Jessa, Ben and Their Brood: Making a (Diaper) Mountain out of a Mold House

Message added by Scarlett45

The Duggars post about politics on social media frequently, but these social media posts are not an invitation to discuss politics here in this forum. This rule extends to Duggar adjacent families, friends, associates etc. Such discussions are a violation of the Politics Policy.

I understand with recent current events there may be a desire to discuss certain social media postings of those in the Duggar realm as they relate to politics- this is not the place for those discussions. If you believe someone has violated forum rules, report them, do not respond or engage.

Wow the Duggars age in dog years once they get married. Jessa and Bin looks so much younger in that picture.

Wow, you're right, BitterApple! Well, they both act like they're 70 and at the rate they're going, they'll be looking it in the not-too-distant future. I may be wrong, but I have a feeling Blessa won't age gracefully.

Sweet, precious, godly, blessed……I'm gonna puke.

Plus the eternal unspoken assumption that no other men are nice to their wives and babies. That drives me nuts. You don't know any other men, Jessa. I do, and not only are many of them very very nice to wives and babies but they wouldn't name an innocent child "Spurgeon." And they'd get a job to support the kid.

(I must admit, though, that I think there's historical evidence suggesting that Ben is a pretty warm-hearted creature. At some point, though, he's likely to find that he's the only such adult in his household.)

Gotta say baby Quincy is so adorable. Ben not so much.

Because I'm old I really don't understand how Instagram works (but am cool enough to know to call it "INSTA").  But why would you write a note to your HUSBAND on it??  Isn't that showy?  Isn't it used to keep up with friends and people who follow you?

Also, I scrolled down the comments and its hysterical how one comment is all gushy from a leg -humper then the next comment is all scathing.  I just went back to the link to copy and paste the scathing comment and it disapeared?  Is Jessa up on Black Friday at Aldi's sale trolling her feed ?  Can she delete bad comments??

They also post Happy Birthday videos on YouTube for people who live in the same house.

The Duggs apparently belong to the school of thought that deems a nice thing unsaid unless it's been said on publicly accessible social media.

....And likely also to the school of thought that deems nice personal things not worth saying unless they're said showily to the general public on social media. (Ben'll probably get most, if not all, of his compliments via social media for the rest of his life, I expect ... Of course, if Jessa's follower numbers dwindle past a certain point, he probably won't get any compliments there either.)

So Jessa's noted that we noticed no Thanksgiving brag on social media, and she noted that we noticed that she will not call precious babe by his proper name. So after deleting yesterday's negative feedback, today she gives Thanks for Spurgeon!

I can't believe that entry was written by an adult. It looks more like one of those "fix this paragraph" my son used to do in elementary school. I had to read thru it a few times to understand what they were trying to say.

Please note, Ben needs a job.

Well, Ben took a year off school for the pregnancy, and now he will need another year off because Blessing. Soon, another pregnancy, another Blessing, over and over and over!

It's good to see Jessa's been able to breastfeed, after the traumatic birth. Little Spurgeon has the little cracked lipped, blister babies sometimes get after prolonged nursing sessions.

So much this!  I hate how they act like they are the only good parents out there, especially when JB and Mechelle are terrible parents, Ben is neither in school nor does he have a job, and Jessa spends so much time taking selfies and posting to social media that it is her full time endeavor. There are so many excellent, involved, responsible parents of different religions and levels of religiosity and, dare I say it, atheists too that these two acting like they are the bestest ever drives me nuts.  I guess the things we can guarantee that JB & M passed on to their brood is a superior attitude coupled with a lack of reason to feel so superior.  Silly things like drive, ambition for more than self-glorification, interests, and desire for learning be damned.  Okay, I'm in a mood.

re a lack of reason to feel superior: Josh, Jana and Jill all play instruments fairly well. JB seems to be able to fix most things and can hustle up different jobs here and there but what skill does Jessa have or for that matter all the dugg kids behind her?

Just passing along that a FB friend in a snark group of mine is a cousin of the Seewalds. She recently met Benessa and said that she's a straight up bitch. She also met Chad and Erin, who she loved.

Not surprised in either case, really.

Also, yeah. Not surprised.

