meghan's "I Hate Her" tweet that it's further evidence that she's playing a role on The View. I believe it. She is always explaining "Trump's Base" when she is not part of it. It make me wonder whose idea it is for her to be "The Voice Of Republicans" as opposed to Just Meghan.

Whoopi and Joy certainly don't try to paint themselves as the "explainers in chief" for all Democrats. They explain why they feel the way they do, and it certainly doesn't come from the DNC.

So who it telling Meghan she needs to explain Trump's base over and over again, especially when she isn't part of it?

Yes, absolutely, THAT was the word she was "searching for" ... LOL!!!

Jeeze, the words aren't even close.  The both start with "a" though!

I don't think Mehgs is playing a role now, I think she was playing a role then; back when she was championing gays having rights and getting married, trying to be reasonable and saying the nice things about Hillary that she did. No one can turn like that the way Mehgs has unless that hate was already in her heart.

She's fake and phoney and will say anything to advance herself. She's the very definition of tribalistic.

Sherry was right in saying Mehghan needs to lighten up but she'd have been better off speaking to a brick wall. Mehghan's calling card is being a Republican and is all she cares about. Trying to reason with people like that is fruitless because that's their identity

And I love how she says in trumps America, women should support one another, yet called Hillary crooked (using the same terminology a man coined) and saying she hates Hillary.  I really wish Sherry's response had been more forceful and was disappointed because it came off as appeasing to me.

Mehg's such a hypocrite. How anyone can sit at the table, listen to her yell and spout such hate and then sit for drinks after is mind blowing. It wouldn't be me.

I think in Meghan's mind her dad should  have won and then she would have been First Daughter and blah blah blah.  She clearly wants to be a political insider.  Being a pundint isn't enough for her.   I think she will run for dad's Senate seat.  Might not be this time around but in the future I can see her doing it.

She would not be able to hold a debate without dissolving into a shrieking mess. The Republican challengers would eat her alive.  If by some chance she did win, the Dems would also tear her apart.

Another gem.

The funny thing about watching this clip in 2018 is that now Meghan likes to say she grew up in the “Reagan era.” In 1988, Ronald Reagan helped four year old Meghan shape herself into a child republican.

What arrogance to tell Andy Cohen “The View” is a “news show” now and is completely different than it was before.  I think Meghan is technically correct that ABC classifies it as a “news” show, but when Sherri was there they were interviewing just as many politicians as they are now.  It’s essentially the same format as when Sherri was there - the biggest difference is the cohosts.  Meghan’s response really does justify Sherri’s comments that Meghan needs to “lighten up.” Also if Meghan is going to play the “women can’t tell other women to lighten up card,” then she also, as a woman, shouldn’t tell other women like Sherri not to answer a question with their honest opinion.

I don't think the show has (even supposedly) changed course from info-tainment to news. It's just that it got shunted over to the news division a few years back.

First it fell under the daytime division. Then ABC put its daytime programming into the entertainment division (ie The View, The Chew, General Hospital). When the ratings (and especially the demo numbers) were still tanking, they took The View out of entertainment and put it into the news division. Meghan must know that's the division they fall under, so she thinks it's more of a news show. What a tool. Of course, compared to Fox News programming, I guess it is.

The comments on that tweet are great.  One person said she is Violet Beurergard and another Nellie Olsen.

The above is perfect. I'd thought of Nellie Olsen too (I mean to myself), but she really is a mashup of Nellie and Violet.

I so want McCan't to be fired. She was horrible today, totally misrepresenting Joy. She also just talks too much. She interrupts everyone who speaks.

I don't think she has any true beliefs to espouse. In my opinion, the reason she's capable of the "I like Hillary/I hate Crooked Hillary" bullshit is because there's no there there.

She's just always auditioning for her next show, because like most imposters, she knows sooner or later, the producers will catch on to the fact that she's an empty vessel.

I have been greatly annoyed MM hasn't apologized or explained about her I hate crocked Hillary comment Fri. Not a word until tonight on twitter. She is bemoaning a comment about her father.....and shredded on twitter for her comment on Friday. She actually tweeted 3 times since then  (in about 1 hour) trying to explain it, kind of. Not many are buying it. She regrets it and wishes she would have been more eloquent.

