Good show today. It was good to see JJ outfox Jack. Jack wasn’t around when JJ first hit town. Casey Moss has been on the show for 6 years and it was good he got to play bad boy but helping his Mom. Remember when he was hell on wheels when he first started. Such a long time ago. Claire is off the chain crazy. She lies to everyone. I don’t know how she keeps her story straight. I don’t know how they get pass her setting the fire on purpose which almost killed her “bff” and cousin. Of course, Ciera is dating a triple murderer who now being redeem into a soap hero. So I guess anything is possible.

JJ/Jack had scenes together during JJ's suicidal episode via flashbacks but yeah this is the first time in RT he was shown as bad. Sadly it won't last.

As for Claire sure she could come back normal and all but

1) it would be a waste when she's a lot more interesting this way

2) the show doesn't care enough about Claire to redeem her.

3) I don't think Days will be around if they do change their mind about the character at the rate the show is going.

Aren’t they good for another year or two? Of course, that ain’t much but it’s still lots of time for more storytelling.

Fall of 2020 and considering they're already filming January episodes for next year it will be here before you know it.

Also liked yesterday's episode! Love seeing JJ have something meaty to do - -I hope they keep Casey Moss around, there's so much to mine there with such a good actor. Yeah, the "little tiny woman" thing irked me, too, but I'm a sucker for a guy sticking up for his mom in any case.

I thought it was weird that Marlena recognized the notes that Ben heard in his head, lol, but I missed that Ben hummed the tune out loud. Still weird, but as someone said above, I'll take it if it moves this story along.

Rory is cute and interesting.  I wonder i there is more to him then just smoking pot.

Ciaras no reaction to Ben threatening Rory was kind of interesting.

Wonder why Claire’s first choice is fire.  The fire in the cabin, the burning Tripp’s clothes and now another cabin fire.  It makes me sad this is Belle and Shaun’s daughter.  I knows it’s unpopular but I love them together or separately but mostly together.

Poor Will.  Poor Marlena having to make that phone call to her daughter.  Maybe Sami. maybe  she will bring her other children and they can say goodbye to their brother. I will stock up on tissues.

Ben the serial killer is scum and Ciara his lapdog is even worst. How could she be with a man who bragged about being a serial killer while making threats. Ciara is clingy and loathsome. I can't stand to see her and her crazy boyfriend together. Ciara reminds me of Gabi when she was with Nick. I hope Ben ends up like Nick with Ciara killing him one day.

I still feel bad for Claire despite her heinous crimes. This is all being done to prop Ben, Cin and Hayley. Olivia was just mesmerizing today and she sold that monologue beautifully. Claire's insanity and paranoia is just so heartbreaking to me.  I wish Sami, Jarlena and Shelle were woven into this story. Sami saving Claire from herself could have been a great nod to Sami's complicated history with Jarlena. Not to mention, Sami and Belle said some harsh words to each other when Marlena almost died.

Yeah, that was not a good plan to have Ben play the crazy strangler card if he is really trying to make us forget. I know he was just doing what he had to do to get info on Claire, but still, that he went there was poor, lazy writing.

I think the actor is capable of more but I don't think the show see Rory as anything more than a druggie f-up. I would've kept Rory/Claire and made them a couple.

Also Ciara telling Eve of all people she's being hard on Ben was something else I wanted Eve to rip off all of Ciara's pretty hair and choke her to death with it.

Paraphrasing here but that Ciara actually said to Eve 'why are you so awful to Ben?'!!!! Maybe bitca because your serial killer boyfriend KILLED HER DAUGHTER. My God! If Ciara wants to forget all about Ben's serial killer past and pretend that "he's changed" is all it takes to forgive, that's her business but the fact that she basically demands others forget his disgusting deeds just because "he's changed" and acts like the people he's hurt should just get over it is maddening and enraging beyond belief. How the hell does the show expect anyone beyond the Cin fanbase to root for this crap?

It's even worse when you have Ben constantly relying on said past to actually physically threaten people. If he was really remorseful for what he did he would never resort to that no matter how stressed he was.

