Josh is in the Shadow Cap of Shame.  He probably had to hide all weekend...the other guys are fairly dressed up and he's in a casual shirt from lounging around in his room (lots of good alone time with his pay-as-you-go phone).

Obviously Josh's only gratification left is eating. I really work about diabetes, a heart attack, or a stroke. Moreso if something really bad happens, but he survives and is ostensibly unable to 'work'. They'd have to give up all pretense if not being on Duggarfare.

Well, this is a rotten thing to say but at least that would probably stop them from having more children to send forward into warped and stunted lives. And at this point it's hard to see what else is going to stop them. I'd quite like to slap those smiles off the faces of Ma and Pa Keller and Anna for creating the conditions that impelled her into pregnancy this time. The harms that these delusional idiots will cause are just beginning and will persist for many decades, I'd wager. And Josh should damn well sneak out and get himself snipped. They're all insane.

It's nice to see Manly-Man Waller Baby dressed in cute baby clothes, except for that starched dress shirt,of course; as least he's not in a full suit like his 2 day old pictures on the chopping block.

Also, he looks a bit like Meredith. Marcus is looking as cute as ever.  Anna has given up on the horrid Gothard Approved banana curls, but don't pregnant women usually get very thick hair?  Hers is looking very thin.

Well, it's been a little while since Philip was born...I know for myself that while I got very thick hair while pregnant, the excess also fell out fairly soon after each of my kids was born. And not only that but while I have quite curly hair, that extra which came in during pregnancy was straight, and since my hair was pretty short back then, what remained after it thinned was mostly straight - which I had no idea how to deal with. I was used to having "wash-and-go" hair which just needed a quick finger-comb, but was left for a good six months after each birth with hair I had to actually figure out how to style !

I don't think Josh has anything in his hand, it's just stuff that was leaning against the rail. I think it's a piece of aluminum corner edging and maybe a stuffed baseball bat?

Those hashtags make me so #annoyed. I don't use/understand Twitter, so I don't get what the purpose of hashtagging all these random words. It's for cataloguing topics or something, right? Who searches for posts based on words like "time" or "grace"? To me it just makes their posts even more of a challenge to read. And with Instagram, isn't #picture a little redundant? The whole point of that is pictures, right?

I'm only in my mid 30s, but all this social media stuff makes me feel like a grumpy old person...

This is nowhere near their last Mkid. I think they've only just begun. That smile/smirk will never leave her face. And Josh will never be "snipped" either.

I don't think that Anna is all that smug anymore. Her hair is THIN which tells me that she is probably under a lot of stress. Pregnancy usually makes hair seem much thicker and hers is flat and her part is wide.  I feel kind of bad for her and her impossible, almost nonexistent choices.

If they mutually decided to end the baby train as they should, they could just quietly do that, by whatever means. Nobody could stop them and whatever choices they have for the future would be a little easier. It's so nuts to keep producing these kids that I find it hard to believe anybody is actually doing it under these circumstances. They - especially Anna - live, move, emote, and think, in a different world than the rest of us. It's the Gothard/Quiverfull extreme/separatist branch of a larger fundie evangelical Christian culture. Their actions make sense to me when I remember they are cult members, and that cult/culture is their whole world. Josh has been out and about in the wider world, plus as the oldest Duggar he must have memories of life before his parents went all full-out Gothardites, so I doubt he's happily lapping the Koolaid all day like his wife. But still, he's ensconced in the family fold and he's doing what they do there even if he's unhappy.

I kind of hate to think about Josh, really. I think it's highly probable that he is miserable, conflicted, confused, and horrendously unhappy. Not that I ever considered him likable when he was riding high, but yeah I hate the idea of him just sort of festering away in the Duggar world just as much.

I know a couple of Quiverfull families, both with 12+ kids, and neither of them has the older kids raising the younger ones. There's a certain degree of sibling babysitting going on, but not excessively so. The families are ranchers/loggers, blanket-train (which I didn't recognize as such until the Duggars), and don't let their kids mix with other kids much. They come in for church service, but not for Sunday School and obviously, they homeschool. But, their girls are allowed to wear jeans, both sexes have household & outside chores, and the oldest kid went to a state college this year, so they're definitely not Gothardites.

I do wonder whether it ever crosses anybody's mind, though, that, while this is true to a point, someday a sharp inflection point will come at which there will be no more money -- because every tv show eventually ends -- and there will still be a million kids. .... Boob may be counting on being dead by then, though, I suppose. So others can cope with this.

I know there are several theories floating out there as to how the kids are paid.  I believe I read once that Jim Bob was the keeper of the finances.  The kids do not have individual incomes as all money goes into a pot.   

The current focus of these theories is on how they could protect assets from lawsuits (thanks to Josh). One theory is that the Duglings do not get paid directly by TLC for their appearances on Counting On.  That the money is paid to an LLC or something like that and the funds are distributed to the children. I had hypothesized along that idea that they could go so far as the LLC could employ the children as "actors" in exchange for room, board, clothing, and essentials.  This would mean the LLC would be the entity with all the money and the kids would technically have no taxable or verifiable income.  Technically.  All their living needs are paid for in exchange for work.  They own nothing that isn't attached to the LLC.  All homes belong to Jim Bob or the "trust".  And the courts aren't going to seize secondhand clothing.  Or used towels.
