I got so confused about when the episode may have ended and the special started that I basically stopped watching. Were there additional scenes of the episode after the fight? I couldn't even see the previews for the next episode.

I hope they never do this format again. I'm okay with a session after the full episode, but don't pull us into and out of it like that. It wasn't that interesting, and I fast forwarded through all the interviews, including the supposed "fan favorite". (And for the record, Danielle is NOT my fan favorite, I think she is an awful person who mislead Mo, and worse, did it at the expense of her children. That Mo turned out to be awful maybe gives me a little sympathy for her, but not much else.

I was very disappointed in the entire Chantel family. Their problem is with Pedro. It is his responsibility to set the tone with his family. And honestly, they were quite rude to his family in the DR, I'm not sure how they can expect automatic respect in return? Just because they are American?

If they really want to help their daughter, maybe they should pay for 3rd party services for her, and not the private investigator. Instead, maybe pay for marriage counseling and a financial planner. And then stay out of it, unless they think she is in harms way. His sister laughing at her behind her back is rude as hell, but it doesn't need Chantel's mom to swoop in and go mama bear. Is she going to do that if Chantel gets a B in a class?

I think if they made the effort to love and accept Pedro, he would defend both them and their daughter more. But, despite his faults, I feel a little bad for him. He is isolated. He has his crazy, vindictive mom and sister on one side, and his nosy, hateful in-laws on the other, and a wife who is only half there for him. But, his mom and sister are still his family, and Chantel's family have made it quite clear that he isn't their family, so what do they expect from him?

Sorry for the long rant! Had to get it out!

Oddly enough, and I haven't seen the episode yet ..  that may actually be a thing.  Several years ago we adopted our son in Central America, and one of the things the government there required was a certificate from our Sheriff's office that we did not have any criminal record.  They were surprised, but they wrote one up.    And good heavens, I certainly was smart enough to bring the original with us.  What possible good would the original do anybody back at home ?  Oh wait - this is Nicole.

If, when I watch the episode, I see that what they were asking for was 'way different, I'll come back and correct myself.

It is indeed a document. My husband's employer here in Alabama requires an original copy of the document from our city police department and county sheriffs department on an annual basis. He has to go to each office, in person, pay $10 and get the notarized copy showing he's still not a criminal LOL This is in conjunction with his annual physical. It was a requirement upon initial hiring and that was the first time I'd ever heard of such a thing.

Of course, I think it's useless because he could have committed a crime elsewhere. It's a  10 minute drive to the next county and 40 miles east or west and you are in MS or FL.

Except they don't want to help Chantel. They want Pedro gone. That's it. They couldn't stop the wedding, so they're doing the next best thing. They are needling him and harassing him until he can't take it any more, and leaves.

And you know damn well that Mama Chantel was an utter, insufferable ass to every teacher, school administrator, coach, or any other adult who ever dared to do anything but heap fulsome praise on the family princess. Why else would Chantel always run to her parents when Pedro doesn't instantly do her bidding?

So true. Mama Chantel will not be happy until precious baby marries a doctor, lawyer, banker, or some other rich male. Maybe then, it will be good enough.

After getting a look at this show, few decent guys are going to want to mess with the mess that is Family Chantel.

I feel like I’m racking my brains for reasons I don’t like River, and I decided on another. I don’t remember what season it was, but I remember him referring to his parents as “mommy” and “daddy”. I hate to judge a family on their terms of endearment, but for me, I find it borderline creepy when adults refer to their parents as mommy and daddy. I hate his glasses too.

I always pay attention to the ads on the shows I watch to see what kind of a person the Network thinks that I am. For instance the Springer show used to have ads for renting furniture, payday loans and malpractice attorneys. I would agree with you that based on the ads the target demographic is not straight young men.

I'm in Canada - nothing he said was bleeped.  Antonio said David was planning on returning to Thailand all along.  The woman host shut him down immediately.

Most of this is fake or staged - although that fight was darn real.  The producers prompted them to argue... and paper plates suggest they were expecting something... but it truly did get out of hand and camera guys had to intervene.

I hope there are complaints about the 'live after show'.  It was boring.  Even frauded Danniele  was boring.

Omg that after show was terrible.  They never did that before.  What's up with that?  These after shows are all fillers.  The teen mom one is even worse than this one!

David and Annie-David is seriously the laziest man on the planet because he does not want to take a $10 job at a storage facility and must get a master’s degree job, I feel terrible for Annie but Annie is so cute when she cusses! I wish I could take Annie away from David and spoil her and make her happy like David could not do and that storage room looks like a classroom and I do not blame Annie for not wanting to stay there!

A close relative has a degree and loads of experience in high-end business, but when he aged out of the market, he semi-retired and took a part time job at Wal-Mart to supplement SS. What makes David think he is so special?

Actually, that rental space was not nearly as bad as I had envisioned. Of course it looked like an empty boardroom, but the bathroom was nice and the kitchen was sort of cute. Hey, they don't have options. Buy her an Instant Pot, a rice cooker and a hot plate, and I bet she could go to town. But there, her attitude was not so hot.

I cannot believe that Annie is actually surprised by her American Lifestyle...when they were in Thailand she bitched about how he have no money, knew that Chris was giving David money, etc...why would she think her live would be easy in America?  David had no money in Thailand and he was going to have no money in America.  I call BS on Annie's reactions to the poverty stricken lifestyle she is living.

She/they could make money easily. Clean houses during the day, offices at night, walk dogs etc. David just expects to walk into a 100k a year job and be a big shot with his “25 yr old wife”.

Does he think people are impressed by that? He must cause he mentions it every time he meets someone.

