I thought the ribbon and bow was cute (and the sweater too).  Didn't like the tag, and posting the Christmas verse with the picture was just thoughtless. She looks really tired in the picture.  The pic with Derrick's family, I'm so happy to see she has on closed toe shoes!

NIKE!  Oh wait... I forgot feet aren't sexy.

I liked the ribbon and bow too. It seems like crazy Christmas sweaters were kinda the thing to do this year, so maybe they were being <gasp> trendy?  Seen on Pinterest, perhaps? I know several people who went to "ugly Christmas sweater" parties this year. (as an aside I was fairly grateful they were all on the same weekend that I got sick and couldn't go). I wouldn't call her sweater ugly, but add the tag and bible verse and it was too much, at least for me.

On a more serious note she does look tired but happy in that photo.  I'm glad she's happy. I'm generally exhausted this time of year too, so I can see why she might be, or maybe the camera caught her in a bad moment.

I just looked at Pinterest and there are several bow w/ tag baby belly pixs along with shots of mom and dad's shoes next to the empty baby ones. The other pix that's popular is the due date written on the bottom of mom's feet or shoes and I thought that would be a given for Jill but you probably wouldn't be able to read it because her feet are always dirty. Jill definitely uses Pinterest for ideas but her execution is sloppy. I thought her belly bow looked dumb much like several of her wedding ideas.

Oh no. Are Boob and Mechelle going to do the kissy pic with Jill and Derick like they did with Smuganna after Mackynzie was born? That pic ranks up there as one of the most creepy things, ever.

At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Jill painted "Richard James, gift from God" over his crib. (Yes, I'm 100% sure this guy will be named for the fathers.)

I don't remember the kissy pic. What did it look like?

I think there's a good chance Richard James will be the name, but I'm not 100% sure. I could see them going in a more modern/trendy direction.

I know I'm considered an "old" floridamom, but just what is Pinterest and why is it so important to young people? Why is it important to someone like Jill, who wasn't supposed to be allowed internet action much at all anyway?

Has anyone noticed if she is doing any better with the interrupting derickdillard thing?

Honestly, I don't feel that they're doing anything that hundreds and thousands of average people don't do every day on Facebook. You could certainly argue that we've become a culture of over-sharers and I'd agree, but I think Jill and Derick are well within the norm on this.

I'm not on Facebook so to me it seems like a lot of photos & selfies. It probably is a good thing I'm not, because if others are even worse than this, wow!

I am older than Jill - hey I am 60 but I love Pinterest. But I don't pin cute dresses or wedding themes. My boards are for the very brave. LOL. But Jill gets a lot of her ideas from there.

I'm just a tad younger, jellybeans - and I enjoy Pinterest too. My niece got me hooked earlier this year but I admit I don't spend anywhere near the amount of time on it as apparently kids her age do - she's 22. But I have found many great recipes, decorating and gardening ideas, quotes, facts, clothing, products, tips of all kinds, seasonal ideas.  You can find just about anything on Pinterest these days.

"Kissy pic" was Boob/Mechelle and Josh/Anna in mutual liplocks behind a crib containing one-week old Mackynzie. Squick factor of a zillion.

As for Pinterest, I do it, but not at all for crafting or recipes, although I do have a Food Porn page. :D I pin shoes, cats, various sports things, and Game of Thrones stuff. I am of the Boob/Mechelle generation.

She looks like the little brother in A Christmas Story.

Yes.  And Cathy looks really good considering what she's been through. And Derrick's brother looked better than Derrick does.  But then I've always preferred a real beard over that second-day scruff that seems to be fashionable these days, at least with younger men.

Think of it as a way to bookmark websites, but with pictures. I really like it for recipes. I see one I like? I can pin it to my page so I can find it later. Or other kinds of visual ideas or tips. If you see a wedding photo you like? Save it so that you can show your photographer to get a similar shot. It's kind of a place that you can save all the different blog posts that you see that have ideas you want to remember. (Decorations, recipes, hair styles, makeup, photography, fashion, etc.)

Jill and Derick went on a boat ride with Cathy and Dan to go eagle watching.  From Jill's instagram.  I hope she was wearing a snow suit instead of a skirt.

Did it say when they went? According to the Family Blog site, all of the 4 married "Duggar" couples went on a quadruple date Sunday afternoon (yesterday). It didn't say where, just made a big deal how they all fit into a Suburban with the 2 pregnant ones. I guess this left Jana, Ginger & Joy on babysitting duty, just another day for them. I'm hoping they brought back dinners for them (if they did go to a restaurant) but who am I kidding? Just another slap in the face for the older ones (both male & female) -- You can only go out & do something special/different if you have a significant other.

Add this as an example to the questions we'd like to ask the Duggars: Why do you exclude your unattached older children when going out on "dates"?

