Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

For goodness sakes, let’s go for the photo op, with no regard for Covid. This is the girl Lawson Bates has posted about:

From October 5th:

There needs to be an ANGRY reaction. I’m clicking “sad” but I am angry at these foolish people who would use a little girl for clicks and put her at risk for a deadly virus.

I'm not surprised that they're exploiting poor Esther. I hope (probably against hope) that she doesn't fall ill.

We even see dumba** Lawson, sitting next to her bedside in THE HOSPITAL, pulling his mask down to make a video with her.  Of course, he probably put it on in the first place only because he couldn't get into the hospital without it.  God forbid he doesn't post about how amazing he is for bringing the little girl here for surgery.

I, too, am a healthcare professional and am also waiting on my COVID bonus.  The imaginary one.  I have no idea how these people have come to the conclusion that there is a bounty on COVID patients.  When the initial allotment of extra money for PPE and such was given to hospitals; it was partially apportioned based on the size of the hospital and the amount of disease present in that community; but that money has long been spent and many hospitals that got the initial disbursement are only now seeing a surge in cases.  I work for a massive hospital system which hasn't laid anyone off and hasn't cut pay for anyone either; but they are the exception and, believe me, there is plenty of belt tightening in other areas, including a requirement that all practitioners on staff add 'non-traditional' office hours evenings, early mornings or weekends.

The number of COVID deaths is always going to look smaller than it is in the statistics because 1.  When someone is diagnosed with COVID, they usually don't die right away; deaths are most common 2-3 weeks into the illness.  So, we're now reaching peak numbers of cases diagnosed, but the rise in deaths isn't going to happen until mid-November.  Happy Thanksgiving!  2. When the CDC and other agencies report the number of deaths per week, the numbers are initially very low.  This is because the deaths are reported by each state using death certificates as the source of the information.  It usually takes a couple of weeks, but can often take a couple of months for a death certificate to be filed.  So, the statistics on deaths reported to have occurred in the last week are going to be way lower than the death rate from a couple months ago because most of the deaths from last week haven't been reported yet.  There is constant updating of the numbers going on and it is a couple of months before the statistics catch up with the reality.   I saw a political type bragging about how we've obviously got COVID on the ropes since, despite the huge rise in cases, the proportion of deaths last week was tiiny compared to a few months ago.  Take a look at the stats for last week at the end of December and I will bet the death rate hasn't changed much.  We're better than we were in March and April, but not that much better.

Thanks for the update @doodlebug.

I go to a wound center that is located on the first floor of our local hospital away from the ER & not near the floors of admitted patients.  I'm only going now when one of my home nurses finds something that the doctor needs to take a look at. The staff & docs are all garbed in their PPE gear I've noticed a real drop in the doctors. One has retired after Covid started. Good for him. He was a general surgeon in his former medical life so I'm sure he's  just tired of working plus he's older so  more at risk and he wants to spend time with his family. Another doctor's hours got cut way back from almost daily to 2 half days weekly.  He's in charge of admitted  wound patients which I'm sure aren't many like it used to be. Luckily the nurses are still there but their hours have probably gotten cut back too. I feel like I'm spoiled when I now having three nurses work on me when it used to be just one.

ETA:  I just can't believe these people dont think its an automatic to wear a mask around this little girl.  I think I might ask for those ventilator mask things for protection.

Like many have said, you can't step in a hospital with out a mask plus there are still many visitor rules to follow.

Where is Esther staying if she is out of the hospital?  The Bates clan??

I'm sure Esther is staying with the Bates or someone from the church; they need the access to drag her from place to place to show off their godliness.

I am in my 60's and have never seen practitioners so on the verge of meltdown as I do now, myself included.  It is tougher than he** to go into work these days and I am not usually working in the hospital, I'm in a medical building on a floor devoted to women's health.  I've got several close friends, two a couple years older and one slightly younger.  One of them is an infectious disease specialist.  She is also a wife whose husband has a major heart problem.  She has refused to go to the hospital, does a lot of her visits virtually, and has already decided to retire at the end of the year, a couple years earlier than anticipated.  An OB/GYN friend almost lost her husband when he had a massive cardiac arrest in the midst of lockdown.  It was touch and go for a while, but he is doing ok; he has also retired from his job early.  Meanwhile, my friend has stopped doing surgery so she doesn't have to go into the hospital and has cut back in the office, too.  Another gyn friend with a husband with significant health problems, who is also mid 60's herself, has stopped taking call and doing surgery and is now working part time to avoid exposure. We are going to have a lot of experienced practitioners bowing out early because of the pandemic.   I cannot even imagine the pressure on the docs on the front lines.

