Hmmmm... sounds like Meghan is taking a jab at Ana. "Conservatives who go on tv and say they'll vote for liberals have Trump Derangement Sysndrome and might as well be liberals!" I'm glad Joy pushed back about the Washington Post reporter.

It might surprise Meghan to know that not all voters are in lock step with the candidate representing their party. It is possible to vote for a candidate who's policies you agree with even though they aren't part of your party.

It was a really ignorant thing to say, but it's Meghan so of course. Anybody in her party who'd rather vote for a liberal over Trump are abandoning their principles according to her and should leave her beloved party.

Abby and Meghan are millennials, but their experience is vastly different from the rest of us. Their last name helped them. so The ok boomer trend doesn't really affect them. Considering how everyone likes to bash on millenials and gen z, I don't see the problem with people saying "ok boomer."

I haven't watched the show yet, but the problem with "Ok Boomer"  is that it's used as a blanket statement to mean "You're old, so your opinion doesn't count."   I find it offensive.

Re: Monday's show. First, Whoopi's shameless self-promotion was over the top.

Second, for most of the show, i was sorta happy that they were spreading out the VYD segs without Sunny embarrassing herself by pretending to orgasm over every item. THEN came the final segment which dashed my hopes! I had softened my opinion about Greta after her serious interview about her cancer, but ... (while i still feel bad about her struggle) my heart has re-hardened.

Meghan, if you aren't prepared to talk about Max Boot, why are you?

Meghan actually pouted, didn't she, after she criticized the fact that Jennifer Rubin and Max Boot, when they go on tv, are "quoted" as Republicans, when they "might as well be liberals" like Joy, and then she said, "I'm sick of it because it makes my life harder!"  She actually thinks that not "abandoning conservative principles" is more important than anything else.

Kristen Bell and Jeff Goldblum are two of those people who are always exceptional talk show guests, no matter what show they're on.

I agree. "OK Boomer" is being dismissive.  Puts to mind how Meghan treats Joy a lot of the time.

As a millennial, the bashing gets pretty old. I don’t mind a joke here and there, but everyone makes us out to be the worst. The age group puts themselves through more higher education, is more socially aware, and didn’t grow up in the kind of economy making the kind of wages our patents did. It’s not a bunch of hypersensitive entitled brats.

I don’t like bashing any generation either, whether younger or older.

I can see that, but millenials get a lot of crap too. Participation awards (which weren't implemented by us) or tide pods (which were gen-zers). A lot of people blame millenials for random things and not knowing enough. I guess some (along with gen-z) just got annoyed and started the hashtag as a pushback.

People shouldn't be bashing any generation, but the topic about resumes on today's show wasn't even that much of a bash. The job market has changed and companies don't want paper resumes. Just because you're applying online doesn't mean you're not knocking on doors or trying to gr8 yourself out there.

Their quality of guests has declined a lot over the past few years. Every once in awhile they will get an A lister but not like they used to. They don't even get a lot of stars from the ABC shows. Maybe it's because Barbara is no longer there but View is no longer a part of the routine press tour stars do to promote their projects.

Was The View always under the news division like it is now?  maybe that could be a reason too.

I havent seen the ep yet, but that was well put @RealHousewife,  Im the last of the Boomer years (known as the greatest generation)(i jest, that was WWII) anyway i think it was GenX that came next.  When do you think that attitude changed RH?  I dont remember it always being that way.  Unfortunately i think the word itself has become like a catchphrase.  Just say it and watch the looks it invokes.  Which brings up another question.  You know how the dictionary people every year will add a list of new words...was millennial already in the dictionary, and if not was it added?  What year does millennia end.  I think its another GenSomething coming up.  Where do they come up with the names?  Its like naming hurricanes..alright going to go watch now.  Sorry for my major digression.  I could have gone on and on lol.  Looks like i need to do some research.  I can tell you, RH, that the next time the sitch presents, i will think twice.  Which i think was ultimately your msg.  Just be cool people!

Millennial here as well and I agree. We shouldn’t be stereotyped and neither should older generations. It’s annoying all around and gets us nowhere. I don’t want to go too off-topic, but Bill Maher is notorious when it comes to Millennial bashing. As you said I can take the jokes, but after awhile it gets old. We’re not all crybabies who want to cancel everything and everyone who offend us.

Isn’t Megun supposed to be a ‘pundit”?  Shouldn’t she be informed about all things political, not just on the things that someone’s written for her.

Hmmm, she calls herself a political analyst.  She is a "wanna be political analyst".

She truly, truly believes that people look to her for political expertise!

Or vote for someone whose policies don’t fully align with theirs when their other option is someone who seriously damages the country.  So many moderate and “old time” republicans have decided that saving the country and democracy is more important than party.  Who’d have thought? I also thought whoopie was right in target in her defense of boomers “not holding up their promises to the next generation” idea.  Not sure what mm thinks the boomers didn’t do, but they accomplished quite a bit.  I do like Kristen bell and Jeff goldblum (though he’s a bit eccentric!).

1981-1996 are millenials, which means that the oldest ones are nearing their 40s. Gen Z are the group that comes after. (1997-2012)

I thought of Ana as well. Meghan has often asked Ana whether she [Ana] really considers herself a Republican.