Smuggar posted a picture of the "quadruple date" on Instagram. He sat in the front with Boob, while poor Anna was shoved in the back with Jerick. Jessa, Bin and MEchelle sat in the middle row. No mention about where they went or why.

Nothing said about when they went but, the pic was posted a day ago so possibly on Saturday.

I saw that quadruple date post too. It made me so mad. Do Jim Bob and Michelle need yet ANOTHER date night out? Why are they pushing themselves on young people? Why can't Jana and Jinger have joined their age appropriate siblings for an evening out? Maybe invite some of their single MALE friends and let the singles mingle...chaperoned by sis and bro, of course..Jana gets to stay home again and do what Michelle should be doing...taking care of dinner for the other kids and putting her own little ones to bed...They really need to act their ages and stop being teens themselves. Heck, they are double their kids' ages.

Now, noth

My guess is that Boob and Mechelle don't have friends of their own age with whom to do these "date nights."

Good point about the lax core muscles but I don't think that's the case for Jilly. I still think her jutting Baby Dilly out is a pregnancy shout out. Like we said, in some of the pictures from El Savador, she's standing normally. I was much thinner than she was pre-pregnancy, didn't exercise, & I didn't walk or stand around with my baby belly jutting out. I also don't think Jilly is that thin. I would call her average size. In some of the TH's, her arms look thin but in some shots when she's walking away from the camera, she has a good set of hips on her. (I'm heading to the prayer closet for looking at her hips...)

Make room for me then cus i couldn't take my eyes off Smuggars moobs in that episode he ran the marathon in. The swaying, the jiggling, the bouncing... I was transfixed.

This date night thing bugged the heck out of me too.  They make it completely clear that Jana, John-David and Jinger are inferior children because they aren't married. At least when John-David gets left at home he doesn't have to do anything but Jinger and Jana are left to take care of everything/everyone. To make matters worse, they know the only way they can improve their station in the family is to marry. If that isn't bad enough, they are dependent on JB to decide they get to get married. The feeling of hopelessness for these girls must be overwhelming.

I agree 100%. A clear pattern seems to be developing where it's the "marrieds" and....everyone else who doesn't count. Jill and Jessa are suddenly besties posting pics of each other all over social media and seem to have forgotten that Jana and Jinger even exist. You never see the four older girls doing anything together anymore, it's just the couples. I get that all newlyweds are happy and excited, but I think they're definitely rubbing it in their siblings' faces. After all this is a culture where you're basically a sad loser if you're not married with six kids by the age of 25.

Sad thing is that this was probably expected to happen. I have a feeling that the girls, especially Jinger where probably up crying because they knew once they started to get married off the bonds would be broken.

Gotta be honest. I think I'd rather stay single - even if it meant continual sister-mom duty - than get married to someone Boob & Mechelle chose.  And then, to add insult to injury, have to go on "date nights" with my nearly 50-something goober parents as well.

I tend to agree. Jinger was very emotional when Jessa got married and in large part I think it was bc she knew she was being "left behind." Not only would Jessa be spending most of her time with Ben -- which happens in any marriage -- but any time she did spend with others would mostly be with other married couples and alas Jinger isn't married.

It just speaks to JB and Michelle's douchy-ness that they treat their married kids different and better than the singles; what the 24 yr old unmarried ones don't ever want a dinner out without 4 yr olds clinging to them!? If the married couples want to go out by themselves, fine I guess. More appropriate would be all the "age-appropriate" siblings going out together -- so include JD, Jana, Jinger and Joy. But you can't "force" the married couples to take their siblings with them. BUT if JB and Michelle are going out with the older kids, they can absolutely "require" the inclusion of JD, Jinger, Jana, and Joy, so as to set the tone that ALL the kids are equally important whether they are married or single or will remain single their whole lives. But who are we kidding -- in that family, your stock only rises when you put a ring on it and make a baby.

I completely agree. I can just imagine the conversation to plan the dinner. You know Jana, Jinger, Joy and JD were there or nearby while they planned their night out. How left out must they have felt.

Those kids (JD, Jana, etc) don't need to be included with the parents and the marrieds, they need to be going out by themselves.  Like to a bowling alley or whatever.  We know they go to the bowling alley, and the older kids need to be able to breathe without mommy and daddy and the snitches breathing down their necks.

They probably think that the "unmarrieds" will have nothing to talk about or relate with the "marrieds".  It's like a hymen break lets you into some secret club and your virginal siblings will simply not get it.  Ugh....

I'm wondering how many squickworthy moments there are on those "dates" with Jim Boob and J-chelle. Considering the fact they did everything but P in V during Benessa's chaperoned date at the mini golf course, I'm sure it's yet another opportunity for Jim Boob to lecture a captive audience on his continuing attempts to make number #20.

