She may have been called into the office, but her scene was not shown. She may have been told to work on certain things without the scene being shown via group leader or emails Kelli sent out. I remember Angela saying she was called into the office her rookie year for weight, but her office scene was not shown. Danielle was called into the office for her weight in Season 9, and her scene was not shown. There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes we have no clue about.

If Lily herself said it was her first time in the office, I'd tend to believe it was truly her first time and not just not shown on the show.

True, but she may have told to work on things without going to the office. I do not think they let her think she was doing well without any hints to work on certain things before calling her into the office.

The best scene was when the late Megan F. told off Kelli and Judy when she was cut in Season 5. I have a hard time believing they wanted Megan in TC for a third time. I think it has Charlotte written all over it.

They get notes (the ones from Kelli's dictation) and corrections even if they don't get a formal office visit. The bonus scene in CMT shows Melissa talking to her about lack of power et cetera. I think they all knew  it was a possibility to be cut that last night. Taylor, Ashlee, Malena, Brennan, and Lily were all talking about how it could be any one of them.

One of the insiders, maybe Shelley, pointed out that What's on the show is a tiny percentage of what really goes on. K & J are apparently there just during filming and most rehearsals are run by GL and assistant choreographers. If Jennifer was asked for input it's likely because she'd seen the girls practice. It seems unlikely that was Lily's first notice there was anything wrong.  Tara was the only one that actually seemed surprised by her cut.

As far as dragging out TC, they have so much to learn that a couple months seems reasonable. Even though the drama is in the cuts, the majority of it is probably learning and practicing dances as well as learning the practicalities of being on the team such as how to behave at appearances.

Since Kelli is the executive producer of the show, she made this decision to air all the VK stuff. Gotta keep the rating up, so probably a good call on her part.  This season wasn’t my favorite at all.

That episode was epic.  I  watched it recently and good for her for speaking up. RIP Megan F

Finally watching the episode now - The look on Brennan’s and  Madeline’s faces after Malena and Lily were cut but before the team was announced really rubbed me the wrong way - it was like they knew they were at the bottom and scraped in - just smug. Ugh. 

And Brennan looked really weak dancing the final night - not to mention her awful facials, but those have always been a problem.

i felt really bad for Lily not ever being called in and just cut like that out of nowhere on the last night.  What the heck?

Poor Melena was devastated.  I get the impression she won’t come back.

Yeah - but they probably all get notes on things to work on - even girls on show group who are thought of as locks.   Although they have done cuts on the first visit, its not unrealistic to think you are safer when never called in.

Yeah - it was kind of sad seeing the fresh pre-surgery version of herself and then back to that plastic thing she’s become in the talking head - it almost looked like she couldn’t more her face properly when she was talking.  She was so much prettier before IMO.

I totally agree about Rachel’s hair being way too long.  It overpowers her beautiful face cause it’s way too much hair to look at.  Also a waste of hair product and blow dryer electricity ;).

The others didn’t look as smug as those two.  Some of the others seemed to have their excitement tempered w/ sympathy for the girls who were cut on their faces - those two just looked gleeful.   Yuck - I just really dislike them now.

Maybe it was because of one of Brennan's & Madeline's "weird" facials ("weird" in quotes because I personally do not see it on either of them).  Again, I think not one or two but all deserve the benefit of the doubt for all their hard work.

Well, this season is over. I purchased from Amazon and didn't mess with iTunes this time!

Episode 13 was better than I expected. The HD visuals of the pyrotechnics and music as the DCC made their entrance was exciting. I mean, I've seen that now a dozen+ times over the years, and this time I was like, "Wow. Here they are."

Charlotte looked strange. Is it the shaggy haircut? Or has she had (more) work done on her face? I think she's attractive the way she is naturally, so the difference kind of freaked me out.

I wasn't sad to see Lily go. I don't particularly like her look, I don't like her hair, or her style of speaking, and then her dancing was kind of blah. So yes, pare down that squad and cut her, absolutely.

I wasn't sad to see Malena go either, all though I certainly felt some sympathy for her being cut the last night. I will say that watching her cut gave me the major uncomfortables  Eek. Contrast her reaction to Tara's! So different. The "No, no, no, no, no, no, please, no, no, no, don't say it..." Eeeyikes.

That said, Malena is beautiful and would rock the uniform. Who knows? Maybe she'll come back after hitting those prep classes hard. And she needs to learn to smile on that field!

The Brennan/Kelli hug in the tunnel was a touching moment. And Lauren pouncing on Brennan with glee was precious.

