He said he was going to talk to Janelle the next day. We know the land was paid off in 2023. So the editing is all over the place That drove me nuts — as if the timeline wasn't wonky enough. I think Kody's friendship with production has affected the producers' judgment. Generally speaking, the talking/head couch segments (I never know what to call them) are filmed closer to when the new season airs. In other words, while the live-action stuff might be from two years ago, the cast does the couch segment commentaries, not too far in advance of a new season's release. In the couch segments, the cast is instructed to speak of events as if they're still current/recent (and production does things like put fake pregnancy bellies on women, if they were pregnant in the live-action shoots, but have since given birth) to maintain the fantasy that the couch segments were filmed in real time. I think it's a stupid conceit, but it's long been the way with this show. However, Kody talked about his 55th birthday in a self-shot video. Since the dawn of Covid, those self-shot videos have been treated the same as the live-action shoots, but as @mythoughtis points out, this one would have been filmed in January 2024, but the live-action stuff is from 2023. That just mucks up everything. I think production is trying to humanize him, but it's making the narrative worse than it already was. EDITED: Apparently Kody was born in 1968, not 1969. See here and and here. Thanks @spacefly and @ginger90. Edited Monday at 03:13 PM by General Days 9 Link to comment
laurakaye Monday at 01:52 PM Share Monday at 01:52 PM This show is just background noise for me in the morning now while having my coffee and playing Candy Crush (no way am I staying up until 10pm, lol). I am happy that Christine has found her man, etc., etc. I assume this show has nothing else to give the viewers, but enough with Christine and David already. And I agree, the timeline is so messy that nothing these people say makes any sense, especially the blather that comes out of Kody's mouth. Having lunch with Janelle (2023?), he asks why they can't give their love another try, and asks why on earth she would want to lawyer up regarding the land. Then on the couch ('24?), he tells us that Janelle likes to play the victim and if she builds on Coyote Pass, that would give he and Robyn an excuse to move because who wants to live near their ex-wife? So even between scenes, Kody is constantly contradicting himself, and none of it makes any sense. The only thing I am looking forward to next week is the conversation between Meri and Janelle. If we could get the OG3 talking to each other about their shared experiences married to a raging egomaniac, I am here for that. But the jumping timelines and wedding prep is both boring and confusing. Sigh...even this thread is super quiet. :( 21 1 Link to comment

And what's sad about that is, production shows the Browns the scenes they want them to comment on, just before the couch segment. So Kody had a reminder of what he said. The whole "have an excuse to move away" thing was weird, too. By that point in time, would he even need an excuse?! 22 minutes ago, laurakaye said: The only thing I am looking forward to next week is the conversation between Meri and Janelle. If I were the producer, my terms for continuing the show (i.e. the Browns' paychecks) would be that at least some mix of the parents would be required to do some couch segments together, and they would have to get together to talk about unraveling the marriages, etc. 14 minutes ago, 65mickey said: Like you I slept through the entire show. smarty Monday at 03:13 PM Share Monday at 03:13 PM It was absolutely frustrating how Kody refused to talk with Janelle about financial stuff. As Janelle pointed out, it was mid February and the Coyote Pass property had to be paid off by June which was 3 months away. She had every right to know what Kody intended to do in regards to paying them off! Coyote Pass is/was the only thing Janelle was taking from the marriage. Kody obviously wasn't giving her alimony or child support. He is such a jerk that he doesn't feel like he owes her one single dollar in the divorce? 15 Link to comment

