This is another silly conflict. They can bring up their child honoring both religious traditions, the child can choose his religion when he's old enough.

Kids should learn about all religions, and if interested in any, choose when they are adults.

You two talk logic and common sense.  This is religion.   Bunyan’s training/indoctrination tells him the baby won’t go to heaven without being baptized, but the priest can’t baptism a baby whose mother is not Christian.    My mother used to fret because my sister converted to a religion where you weren’t baptized until you were 18, and she feared for the souls of the kids if they passed on before getting baptized.

As someone mentioned earlier, since he4 mother is RC, Ari was probably baptized at the bare minimum.   Maybe that would be good enough?

This is why I’m not religious. Suckling at a Christian breast? Never heard that one before. So what happens if you can’t breast feed and have to bottle feed? No baptism?

Consigned to hell, that's it. I remember the Mommy Wars from misc.kids on Usenet in the 90's. There were many breastfeeding advocates who probably held that view.

Hmmmmm, Areola isn’t technically Jewish since her mother is Catholic. Another loophole.

She's Jewish if she was raised Jewish. Ethnically and culturally the religion is passed down through the maternal line, but its not the only way to be Jewish. When I worked at the Jewish Federation there was a fellow who was active in the community with a very Irish last name. A convert. He was as Jewish as anyone.
