Beautiful In Memoriam and also very sad. Many of my favorites passed away and hearing Carrie say 'May the Force be with you" will always be sad to me.

Glad we got to hear a mention of Bill Paxton.

They were fairly close together, but I think the In Memoriam segment honors those who passed between February 1 of the current year and January 31 of the following year.

I'm glad Kimmel doesn't disappear for the middle of the show as some hosts do.  BUT, when Carson used to host, he just hosted. He didn' t need to bring Karnac or any of his characters out to play.

I remembered it that way too.  And it was an awful one two punch, they were in the same year.  Bowie in January and Prince in April.  That explains why Bowie was honored last year and Prince in this year.

Amy Adams should have been nominated for best actress damn it! She was amazing in Arrival. I love Meryl but she didn't deserve a nom this year.

The Jimmy vs. Matt thing is really old, but that still made me laugh. I especially loved Ben's "really" after Matt said he was proud of We Bought a Zoo.

Seems kind of biased for them to present when Manchester by the Sea though.
