The Brad/Ozzy/Terry strategy will never win because, as Tai pointed out, it allows these big winners to condescend to and disregard non-winners, who will nevertheless be on the jury.  Tom Westman is the only exception but he had good relationships with everyone on the jury.

Brad wouldn't have needed an immunity run if he didn't have an abhorrent personality.

You mean like Ozzy?  The physically dominant players are always the target of the weaker players.  Ozzy has a great personality.  So why is he not in the Final 3 if your comment were to be true.  Then let us not forget that part of Sarah's personality was to continuously lie, deceive and betray.  Great personality traits there.

Will miss everyone here until next season.  Time to pick some old seasons to start binge watching and practice my eye rolling for when Big Brother starts.

So ready for a season of newbies.  Gamechangers is definitely bottom 10.  The big moves were either not impressive, or game manufactured that screwed someone.

Brad made a huge mistake in keeping Sarah over Tai.  Tai was the perfect goat.  He did absolutely nothing in the game besides find two idols.  He has zero sense of strategy and the fact that he cried because he thought he wasn't being treated fairly says a lot about his game.  Brad could have talked to Tai in a nicer manner, but really, Tai had zero game.  If someone comes up to him and says I'm going to take you to the final three, hey, he should have said yes sir thank you.  I'm not sure why he thought it would be better to go up against Sarah in the final TC rather than Tai.  Especially since the jury was filled with women who he saw got along with Sarah.  If he had picked Tai, Brad would have gone to the final three with two goats and would have won the game.

I did like the format of the final TC.  Instead of each jury member getting up and having their "look at meeeeee" moment, it was more like a round table conversation.

I know Cirie has been there four times, but it really does sound like Jeff was forever shutting the door on her coming back again.  I really like Cirie, I wouldn't mind seeing her again.

Colby could have won (had he taken Keith. but Tina outplayed him - and still almost won, so thre you go).

Ozzy nearly won (and easily could) vs. Yul.
Mike Did win. (and was respected).
Tom won (but he bullied Ian imo).

so it does get respected. but it's not the end all be all.

Desi from the new season is beautiful!

These themes are so stupid.  How about the social experiment of just putting them together and seeing what happens?  You know, that thing that worked so well before?

My wife and  I were pulling for Cirie as well, but it would have been hard to vote for her over Brad given his dominance in the challenges.

Ah, Michaela, can I give you an award for coolest? I just love her. If she ever needs another mom, I'm in line. And when she plays again, she will have learned and grown. Also, she looks like a movie star tonight.

I'm really glad Sarah won.

So. During the final Immunity challenge. And I hope I wasn't the only one to see this and take notice.

Jeff Probst stood there to get splashed by Culpepper going down the slide the second time in the challenge. I wonder if his internal monologue was like, "Yes! I am splashed by the water that Culpepper has deigned to put his manliness in. I am covered in the essence of Culpepper."

It just seemed strange because it's not like Probst has an unhealthy attraction to almost every alpha male that appears on the show or something...

ETA: Ack, I didn't realize that the live posting thread and the episode post-game thread were one and the same. As a suggestion, could they maybe be separate entities in future seasons?

I saw that!  It made me very angry with Probst.

And I know that Jeff gets a lot of flak for so many things, but I could not imagine this show without him.

I have a love/hate relationship.  I know he's not responsible for the changes made to the show (or at least it's not entirely his fault), and I hate that he's sometimes arrogant and oblivious when fans have a differing opinion than him.  But I also couldn't imagine this show without him, and he does seem to go to bat for old school players.

Congratulations to Sara for winning. Her over Culpepper any day of the week. How Culpepper was talking to Tai about the idol and controlling the game. I said his fate is sealed and he won't win the whole thing. Troyzan saying he could beat everyone but not get ONE vote is absolutely hilarious. It was a shame how Cirie was voted out but hey what can you do.

Reunions are pretty much always a bust because they don't talk to everyone so what's the point in all of them returning for it?? Good thing we didn't have to hear from Debbie much cause I just can't stand her. She's forever a bitter old hag. I really don't see a point in having a reunion.

