All three contestants held their buzzers the same way, hands covered by the podium, so I couldn't tell if Lois kept getting beat on the buzzer or just didn't know most of the correct responses (of the ten she did ring in on, she got four of them wrong).  I was rooting for her, because I really liked her hair.  (I'm quite shallow occasionally.)

The "asking for a friend" TS surprised me a little; maybe they were trying to think of a phrase associated with 2022 rather than thinking of the one that's been around a while.

I ran rhymes (that was fun), feed, and bring it (and finally decided what I'm going to do with the chicken breasts I defrosted for tonight's dinner -- make chicken kiev) and got all but one in happened.  I'm normally pretty good with colleges, but missed three this time.  I also missed three in fighters, which is par for the course.  So, not a great first round.

Not a great DJ round, either. I was terrible in doomsday books, which I expected; thank goodness Bird Box was made into a movie, or I'd have blown the entire category instead of missing all but one.  I got all but one in actors and clichés, but missed two each in everything else.  Didn't run a single category.

FJ was an instaguess I stuck with, so good for me.

I knew Joe Frazier, having gone through a fascination with boxing in the 1970's after the first Ali/Frazier fight. I also got Rubicon and Linda Evans. 

No clue about FJ until I did the math and came up with 1972. Here are some of the alternate choices for Godfather characters.

I can’t believe Sutherland did not get a BMS, especially considering Donald is (arguably) the more famous one.

Ray wasn't swaying. Ray was swiveling-but only while responding to clues. He reminded me of people I know who are on the spectrum.

Lloyd was swaying during all of his games, almost worse than Ray.

That one did not even begin to occur to me.  I've heard of it, but not a lot.

It's been reported more than once that Ray's swiveling was due to a spinal/leg issue.

I don't know why you keep saying that he didn't swivel during the intros when chessiegal and I both saw him do so, also are you ignoring his nerve damage? Because I don't think you should be throwing out that he might be on the spectrum when there is already a medical reason given for it?

I felt old for even remembering it - because it was Big Valley that got it for me, not Krystle Carrington (never watched that show).

Sergio Leone threw me off, even though I was fairly certain the spaghetti westerns were before '72. I also saw the movie with my family - though the only embarrassment I felt was when my big sister (in her late 20's) said "oops!" very loudly when the bucket spilled in the very tense (and almost silent) scene at the hospital.

I was surprised at that myself. Though I think by this time both Sutherlands are pretty close to same level of famous.

I ran TV (I may watch too much), almost ran Doomsday Book (would have if I'd gotten WW Z out of my mouth, I just had Z in my head). Did better than I expected in Rivers (which is to say, I got three, expecting none).

So it was a decent game, but sadly, no FJ.

I didn't say he was on the spectrum. I said he reminded me of people I know who are. And I watched him during intros & chats.

Yet another one to add to our list.  I really don't how the judges determine what should or shouldn't get a BMS anymore.  Edited to note that Huey Long should've been a BMS as well because his brother Earl had also been a larger than life Louisiana governor.

I had an okay but not great game.

Besides getting FJ, I got 4 stumpers: Mike Tyson, Joe Frazier (admittedly after Joe Louis had been eliminated as a answer), Rubican and Linda Evans.

I ran 3 categories (So That Happened, Bring it and TV: Who Played Em?) and got all but 1 clue correct in 3 more (Life of Riley, Doomsday Book and Many Rivers To Cross).  Huey Long was a guess, but I had a 50/50 chance and went the right way.

I got the missed clues of John Quincy Adams, Prince Edward Island, Clint Black, What's Love Got to Do With It, intact, and Wisconsin.

I got the entire categories of President and Native American right.

Pretty good night, would have been great if I got FJ.

I had to think about it, but I got FJ just in the nick of time.  I knew it was Mutiny on the Bounty, and I had to get past Mr. Christian.

I also got the TS of Prince Edward Island, What's Love Got to do With It?, Roberta Flack, and yellow dog.

Pretty good end to the week, I guess.

The "What's Love Got to Do With It?" TS surprised me and no one knowing Roberta Flack made me sad.

I almost ran the entire first round, but I didn't know what majuscule meant and missed one of the presidents (Wilson).

If it wasn't for the knight category, I'd have kicked ass in DJ, too.  I ran legally, workers, and syllable and got all but one in Native American and Grammys.  But I didn't know any of the knight clues and only correctly guessed one, Chaucer.

I did not come up with FJ, though, as "the dude from Mutiny on the Bounty" would not be accepted.

Maybe that wasn’t one of the interview options he listed. 

According to Google, a surgical consultant leads and supervises the team of surgeons and other medical professionals involved in a patient’s care. So, basically, the General Contractor for your physical remodeling job.

I ran Tooth and Legal, and got all but one in Grammys and Case. I got all the musical TSs (Roberta Flack, Clint Black, What’s Love Got to Do With It) and yellow dog. I did not get FJ. The husband did, and was quite proud of himself, but he missed Godfather yesterday and it’s his favorite movie, so…

All three contestants looked like deer in headlights for the first several minutes.

