I found out a long time ago, never get in the flu shot line with the doctor (I worked for the Army as a civilian for years, so they were often Colonels), because they only did shots for the flu shot clinic, and getting in the Colonel's shot line could be a painful mistake.   There was a reason that the Col./Dr.'s line was so short.

I'm very pale so my veins are deceptively visible. It once took three people four tries to get blood from me (the one that finally worked was with the little needle they use for kids...I was 27). The easiest blood draw I ever had was by a guy with several ear piercings, an eyebrow ring, I think a nose ring, and multiple visible tattoos. I can't help but think his obviously-extensive experience with needles was relevant.

Its funny back in the early 80s I was doing an internship for becoming a lab tech at a hospital. I had blue nails. One of the managers of one section told me I could not have that color of nail polish. Times have changed.

Perhaps that would only complicate things with all he has going on with scar tissue, hernia, etc.

I thought maybe since it goes down the esophagus it might work, but he does need to lose weight on his own.  He claims to have done it in the past so he should be able to repeat that even though it is harder as we get older.  He needs to more around and go back to LARPing or something.

Must we burn everything, sir? Can't we... tear the paper up and toss it? Take it to a rage room and smash it? What happens if a lightbulb goes out? Do we burn the house down?

Also, we're grown ups, we don't have to be up our spouse's ass all the time. She's ALWAYS freaking there. Go away woman.

Oh, he's going out on his own.  Good deal.

Don't take me wrong, I love cheap theatrics as much as the next girl, but theatrics are for showing them to others.  Not fo when you need to deal with your own emotions.  I don't believe that letter did anything for him, he took it as a homework assignment (word choice matters!) that the teacher asked for because the teacher wanted it and not as something he needs to *live* through and process for his own good.  I bet he approaches his diet the same way and that's why he will fail.