No Varner I will not buy your book. That's like me buying O.J. Simpson's book.

Pretty much a season I'm not gonna remember.

I like to also add how I laughed out loud at Probst saying he's pretty much impartial to all players on Survivor. LMAO yea Boston Rob anyone???

I'm surprised brads asshole personality finally came out, and man did it come out! Glad Sarah won when all is said and done, but for a second tonight I thought "what if cirie wins! Or Aubrey! " but that quickly got shot down.

Michaela is so so gorgeous. I would trade my firstborn to look like her

and I'm glad to see that Jeff loves Cirie more than he loves culpepper. The way he sent her off was just perfect.

I have a real bone to pick with the editors. Why on earth they showed this evolved! Brad Culpepper all season, shoved Monica Culpepper down our throat, treated us to numerous confessionals about how much he'd changed and then completely trashed his edit in the final episode to prove he was the same condescending jerk he was the first time.

That's not good storytelling. You're trying to show how certain people won and lost throughout the season. Not reinvent Keyser Soze.

who decided to style Brad and Troyzan as gay porn stars?  LMAO :)

I think Brad looks like one of the Bobs from Office Space.

I'm not sure b/c it's never been mentioned, but Ozzy has played 4 times? And never won? <snark>

And I am LMAO that Brad's ego was so huge that he could not stand to have Tai in F3, but if he had been, Brad would've won.

Irony, thy name is Brad

A big NO to brad's mustache!  He looked better on the island.

Same for cirie, they went way too far with the false eyelashes, outfit, and fake hair!  She looked so much better as herself during the show.

The catch-22 of this season is they finally wised up and voted out the good players. But that left us with boring tv and an unworthy final 3.

Well, sarah played boldly and made moves, and of the three deserved the win, but I was hoping for someone who combined that with being likable, like Andrea or Cirie.

You can't have Survivor without Probst. He is Survivor to me.

Especially the bad ball jokes. They appeal to the 12 year old boy deep inside me.

Brad looked like a middle school science teacher from the 70s at the Reunion, between the cheesy mustache and the short sleeved dress shirt ... for someone who is into decorating, he doesn't seem to have much style.

Haha, just like my middle school algebra teacher in 1988!

Varner is writing a book? (sigh) oh, Jeff.

I have to say - I thought this season was doing relatively okay, then it started to fizzle because I thought Malcolm and Sandra got screwed. but then it was like. Okay. Brad is this evolved person and he's not so douchey and Cirie + Andrea + Michalea can make some magic.

then the Jeff/Zeke thing happened and that killed my Varner love.
Then Zeke turned into an idiot and it was like just get off my screen.
Then Brad started to turn into a douche.
Then Sarah just started to piss me off.
The Aubrey i loved was invisible.
Tai annoyed me.
Andrea gets stupidly voted off.
Michalea gets voted off for no good reason other than 'Sarah was mad'

And then the Cirie thing happened, and I literally have never been so pissed off with this show in my entire life. This is the show that screwed over Silas. This is the show that introduced ProD and screwed over Pascal (theoretically). This is the show that for some dumbass reason kept bring Stephanie (who is a whiny suck) to come back on the show, but Bobby Jon who equally got screwed only gets on twice. This is the show that broke Penner and made me cry. This is the show that screwed over Michelle, and Jenny.  This is the show that broke Joe (Tocancins) and made me cry and I didn't even like Joe. This is the show that decided after having final threes, hey guess what Micronesia we're just gonna throw out final three just this once. and screwed Cirie the first time. This is the show that introduced us to the Hantz's. And Scot and Jason. This is the show that celebrates Corrine's abject meanness, and kisses bullies butts.

But what happened tonight with Cirie should never have happened.
No way should the person who has zero votes and does not choose to draw rocks be sent home. By virtue of not having her name down, that in my mind made Cirie immune and everyone should have had another quick immunity challenge excusing Brad (who legitimately won immunity and  Cirie who had no votes. Troy, Tai, Sarah should have done a memory "know your survivor game." (and i'll be fair Brad and Cirie could have played too). five questions or something super quick. That never should have happened, and it should never happen again. that really soured the rest of the show for me because i was so fixated on that - i couldn't really concentrate on anything/everything else.

