We've known for, what, two days that she's pregnant and it already feels like the longest pregnancy ever.

At least until Lauren's next gestation.  I think TLC realizes that pregnancies in the Duggar daughters are more popular with the viewers than the daughters- in law gestating.  I expect Jessa will be trying hard to conceive now that she is the only tv star daughter who can fill the gap.  She will be poised to announce her next blessing as soon as Joy gives birth.

I’m really, really hoping covid America’s had enough of the Duggars, the ratings drop this season, and it finally ends.  We might not have to tough it out till November. I’m sure we still would though, watching shit get real for these jerks would be the best entertainment they’ve ever produced.

I definitely think Jessa will be announcing soon. Ivy is one, so that would be a nearly two-year gap between blessings.

As far as the Vuolos, I previously thought Meghan Markle had the most obnoxious pregnancy in human history. I think Jinger is going to give her a run for her money.

Bahahahahahaha I was an English major at a Christian college, and he would totally have been that kid. There was one I nicknamed The Ghost of Puritans Past. He is her intellectual doppelganger. (I was the queen of finding awkward phallic symbols in everything, but I mainly just did that to be an asshole. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. 😉 )

But the amount of literature, art, music, etc about sex is legion.

After reading that pretentious "creation in conception is a divine act" statement, my first thought was that what's she said.  I also think the running Brooklyn 99 gag of "title of your sex tape" works here as well.

Oh my specialty was finding things that had nothing to do with sex and making them dirty. One day, I identified over 40 phallic symbols in our writing center. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My coworker got so weirded out that she stopped eating her carrot--hehe--and walked out.

At that college, I had an argument with another girl who was a senior who was getting married in a few weeks because she thought all sex scenes in movies were "porn." Because I'm pedantic, I explained in detail why that is not porn. And she was offended. She was in her early 20s!

I suspect the average Duggar is even more uptight and clueless. Which is sad.

So there are never mistakes made in composing a human in the womb Jere? Au contraire as most of us know, mistakes happen all too often and you really shouldn't count on having a perfect child. If a mistake wasn't made why did Jing lose the baby last year?

I really despise these people and their proclamations when they know nothing about science. And what really gets me is he's quoting a mathematician. And I know I just run to the local mathematician when I need to know about genetics, embryo development and all that stuff.

I think Jessa is already pregnant, but if she's not, you're probably right.

I don't know if Duggar daughter pregnancies are more popular. People seem to like Kendra.  It's still a little soon for any of the daughters-in-law to announce a new pregnancy, but probably soon enough they'll announce more babies on the way.

You know when your popularity depends on the fecundity of your daughters and daughters-in-law you haven't got much going for you. So sorry about your little show JimBlob.

YES, Jeremy! Yes, we can comprehend it! This is one of those cut and dry things that shouldn’t be made into some sort of sermon, or “thoughtful” Instagram post. He’s literally saying that felicity is going to be a big sister in the first paragraph. That’s literally it. Yes, we can comprehend it.

he is SO insufferable! He has to make everything he says sound so profound, but not everything is profound.

He thinks like an adolescent. Every thought is a pearl no one else has ever seen. So delusional to think that he can be some mega preacher man.

And yes, Duggars are stunted and sad.

I hearby move that Reverend Fancy Pants’ name be formally changed to Pretentious Twatwaffle.

Second?

I'll third and fourth this if it will help 🙂

And I also want to be friends with all those English majors with a predilection for finding the Freudian imagery in whatever came their way.  I was not an English major, though, in retrospect, it might have been a better fit for me than the Biology which I started out as, or the Psychology which I eventually suffered through to get a degree of some description...I think I was just not cut out for higher education. I did, though, have a notebook entitled "thoughts from the gut(ter)" at about that time, in which plenty of these thoughts might have been at home.

Anyway...

I've been meaning to comment, though I hate to say anything negative about a baby/toddler, but Felicity has really been going through what I hope will just be one of those awkward periods which come around in almost everyone's childhoods once, twice, or a few times. She is just not photographing as cute right now, and I really hope that if Prop #2 turns out to be another really photogenic baby, Felicity  will not be relegated to "has been" before she turns three...

I didn't watch the video but this statement alone is very misleading, "pursuing professional soccer, marriage, fatherhood, seminary and pastoring all amidst navigating this season as part of a nationwide reality show".

His soccer career is over, he barely pastored in Laredo before he started school and appears to pastor even less now and he's one of at least a dozen family members on the show. And why add the marriage and fatherhood part when the majority of husbands and fathers do have a job and many attend school.

So Jeremy's goes to school and appears in a TV show 5 or 6 times a year. Very unremarkable.

And what, is pro-skating Jeremy's new shiny object?

I listened to their Instagram Live a couple of hours after it was over. One thing they talked about was that parenting has made them realize their own selfishness. Their examples were that when they want to just sit and watch a TV show or look on their phone and Felicity wants attention or needs something, so they have to tend to her. Or if she's crying at night while they're sleeping. Somehow I suspect that this had been a bigger problem for JereME than for Jing.

If they’re challenged by one, just wait until there are two...bwahahaha 😈

As Jessa's sidekick she may have gotten even more  practice than the rest of them in slavishly following the lead of egotistical pushy people. They all had to do that with JB and M. But she had to dance to JB's, M's and Jessa's tunes on a daily basis, I'll bet. I can't think of anybody else who was likely to have had a relationship quite like that with a sibling. Poor Jingle.