All his playing everyone against each other with poor widdle Kody in the middle is as stale as the hair gel on his head. He treated his kids like dirt because he was angry at their mothers. He punished his kids if they didn't revere him like Robyn's brainwashed kids did. He has stated outright that he never loved Meri, Janelle or Christine. And yet - he expects his exes to be the catalyst to getting those kids to love him again because he used to be such a great dad. It's all BS. WhatAmIWatching Monday at 04:40 PM Share Monday at 04:40 PM Kody is such a ***! I was shocked he said that the only reason he considered getting back with Jenelle was so he could be back in with the kids. He's so bitter and nasty and his words are so cruel. The editors were great for showing his talking head, where he blathered that both he and Jenelle had been talking about rekindling, then it cuts to Jenelle's where she says Nope, not happening! 😂 I appreciate her speaking up more and laying it all out instead of the placating or silence that she used to do. Robyn sat there and lied (again) when she claimed she didn't tattle to Kody about Jenelle. She did NOT tell him that she agreed with J (about keeping the house expenditure on the less expensive side) she went and cried and said J was being mean. Why else would Kody have been mad and gone off on J? He wouldn't have done that if R and J had agreed. i really appreciate whoever is shooting the scenic B-roll. And did I hear him mumble something like, "I don't have anything bad to say about Meri?" He has saved his worst vitriol for Meri and now he's cool with her? BUT. Every time Kody "I got kicked out of my own club and by the way does anyone have a spare kidney" Brown opens his mouth to tell us just how much he doesn't care about Christine (a lie), how much he's NEVER cared about Christine (also probably a lie), how completely unattracted he is to her (except for the 6 times he put a baby in her), and how he wanted her to go find her soulmate the day after she left him (absolutely, definitely a lie)... I'm wondering this because I had a mormon friend tell me once that one of the reasons they get married so quick is because they want to have sex. C & D may be in such a hurry to get hitched because they're horny as hell, but want to wait until marriage. So maybe that's why she's so hung-up on making out with him, because that's all they're doing until the wedding night? I don't know, but both the obsession over PDA's, and the speed at which this is moving, is weird as hell. Especially considering how her kids feel about it. They aren't being unreasonable at all. Since I know that reality tv is anything but, watching old events isn’t a problem for me. It’s new to me, even if it happened months ago. Movies, series, fiction, etc, are aired years later too, so I don’t mind that much. It sometimes helps gain perspective on what transpired later on. Sometimes, we know what’s coming and the feeling is ominous. I also don’t mind Christine and David’s PDA! Lol. I get it. For me, just because you’re older, your proclivities don’t change. You feel the same on the inside as when you were much younger. I say celebrate those hormones! The older I get, the more I say s*#w the rules. 🤣I have used discretion when being around my boyfriend and boyfriend’s 20 year old daughter, but that’s just me. He was much more relaxed about it. I’m starting to lighten up. I wonder if things with K and R have improved since these episodes were filmed. If not, it seems bleak. I wonder if his renewed commitment to God has helped. I know she’s in love and obviously has never felt this intense love with anyone before but omg calm down! It’s making me cringe. I never liked Christine much, but she often gets a pass because of the crap that comes out of Kody's mouth. Christine parentified her kids years ago, and she continues to treat them as friends/equals by making out with her new boyfriend in front of them. She doesn't even care that Ysabel is uncomfortable. I would never be interested in any Christine/David or Christine/Janelle spinoff series. Kody sounded like a huge ass in his talking heads during his meeting with Janelle. He basically admitted he is just playing/manipulating everyone, and is using asking to reconcile with Janelle as part of that. Then he wonders why his kids don't speak to him. I don't see how we have a storyline past this season, unless they go into the issues between Christine and Kody. Which isn't likely. Half the show has become Christine and David, and I just fast-forward through it. 8 Link to comment

I seem to recall Kody mentioning that last season (and he wasn't crazy about the idea of Truely living with an unmarried couple). Also, it seems to me Christine posted some pictures of love notes she and David left each other on their bathroom mirror — and this was before they got married. So, I think it's likely they were intimate before marriage. Lots of people don't live up to their religion's standards on all kinds of things, but especially sex. If it didn't happen on camera, Kody will say it never happened. Sometimes even if it did happen on camera he will say it didn't. Like the conversation with Gabe that we saw that he claimed never happened. I don't believe for a minute Christine and David waited until marriage to get to it. They were both horny as could be and poor Truely was so uncomfortable. Particularly when Tony had to bring up sex. Tony is such a clod. I also could have done without Paedon mocking his grandfather's age related disability. Dude, you might be there where it takes you 10 minutes to get out of a chair someday. I agree with what has been said about the Kody and Janelle discussion. I loved that she just laid it on the line while he is blathering in the talking heads about how they keep talking about reconciling. He looked so delusional there. I was very concerned at the level of rage he seems to have toward Maddie. Where is that coming from? The lunch was several months after Logan's wedding where he found out she was pregnant and hadn't told him. I liked that Janelle told him to go work it out himself that she wasn't going to get in the middle of it. Dude, she isn't Robyn. She isn't going to force her kids to love you when you have acted like this. Because I'm nosy, I do wonder what went on between Maddie and Kody that caused her to go no contact. Finally, I liked how Meri reacted to the renovation of the carriage house. Kody has always tried to portray her as mean and ungrateful, and she wasn't that way at all. I liked what she said about making her own table rather than chasing after people who don't want her. Good for her. 11 Link to comment
precious pupp Wednesday at 06:01 PM Share Wednesday at 06:01 PM Paedon is going to be damned lucky to go through life without some disability. And what was that about, calling David "Richard?" Was that an old people joke that I (old lady) didn't get? He's a lot like his sperm donor, IMO. Not good. 5 Link to comment

Good for her. I think that neither Meri or Christine were cut out for polygamy, despite how they were raised. Meri reacted to an additional wife (who was also her brother's ex) with jealousy and controlling/manipulative behavior. Christine reacted by trying to get more of her husband's time and mostly rejecting Robyn from the start. In different environments, they both behave very differently. I'm glad we are seeing a different side of Meri. Polygamy assumes that someone can get past the jealousy of having to share a spouse (especially when the sharing isn't even equal). Not everyone can do that. Janelle seems cut out for polygamy though, because she seems to love time to herself and the ability to make all her own decisions. I think all 3 ex-wives are happier and better off without Kody. 8 Link to comment

Age related illnesses and accidents are things that many of us have to live with. Lucky are the people who are in great shape when they are elderly. Added: someone posted that David has a disability, and if true, ageism and making fun of those things is not good. Edited Wednesday at 09:58 PM by precious pupp added Link to comment
