I did say they can sway to the music since they don't dance. Swaying while side hugging should be ok. lol Oh man, what I would give to be a guest that this wedding! I must find a way!

They will be able to righteously fulfill their swaying, too, so you may have found the loophole.

But if JB doesn't like Jeremy ( especially if he he does have good reason), why did he approve the courtship? It's supposed to be his job to protect his virginal flowers from the penises of the world.

Little does Jim Blob realize he's the biggest dick of all.

Maybe the reception will be in a hotel event room? and they're checking it out/planning decorations. Sounds awfully costly for Boob though. Oh, of course, TLC...

Wow... A hotel ?!!!  Guess Jim Bob and TLC are really desperate to save this shit show,  even if it means adequate seating and real food for their guests.

Here's the problem with that though - JB didn't see Gothard as a lunatic and allowed his unsupervised daughters around him.  Plus, JB may be more of a lunatic than Jeremy and Cringe may be so used to lunatics at this point that it just seems normal to her.

Another good point. These Duggars are getting more and more fucked up by the kidult.  Every year that goes by gets freakier, kookier and unfortunately sadder (re: Josh molestation)

The only thing I can think of is that Jim Bob found something out about Jeremy.  I wonder if it wasn't that bare chested picture of Jeremy with the purple beads around his head...looking a bit....unexpectedly diffiferent.

It doesn't matter anyway.  They are getting married and we all know it. JB will continue to be an ass to Jeremy and Jeremy will continue to scare us all.

Do you guys think Fundies will travel to NYC for the wedding though? Isn't New York akin to Sodom and Gomorrah for them?

Not many, which is maybe the point? I always joke that I'd like a destination wedding to guarantee the small event that my huge extended and close knit family would otherwise would make impossible. Jinger's wedding would still be huge, but not 1000+ people.

Where did the NYC wedding rumor come from? I'd assume they were doing another SYTTD episode (err, is that show still even on?) rather than getting married in NYC. Though I can also see TLC coming up with the idea to hype of Jinger's love of the city.

I love how neither has a tie to NY, and would totally freak if they lived in the city, yet just have to get engaged and married there.

In their defense, Jeremy has ties to NJ. The tristate area in these parts is NJ-NY-CT. Parts of NJ and CT are essentially suburbs of NYC and part of the NYC metro area.

I'm trying to imagine a sit down wedding reception with actual food served and no music or dancing. It just doesn't compute. It's not as jarring to me in the typical Duggar wedding because everyone just stands around eating cake and drinking punch, but imagine the dullness of sitting through formal reception with nothing to break the monotony but polite chit chat?

Pickles posted crazy eye duggar pictures of two of the girls.  According to the post they are on a wedding planning trip.  Is this a thing now?  It's a good thing no one in that house has a real job where people expect them to show up for work everyday.  Or school for that matter.

I posted that picture last night. :)

Er, that's what we did. We don't dance, we only invited 30 people, and we bought them passed appetizers and champagne in the garden where we had the ceremony and a sit-down gourmet meal at a restaurant with free-flowing wine. It was more like a big fancy dinner party than anything else, which was what we wanted.

Now granted, I can't imagine having to find conversation with the Duggars and their ilk in  such a circumstance, but we invited grown-ups with actual careers and interests.

Pretty much a description of the entire Duggar lifestyle, no?

I'm not getting the creep vibe from Jeremy. I see him more in the dumb jock category. Granted his age combined with life experience would make him appear to be mature, but I'm not so sure.

I'm seeing him more as one of those dudes who dated someone his own age and got dumped because his girlfriend outgrew him. Then he dates some one a bit younger, and again gets dumped when the girlfriend outgrows him. And then he finds someone young enough and/or immature enough that won't outgrow him. And that would be Jinger.

For a small amount of people a dinner party makes total sense to me. But something about a large amount of people and no music or dancing seems off.

