Same. I really expected him to be terrible but he was bordering on great imo. I was kind of disappointed lol. I was looking forward to watching UCG. But I did actually really like those scenes because of his performance and because Sonny just looked completely dumbfounded the entire time so I did get some UCG at least.

That would be awesome!  Dr. Rolf, Salem's resident mad scientist, never fails at bringing the creepiness--man, but he's enjoyable to watch.

I sort of loved Sonny's being more freaked out that Evan had sex with Jordan then the fact that Evan changed his name and that he's David's father--priorities Sonny!  And Will looked suitably worried that Sonny was alone with Evan, the potential killer.

Ciara's running in and breathlessly declaring that the execution had to be stopped was cringe worthy--I was also cringing at Ben's desperate "I love you" to Ciara.  The show is really dialing up their "tragic" romance aren't they?

To be fair, this (probably?) means that Sonny's slept with the crazy by proxy. I thought it was kind of hilarious that Sonny thought that Evan/Whoever pulled a gun on a bad breakup. Someone's ego might be getting a little bit out of control...

Man oh man, but is it torture watching Ben and Ciara's "epic" love story play out in a series of flashbacks and Ben's muttering "Ciara, CIARA, I need you!" seemed borderline crazy to me.

I did however enjoy Will's shouting at Evan/Christian and I cheered when our boy Will tackled him, even though Evan had a gun--now that was a tough guy move 🙂

I do wonder if Ciara realizes that the warden/governor/Marlena will not be impressed that she's bringing Evan to the prison at gunpoint to confess.  

I know I shouldn't enjoy it but I did enjoy Gabi giving Eric and Sarah a little attitude--I know we're supposed to see Eric and Sarah as the "good guys" but there is something unpleasant about both of them that makes it hard for me to cheer for them..

Will said yesterday that the police were on the way but somehow they still have not arrived. god i wish Evan had just shot Ciara. I hope her and Ben are sent off on a 6 month vacation after this. Not sure why anyone at the prison would believe Ciara now that she has a hostage instead of ARRESTING her.

Gabi was the best part of the episode. I really wish she had got to throw it in Kristens face that she drugged and raped the victims father and recorded it costing him his position in the priest-hood (something the hypocrite Nicole also had a hand in). The warden was the next best part. He wasn't here for Marlena calling Ben innocent, pointed out Rafes incompetence in finding a sitter and that Ciara would do anything to get her boyfriend out of prison.

I hate that they keep letting Nicole get involved in situations that will lead to her lying to Eric, again and again and again. I can't believe she decided on that dress for sitting in a dirty hospital all day. The doctor is brave for returning, there has to be an article somewhere from when Xander was accused of stealing elephant gold from Africa and trying to Hansel and Gretel Ericole.

Kristen knew Stevano was running around in a kidnapped body and kept quiet allowing him and Gina time to kidnap John and Marlena but Brady just handwaves that away. Kristens change is BS. She was just committing crimes less than 2 years ago and kudos to Gabi for pointing out that Kristen used the same tactics for her own ass. And unlike Kristen, Gabi had nothing to do with Mickey Mouse's condition. Glad she got to shut that bitch up.

The "find the real killer" story was always a cheap way to force us stubborn viewers into feeling bad for serial killer Ben but the ending just really took any possible life out of an already draining story. Evan couldn't threaten properly, was a big cry baby and didn't shoot anyone. We are to believe he killed crazy Jordan?

How did they let Ciara take him before asking where David was? He is not in the car so he has to be stowed away somewhere. But who cares, all about Benny boy. Ciara better be arrested for kidnapping, holding a hostage, causing a threat to a prison, and anything else they can throw at her. Its what they deserve.

Nicole looked amazing but how stupid to dress like that to sit in the hospital all day.

I fast forwarded through all the Ben scenes but even in fast forward they were absolutely eye roll inducing. I know Ben/Ciara is quite popular but they really didn't earn that episode long montage of their epic love. Fucking hell!