Whoa, whoa, whoah! You can't give us a juicy piece of gossip like that and then drop the mic and walk away! Details, please.

Jessa has no skills and has shown zero interest in anything, ever, except for organizing and packing for trips. Jana and Jill had their midwifery/doula interest and Jinger is into photography. Luckily, Bin has no reason to think Jessa is boring, because his hobby is obsessing over old fashioned fire and brimstone preachers and extremist theology, and agreeing with him makes her seem like the most fascinating person ever. Because, after all, as he once said, "She looks cute in that little apron." A hot wife who shares his ideology is all his dreams come true.

I want details too on how Jessa was a bitch! I think she is her mother's daughter as far as not having a "heart for little ones." Jana and Jill genuinely love kids, but Jessa I think will be a standoffish mom just like her own mom and will have a hard time until she's birthed enough children to begin handing them off to be dealt with.

According to Ben:

1.  The 'Lord' made everyone.

2.  Everyone deserves to be damned.

3.  Children are a reward from the 'Lord'.

Interesting fellow making everyone to be deserving of damnation and rewarding atheists equally with children.

Breaking in and going a little off topic (sorry everyone) to say I like the "He needs to build a bridge and get over himself." The million dollar question is will Benessa get what the rest of us are trying to say or would they say we are heathens and they will pray for us.

And now I'm imagining Ben putting his fingers in his ears and shouting "LA LA LA LA LA LA" because you are using logic - the only thing his Bible bluster has no defense for !!!

Logic is his Kryptonite.

I like that phrase - Logic is his Kryptonite.  Ben is big on trying to warn people - let no man boast of his abilities.  That's because Ben hasn't actually achieved or worked for any abilities.  I say let the athletic superstar boast of his or her abilities, I'm sure they had to work very hard for them.  Or the hard worker who sacrificed for his family - let him boast about it, he deserves to be proud of what he (or she) did.  So many things people have rightfully earned whether it be musical talent or being truly good people - they should be proud of their accomplishments.  Ben doesn't  want them to be proud of themselves yet he has yet to do anything to be proud of himself.

I think we are the heathens they get to damn on instagram.  In their minds they'll be enjoying paradise while others are rotting in hell.  I can't imagine enjoying paradise thinking of - even Benessa - rotting in hell.  I'm just not that cruel.

I also can't wrap my brain around a baby being a blessing...who will go straight to hell if raised in the wrong religion. Obviously most kids would never have a chance if this were true. Their version of God seems to have all the nastiest characteristics of humans - all the traits and behaviors that we are not supposed to have. If "God is love," their version has a very strange way of showing it. I wonder what that does for a human trying to understand "love" as a concept. I imagine it causes a lot of cognitive dissonance. Damnable children!!!!!  Oh sorry, I'm channeling my grandfather yelling at us when we were kids.  Although in Ben's version we were already damned kids.

Jessa is SO VERY TINY, just 3 weeks post partum.

I barely recognized Jana, at first, I thought it might be Tabitha, the homeschooling teacher.

Is this the first we've seen of Jessa, since the birth, out of the hospital? She is so wan that I do wonder if she was dangerouly I'll, post-partum. If she is healthy, then she looks wonderful! After my first, I also bounced back quickly, thanks to my jogging/walking 3 miles daily during pregnancy, plus excersise.

Is that not Jana, joy, jinger, and binjermin? We had a pic of jessa snuggling spurgie a few days ago. Love how one of the IG commenters noted that white folk can't pull off the sideways hat. I really can't put into words how much I detest that look on him. It just reinforces his loafer status.

I am not sure which of the Stepford sisters are posing but I am pretty sure of the ubiquitous Starbucks cup. And because I am in a foul mood this evening, Ben really needs to lose that damn sideways hat. It just looks ridiculous. I want to slap it off his head. Riles me up as much as seeing baggy pants with boxers sticking out of the top.

It's very much the Old Testament God that they worship.

"Ben...has yet to do anything to be proud of..." Oh, but he does! He nailed Jessa! In his small mind, that makes him top man on the totem pole, because she picked him, HIM, over all those other guys that were fighting for her love and attention.