I don't doubt where they get their news from, and it's the same place where so many other people have as well.  For months, I have heard people whispering that the death count and the total number of cases has been inflated because hospitals, doctors, states, etc get more money for every covid related death.

My best friend's husband is in that camp. My husband who is in insurance said that is all a bunch of bull.

That's a little Wednesday Addams look right there!

I'm trying to figure out who's demise she is plotting--her mom, her elder brother, or her baby brother.  I don't think it's Big Sis, she looks like she is done with her family as well.  And the little girl Nurie is holding, she is going to be the wild one.

Nurie does have a genuine smile on her face, true happiness is reaching her eyes. Such a difference between her “smiles” with Best Mama Ever, which was less of a smile and much more of a grimace. I still hate her beliefs, however...

I think the fact that Jill doesn't have any friends currently is why she feels this way. And Nurie um..died and went to live in Florida so she has nobody.

She's probably never had a friend, only sisters, and that spouse of hers, and her "best friend" kids.

OR is she throwing her kids under the bus? Which one of them didn't buy her a gift for some reason?

She and the baby brother appear to be giving the older brother a "What the hell are you looking so smug about??" look, so I'll go with him.

I totally want this girl, Davia Waller, Brooklyn Paine, and whoever else can be rounded up among the small-fundie-girls-who-are-so-over-this-shit to form a massive revolution. Maybe Jenni Duggar could lead it.

What the hell is with her sticking out her tongue in just about every picture? Granted, that Plexus drink probably tastes like crap but really Jill, knock it off.

because she is under the delusion she is a teenager. I don't recall seeing Michelle Duggar do this, or at least not so much.

I honestly don’t think Jill actually drinks it daily. Only to advertise it. It’s pretty expensive and her makeup monthly bill has to be a lot. Not to mention feeding Shrek must cost $500 a month.

Tessie definitely wasn’t allowed to drink that. Maybe she had a sip of that.

Jill lost a half inch off the bottom of her nose, narrowed the bridge, and erased at least an inch from her super long pointed chin. That purple Plexus stuff must be great to get those results.

I bet it cures eye infections caused by old makeup and tames frizz from over-bleached hair too.

That is just sad to see beautiful tessie Drinking a meal replacement drink. My mom had us all do slimfast and the like as teens, and it really screwed me up good.

Me,too.I guess Jill considered it bad advertising for David to drink it? But a child who doesn't need it is terrible

Why is that very slim (SKINNY) teenage girl having a meal replacement shake??? If she wants to "drink her calories" (because she prefers it), she can blend a smoothie like a normal person.

Even an overweight or obese teen really shouldn't be drinking that stuff (smaller meals to reduce calories, with more nutrient/low calorie foods is deal for teens who want to lose weight in a healthy way)- not a MEAL REPLACEMENT SHAKE unless you are on a medically supervised diet because Dr. Now (from My600lbs Life) is supervising you.

No child under 18 should ever be drinking a weight loss product even if that kid is overweight.  Tessie doesn't need to lose weight, and, if she did, a healthy, diverse diet combined with sensible exercise is the best way to do it.  I wonder if the Plexus company is aware that Jill, the gold level manager (or whatever title she holds) is using her underweight, underage daughter to try to sell a weight loss product.  The FDA might also take exception to her tactics.

Anniversary post by Erin Bates. Definitely looks pregnant. Sad because she's be dealing with a severe case of covid.

I’m not so sure.  She has not bounced back from her pregnancies as easily as Alyssa, Carlin, and Josie.  She seems to be built more like her mother.  But she sure seems to be going down the Jill Rodrigues path with regards to her makeup. 🙄

And speaking of the Bates, it can’t be said enough that Lawson is the most vain douchebag ever.  (Maybe there’s  just one other...)

They look like starving miserable refugees praying for their next meal. What a sad existence for the kids thanks to the most wonderful MAMA ever. Will she get 13 teddy bears and tons of candy to indulge  for her birthday? Will David take her to a good Olive Garden?

Feed your kids Jill.

Good Lord, I thought they were all dead from malnutrition. And why are they all in the “prepare for the crash” position?

And why does that one JRodling have mismatched socks? So many questions...