I thought the Evan actor was pretty good again today. FS was as well and CM had some good moments. But honestly I wasn't paying a lot of attention to those scenes since I just kept shouting "Shoot her already!" at the screen.

I was going to start this post by saying that I don't advocate physical violence even in a fictional setting, but what the hell, after todays show I wouldn't have minded one bit if the whole episode was some clown chasing Ciara around the entire set so he could toss a cream pie in her face.

WHAT an annoying asshole she is.  Or, romantic heroine if you're not me.  And COME ON, Show - by now, somebody, anybody should have been pistol whipped to death just by that grungy mass of hair flapping around on her giant head.  Between her screeching and posing and Ben making fish faces that apparently are supposed to indicate DEEP emotion, Show felt like it was made entirely from outtakes filmed at at Clown College.

Show could have done us all a favor and had Ciara somehow trip and get stuck with the barbituate needle by accident, anything to shut her up.  I'm not saying she's a bigger loudmouth than Julie, but the family resemblance is eerie.  

Poor Evan.  Can you imagine the car ride he had with her to the prison?  If he wasn't homicidal before he sure is now.

Forget the death penalty, what about the Deaf penalty we're all sentenced to everytime she's on screen?

But the nonsense didn't stop there, nosirreeBOB it did not!  We had the supposed desperate parents, particularly Sarah, screeching crap at Gabi, the woman who is saving their child.  Or who they think is their child.  Yeah, she was being a pill but don't you think it might just be in your own interests to shut the fuck up and not yell at her UNTIL the procedure is over?

But to make this trip down the rabbit hole complete, then, THEN, Show subjected us to Kristen ripping Gabi a new one because Kristen, apparently, has become the holiest holy who ever holied because she's restrained herself from kidnapping or raping or stealing fetuses or attempting murder for a whole year. 

Oh yeah, Brady, she's changed.

And you, Brady, don't have your head stuck hard up your ass.  Come to think of it, maybe that's why Brady has been clean shaven lately, cuts down on friction....

Show has done something I never thought possible.....It has created a character from all the worst parts of Julie, Jenn, Abigail and Grumpy Cat, and called it

Ciara.

I ff'd through the Ben and Ciara flashbacks. It is Tuesday and still leftover turkey breast roast day and I also had leftover stuffing and gravy.

Kristen, Easter is just around the corner and you can then stop being a good girl in a few weeks. You are about as holey as a donut.

Guess Eric and Sarah have never heard of rush hour traffic (although I thought the last meal in the prison meant dinner and I am thinking it is morning, but I really don't know - maybe the prison and hospital are in two different areas of the country, or Salem, or wherever) and finding a parking space in a busy hospital where I really don't see many actual patients. And how convenient that the well paid off doctor came back early to avoid Spring Break at the Dominican Republic or Costa Rica or wherever she was. There are no actual specialists at the hospital? Is it Frankenstein's lab with Dr. Rolf chuckling away somewhere?

Maybe not rip at Gabi until after the procedure? Not like she can reinject the bone marrow. Both Sarah and Kristen need to shut up a bit.

And speaking of shut up, shut up Ciara and stop wailing for her, Ben. Surprised Evan survived the car ride to the prison with her. I'd be making a run for it. No staff at the K mansion to accost the murderous boyfriend with a cast iron pan or something?

Xander, that bill is coming due.  

Ciara is so freakin PRIVILEGED.  Waltzing into a prison with a murderer held at gunpoint.  I expect her to receive a scolding from someone for 20 secs before getting praised.  

I’m glad we are reaching the climax of this story. It’s a bit OTT for me right now.

OTOH, 

Gabe sauntering into the hospital channeling her inner Scarlett O’Hara was excellent.  I liked the way she stands up to her critics.

