That's what I thought. The way the car stops abruptly with the body virtually resting on the edge of the top step looks like something in the undercarriage got stuck there. I'll bet after the photo ops and celebration someone had to come back and lift the now-busted car straight up off the steps. I also wonder what damage the car did to that staircase, but I doubt if it will ever be publicized.

Even if Uber manages to clean up the crapstorm that is their legacy of harassment, rape, and other assorted misbehavior, I won’t believe ANYTHING until they get their drivers to actually obey the rules of the road. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been behind an Uber driver who stopped randomly in the middle of the street, suddenly turned in front of me without a signal, pulled an illegal U in a busy street, sat with a driver’s-side door open in the road, or stopped with their hazards in the middle of a busy one-lane street while they waited for a rider in the middle of the commute hour  (oh, I guess it’s ok that you’re illegally blocking traffic because you have your hazards on!)...

Regarding the....Addiction Network ad, I think it is, the part of that commercial that always gets me is when the guy's talking about how, with drug users, "someone dies, or worse, they hurt themselves or others."

I mean, yeah, drug abusers' behavior can certainly have a negative impact on those around them to devastating degrees, for sure...but I'm pretty sure dying is about as sucky an outcome as it gets. 'Cause there's no coming back from that. At all.

Sunday night, John Oliver on Last Week Tonight ran an expose on "rehab" facilities and mentioned Addition Network, which is a racket. It's just a referral service to rehab centers, which collect fees for the (totally random) referrals. There is little to no regulation over rehab facilities, and the industry is rampant with fraud.

When I was on the dance team in high school, the base of one of our uniforms was a white spandex bodysuit with puffy sleeves. Fortunately, we topped the suits with a white spandex skirt or blue spandex pants and a sequined vest, and I was very in shape back then. Still, white spandex is horribly unforgiving and really should be outlawed.

The way we avoided camel toe in the 1990s was by wearing pantyhose over underwear and under the spandex! Multiple layers!

It's not AC/DC. I ran it through Shazam which couldn't ID it, so maybe just the musical equivalent of stock photos - you can license stuff like that pretty cheaply, where a big-name band would cost you big bucks and doing it without permission gets you pulled from Youtube.

I posted about that one this past weekend. It came on while watching Law & Order on TNT. I agree about her supposed coworkers. 

The Walmart commercials airing where they show one big box on people's porches piss me off. Everytime I have made an order from their site over the years has resulted in multiple boxes from all over the US. Sure there might be one or two bigger boxes included but nothing has ever come in one single box. My most recent order was just over $40 with maybe 9 items and I ended up with 8 boxes on my porch when everything was delivered on the same day. Two smaller items came from the same location but were still put in two separate small boxes.

Agree- and along those lines I hate the ones for that toilet air freshener which features this woman  with a British accent wearing   a crinoline skirt sitting directly on a commode. Speaking of British accent, the ones for Cottonelle tissue featuring someone with that accent asking folks on the street to recount their experiences with toilet paper is also unpleasant. As much as I like British accents (and virtually all accents- including regional ones here), I think someone needs to tell these ad writers that British accents alone don't render tacky scenes/topics to be tasteful.
