Nevermind, I think you've already answered this.

I think it's both.  She misses him being the one taking care of things, both hiring and paying for it.

I suspect Dorinda will offload that house.  I would doubt her money situation is that great if she's crying over the cost of the renovations.  If she were super wealthy, the cost would not bother her.

I also think she knows in order to sell that house, she's got to sink a ton of money in addition to the repairs.  Unless some mega fan buys it, that house needs a lot of work to stage well.  I know people here love it, but it's tacky AF in my opinion.  The whole house, not just the fish room.

Hi Hoo! I think its actually a swimsuit cover up and she wore it as a dress (the entire day or at least until nap time 😁). One can only assume she kept the hat on because she was so "cold" in the "basement" 🥶.  I can't Lu!! 

As a side note, that was the nicest basement I've ever seen.  I like quiet and total darkness when I'm sleeping, not to mention a nice cool temperature, so please, give me all the lower levels. I was just so not impressed by her entitlement. Ugh.

I actually took a couple of screen shots of the bedrooms in Ramona's house. The color palette is very calming. I think I recall she furnished with a sponsorship from Wayfair.  I didn't love the weird dark hotel armoire in Leah's room. But her aesthetic is totally achievable with places like Homegoods and Homesense. I did notice however she had a lot of those round tables with a table skirt covering, a plate glass top, a lamp and objets d'art that were so popular in the 80s. That had to be production staging. Nobody really decorates with those anymore.

I am thinking that the hyper sensitivity Dorinda, and others, are showing in regards to Tinsley not being transparent on the show about her life, could be a residual effect of the Bethenny years. I think they may all be on guard and leery of each other as to who is getting what out of being on the show. For all of B’s “I’m a truth teller” bravado, she very carefully curated what she wanted shown and when. She was very calculating. Even her crazy, very worst behavior was a means to an end. I think the other housewives wearied of that and of B using them and the show for her personal gain. Now they are all side eyeing each other’s motives and actions. 
 

Or Dorinda, etal have chosen to amp up the mean girl to lock in the Bravo paycheck they all very much need.

Regarding the respectability of tattoos, a lot of military veterans have them. Are they trashy?

I liked Leah's hat, but it was wrong for the outfit. I wondered what she was hiding under it - dirty hair?

I prefer Luann's charming old Sag Harbor house to Ramona's impersonal masoleum.

But yes, she was actually rather charming.  I loved her the season Aviva called her and Ramona "white trash."   It seems to have gone down the rails the last two season where she seems to want to give off the Gray Gardens persona of the eccentric.

Renovations are exhausting, but if you got the dough, you don't cry over it.  She's acting like someone that's worried about her money running out.

The tag was a quite large and white, very visible, tacky.

I used to work for a dental consulting company, we had this crazy office manager (wife of the dentist, they always are), who was very vocal about her dislike of tattoos and equally verbal about not wanting to speak to those individuals...we tried to explain about customer service, professionalism, not passing judgement, their money is green too, all of the common sense aspects but she was not having it.  It was mind numbing to speak to her, she did not see that it affected her husbands income, basically her lifestyle would change greatly if she continued with this narrow mindedness and besides, who cares if they pay their bills.

Why Ramona would care about Leah's tattoos was puzzling but even more puzzling was why she had never heard of a tramp stamp.

I felt for Dorinda and her nightmare house problems. When I bought my current place, I thought all was good, and I ended up having to wait almost 4-months to move in because it ended up needing SO MUCH WORK. The contractors were calling me all day everyday with new problems, and more estimates and more money, and needing more money and needing more supplies. I was on the phone all day, I had to take a few weeks off work even because it was such a disaster. And the money is painful. I thought I was going to get sued a few times for telling off insurance adjusters and threatening to  have them fired and investigated. It was bad. I cried a lot. 

Touche means, "I couldn't have said it better myself." Or something like that. Ramona used it right.

Dorinda is kind of becoming the old cranky lady. Her "audiotorally" and Sonya's look was awesome. 

Dorinda has no intention on being nice to someone with tattoos. It's a line she isn't going to cross.

No question it does stink and I feel your pain.  