Darnell Williams used be acting coach and work on retainer for AMC. If Days wasn’t so cheap or poor I’d wish they’d see if they could hire him. Finn Wittrock and Amanda Seyfried said a lot of what they learned before moving to prime time and movies was from him. 

Sarah and Gabi had a bitch off.

The stuff at the prison felt like a parody. There is no way the writers were sober when they wrote this. Ciara repeatedly told Chrisevan to say he killed Jordan, AT GUNPOINT. The warden should have continued the execution and then had the incompetent cops shoot Ciara. Ciara should at least be under arrest. This is nothing to be proud of. And once again Rafe is worried about David and Ciara's like, well he admitted to killing Jordan so Ben is safe. Rafe doesn't care about Ben. hahahahahahaha Ben lives

And shutup Ciara. Will you have the serial killer Ben with you when you are telling David that his dad is a killer? Marlena i am sure the citizens of Salem would be happy the serial killer that terrorized the town is finally dead. stop calling him innocent.

I feel like the show couldn't think of any crimes for Evan so they just keep saying he is a"criminal". I bet his crime will be something stupid like shoplifting as a kid or lying on his taxes. I couldn't hear what he said before he said he found her breaking into a cottage, so was he stalking her? How did both of them get on the Dimera premises? Eli really sucks as head security.

I have been annoyed by Maggie for a long time but i am glad she wants to take responsibility. this is the most likeable she has been written in a while.

Somehow Rafe was a day late and a dollar short but at least someone cares about Davids whereabouts. David better not be with Jordan.

Still don't get why the Dr returned if she is not evil and not planning to immediately spill the beans. Hahahahahaha at Xander being a changed man and not wanting to kill anyone. Victor mocking Kristen was the best part of the episode.

I hate Nicole getting involved in someone elses business once again and i definitely hate her talking about how bad Xander is when she was willing to let him raise Erics baby as long as she got to keep Eric away from Sarah. Guess baking her in an oven wasn't as bad as Eric bonding with another woman.

I really wish they had cut down on some of the stories after the time jump. It is understandable why there are so few people in the Ben story because despite the shows obsession with him, there is no reason for anyone else to care. But Ciara should be involved in the Gina story and giving this energy to rescuing her mother.

It would have been great if immediately after the jump, Ben was due to be executed, that way Eve could also show up and give some opposition to the sainthood Marlena and Ciara are giving him. Then they could find an error in the DNA evidence and call off the execution. This could have led to Eve leaving town instead of her leaving to....punish the Hortons?

With that out of the way Ciara could start noticing something strange about Hope and call Shawn so they figure out whats going on.

With Ben out of the way, Marlena could also be involved in the Stevano stuff. Maybe they can even find Rolf and force him to fix Hope/Gina so Stevano can feel the walls closing in so he ups the ante and brainwashes Chad to do his dirty work.

On today's show, I kept waiting for Evan/Christian to realize that he's a grown man with at least fifty pounds of muscle on Ciara and that he could easily wrestle the gun away from her.  Seriously, holding a man at gun point and screaming for him to confess will not make anyone in law enforcement realize Ben is innocent or stop an execution.  I did enjoy Marlena's pointing out that this means the investigation should be reopened--only Ciara's  dumb enough to think that Ben's going to be immediately released. Are we sure she's actually Bo Brady's kid?

I do love how SR's Maggie is playing her overwhelming grief and sadness over her actions and her annoyance at Victor's trying to placate her was well done.

I do not feel one iota of sympathy for Kristen--I know she lost a child but she's done so many malicious and hurtful things, and to see her walking around like she's some sort of paragon of virtue is just revolting.

Me? My eyes couldn't roll farther back. Even the ending today was predictable with Ben whimpering to Ciaaaara "you saved me". 

Since Ben was redeemed after killing multiple people I guess we can expect to see Evan/Christian redeemed next. Whats one little killing??