Interesting thought. I always got creep from him before (although until last week, that was just from sermon videos and very short takes). But last night I got mostly arrested development. Either way, I keep wondering why anyone would pay him to lead them to the Lord or whatever.

And I keep picturing the storefront church headed by Jer, Der and Bin. (with additional Duggar-brother preachers to be added later) .... And in that scenario, next to Bin, Jer and Der come across like Einstein and Abraham Lincoln. So maybe that's why Jer wants Bin for a "best friend."

You found the perfect word to describe Babe. I got the same vibe from him too. Why would a almost 30 man want a 20 year old (Bin) as a BFF? Also, the way he acted in the car with Bin about seeing Jinger was strange. He had just seen her 2 days before and was fixated on her being "in" the restaurant. That's when I thought there is something off about Babe. What 30 year old man would act like that? I also don't think he "scored" that much in his dating career. If he did he wouldn't be so damn immature and trying to race to the alter.

He was so off the charts bizarre in the car on the way to see Jing at the restaurant, going on and on about how she might get suspicious if her lunch took too long to get to her??  WTF??  Who thinks like that???  It was a childish plan anyway.  Way too much thought into bringing her meal to her.... It really just wasn't that big of a deal in the adult world.  And why didn't Jinge recognize Baaaaabbbbbbe's voice when he delivered her food?   She had to do a double take?   I have eye strain from rolling my eyes so much last night.  And Ben is the biggest dweeb I've ever seen...

Honestly! The jitters he had over the whole was so stupid.

Every time of go to Mike's Diner and they take forever with my pancakes should i be suspicious that my husband is in the back waiting to surprise me?

Ok, how about  NJ wedding...like in HOBOKEN with the Cake Boss doing up the cakes, food and shit.  Buddy did have a cooking show in 2011.  A TLC crossover.  Buddy can probably use some good publicity after he was caught doing like 95mph at 3am in a sports car and drunk. (wonder where he was at 3am in Manhattan alone)

Still a pretty view of the city and an urban feel but not the super extreme expense of Manhattan.

I am thinking a location other than Arkansas to up the interest of the viewers.  I mean, really now, yet another wedding with crap food and a parking lot? We are 100% certain that production reads these forums and possibly Jessa.  No one wants to see another Arkansas Sierra wedding.

Aw...I'm embarrassed to say it, but that kid is kind of growing on me.  He's so young and dumb, but sometimes I see traces of sly humor seep out.  He clearly adores his wife and son, seems to be a very active and involved dad, and doesn't appear to leave all the childcare to Jessa (diapers and such).  It's a low bar, but in this family I'll take what I can get.

ETA: Someone on the boards said something very similar a few weeks ago - want to give you credit for making me look at Ben a little differently these past few episodes, but I can't remember who said it!

And didn't Babe say something like "I can't believe she's in there" when they were pulling into the lot, like it was the Queen of England waiting for him?  I'm still laughing how they raced out of the car into the back door of the restaurant like they were on an adventure show being filmed by Duggar Studios. I also liked Ben eating Jinge's taco waiting for all the Baaaaabbbbee hoopla to die down.  I probably would have done the same thing & that tray of nachos the girls were munching on looked good.

ETA:  Does anyone else watch My Big Fat Fabulous Life with Whitney Thor? The heavily bearded guy in the Tacos kitchen looked just like her so called boyfriend Lennie.  We think he was hired by TLC to play her boyfriend, so maybe since that show is between tapings, he gets to play a cook on Counting On.

I also thought Ben was hilarious for eating the tacos. He was all like I didnt know how long we would be standing there lol!

Haven't seen the episode of Babe and Cringe but sounds like they are all just trying to live their lives to make for what they think will be entertaining TV.   From public birthday letters, hearts and crafts, I'm not sure they know at this point where their lives begin and where the show ends.  It's just all a blur.