It seems to shock Meghan that people will consider themselves Republican/conservative without asking her permission or passing her purity tests. Which is  . . . interesting considering that both Meghan and her father have been called RINOs for working across the aisle.. I believe that part of Meghan's Hero Story was her advocacy for LGBTQ rights while most of the Republican party was pushing for a "marriage amendment." Apparently, Meghan is the only Republican allowed to have differing thoughts.

Larger companies don't even read them.  They have Applicant Tracking Systems that "reads" a resume's content into categories and then scans it for specific keywords to determine if the job application should be passed along to the recruiter.

I like Abby. She's not like Joy or Meghan,   she's softer. She wasnt soft when DTJ was on. I think each person at the table brings something .

Joy, hmm riveting and must see, the impeachment  hearings ? Hmm not in this house. If shows are preempted , we have Netflix, we have good books. I'll see the highlites. Masterpiece  theatre  better not get bumped..

I adored the clip with Kristen Bell,  picking up after her dog, that was too funny.

I've loved Jeff Goldblum,  forever. He was so damned hot in The Fly,    omg. If you haven't heard him play the piano,  give it a try, he's magnificent.

Abby, sorry have to disagree.  Annoying AF.  Ok now JG is awesome.  What a great career.  He's got a great singing voice too.  That deep baritone.  I wish his new show was on free tv.  It looks hysterical.

What gets me is who decides all that?  Is it always 15 years between?  Whats after GenZ now thats over?  Hmm now that i think about it,, the Chinese New Year, i believe is setup the same way.  Its always the year of...something, but theirs changes yearly i think, not 15 yrs.  All i remember is my yr 1964 is the year of the dragon.

Abby is the definition of white privilege and her Pollyanna views are not contributing much to the conversation as of late.

How about her statement yesterday about how ambitious Nikki Haley is, and how she hasn't seen this level of ambition since . . . Hillary Clinton.  Seriously?  You haven't seen any ambitious men out there?   Abby doesn't even realize she has internalized sexism.

Meghan said she doesn't like it when people say all Democrats are bad.  Since when?

I nearly did a spit take when Meg complained about painting all Reps or Dems with the same brush. Good grief, she is a master at assigning labels and not seeing any nuance.

Its a shame PBS won’t show the testimony in prime time. Sound bites on the nightly news won’t be the same. I remember being glued to the tv during Watergate. Didn’t all the networks carry the hearings?

Yep. She makes it obvious she hates anyone--even fellow conservatives--who don't fall in line with her entirely, in other words sell out. That's the reason for the tension between her and Abby, too, because Abby actually cares about things like principles and right and wrong. After McCain was insanely rude to Joy today, interrupting her before she even got to explain the article she was talking about, the first thing that was said when the show came back from commercial after the next topic was introduced was Abby's comment about how people should have respect for their elders and think about others instead of only themselves--Abby's version of shade.

Abby is a flake.

She has all these memorized thoughts in her little brain and talks so fast just to talk that she can't even remember.

The "talk" button is pressed and she's yapping.

Thank you! 😂 @ greatest generation

I’m not sure when the attitude toward millennials changed. @MeThinkMeNot is correct about the years. Yes, my point is to just not constantly bash all of us. 🙂

Yes, I’m a Bill fan, but he is one of the people who constantly pokes fun at millennials. I’ll admit some millennial jokes can be funny, but no one ever having anything nice to say gets old. Our generation is a lot more accepting and open-minded, but instead of getting credit for that we’re branded “crybabies  who want to cancel everything.” I hear about it a lot at work too. A lot of the times we have legitimate gripes. Not tolerating racism, sexism, and homophobia doesn’t make us crybabies or crazy liberals.

Interestingly, I found this -

Quote

PBS broadcast the Watergate hearings in their entirety during the summer of 1973. ABC, CBS and NBC rotated their live coverage. poynter.org

Today they talked about watching the hearings, but I don't think anyone explicitly said they wouldn't be doing the show.  Maybe they forgot to, since it was during this discussion that Meghan awkwardly interrupted to announce that she wouldn't be there for the next three days, and why, until Sunny brought it back to the topic at hand.

Companies do not accept resumes at the door, you would be told to apply online.  I think maybe what the Boomer's point was that you have to get out and network to get a job.  I do both.

I find Whoopi to be just ridiculous in her lecturing and pontificating.

Today, we heard once again that we won't know until we know (in regards to what will happen during the impeachment inquiry testimony).  No shit, Sherlock.

This is Meghan's quote.

There are people who have completely abandoned their conservative principles because Trump happened and they have Trump derangement system and I take umbrage that people like that go on TV and say they’ll vote for Democrats when they will abandon their policies.”

Why is it so hard for Meghan to understand that for people like Max Boot his party doesn't represent him anymore?

Having been a long time viewer, with frequent sabbaticals, I miss the days when there were adults at the table who didn't scream and that the chair at the end had a young intelligent woman (Lisa Ling) .   I have mixed feelings about putting politics in this 'current mix'  of women as it just devolves into Political Housewives drama daily.

Meghan claiming she has the correct definition of a Republican makes me think she is really a Trumper as never Trumpers are no longer welcome.