As a CIN fan, yup, that last scene got to me.  😊

But, most of the episode pertaining to Ben was ridiculous.  Which annoyed me, as for the most part the writing and the actors were treating the storyline seriously.  Then the last couple days, it's become a farce.  And the final straw was Rafe barging into the room with HIS gun drawn.  Like why?  Just stupid.  🙄

I must've missed that part regardless God  and Church on soaps has lost its meaning a very long time ago.

Yeah I know Eric was a priest who was raped and lost his collar over it and now his rapist is about to marry his brother. Of course there was Kristen/Lani acting like they were oppressed for being nuns(something they chose BTW) ... yeah real respect for religion I rather they just ignore the religion aspect on soaps.

at the Kiriakis Mansion, after being held at gunpoint and getting bopped on the head, OUR HEROES are discussing Sonny's odd ability to pick up psychopaths for quickies, while Will casually wonders if Ben has been executed for did Ciara make it there in time.....

while at Squawkers, Julie's cafe, Maggie is trying to eat a bile salad while Victor just can't understand why she didn't like his "get out of jail" free card and besides, he picked it out himself....

BACK at the prison, Little Nell is pressing a gun into the evil babysitter's neck while Ben stares back and does his hungry guppy impression, with Mar standing by looking as if she finally has realized this was a BAD way to choose to spend her morning.....

At the hospital, Krazy Kakes is in the nurse's lounge crying before the picture of dead Haley, telling her she's sorry but SHE DID tell her that Kristen's baby, Lil' Rosanna Anna Danna was dead so what did she expect, when in walks Pina Colada doctor, who's not into yoga and OOPS!, there's the not dead baby's mother!.....

BACK to the restaurant where Xander tells Maggie that Sarah needs her and Victor tells Xander to kill Dr. Pina Colada, if he likes making love at midnight, in the dunes on the cape....

BACK to the damned prison where Lil' Nell is blathering and evil baby sitter is blubbering and Ben is still making fish faces and the Warden looks extremely bored.....

Sigh....back to the hospital, Nicole is being a bit too nice to Kristen who is being a bit saner than usual as they discuss Pina Colada Doctor and lightbulb goes off over Nicole's head....

Genius!  I am laughing so hard my stomach hurts 🙂   I know this is a crazy soap, but this past week, especially the Prison scenes, have me wondering what the Heck are the writers thinking?!

I know that was all supposed to be high drama and edge of your seat suspenseful, but those prison scenes today were absolutely hysterical. boes, your summary is also hilarious.

I guess anyone can just walk into that execution chamber, even someone carrying a gun, without being stopped or challenged. And that creepy looking doctor.... I had to laugh when Evan tried to sneak out the door once Ciara was distracted, only to be confronted by Rafe. Is this going to be yet another example of the guilty party getting charges dropped if he reveals where David is? The Salem police force can’t seem to make anything stick. Hard to do I guess when the entire force consists of one man.

Still pondering how it could be Gabi who is the only bone marrow match. Are we going to find out that she and Kristen are somehow related?  I don’t recall over the years if the identity of Kristen’s biological parents has been revealed or hinted at.

My God, I think others have said better, but all of the stuff at the jail was beyond farce. 

I will give them a slight amount of credit that they had guards running in after Ciara when she busted in with Christian/Evan but it's beyond ridiculous that not only did she get in there with C/E while holding someone at gunpoint but that at no point C/E managed to get the drop on her. Not to mention this was already the second time Ciara just busted in there while a damn execution was in progress.

LOL at Rafe and others being so sure that C/E was done for just because he confessed in front of witnesses. Yeah, he confessed AT GUNPOINT. That confession would be tossed out like that if this show took place where logic lived.

Marlena weeping as if Ben was one of her children was so overkill.

Sonny's big smile as he told Will that Ben had been saved was nauseating.

I did have to laugh at so much of it. Ciara - "No, Ben. You can't die today." And I was thinking, so tomorrow, then? I'd definitely be good with that.