I'm just going to +1 this entire post.  Again, I get them needing twists and changes to keep the game fresh, keep everyone on their toes.  This show would likely not be on if it was 16 people on an island that had to win immunities to survive.  But it is just too much.  And do they decide this at the start of the season?  I remember hearing that they were going to do a tribe swap in Outback after the Maralyn vote, but Colby flipped and saved Keith/Tina, so they didn't.  Why no tribe swap when Ulong was horribly (and sometimes hilariously) decimating themselves?

And I really wonder what prompted this new jury panel this season.  I know Probst says it's because of the KR finale, but why not do it for MvsGX first?  Or was this a way to keep the heat off of Brad (I'll take my tinfoil hat off now).

And Silas...my first ever Survivor crush, destroyed by the first ever game twist.

I'm over this show.  At least in the first season it really did require outwitting, outplaying and outlasting.  The brilliance of four players making an alliance they stuck with, even if you don't like Hatch was terrific.  Winning immunity when he absolutely had to.   Now it's nothing but idols and stupid contrived advantages.   And Probst is very annoying during challenges.

I remember that (re: Australia) but they liked the idea and brought it to Africa. I just thought it was so unfair because Silas was royally screwed. I hated Silas and the whole PlaySkool/OldSkool schism -but i remember thinking - Smokes that's so unfair to that guy. but damn that's a great twist. haha I remember Ethan being mad to thinking about it). so when they did it again - they realised they had to switch everyone. (in season 4).

I think the Ulong thing was basically. "let's see how bad this can get". It's never happened since then either. and I kind of liked it. like "We will not save you." (I've always kinda wanted to see an Ulong 2 and we've been close but then tribe switches happen).

When were the filming dates for KR/MvsGX they could have implemented it - but I do think (gag me with my spoon) this is a "game change" so why not keep it for the forced theme of the show.  I think i am going to expand on this in Fix the Show.

There were two (very worthy) winners tonight - Sarah and whoever decided not to dye Jeff's hair the usual "reunion show jet-black" color  he's been sporting on those two nights a year ever since I can remember.

Well I love survivor, and as long as its on, I'm watching. I don't always like the season, but I hang in there
I didn't care for Sarah( RBF), but the final TC she won me over, winning comps isn't enough. I have to say, I'm so happy Brad said sorry to Tai, I think he realized he was being crabby, bossy and everything else. So there's that.

It wasn't the best season for me, but it sure had its moments.

Please,  no more Tai..no more Debbie done it all

I have to add, when did the jury get all glam  for TC, ???dangling earnings, sparkly headbands, much much make up. It was a little weird. Ozzy cut his hair :(
Well done Sarah , of the three you deserved it, with Brad a close second..

Kudos to Jeff who I've had a crush on since season one..and he's still able to move it along, but really needs more time..

I don't know about that. The first thing I thought about when I heard of the new tie = rock draw rules was that a savvy player could use that to their advantage. If they can figure out who on their side is getting a certain number of votes and arrange a tie (or two) making those people immune, throw in the immunity necklace and possibly an immunity idol, and you could essentially have one or two people left who are the only ones eligible to draw rocks (and thus go home). It would be complex and take balls, but it could work, and it should be allowed IMO because someone has to do a lot of strategy (and white-knuckling) to get that result.

The question is if there's a scenario where that's easier and less wasteful of idols than simply managing to put available votes on the person you want to send home.

So... it sucked for Cirie, but IMO the problem was too many idols all at once, not what happens if they whittle it down to one unprotected person.

Other things... I liked the new FTC format. Fewer stupid jury questions this way.

Brad looked despondent at the Reunion. I'd guess he was really upset at the way he came off. Hint to Brad: If you're trying to make a case that you really love and respect a man, don't bodily pick him up like a child when you hug him. *sigh* I don't think Brad is evil, but I really don't think he realizes how he sounds sometimes. (Whoever said he looked like their history teacher, I said math teacher, but yeah. He was channeling a high school teacher there.)
