Katie sees the group’s vacation to Mexico as a chance to reconnect with her busy husband, but ends up exploding when Schwartz takes a seat in first class without her. Still smarting from his exclusion from the trip, James makes a shocking revelation about his sobriety.

The first ten minutes of this episode -minus Kristin- was one of the funniest and most charming things I’ve seen in a long while.  The fact that Schwartz understands Sandoval’s need for grand gestures and can only respond, “I love you” is just too much.

And Stassi calling out that Schwartz gets distracted by shiny things and Sandoval- perfect timing/editing.

I feel bad for Scheana. It's obvious that she's desperate for a connection with someone and for actual affection and she goes about finding it in all the wrong ways. Every guy she's with seems annoyed by her. Yeah, she brings it on herself but it's still sad.

Of course Tom forgot to put gas in the bike.

Schwartz is a Golden Retriever in human form. When he was saying he loves gloves and goggles all I could think of is a dog that's over excited to do literally anything no matter how mundane.

I would think they would be mad if she didn’t becaise it feeds into all their ridiculously basic and cliched dreams of living a “baller” lifestyle.

However, my spouse is big and tall and needs the space.  I'm just happy not to be in the middle seat, scrunching my arms between the armrests.    And I need his hand to squeeze on take-off and during turbulence.  lol

I go back to what I said last week:  Katie needs some serious therapy to get to the bottom of her rage.  She will ruin everything she has.  If she thinks she can do better than Tom, please, please, please go find it.   Her anger is all consuming and she will never ever be happy.

It wasn’t Tom’s fault that he got upgraded.  The two seats weren’t even together.  I deal with this all the time.

We all go through tough moments in a marriage.  Grow up, Katie.

I thought it was super sweet that Sandoval actually had a "Bubba" helmet made for Katie. Not that she deserves it. 

I'm over her. She spent years complaining that Schwartz had no gumption. Now he's doing some serious work and she's unhappy with THAT. 

I get being a bit miffed about the flight situation; but she is going to ruin everyone's fucking trip over it. Including her own. And I don't believe, for one minute, that Katie would give up first class for Tom.

I needed less Bubba fighting and more Sandoval packing. That hat box???? 

Also, I'd like a spin off of Jax bitching about wedding costs. I can't help it. He cracks me up.

Did James lie?  His dad bought him a beer.  But I thought I saw the drink in Janes hand and he was explaining it was like an orange creamsicle. 

I appreciate the editors giving us context into Katie's rage.  Schwartz was horrible. Yes he's opening the bar, but most of the time it's like Katie didn't exist. At all.  Not even a see ya.  Not a I love you bubbs, but I'm so busy.  Zippo.

Both sides have valid points to the first class issue.  Stupendous Man had a horrible back and I wouldn't begrudge him.  On the other hand, Schwartz doesn't.  It's the airline's fault for not keeping couples together!

Beauzilla.  I love him.  I want him for my very own.  You're lucky Stassi that I'm old.  And he's trustworthy.  Wait.  He's more than trustworthy. 

He's sponge worthy.

And what exactly has Tom been doing with TomTom for four months that led to Katie feeling ignored?  I don't think anything that actually had anything substantial to do with the bar.  I suspect he was using it as an excuse to fart around with Tom all the time.

Katie seems to have been trying to keep  the trouble off camera and set a mental deadline of the bar opening for things to get better and Tom kept ignoring her.

Also retroactively explains why Sandoval went off on Katie last week.  He always reacts to issues between Schwartz and Katie by blowing up at Katie about how horrible she is.

Ooooh, so true.  I completely understand why Katie felt neglected at the TomTom opening but she was wrong to do so.  This really was the Toms' night and wasn't the place for her to be acknowledged by association.  Ariana seemed to understand it, Katie didn't.  An EI miss (and surprised Tom referenced it).

However, Tom was completely wrong to take the upgrade over his wife.  Completely wrong.  I've been at cross-currents with my spouse and some how we got over it (frankly I think we were too busy to get divorced and then it all seemed to work out).  This is not advice I would give to anybody but I would say a drunken vacation trip is not time to pick at the scab.  

Seems like it would be nice for them to decide to vacation privately and meet everybody else at the airport at the way back.

ETA:  Even when we were at a bad place my husband would have completely given me his upgrade.

It was a two-and-a-half hour flight. Two hours and thirty minutes that you couldn't sit next to your spouse. 150 minutes out of your entire trip, which okay, let's be generous and call it three hours just in case he was exaggerating so - 180 minutes of your entire trip that you couldn't sit there and give him a handy or whatever is so special about being crammed in a small space next to your spouse. So you're gonna bitch loud enough for everyone to hear after you rage-text him for that entire three hours and then pretend like he doesn't exist when you do finally land.

I thought so too based on the flashback footage they showed of him with his dad, but I think that Creamsicle drink footage was from a while ago and wasn’t actually the most recent meeting with his dad.

Of course in his talking head he made clear that he’d had a drink a couple days before, but talking heads are filmed later so he may not have technically lying to Lisa in that moment. Although creamsicle drink aside I don’t really believe he’s not been drinking. We just don’t have evidence if you go by what he told Lisa.

Sure, Tom could really benefit from learning some de-escalation techniques if those two are going to make their marriage last but she was the one with the issue, not Tom.

Britney's inability to not drink concerns me.  I think most of the cast would have a hard time not drinking but here she is given the choice to drink and puke her guts out or not drink and heal and she chooses to drink.

But Tom also has a ability to not be able to handle confrontation at all. I said both of them are at fault, but scwartz always gets off easy when it comes to them and that’s what I was pointing out. Katie isn’t innocent but Tom isn’t either.