I am looking forward to the break......and learning who will replace Sarah. Don't know if I can do this anymore, lol.

She lives in New York with her New York husband.  Few people in Arizona know who she is.

This is why MM is so ridiculous - she is a self described politico commentator and a political "pundint" - and then calls someone crooked and hates. Who does that other than FOX? And how does Ms Heiress even know how trumpsters feel and it is her mission to explain it to anyone?

It's really something, isn't it?  Meghan says she "didn't like" Hillary or trump, couldn't vote for either.  Now trump is constantly ranting about her father, but Meghan will still defend trump and his supporters.   But her "HATRED"  is reserved for Hillary!

I wonder if someone she considers a friend like Joe Biden were to run if she would attack him.  And it will be interesting to see if Trump has challengers in the primary to see who Meghan supports.  I sincerely hope she isn't still around in 2020 but Elisabeth lasted 10 years so...…...

If this were anyone else on the show, especially Joy, she would've had to apologize the next morning. And in the tweet, Meghan didn't even apologize - she just said she regrets it and that she could've been more "eloquent." The fact that she's unable to apologize and recognize her flaws speaks volumes about her character.

Article on HuffingtonPost entitled "Whoopi Slams Meghan McCain's War on Christmas as BS" - WG is winning the war.

See!  That's why ABC is keeping her - she's getting press!  As in any publicity is good publicity.  Sigh.

Meghan has never met individuals that celebrate Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Epiphany (Three Kings Day), Russian/ Greek Orthodox Christmas and other December/ January Holidays? Sad

Not a new concept to learn about and join others in celebrating holidays! Back in the 60s- My family (Roman Catholic) were members of the Jewish Community Center - When the Arts and Crafts class did a Passover project- I copied off others but learned the meaning/ traditions.

That line stuck out for me.  And then she goes on to talk about bipartisanship.  Sure Meghan.

Folks, in case this wasn't explicit: John McCain, a man who does not appear on this show to espouse his political or personal beliefs, is off topic here, and so too is the subject of his wife's personal life, political views, etc. Cindy McCain is just as off topic in this thread as her husband.

there's a pattern I noticed with Meghan.  she hears what someone says, then attacks them by re-wording what they said to mean something entirely different.  It's  something a family member used to do to me, and it's infuriating.  But I pick up on it when Meghan does it, and it's the number one reason for my dislike of Meghan.

When it happens, I will post it here so people know what I'm talking about.  feel free to give examples if you notice them.

today's example -

Whoopi says "I say happy holidays because I like to be inclusive."

Meghan says,  "you're saying I'm being insensitive or intolerant by saying Merry christmas"

I am certain that Meghan walks away from this convinced that this is what was said.

Thank you! I have a family member who argues like this. One of the many reasons we aren't on speaking terms

Today's Hot Topics example:

Meghan talks about socialism, Joy asks whether she thinks healthcare is a privilege or a guarantee ( I think she meant a RIGHT).

Meghan shouts "don't make me out to be compassionless!"

I've seen a lot of glowing articles about Meghan recently. ABC wants to let the world know that she has redeeming qualities, that all of the ladies at the table get along and everything is glitter and rainbows but we see her for what she is on the show. I wish they would stop trying to make it seem like it's all an act when it isn't.

That's because yet again, Meghan is having an Internet Fight at the View table. Comments from social media get under her skin, but she doesn't respond (except to retweet compliments) on social media. No, she acts as if Joy and the other ladies are talking smack about her when they aren't, forgetting that this makes her look batshit insane.

Is there a plot to make us think having her on the show is a good thing?  There’s a conspiracy theory, for you!  ?

Forget the bell and paperclips, get a No Bark Collar and give Joy the remote control to zap Meghan whenever she starts overtalking or screeching.  A "debate" means each person gets their turn to speak, one at a time, but Meghan keeps butting in before the speaker gets half a sentence out.

She has this myopic view of the world. If you live in a red state, you are automatically a conservative. The same for Blue states.