This whole situation is so vile because Chantel LIED to her family and Pedro tried to talk her out of lying, say "No baby...tell the truth."  Neither of them put their families first but Booby, especially, lied her ass off and NOW she wants to put her family first?  Her family should have been grateful to Pedro for wanting to be truthful bu instead they point their poison arrows at him.  Now let me be clear:  He is still a total tool who has been putting his mother and sister ahead of his wife and they should get divorced and he should head back to the DR ASAP, or just out of Atlanta!

I think the writing is on the wall regarding Pedro and Chantel. The marriage will end; Pedro will go on with his life and Chantel will be devastated forever. Unfortunately, The Titans of Industry that are Family Chantel will blame Pedro forever.

It is clear Chantel loves Pedro and trusts him. She said so to the private investigator.

When Nicole applied for and was granted a tourist Visa to go to Morocco, (twice!) wouldn't they have run a US government background check via her passport? I think the issue might be that dopey Nicole didn't understand the directions regarding what she needed to bring for the marriage license and thought, for example, 3 photocopies of her birth certificate would suffice ignoring the "original document with raised seal" part.

My point was that proving you do not have a criminal record where you currently reside by bringing an original local document is ridiculous.  She or anyone else could be 'clean" in that state and have a lengthy record in numerous others.

Nicole is sly as a fox in some ways.  Messing up on that one paper is odd. Could be she altered that document, maybe she’s hiding something?

That is what I was thinking, she probably has some criminal past that showed up on the original paperwork or something. Maybe she thought it was removed and wasn't ? She was too close to leaving and had already brought her wedding dress and decided to conveniently leave it at home, otherwise why would she have been so calm ?

If Family Chantal had any sense, they would've simply embraced Pedro from the beginning, welcomed him into the family, and done everything they could to be a support to the young couple. This is what I did with my daughter. She's 26, but 26 is more immature than it was back when I was 26. Anyway, I know that marriage is difficult, so I try to make myself available to both she and her husband, as does my husband.

Family Chantal should've just accepted the situation, and made the best of it for Chantal's sake, even though it wasn't their plan for her. Now look! It's a mess. I just hope they can mend this before little Pedros and little Chantals start arriving.

Isn't that how they started...but then they learned that Chantel LIED about Pedro's student status...and so much more.   Chantel started the problems and she continues.  Still, I think Family Pedro is worse.

Michelle Elizabeth Collins (born Michelle Elizabeth Cikk July 9, 1981) is an American comedian and talk show host. Collins came into the entertainment industry as the managing editor of VH1's bestweekever.tv, a pop culture website that tied into the series of the same name. The site earned her two Webby Awards for Best Celebrity Fan Blog. In 2010, Collins joined as a co-host on the new LOGO/VH1 show The Gossip Queens, which was also in limited syndication. She joined The View on July 13, 2015 for the 19th season as a co-host. She was let go on June 3, 2016. She is currently a co-host of Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise, an after-show for Bachelor in Paradise.   That last sentence is old news.      I thought she was good on The View; not a majority opinion, I guess.

It's very common in the south for adults to use mommy, mama, daddy, etc.  no matter how old you are.  Exceptions are mother and father, but, not that common.  It may sound odd, but, not in the south.

Yes. Like a gofundme type thing for Annie. I'm sure Chris and Nicole would support that.

No, but young women who sell their soul in hopes of gaining the American dream, with families back home expecting a steady stream of cash, would understandably be testy when their lives turn out to be anything but what they expected. I don't think anyone alive who hooked their star to the likes of David would be content right now.

Since it seems to be commonplace, I guess I try to understand the desperation that would lead someone to marry David.   On the other hand, Annie knew full well as others have posted who and what she was marrying.  I wouldn't be contributing to her gofundme.

Her parents took borrowed money, buffalos and gifts when they should of taken nothing hoping it would help her daughter instead.

Now she hates everything American. That is on her.   Nobody forced you to marry a total loser.

Do some people actually believe these young girls are actually attracted to someone like Jorge or David?    Barf

Why has no one brought up the most important issue of all? Why does Azan/Hassan get away with touching and groping May inappropriately? He holds her with his hands up her dress, strokes her body and hair and is totally creepy with her. I realize Nicole pushes a lot of that "call him daddy" BS but he is clearly grooming her to be welcoming to a man's touch. Nicole should be charged with  hild endangerment and May taken away. Where is her biological dad? He needs to step in and get custody of her.

Yikes, I will have to rewatch. Do you think it's intentionally pedophilic, or Hassan's unconscious way of coping with his extreme discomfort with and avoidance of Nicole?

I've wondered where Mae's father is during all this for a long time. It's shocking that he hasn't stepped in.  Maybe, with this tv footage, someone can get her (Mae) some help.  I don't know that there's anything inappropriate by Azan, but, the obscenity is the insanity known as Nicole and her total lack of boundaries and common sense.  She's not competent to parent a child, imo.

It seems to me that Annie was warned of David's MO multiple times.  She even saw it with her own eyes. His own children told her.  He really showed his true colors, even in Thailand.  Recall that night that he went off and embarrassed her in public.  They asked her are you sure you want to sign up for this train wreck? Yep, she did.  She had an agenda. That's for sure.  I've defended her up until now, but, to me, it's a little unfair to act all indigent about David, when she was warned plenty about David.

Do we think Annie is actually becoming a pretty good actress?   Or is David just hip to this whole plan solo and he springs it on her so at least we get her "real" reactions for the camera?   I was watching her face intently and I saw nuances of different levels of disappointment, hate, rage etc.   If David is just supposed to do all this and go back to Thailand or wherever to rinse and repeat a different version of this grifting lifestyle with or without Annie then it's clearly just a show manipulated by Chris and David for publicity.  They have the longer con in place.  The only question remains is how much does Annie know?

She's getting good at shouty, bitchy, ragey, disappointed, cussy eye daggering delivery of her lines.  FACK
