FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Paul was another one who actually deserved an apology for being cancelled. Because yeah, an ADULT THEATER, what do you expect?!

Dammit dammit dammit I respect him not going public with his cancer*** but this was such a kick to the gut. Goodbye Pee Wee.

I grew up with PeeWee's Playhouse and PeeWee's Big Adventure. Last I saw Paul was as Oswald/Penguin's dad on Gotham. While the show was bonkers much of the time and hard to stick with, he was absolutely perfectly cast in that role, and as the father of Robin Lord Taylor.

A big piece of my childhood just died. F cancer.

Yeah, Pee Wee's Big Adventure was one of those movies that when it first came out you thought was gonna be bad in a low budget 'how did this get made?' way,  but turned out to be really quite good, both from a storyline and writing perspective.

I'm not really familiar with his work, although I've seen him a few times; he was so prolific. I just edited his Wikipedia article to replace 2 present perfect verbs with the past perfect form. Past Perfect Form seems fitting symbolically as well.

He was really funny in that episode! I was too young for Peewee, so I mainly associate him with Mystery Men

This was one of the first roles I saw him in other than as Pee Wee.  Totally agree, his role as Russell was pitch perfect.

I still think of Paul Rubens in the 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.  He stole every scene he was in, especially with that death scene.

Goes without saying, but: fuck cancer!

Much preferred thst version to when they later remade him as a pathetic loser "Peter" played by Chris Elliot.  Russell was an opinionated snob, like Jack Black in High Fidelity, much closer to comic store guys in real life.

Reuben was also great on Murphy Brown as one of her many secretaries.

I completely forgot this!  Agreed,  most of the secretaries were great but he upped it up a level.

He also had a memorable role in Blow.  Even though Pee Wee was the most known role I think his eclectic film and TV credits afterwards did successfully help him avoid the typecast curse, which for a icon like Pee Wee was a tall order.  Ice cream soup is on the menu tonight!

Paul Rubens was on "Face Off" (reality show contestants doing movie make-up). He was judging the looks on one he said "I love it" then he got an impish look on his face and said "but I don't want to marry it!" It was so adorable!

I used to love watching Pee Wee's Playhouse.

Same. I watched that show all the time as a kid (which I feel explains a lot about some of my taste in the stuff I like now, along with my strange sense of humor :p). Also did the voice of one of the little kids in Nightmare Before Christmas, so yeah, big part of my childhood gone today :(.

Another death in as many days that actually made me gasp when I saw the headline. Damn, that sucks. May he rest in peace.

Hmm, I seem to be the outlier here in that I have not seen Paul Reubens outside of a few guest appearances long ago, and found Pee Wee Herman incredibly off-putting so never watched him as the character, so all I associate him with is the porno theater arrest (don't really care) and the possession of child porn charges that got dropped in a plea (very much care, but the facts are so muddled in that case I'm not sure what to think -- sounds like a couple of pictures in a magazine that was part of his vast vintage erotica collection were of minors, but he didn't go specifically looking for minors?).

Oh, yeah -- now that I'm reminded of it, I saw that "Heard any good jokes lately?" moment at the time and cracked up (even though "So funny I forgot to laugh" always drove me nuts).

I did not watch Euphoria, and didn't know who Cloud was, but 25 is way too damn young. My heart breaks for his family, burying one relative and then another so soon.

I watched Euphoria, though I have issues with the content, but Cloud was an outstanding actor and really made the character he played.  He was probably my favorite character on the show.  His death is very tragic and sad.

I guess a third one is coming soon, isn’t it? Buckle up, guys…

The question is, what will be the CoD?  "Crash," "Vomit," or just plain "Old Age"?

Going by the statement his family put out it sounds like it was mostly likely suicide.

Often there are multiple factors that can take time to sort, and sometimes it’s never entirely clear, especially if medications/chemical substances were involved.

Leah Remini sues Church of Scientology, says she's been threatened and subjected to 'psychological torture'

Actor Leah Remini filed a lawsuit against the Church of Scientology and its leader, David Miscavige, alleging that she has been threatened, harassed and stalked for the past decade.

The "King of Queens" star says she has been the victim of "intentional malicious and fraudulent rumors via hundreds of Scientology-controlled and -coordinated social media accounts that exist solely to intimidate and spread misinformation," according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

I knew him from Elementary where he played the owner of a business of cryogenics who ran out of room, Elias's father in Person of Interest, and three characters on Law & Order the guy who shot Ceretta in Prince of Darkness, the first hit man in Legecy episode where the mother hires him to kill her former daughter-in-law's husband because she's convinced he killed her son, and Threads from For Love or Money.

He's also the hitman in Scarface who pisses off Tony in New York. I think that was the first thing I ever watched him in.

Yes, that’s what I always assumed he was most well known for. Classic scene!

Actor Sharon Farrell who played Florence "Flo" Webster on The Young and the Restless and appeared in such films as Marlowe, It's Alive, and The Stunt Man has died, age 82.

I didn't recognize the name, but as soon as I saw her picture I recognized her as the mom in the '80s teen flick Can't Buy Me Love (back when Patrick Dempsey was playing nerds who couldn't get a date).  I also remember her from the above-mentioned Marlowe, with James Garner, Rita Moreno, and Carrol O'Connor.

Yes! Thanks! ❤️

I replaced the one above.

Thanks for posting the original one, even though it didn't work -- it got me to right place in the end!

The French Connection and The Exorcist are still amazing films

That shot of Max Von Sydow, lit by the glow from the house, is one of the most iconic in film history.  It creeps me out whenever I see it.  And Jason Miller’s performance was his best, IMO.

Friedkin could really bring it out of his actors.  RIP.
