PinkSprinkles November 20, 2014 Share November 20, 2014 Women carry differently so that could be part of it. Also, I still maintain that Jill has been sticking her abdomen forward since the day she found out she was pregnant and she dresses to emphasize the bump. Kate Middleton in the first pregnancy and so far in this one has dressed to disguise it somewhat. Don't forget she has a team of stylists at her beck and call to make her look fashionable and presentable at all times. Jill doesn't have someone to pick out outfits for her everyday to de-accentuate her growing mid-section. Though, I have to agree that with all the weekly updates she wants to show it off. Not that I blame her. Many of my friends were the same with their first baby. 3 Link to comment

floridamom November 22, 2014 Share November 22, 2014 I would think if Jill experienced such severe morning sickness as is believed and it looks like pregnancy has taken a toll on her already, how can anyone expect her to do this continually for the next 25 years? That is utter nonsense. But, this family is so ridiculous, I guess it wouldn't cross their minds that maybe, just maybe,, this would be detrimental to Jill's future health..... Link to comment
glowlights November 22, 2014 Share November 22, 2014 So I caught a rerun about Jill's engagement. First ep I've watched in maybe three years and this will do me for another few years! But my question is this: I thought JimBob and MEchelle approved of Derick? Because in the engagement ep they went out for ice cream and to do marriage counselling (that's a whole other thing, omg) and MEchelle said, wanly and unenthusiastically, "Looks like you found someone just like your father" and Jib Bob said, very glumly, "These are exciting times" and then they looked down at their ice cream in silence. It appeared to be the opposite of a sign of approval. ??? Link to comment

RedheadZombie November 22, 2014 Share November 22, 2014 (edited) Part of Jill looking "bigger" could simply be newlywed weight gain. All the excitement and the nerves of the wedding planning can kill your appetite. Also, the freedom of actually being an adult and eating everything you want without parental control, is why Josh put on huge amounts of weight. This could be affecting Jill as well. She's not nearly as busy as she used to be, so she might be snacking out of boredom. ETA: I recently watched a clip of Josh and Anna's honeymoon. Between covering my eyes from their compulsive need to give each other closed-mouth kisses every time one of them strayed a foot from the other, I noticed the huge amount of garbage they were unloading from the grocery store. Anna's diet was probably limited by poverty, and Josh's food was controlled by his parents' cheapness and his sisters' meal planning. Of course nothing prevented Josh from going into the pantry and preparing his own food. Edited November 22, 2014 by RedheadZombie 3 Link to comment

abseedee November 22, 2014 Share November 22, 2014 I don't see anything wrong with how Jill looks in that yogurt picture. Anyhow, I took my god daughter shopping for her birthday a few weeks ago and we went in one of those teen shops and one of the items she picked to try on was an animal printed over sized sweater and she actually wanted it so I bought it for her. I found out from her later that these sweaters are the "In Thing" right now. So whether Jill knows it or not she's um.....in trend. lol! I myself like over sized sweaters but no print whatsoever. I find it interesting that her husband is not in this picture. The fact that he is missing in all of the wedding photos and all Duggar-related photos is interesting. Either he really won't take part in the Duggar dog-and-pony show at all, or he is really uncomfortable taking part in the life-events of his wife's adult children. Jill must have gotten her fashion sense from her mother. She's a lovely young woman, but she really does look like an unmade bed all the time. Trimming the hair would be a good start, but she should take someone shopping with her -- maybe Cathy Bynum? There are plenty of cute maternity clothes out there, and I'm sure she gets a discount at Wal-Mart. If she's planning to be pregnant all the time, maternity clothes would be an investment, right? Jynnan tonnix November 28, 2014 Share November 28, 2014 That's exactly what I was going to say, Dangerous Minds...If she is "determined early on that she would fight her sickness by praying, reading the Bible, and sharing Jesus' love with others". and "her family is grateful to God for healing her of cancer"., then why did they even bother with medical treatment? There is no indication that they feel the doctors were even a part of the healing process. The only mention made of them is that they are "pleased with her progress". One can only hope that these quotes have been edited to fit the Duggar mindset, because I'd like to think that, just maybe, the Dillards are capable of seeing outside that bubble. 7 Link to comment