The weekly belly shots with Jill have resumed with a vengeance. I can hardly wait to see yet more wall-to-wall coverage on the Christ child --- ooops, Jill and Derick's "precious bundle".

I was going to post something about how disappointed I am in Derick (and, I am -- he sure gulped that kool-aide down quick), but then I started thinking about the girls.

Obviously, they're married, they're having sex, they're out of the house, but they're also the center of attention. Their parents are actually paying attention to them!

They're actually going out to dinner, and there are only eight people! They can actually talk to their mom and dad! I'm sure that J'chelle made it all about her (her wedding, her pregnancies, her babies), and JB was a doofus/asshat making sexual innuendos and poking the guys in the ribs, but it was probably a big deal to the girls.

I wonder how long it will take before Derick opens his eyes and gets some kind of clue as to what growing up in that family was actually like.

Maybe he's already gotten that clue, but what is he really supposed to do about it? He's the new son in law who frankly probably just wants some privacy in his own marriage and some opportunity to hang with his own family. I don't think he's going to put it on his agenda to rock the boat and tell the Duggars how they raise kids is all wrong. We don't know that he doesn't want Jana, Jinger, Joy, JD to come along on such outings -- if he says it, I'm sure JB would chuckle like a doofus and say "nah, when they have husbands and wives, this is just for us married folk" and his idea would be shoved aside -- so why is he going to take it upon himself to even open his mouth?

It would be best for Derick and Jill if Derick was from someplace else and they settled down there and only visited the Duggars a few times a year; alas that will never happen -- though Derick can probably get an accounting job a few states away, I don't see him wanting to leave his mom and brother just to get away from the Duggars -- at least not unless/until his inlaws become more unbearable.

Plus, Jill has no hobbies or friends. She's been brainwashed into believing that her family are the only friends she needs. No way would Jill move outside of Duggarland.

On one of the spin-off articles from this article, it says the Duggar/Dillard McMansion is worth $1.5 million. Could that be right? In my part of the woods for a house to be worth that much it would have to be waterfront or on a huge, huge lot. Granted its a nice house but I can't see it being worth that much in that area.

Sorry, I don't feel like looking back - what stores are the baby registries at? Wonder how much stuff they've gotten so far. I guess the extra bedrooms will be storage rooms; overflow in the exercise room warehouse at the compound.

And after years of observation, I've noticed very little humor in the Duggar family at all. Basically, ain't nobody funny here.

I came to the same conclusion after watching the rehearsal dinner or whatever that was supposed to be, for Jill and Derick. The Duggars did another one of those God awful proposal reenactments and everybody was just yucking it up. I suddenly imagined myself sitting in that room and started thinking of all the escape plans I'd use to get out of there. Everybody was so dry and devoid of humor and fun. My family's get togethers are filled with music and dancing and card playing and tons of food. I'm so thankful to have been raised in such sin.

I think the only one who thought the reenactment was funny was MEchelle because it was her idea. I think Jill laughed but that was about it. My family get togethers are filled with laughter & we always bring up funny stories from the past. I can't picture the Duggars doing this. I wonder if Derick has realized laughter (I'm talking about the kind where you can barely catch your breath with tears rolling down your face hysterical laughing) is missing from this family.

Did anyone see the article that Jill could give birth sooner than we think? She's supposedly 28 weeks along. Does J'Chelle want another preemie storyline? Or was she knocked up before the wedding, and now they're trying to hide it?

I saw a pic of Jill about 1-2 weeks ago (standing on the beach with Derrick) and it said she was 6 months along and due in March.  Well I've seen plenty of pregnant women over the past 25 years and I can honestly say that Jill looked closer to 7 1/2- 8 months along. Unless she's having twins she's way to big for 6 months. IMHO she looked almost ready to pop. Ain't no way she's due in March. Did anybody else see this pic? I'm guessing she's due late January and then they'll claim she was 4-6 weeks early. So I agree with Ljohnson1987. Just an opinion. I could be wrong, but....I don't think I am.

It's quite possible she's just really big. I was told the same things when I was pregnant with my son, and he just turned out to be a very big, 9+ lb. baby. I would not expect Jilly Muffin to break the sacred courtship rules. She has a sterling reputation to uphold, after all.

Jill does look huge for only being six months along. Even though she's been accentuating her baby bump since she conceived.

All these things could be taken two ways. Jill's wedding dress was loosely fitted perhaps for modesty maybe to hide something, quick engagement and wedding not unusual in their circles but sometimes a good indicator of a shotgun wedding, showing early sort of unusual in first pregnancy and looking further along all the time maybe natural maybe not. If she was anything other than a Duggar I'd say hum, maybe...
