I wonder if Jill knows how stupid her writing makes her sound. She was home schooled by her parents, and she obviously didn't learn anything except how to make capital letters. I can't imagine how little education her own children have received. 

Also, they planned a trip out west, including contacts along the way (to feed them), in a half hour? Yeah, sure. It takes Jill longer than than to put the hair and makeup on. 

I'd like to see David have an accident emptying the sewage tank on the RV. However, it's probably one of the slaves who does that job. 

The scariest part is that the Rodriguii and their ilk think they are the gold standard and that Jesus is coming back any day now to clean away the riff raff and populate America with people just like them. Could a merciful God really be on board with this plan?

Actually, I don't think that's the way it's supposed to work (unless maybe if you are a Jehovah's Witness - they believe that the Earth will be made perfect and they will populate it). For most Christians who subscribe to the Rapture theory, those who are saved get to go to heaven to be with Jesus, and the Earth will be Satan's dominion where the rest of us will suffer until we go t hell to suffer even more horrifically.

This is one of the bazillion photos Stormy took of their trip out West.  Notice what's on the dashboard?  A DOG CARRIER!  How did David get in the RV, start up the RV and see the carrier and not go, Oh wait, I let the dog out.  We need to grab him before we leave??? Or the fact that Jill didn't realize that the dog was not in his carrier, oh wait, I'm sure she needed to apply some more makeup after being outside in the heat.  These folks really piss me off.

DD is home from college for the weekend. She’s had a great adjustment to being away, with a few rough spots.  Even with strong parental support, academic readiness, plentiful food and a reasonably comfortable financial situation, it is a huge adjustment. Poor Timmy has a lot stacked against him. I hope he somehow manages.

I bet I know what transpired. A hoard of kids who were overly excited at having something interesting to do for a change were basically unsupervised and running wild around the campground. Jill was occupied sorting her photographs and "writing" her blog back at the Rrrr Veee. She only gets involved with the kids when she can cry Christian persecution. Notice how nothing is ever, ever her fault.

She's also a liar. If a mousetrap had violently come down on Nurie's toe, Nurie would have been screaming in pain, not looking under the cooler to see what caused the "thud." The trap could have broken her toe, if it had actually caught the toe, which it obviously did not. Also, Jill told the pool employee that the kids were swimming in their modest Christian swimwear, not street clothes. Not only were those their street clothes; they were probably the same clothes they had been wearing for the past two or three days. Maybe Jill thought swimming was a way to wash the clothes without paying to use the washing machines. 

Jill is full of shit. Well, she did get it right when she said the family was peculiar.

I especially enjoyed when she admitted that the command to get out of the pool  came at a moment when she  was gearing up to God-bother some poor other camper who was swimming in the pool. It would not surprise me in the least if they had been harassing people all over the campground and witnessing for Jesus or whatever she called it. If that is the case and people complained to the management it would not surprise me if the street clothes thing was the last straw. She is insufferable.

Jill can also save her outrage about the growing dislike for children she claims to see everywhere. This fool just dropped her totally unprepared son off for college across the country without even $10 to buy his books. If anyone is doing a disservice  to children it is Jill and her husband.

It is so very typically Jill to decide that they were persecuted for their faith and to compare herself to Christian martyrs imprisoned and tortured.  Because, of course, if a non-Christian family of FOURTEEN went to a campground where spaces were limited to 6-8 per vehicle, swam in their street clothes and turned their ten underage children loose in the gift shop/game room with only a single not very bright 19 year old to supervise; nobody would’ve said a word.

KOA caters to families with children; there is no way the Rodriguii were victims here; they clearly foisted themselves upon the employees and families and expected everyone to bow down and acknowledge their superiority and let them take over the place.

The fact that KOA refused to return their money indicated to me that they broke a bunch of rules that they’d signed off on in their contract and that KOA doesn’t want their business in the future, either.  Jesus would be so proud!

KOA campgrounds not only have occupancy limits on sites, but the base price is generally 2 adults and 2 kids. Extra adults and kids cost an additional amount per. For example, the one I am familiar with charged $5/kid over 2 years old and $7/adult. Some charge for additional vehicles. I’m sure the Rs were breaking lots of rules. 