From what I remember of Blue Stone, it doesn't look like it's been updated lately other than the pool.  So there's probably a lot of stuff that needs to be worked on --- I don't just mean aesthetically.  I think there are a lot of people on the board that love BSM I suspect b/c it looks so unpretentious.  Just painting those rooms painted in odd colors is going to cost a lot!

I just think Dorinda's dough is running out.  She knows she can't keep BSM.  I suspect she'll be offloading it.  I suspect what we're really seeing is the pain she's is going through knowing she's can't maintain it and needs to sell it; she's trying to reconcile whether she can afford to keep something that is really a very expensive sentimental memory.

I feel like we're seeing the Sonja old townhouse thing.  She couldn't afford to maintain it, and to go through a sale, she'd have to spend a lot of money to update it -- or sell it  "as is."  Sonja finally has her townhouse on the market, but it doesn't look like she did much other than have it cleaned and staged.  I'm sure she could sell it for more if it was renovated.

If Dorinda was super wealthy, I'm sure it would still be hard to part with the money and still frustrating, but I don't think we'd be seeing how distraught she looks.  Of course if she was super wealthy, I also don't think she'd be with John for dry cleaning.

Does she have a general contractor?

This is an interesting and insightful point.  Just among her Bravo"lebrities," <eyeroll> there should be a number of people who can at least give her the names of some wonderful contractors, SOME OF WHOM would probably be happy to give her a great deal just for the exposure on the show. That, however, might open up some unpleasantness about the state of her finances and have her looking like Sonja Grey Gardens 2.0.

Oh, hello.  As I was sayin, Dorinda has changed big time for the worse.  Anyhow, I watched BH last nite.  Just my opinion of course, but N.Y. wives are so different, in a good way.  More real, less showing off, less competition with the makeup, clothes, etc.  We can identify with them more.

Watching season 7 also. Dorinda just got through the dinner from hell where she was arguing with Heather about saying the F word and Dorinda was so drunk that no one at the table knew what she ws attempting to say. In fact Kristin said that she had seen Dorinda drunk a time or 2 and when she was like that it was scary.  She has gotten like this in every season since then. Although I can't remember if she had one of these moments last season.

I just wanted to add that Dorinda and Blue Stone Manor are currently in Architectural Digest.  I am a BSM lover but some of her pieces are not my taste.  The Julie Heffernan Painting in the blue room is featured in the article and that’s a fine example of something I find disturbing.

I wish that we/they would talk about menopause more.  And not just as a convenient insult. It was a friggin nightmare for me-when hormones left the scene, my dopamine levels tanked - it was like having bad pms for seven years.  And the impact on skin and weight was a bummer. But I did come through it (w/out hormonal replacements) and life is good. Different, but good.  

And when I saw that the bloom was off the Morgan rose, my first thought was menopause.  It's sad that all of the Bravo old guard (literally) is likely going through it and no one talks about it; rather, they just amp up the "sexy" and it feels sad to me.

Here's my thing about tattoos.  Right now they are mainstream.  When the ladies on the show, and I, were young tattoos were not mainstream.  I think most people felt the places tattoos were done were dirty and there was a fear of getting a disease like hepatitis.  When I was a child, the only people I knew who had tattoos were men who had been in the army or the navy.

I had two friends who did not have their ears pierced, one said she didn't have it done because her father told her only "prostitutes and gypsies" had their ears pierced.  The other friend didn't have it done because her father thought only low class women had that done.  I think the main reason people felt that way was because ear piercing was usually done in someone's kitchen with a needle and a hot flame.  I had mine done in the early 70's in Macy's, when they started using the gun that would pierce your ear and insert a 14 carat gold earring in at the same time. 

I don't think it is right to look down on someone with tattoos, but I also don't think it's right to assume that just because someone doesn't like tattoos they are old and out of touch.

Dorinda wants her old life back, she wants to be carefree, so do most people, but everybody has to deal with what they've got.  Anyway, it still doesn't give Dorina the right to treat people like crap.

YES!  That is the word I was looking for!  That's the problem with getting implants when you're older.  As your middle "settles," those bosoms look like you've nursed 5 kids and you get the Aunt Bea look ....  Take them out, Ramona!

Right on.  Her Halloween stuff needs a house of its own.  Plus Christmas decorations, etc.  Some people just need their comfort stuff around them.  HerCity apartment is too small.