I howled at the sound effect they used for the needle supposedly going into Ben's heart. It's like they found the sound effect from some old cartoon of someone stepping on a tomato.

The shortest (and most easygoing) death row stint in history is over, as is the longest execution in history. Maybe now the writers can turn to other things, like having the truth about the baby swap come out. When Sarah learns her baby was killed by her own mother, it will be epic! Although I suppose there will likely be an annoyingly prolonged custody battle between Sarah and Kristen/Brady...

I thought Ben was going to have a major vomit session/spew from the drugs in his system - all over poor Ciara.

Holding the dude at gunpoint to get a confession was a bit much. Yes, it saved her beloved but all criminals have rights too. The execution was just plain stupid.

I do understand Marlena's tears a bit - this was a man who suffered great abuse as a child, was probably tortured by his father, had significant mental health problems, did kill three people mainly because of them, sought help for his mental health issues while serving his time in jail, takes medication daily, and has become a changed man for the most part. Maybe his little visit to the execution chamber may further change him, maybe leave him a bit more broken, maybe see how he screwed up. Or not.

Nicole, you can put two and two together and see that Xander is up to no good. Eventually you will figure it out and have another secret. Baby and transplant doctor, run while you can.

So, where is Baby David? With Jordan, who like most Salemites, sort of, but only dies out of convenience and wakes up and goes to another city? Evan/Christian, you were trying to Houdini yourself out of the handcuffs.

Isn't it a bit early in the bone marrow transplant to see that it has worked?

Nicely put. I've always liked Ben. He killed 4 people (originally).  That can't be forgotten or easily forgiven.  However unlike most of Salem he has shown remorse, received help and has continued to be committed to being a better person.  He also does not play the hypocrite role like so many people in this town.  Kristen, Kate, Nicole, Sami, Abigail, probably Julie (didn't realize it was mostly women) have done some horrible things but most of them act like they never had a devious past.

So a person can walk just into a max prison without being on an approved visit list and waving a gun around and not be taken out by any of the tons of guards at entry and some on towers with rifles and sniper scopes? All with the mere threat of shooting this nobody who’s on an APB & Amber Alert for stealing a police officers child? They’d either snuff Ciara or laugh like “go ahead then and shoot this piece of shit.” 

A confession coerced at gun point would never hold up in court. Especially demanded under duress from a random citizen. 

Nicole looked like she was ready for a mojito on South Beach not to hang out in a hospital waiting room. 

My work schedule/situation changed so now I catch it live in a break room and there’s non Americans there and they don’t judge but it comes across like I’m watching a kids show w the plot logic and dialogue that’s skewed rated R. I used to and like to watch at the gym. 

I’m not a CIN fan but throwing that aside, I don’t like the constant lines they each chant that they can’t live without each other, Ciara repeating there’s reason for living without Ben, them both saying nothing matters but each other, they are incapable of existing or being happy if not w each other. 

Does anyone ponder if the 3rd baby born that night is the one who actually died? I could see some possibly some fucked up game that the 3 babies were mixed up or swapped as gotcha moment or story telling “gold” twist that the 3rd fam has Rachel or Mickey.

Back from a little vacation and Days drought, I'm a little overwhelmed by posts and episodes. I decided not to catch up, and just dove in this week on Tuesday, so most of it for me was about Ciara and Ben. Despite my feelings of ick about CIN, I thought Ciara did a nice job with her scenes, and it was the most I've liked the actress ever, I think. I could finally see a little of the old Ciara in her. (Though I also hate her manicure, lol.) 

BUT -- were they trying to make Ben look like the Savior himself on a cross? Are executions always so brutally drawn out? I think not, show. 

I won't ask too many questions, but do WE know where little David is? 

P.S. No soap star runins during my travels this time, although I did have a lovely conversation with Bill Mumy (Will Robinson!) about our granddaughters 🙂