I know they're "legacy" kids but Ciara and Claire suck in very different ways. I think Claire trying to kill her own aunt is despicable, but when I look at said aunt I can't help but hope someone does knock her out repeatedly. I guess it's an unpopular opinion but I still can't muster up any sympathy for Claire, crazy or not. The actress is doing a good job for the most part, but I still can't forget the privileged life that Claire has lived and I don't think her actions should be excused just because she's insecure and has issues. And for all the talk about Claire being thrown under the bus for Ben and/or Hayley, they've had scene after scene where they show Claire in a sympathetic light with Eve and with Ciara and yesterday with Marlena and even Ben was taking her side after Tripp broke up with her. People keep excusing her shitty behavior because she's insecure. Claire knows she has issues and refuses to really look inward or even really attempt to get serious help.

I think Tripp was being far too generous but I'm glad they gave us a scene with him again trying to explain why he feels so determined to help Hayley and explaining why he understands Claire's darkness because he's been there, too.

Great scenes with Will/Marlena. Very interesting turn of events with Sonny/Eve. Wonder how that will turn out maybe the show will actually remember Sonny and Jack are related (and Sonny is even named after him.) Not that Jack gives a shit about family right now, but still.

Were were supposed to think Sonny was legitimately intimidating when he threatened Eve?  It just made him look pathetic, and Eve should have slapped the taste out of his mouth.

AND STOP WEARING SUITS!

It wasn't great, but anything that makes this version of Eve miserable and causes her as much pain as possible, I'm here for. It's a shame, because Kassie DePaiva seems sweet. But I just cannot whatsoever with this version of Eve.

I think anyone can suffer from mental issues doesn’t matter what your back ground.   However I don’t think what Claire is doing is right in her mind she thinks she is justified.  Then there is a part of her that knows she is wrong and should talk to someone. Although I knew it would not happen I was so hoping she would talk to Marlena.

What did Rory think Ben was going to do when he found Claire ?

Oh, I don't give a fig about Eve, I just thought that moment made Sonny look very silly, which I don't think was the point.

I hated that.  If you feel super super sorries for your serial killing, you don't get to then trade on your reputation in this way.  Franco does the same thing on "General Hospital" and I loathe it.

Ben really didn't need to threaten harmless Rory. He could have said that he feels that Tripp's life is in danger and he has some suspicions of Claire having some mental health issues or something like that. However Claire just seems to feel justified in her actions - not really doing something because the opportunity presented itself - her torching the Horton cabin was pre-meditated. She needs to chat with Grandma or her parents and maybe get some psych help before she hurts someone - more than she is hurting herself.

Good for Eli for dumping Lani. She has more interest in Jordan's baby David than him. And no, Lani, you are using Jordan's baby as a replacement for your own. Sign up for some prolonged grief counselling from Marlena or other specialist. And go back to your job now that Rafe is healed. He does not require your presence, even if you just want to wean the baby from you. Babies are resilient.

At least Sonny gets some scenes with Eve. She really can't go all Arrow or vigilante-like in her new position. The city can and will get sued if she behaves like this. And setting Ben Weston up will fall through the cracks.

So Carrie and Sami have been called about Will.

WTF, Show?  I'm beyond sick of Ollie and his sidekick.  Him threatening Rory directly after him glowering at him and intimating that he'd hurt him was disgusting.  Show keeps wanting to have it both ways with this dickhead of a character - with Ciara polishing his halo while Ben physically roughs up Gabi and uses his serial killer reputation to bully and scare people into getting his way.

Her going after Eve and Ben going after Rory - WTF, Show?  You want us to root for these horrors?

Show just mostly pissed me off today.

I did appreciate the scenes Will shared with Marlena and I'm enjoying Freddie Smith more than I have in ages.  Plus, he's looking pretty good these days.

But Ben and Ciara?  FOAD.

I kind of had to chuckle during Ben's threatening of Rory because of course the show thinks it can get away with it.  And who knows, maybe they can?  I guess they think it's funny that Ben's using his past to scare the beejeepers out of a weed dealer just because he might know where someone is going.

I would have LOVED it if Rory had told him that he knows his history of killing women so he won't share where Claire went.

Then Ciara almost looks amused when Rory tells her what Ben did.  At least Claire's being portrayed as a honest psycho. I have no idea what they're doing with a character who could have otherwise been a good heroine had they not turned into a serial killer's cheerleader without any nuance.