Or Jinger was the sister who never quite fit in and she stuck to Jessa, because Jessa was one of the few kids who wasn't afraid of her parents. Before Jessa had Spurgeon, she seemed like the one who was most likely to rock the boat. She likes Jeremy, because compared to the group she was raised in he's easier and less demanding even if they do have to take perfect photos all the time.

I don't think any of these people are particularly nice, but I don't believe Jessa is necessarily as bitchy as she is made out to be.

I think Jessa learned to be a bully because offense was her best defense in a toxic, dysfunctional household.

With regards to Jinger and Jeremy, she's a sheltered woman with no dating experience, so naturally she thinks he hung the moon. I don't think Jeremy is abusive or mean towards her, but it's clearly his world and she's just living in it. Jinger is happy to go along because she doesn't know any better, but I suspect it will get tiring eventually.

Jinger essentially left one cult and joined another cult. The eternal follower, indeed.

I don't remember a recent picture where Felicity looked like she was genuinely happy either. Contrast that with Gideon who often appeared to be smiling brightly in his pics.

She's learned how to reply with scathingly sarcastic retorts. Then she probably blocks you. She can get downright bitchy.

And fragile and way bitchy/bullying/other pushy angry stuff often go together.

If you're scared of stuff, blustering around and scaring everybody else off and being rigid gives the impression that you're tough and makes people back off.

To me, she's always JIm Bob in a dress. And I suspect Jim Bob's a major scaredy cat in many different ways. He handled it by joining a cult that tells you Jesus wants you to keep away from everybody different (read scary) and to set up a family and employment system in which you are the sole controller of all things.

In slightly different ways they avoid stuff they're scared of by taking control of what's in their immediate environment and isolating themselves from everything else.

I predict that Felicity is going to be one little hell-raising, pugnacious spitfire in the not-too distant future. Bright kids have pretty decent bullshit detectors at a remarkably young age, at least until it’s shamed out of them.

It’s my belief she’s smarter than her parents put together.

I have an ongoing fantasy where we send Churchie and Zella over to the TTH on “Family Night” with huge Bibles tucked in their bags, have them pretend to be missionaries and then record them demolishing the Duggars with their wit and knowledge. 😈

I'm glad you said it.  Not her fault, but she just isn't nearly as cute as she was as an infant.  It may be just a phase. The fact that her parents are constantly shoving a camera in her face and posting her every move is probably not helping either.

I wonder if Felicity's mood change is because JinJer used the lockdown to start blanket training her so she's robotically compliant when the new baby arrives. Jeremy's public family image is pretty much the same as Jim Bob's - perfect submissive wife with perfect submissive child/ren. Felicity may be allowed to wear jeans, dance to music, and even go to an exclusive, private christian school once Jeremy grifts tuition, but I don't think he's going to allow her to do anything that may cloud his image as the most perfect person in the world.

I think Jinger is highly aware of how her sheltered childhood has left her unaware of so many things, leaving her feeling insecure. Jeremy, who won't admit out loud that he is a bottom runger, is also insecure so he takes every opportunity to impress Jinger with his knowledge.

Jeremy is to busy stroking his own ego that he doesn't realize how his behavior effects Jinger. Hopefully Jinger will figure out that knowing about mainstream culture doesn't necessarily make you smarter or better, and she will come into her own.

Jinger needs to take a hard look at Jeremy and realize he puts on his fancy pants one leg at a time and his shit does stink. Maybe being isolated together for these last few months will hurry up the process.

That's a really good analysis of these two.

Some of the awkward homeschooled kids I knew at C of O did a variation of this. Because their parents were all uptight and religious, they'd never watch anything that wasn't religious, so they'd come to college, meet other sheltered people, and they'd watch--I kid you not--Monty Python and the Holy Grail or The Princess Bride for the first time and then think the fact they would quote these infamously quotable beloved movies to each other made them special?! It was bizarre! They would literally sit at a table together in the cafeteria, quote the whole swallows and coconuts conversations to each other, and then look at everyone else with the smuggest face. "I bet you can't figure out what we're talking about" just radiated off their faces. And then they'd be confused when they found out you already knew these lines too.

They never did figure out that they were the johnny come latelies and not hipsters for finally discovering something other people had loved for decades.

One thing that would help these two fools look less like posers--and we've chatted about this before on here--is if they actually had something intelligent to offer about any of the subjects they claim to like. Jeremy claims to like fashion and food, but he never does anything besides smugly pose with food and fashion. He'd look like less of a twat if he could offer fashion or foodie tips, but he can't because I doubt he knows enough about the subjects to offer anything original or even to recycle basic advice.

Or--and they would never do this, because Duggars can't admit that their upbringing was lacking and Jeremy's whole brand is being a know-it-all--they could go the opposite direction and be (fake instagram) open about not knowing a damn thing and make their social media all about the things they're learning. This would make it almost entirely about Jinger, but their social media presence only exists because of Jinger anyway.

And it would be such an easy way to gain more followers, aka ad revenue. People lose their minds over pants; imagine if they strongly implied that their parents didn't teach them anything worth learning and they're now learning from scratch.