How middle woman acquired her pet lizard sounded highly illegal to me.

I got FJ by looking at the names of the places - I didn't know them but I thought they sounded right for that area. Cook didn't come into my mind, but then I know more about Bligh than Cook.

I've obviously been watching/reading too many crime/thrillers, because the first thing that came to my mind with the Samsonite question (not noticing that suitcase wasn't in the clue) was "body." 🤣

Got home late last night so just watched on the Tube of You. Ran The Whole Tooth and Letter Perfect, missed one Island and three in President Immediately Before (not surprised), and two each in the others. Didn't run anything in the second round; missed one in Record of the Year and Knights, three in Workers of the World and two in everything else. FJ was an instaget.

Got several TSes - Prince Edward Island (DD), U (in Faulkner), Wisconsin, What's Love Got to Do With It?, Roberta Flack (from the titles, not the picture), intact, and Lohengrin.

Vexillology is clearly not my strong suit; totally failed Whites & Colors. Other than that and missing three in Delegates, I didn't do too bad in the first round; ran Laundry Day, and missed one each in the rest.

Not a good DJ round…missed one Random Fact, two Buildings & Bridges and Phrases, and three each in the rest.

FJ was an instaget and my TSes were Downy and Spain (both lucky guesses; got Downy at the last second once I had processed that the clue was pointing toward a fabric softener).

Sorry to see Patrick go but I liked the new guy, too.

I got the missed clues of vampire, Mesopotamia, Thursday and Sleep.

I got the entire category of Mystery right.

I don't know where my head was because there were two clues I don't even think I understood the questions.

All 3 of 'em were actually wrong in FJ. The guy's name was Jack Daniel. The whiskey is Jack Daniel's, not Jack Daniels.  The "other" Tennessee Sippin' Whisky (George Dickel) is made in an adjacent, also dry, county.  One weekend, I toured both distilleries. What fun!

The Big Sleep as a TS surprised me a little, as did no one guessing Spain, but that was it.  Good game, because it was anyone's until Connor nailed that second DD in DJ.

I always know more about flags than I expect to, but less than I want to; I missed three of those.  I got everything else in the first round, though.

I got all but one in movies, facts, phrases, and buildings & bridges, but didn't run anything in DJ.  It was still a good round, as I only missed two each in mysteries and battles (a category I would not have been surprised to miss four or five in).

FJ was an instaget, and I'd have properly spelled it with the apostrophe, so I get an imaginary bonus point for that.

That one was at the end, wasn't it? And Connor had just missed one? I think they were afraid to answer and were all probably doing Math in their heads trying to figure out what the $400? would do to the scores? Like if Connor got it wrong and Patrick then got it right it would still be a lock game but a whole lot closer and maybe they just didn't trust their math. I know I wouldn't. If the clue had been earlier in the round someone would have taken the chance, maybe?

Yeah, the lizard-poach bothered me.  I did a quick search on the particular lizard and it is formidable looking.  It doesn’t appear to be your entry-level pet.

FJ: In my mind, I could see a black labeled bottle with the words Tennessee Whiskey, but I couldn’t see whose name was above that. I took a shot (not literally, although maybe I should have) and guessed Jim Beam. Oh, well. That’s what I get for drinking wine instead of liquor.

I got FJ, but I'm boggled by JD being Tennessee's largest employer. I would have thought that honor would belong to the TVA. God knows their administrative buildings are a whole lot larger.

The wording of the FJ confused me at first, but I figured it out.  The wording should have been Moore County Tennessee's largest employer, and not Tennessee in parenthesis - IMVHO.  It is the largest employer in Moore County, not the largest employer in Tennessee.

Yes, that was what was tripping me up as well -- but that left me with the confusing scenario where Moore County seemed to be the employer which didn't make sense since we needed to name Jack Daniels as the employer. (I honestly think it is easier to parse that type of sentence on a full page than in a narrow column -- the word wrap affects how we interpret the comma.)

I do that SO often. Sometimes it's a win - I got Celeste Ng once because I could picture the cover perfectly.

I didn't run anything, but I came near to running a number of them. And got something in almost all categories (except delegates).

I got the Triple Stumper of The Thursday Murder Club because I recently discovered the series and just borrowed the latest book.

Not a drinker, but i did come up with FJ. So all in all a good game.

I had a feeling the copy editor would win, he was quite the go getter and energetic.

I wondered about the lizard as well.

For me, as the Think Music was winding up I thought "Jack Daniel's" is better than nothing. 
Perhaps this was a clue were have a minimum of knowledge was better than "The Burden of Knowledge"?

I disagree with that.  If I had ever learned to diagram sentences, I could probably explain why.   But I do agree that the whole thing took way too many brain cells to parse out.