Yeah, I think a bunch of us were saying this. I like Bin, too (especially compared to the, you know, actual Duggars). But while I like him, I fear for that family if he truly thinks he's going make money as a pastor -- and as the father of what he keeps saying he hopes will be a large brood. To me, he's a basically well intentioned person -- open to other people, actually wants to learn some things -- who will nevertheless effectively prove to be a giant mess when it comes to putting together a real adult life, once the TLC cradle falls off the ratings bough.

My biggest issue with Ben is that he is so friggin young, no real job, in online college part time and has a SECOND baby on the way!   He does not seem the least bit concerned with providing for his family in any way.   He just seems like he exists, so to speak.  Does his thing every day.  No sense of urgency.  Frustrates the shit out of me.

The fascinated taco munch was by far the best part of the show!!!  Hysterical!  Jinge's double take was awesome.  I activated my "suspension of disbelief" button and it really looked like a sweet scene.

I'm not sure Babe and Cringe have the capability of being genuine and authentic people.  Like the entire Duggar family they live for the camera.   From either taping, posting, or photographing every event in their lives no matter how minor they're just like characters now.  The real people behind the characters they portray to the public have become superficial to the point of living for the show or social media.

It's what they've been deliberately raised to do. Which is tragic. They've been consciously raised to squelch all authenticity in favor of what might keep the tv show humming. "Don't say that! You should wait to make it a season-ending cliffhanger announcement!" The idea that that's a good way for people to behave -- and, worse, a good way to coach children and teenagers to behave -- is mind-boggling.

And this is Jim Bob's version of supporting his megafamily. Forcing them to stunt and distort themselves so that their activities earn the money that he ought to be bringing home, since he's the one who spawned them all, in the service of the parental egos. He's the ultimate in selfishness.

One of the things that really bugged me about the Germy-Cringer courtship is how Jinger seemingly has nothing going on between her ears that are her own thoughts or emotions.

I would have bet any money that had the Laredo Tour included Jeremy showing her a pile of dog shit, she would have breathlessly answered in her squealy voice..."Baaaaaabe, I LOVE it...so amazing!"

Didn't they get engaged at Liberty State Park? They could do the wedding at Liberty House. I've been to two wedding there and it's gorgeous--it would be completely wasted on the Duggars and their ilk, of course, and too expensive for their preferences (anything in NJ with a Manhattan view is close to Manhattan prices), but definitely an option. Pictures will have the NYC skyline, so Jinger will get her city without actually being *in* the city, which is probably what she likes.

Lascuba,         That's a good idea! Something that would be interesting to the viewers.

Ben eating those tacos was probably one of the most authentic moments on the show ever. Ben has grown on me.

Ben was just hungry. Gonna eat that? But yes, very unscripted. I looked up Tacos 4 Life menu and they have a pretty eclectic menu. Also think it's cool they donate a portion of their proceeds to hunger relief.

Tacos 4 Life is VERY directed. Don't let the hipster front fool you. When the wife got (rightfully) ambushed regarding Duggar appearances, she became a total snot and banned people. This is the one who had the creepy (blindfolded, etc) baby shower at 5 months pregnant last "season."

Isn't she the one Benessa befriended & gave Spurgey's old clothes to or am I confusing her with someone else?

ETA: just checked out Tacos 4life website. They have 3 locations & are opening 4th. If they are doing that well, they don't need to be accepting baby clothes donations & let Benessa find another family to give to. ( I realize it was producer driven anyway.)

Which shouldn't be to hard for them since they've been taught what to think, say and do since they were old enough to sit on a blanket.

I found this article about The Duggaloos with input from a psychotherapist that discusses Boob's controlling behavior.  The comments are spot on too.

Babe's non-response to the incredibly offensive questions were perfect. Let's see if he maintains his independence and dignity when he is offered the pool house and a free church front.

  • Love 8

I would love to see Jeremy and Jinger live independently of the Duggars. Even if Jim Bob offers them a house and job, I have a feeling Jeremy knows that he wants to remain independent and will just say "no thanks".

This is the first time I remember in all of the courtships that I haven't heard anything about Jinger and Jeremy saving their first kiss for their wedding day.