 

Thought that’s been troubling me...buying flowers, fasting, etc. I think sadly that it’s the way the kids can get attention/noticed.

I'd argue the exact opposite. What I see is people making excuses for children and their shitty behavior, using children for bragging rights, and declining to criticize other people's parenting and children because it'll get them shamed. There's a lot of room between "children should be seen and not heard" and "children are blessings." I could go on, but I don't feel like dealing with it now. 

I'm convinced the only reason most people have children is because they get pregnant, and society expects them to have kids. I know many people, blue collar and white collar, who chose not to have kids because they don't like them and/or don't want them. That doesn't mean they see kids in general as a bother or that society has a "heavy dislike for children." It just means they made a decision that's right for them. 

Look at the praise heaped on parents. I can tell you as a childless person that it makes me feel like a total loser just because I haven't spawned. My childless and childfree friends feel the same way. Mother's Day, that noted social construct, is one of the biggest gift-giving holidays on the calendar -- and it's made up! That to me doesn't look like a culture that dislikes children. 

For the record, I like most kids and I'm disappointed that I haven't had any. That doesn't mean I'm going to overlook another volunteer's brat COLORING ON MY SHIRT at an adoption event or getting in everyone's way when we're working, or that I'm going to excuse my eighteen-year-old niece living like a damn pig in the bedroom she has to share with her sister.

I don't think it's so much that society has a 'heavy dislike' of kids as that we have a 'heavy dislike' of unsupervised children who haven't been taught the rules of civility.  I once was seeing a pregnant patient who was not my personal patient, but her doctor  or midwife wasn't available so  I was seeing her.  Anyway, I go into the exam room, her two other children are playing with the privacy curtain.  One kid is standing on the wheeled exam stool hanging on to the curtain for dear life.  He is maybe 3 years old.  The other child is shoving the stool as hard as she can from one side of the room to the other so the first kid can 'ride' the stool and the curtain across the room.  She is maybe 5 years old.  Their mother is sitting there not reacting to this activity.  Upon entering the room, I see what is happening and immediately remove the toddler from the stool while telling both kids that it is dangerous to stand on the stool and that the curtain is not meant to hold their weight either.  The mother looks at me and says, "I guess you don't like children".   OK, then. 

ETA: I have dozens more stories even worse than this one.  My personal experience is that parents like Jill who accuse people of disliking children are actually attempting to deflect attention from their lack of appropriate parenting of said children.  She turns 11 kids loose in a small store and game room and then pretends she's the injured party when somebody tells the kids to leave.

Good God, it hasn't even been a month!  Leave the poor kid alone!  And, yes, it appears there is plenty of money for extended stays at campgrounds, cross-country flights, etc, as long as it is Jill who is benefiting from those things. Tim is SOL when it comes to 'luxuries' like textbooks and food.

Oh I hope not.  I hope she has to delay her travel to do something crazy, like take care of her kids, like grift for money for a mama party to overcome her grief of Timothy being so far away.

There is no way she will allow one of her “blessings” to live across the country. I am sure the Lord has laid it upon Timmie’s heart to “move back home with Mama.”

The JRods come across as numbskulls. However, what's central to all of their actions is that Jill gets a trip, a vacation, a car, a party, attention, sympathy--something she wants. Jill's narcissism is the key to the weirdness this family exudes. Everyone else, including Jesus, is a bit player in Jill's self-focused world.

Timothy is probably done. Mama can't stand he has freedom and she doesn't.

That...makes no sense.  Either men/women persecute those who are righteous/make Bible choices - which would also mean men/women provide consequences/judgement to those who are sinful/make worldly choices.  Or God persecutes those who are righteous/make Bible choice and also provides consequences/judgement to those who are sinful/make worldly choices.

Which I'm guessing is not what she wants to say...but that's how it reads. 

What she probably meant was something along the lines of "Man persecutes those who are righteous, while God judges those who are sinful". But that would be grammatically correct. And make sense.