Moving back to Rory, why would he have passports for Hayley and Tripp with their actual real names on them?  Isn't the point that they're trying to sneak out of the country?

Speaking of Canada, doesn't Hayley realize she'll be undocumented there too?

They were passports with fake names but they had their real PICTURES - Claire, of course, recognized the pictures.

Yes, move from one country being undocumented to a different one - also undocumented.  Big improvement.

How is it people are ALWAYS getting trapped on Smith Island because there are no ferries but Claire managed to basically teleport on a special "express" ferry (wouldn't all the ferries be express - where exactly would a ferry that goes to exactly one island stop?)

So many good posts here. My overall recollection from yesterday's episode is how great Sonny looks -- you can take off that sportscoat  and wear age-appropriate clothing now, Sonny!

Ciara having the  balls to ask Eve what she's so upset about with regard to Ben -- that's excruciatingly tone deaf and just plain wrong. The Ciara I used to know and love would never be that dense -- this is the girl that swindled Sami out of diamond earrings as a pre-teen.

Claire - if you destroy the Horton Cabin, I just don't know what's in store for you back in town, lol.

Yes, you can really tell he lost weight and he looks much better for it. Seeing as how he's not working, they should just put him in some flattering sweaters, something that makes him look like a normal person. If they could do that and lose the hair gel I think his appeal would go up considerably.

How is it people are ALWAYS getting trapped on Smith Island because there are no ferries

Here's another question for you - how is it the authorities didn't think to look at the one piece of property the Horton's own that could potentially be used as a hiding place? Everybody in Salem knows about Smith Island and the famous Horton cabin. If the authorities were trying to find someone from that family who is hiding, wouldn't that be the first place they'd look?

Yeah I know the show is on a tight budget but find it hard to believe Show can’t scrounge up a hundred bucks or so and pick up a few t shirts, tops or jeans from H&M or Urban Outfitters for Sonny. Or let the actors incorporate a few of their own items. I know a lot of the women already wear their own personal jewelry on the show like KA/Hope and AS/Sami.

Ciara is DELUSIONAL. Her entitlement and self absorption is getting out of control. Yes how offensive and outlandish that Eve is mad at her daughters murderer still. Being upset at someone who killed your only child is so petty of Eve.

I also really got pissed off at how Ben harassed and threatened Rory, a practically innocent doofus entangled into this fuckshit by his kindly nature, and traded on his kill spree to scare him for speaking to Claire. You can’t use your killing and abuse as a for bragging rights and a commodity and still whine daily how terrible it is people, like, remember it.  Can’t have it both ways, MF.  Also each time he does that (and this is the 3rd since his “redemption”) it negates all the “I’m sowwwry” and “poor me living in the stigma of my crimes”

If they'd looked at Hide Out Motel first they wouldn't have even had to spring for the ferry ride.  But since they missed our elusive runaways you are correct.  In fact those should be the two places they check first no matter who is hiding out.  Third should be the cabin that has now been lit on fire twice but I would be willing to bet still has a bed with clean sheets in it.

How long has Smith Island been apart of Days? Who is the Smith named after? Was it around in the 80's & 90's or it just recently in the 2000's? Is the Smith Island cabin near the cabin where Ciera was held and almost burt alive? I know it's been used for a few years at least but I don't recall when it first started.

I know for a fact that it was around when Kristen first debuted as a good girl social worker who wanted to help kids. She and John had their first love scene in the cabin, so it dates back to the late 80s or early 90s.

Yeah John and Marlena got separate spots on the list and they're a couple with way more longevity (and I don't even like them). Course I think John really shouldn't be on that list but I digress.

They're ranked above Alice of all people there's also no Tom, Hope, Doug, Julie. Doug/Julie are the only couple that should "share" a spot on this list they were the OG Supercouple and got the cover of Time Magazine...

If you have to put a best character with their on screen love interest in order to make the list, you're doing the list wrong.

Of course, I personally think there are glaring omissions.

I also somewhat take issue with someone like Stefano.  He was a long time villain for the sure but I guess I don't remember the nuance.