Poor Jalyn! That looked painful. She was a good sport though, took it in stride. She seems to be a good sport in general.

I would love to see Cianna's hair blown out. I thin that would be a stunning look for her.

Poor Yuko! Hope she recovers fully and quickly.

Briana is fantastic. Wish we'd heard and seen more of her this season.

Ashleeeeee! I've liked her for awhile and she just keeps getting better and better. And her shoulders! Strong and gorgeous. And she's absolutely right that it's the hard work that gets you there.

Bridget's reaction, "My team, my team!" Loved it.

Caroline had one moment in the tunnel when she was hot. Most of the time she doesn't strike me as that attractive.

I loved seeing when they called their parents with the good news.

Did y'all notice the song titles behind Kelli on the white board? Seasons ago, we used to know exactly what songs they danced to. "When I Grow Up," "Glamorous," etc. Now it's harder to know that because of licensing issues or whatever. So it was great to see some of those song titles this season!

Lacey was so cute as an 18 year old!

And Kashara. She's one of a kind. She will be missed.

I think Kelli said the car accident was minor, not the concussion. It doesn't take much of an accident to cause a concussion. The airbags don't even have to go off. You just have to hit your head & the damage is done.

Yeah.  I had a similar eye infection recently and you really don’t want anyone to see you in that condition.  For her to be on camera and in front of thousands cheering really speaks volumes to her professionalism.

It's not even just about appearance, it's also really uncomfortable and distracting!

She's lucky she doesn't wear contacts, because those are the first thing to go when you get an eye infection, and I doubt Kelli would allow her on the field with glasses.

ETA I really wish that Tina would have modeled and encouraged(she may have tried, idk)  VK  to going to meet the team.

Malena's reaction was understandable. She quit her job. They kept her all season despite mistakes. She presumably thought she'd be safe since she survived this long.

The only thing I am really mad about still is Tara- that was unfair. There are still blenders and so-so dancers on this "best team ever." Tara had experience and pop even if CMT made it look otherwise.  She became defeated when she couldn't escape the bullseye and extra pressure on her (placed on her unfairly by kitty).

Kitty does not like the non-Dallas girls, end of story. Girls who have trained in other cities know she is kind of a larger fish in a smaller pond. And Kitty has no time for people who don’t throw money at her.

Please forgive me for a varying view but I respectfully disagree.  I think Brennan has become a fan favorite much as Maddie did even though Maddie doesn't have the classic Abigail Klein DCC look.

I'm embarrassed to admit how many tears I shed during this episode. From the young lady who was cut the first time being called into the office, to the montages of Lacey & Kashara. 

I'm very happy for Brennan though!

I kept thinking about how eye infections/pink eye is contagious. Jalen kept touching her eye and was all over the locker room. The whole team could have gotten it. Now that would have made a great episode!

I feel like looking at the eye chart and doing the”follow the light” thing feels a little like “oh, this is what doctors do in the movies!”,  but I assume the doctor would have pulled her if she was risking spreading it to everyone. Right!?!?

I don’t know what the attraction to Malena was. Whether it was for TV or genuine.  Such as, they only decided to highlight the dances where she made mistakes but she did good a lot of times.  Tv, yah know!

I think most girls in training camp truly believe they’re going to make the team, especially in years like this when so many positions are available. Even before Tara was cut, they had 15 rookie spots available which is almost half the team. There were originally 24 rookie TCCs which means all the TCCs know they just have to be better than 9 other TCCs to get on the team. Every time somene else got cut, that number went down. “I just can’t be in the bottom 5!”

In my opinion, the show did not use selective editing to make Malena look bad. Even in wide/group shots, I could usually spot Malena because my eye is always drawn to whoever is out of sync or making mistakes. Every time I realized jt was Malena again, I was like GIRL, get it together! I should not be noticing you this often for that reason!

Taylor is Christina 2.0. I would have cut her in a heartbeat over Lily.

If I were Lily, I would not come back. Cutting her on the last night when she’s never been in the office before suggests that there’s a reason other than dance that they don’t want her on the team. What they did to her was a slap in the face and I wouldn’t waste my time again.

Malena’s cut was unfortunate but long overdue. They should have released her before she quit her job. She can’t retain choreography and that’s not something you can teach.

How are cuts usually handled on the last night?  I can’t remember and can’t find my Apple TV remote to watch any prior seasons. It seems cruel to have those last cuts have to leave on their own.