I do not feel my husband's life threatening illness was a weapon to stop him from praying or reading the bible. I am extremely grateful to the medical team who save my husband's life and to his amazing donor and her family for making the decision to let her kidneys be donated to total strangers. My husband was given a second chance at life because a mother thought of helping others while grieving for the loss of her twenty six year old daughter. The Duggars could take lessons from these sweet, wonderful, kind people. I will now go into the prayer closet because I am not grateful to God for "healing" my husband (a transplant does not heal a person, it is another form of treatment.) Link to comment

Barb23 November 29, 2014 Share November 29, 2014 Jill looks like she smells. I wonder if she regrets getting pregnant about 60 seconds in to her wedding night.I watched the wedding episode again out of boredom. After they were married, J&D said it was nice they could be by themselves without chaperones anymore, even tho they were glad they had the courtship rules. I know they were referring to finally being able to kiss, touch one another & sweet fellowship but also just talking & still learning things about one another. Now they have to be parents right away too. I know it was asked before--have they had an argument/fight yet or do they have to constantly stay sweet & not allowed to fight? I am glad J&D had Thanksgiving with the Dillard family. Didn't I read that Benessa had their dinner with the Seewalds? Hope so. Maybe they got to eat off real plates with silverware & not the usual Styrofoam& plastic they would have had at the TTH. Still laughing at the post about the Tater tot Casserole made into the shape of a turkey that was served in the Prayer closet. I also agree that Jill could find more modern/cuter maternity clothes and or shirts. We are all so tired of seeing MEchelle in the puffy sleeve maternity blouses in various colors & now we get to see Jill in them. They may be better than the button down light blue preppy blouse she was constantly wearing before the wedding. I'm sure Cathy would love to go clothes shopping with her. Maybe she has & we just haven't seen any purchases. I can't imagine Jessa wearing one of the maternity puffy sleeve blouses when she is pregnant. I can picture her in very fashionable maternity wear like the clingy knit type of shirts without the modesty T-shirt underneath. 3 Link to comment

Jill is waaaaayyyyyy larger than she is and has been all along. I wonder what's up with that? I think part of it is Kate has custom tailored maternity clothes. Also due to her severe morning sickness, she probably lost weight in her first trimester versus gained. She's always seemed too thin to me as it is, so I'm not surprised Jill appears twice as big. 2 Link to comment

It looks to me that most of them are "ripe" a lot of the time. I could be wrong - but I'm guessing that cleanliness and personal hygiene is valued about as much as education in this family. The Duggars, because of their too-large size, have felt the need to eliminate some of the most basic daily tasks that other families do routinely. I'm guessing each family member probably bathes or showers once a week, maybe the girls a little more often [of their own volition]. They don't use real dinnerware, flatware etc because it would have to be washed 3 times a day. This may be the same reason at least some of the beds in the TTH don't look like they use standard bedding. Imagine all the additional laundry if all the beds were actually "made" with flat and fitted sheets, mattress pads, pillowcases and pillow protectors - and if everyone showered or bathed daily or even every other day. floridamom November 29, 2014 Share November 29, 2014 Sorry to say that Jill's hair, among many of her sisters, needs about a foot chopped off the bottom and deep conditioning, and some soft layers. I really wonder just how long it takes her to shampoo, dry and style that mop she sports. It looks dry and damaged to me, and I'm not a hairdresser and I can see it. Imaging if she had to do her hair every morning? She's never get out of the front door...now, add a baby to care for, I think derickdillard is in for quite a shock. I would hope that he would insist that Jill shower daily and keep herself clean and tidy; it's a matter of hygiene. She doesn't have the excuse of a mob in the bathroom any more. I'd like to hear from the older girls as to what their daily hygienic routines are. I don't know how any of them get out of their bedrooms every day before lunch with all that hair to care for. 2 Link to comment

TomServo November 30, 2014 Share November 30, 2014 Do fundies chart their cycles before picking their wedding date (i.e. figure out when they're fertile and get married during that time)? Fundie or not, a lot of people try to pick a wedding date that avoids having to deal with menstruation during the wedding or honeymoon, so unless you are on hormones (which a lot of women avoid for health reasons and not just religious ones), it's very common to have your wedding around a fertile time. 2 Link to comment
