Yeah big bummer for the show.  I don't envy the young actress who will take her place.  Soap twitter is crazy.   I hope they can keep the Sprina chemistry though.

That's what you get when you don't lock young actors down.

Didn't Kimberly McCullough leave the show when she went to college? But only appeared for a short time around the Nurses Ball? Then of course the second year, she and Jason had that break up, with Jason (Burton actually emoted) FUGLY crying, and Robin left for the Sorbonne. Then Kimberly returned a year later after she was done? 3/4 done?

Oh, wait. I forgot who's running this shitshow now.

FWIW it sounds like they were willing to work around SM’s school schedule but she wanted to focus on school instead. Short of only having her pop up for the occasional guest appearances taped when she’s on a break, what could they do? It’s pretty demanding to do both and she might still be pursuing other gigs since she was steadily working outside of GH while in high school. Even a short taping day would be a couple hours, then throw in the commute in LA traffic.

That was a very different show. And Kimberly had been there forever. Also, she's white.

I remember reading that she didn't feel she was getting anything out of it - she was in the film school and the classes were covering things she already knew having basically grown up on TV.

So I was on Reddit last weekend and there was a link to an article speculating that Scotty is the stalker, mainly because Kin Shriner is retiring. I really, really hope it's nonsense. I hate the other alternatives too, so I guess there's no good way to end this stupid story.

Link to comment

I hope it's nonsense, too. Considering Kin's long history with the show, turning him  into someone who would terrorize his daughter-in-law is a rotten way to write his swan song. I know it's purely speculation at this point, but, should it be true, IMO it smacks of writers who wrote themselves into a corner being desperate to find a cheap way out.

Every time a potential suspect gets eliminated, Elizabeth and DID gets more likely.  Scotty would be the last minute shocking twist, so from a certain pov it could work. Not for me though, I started watching GH right about the time Scotty & Laura got married.

The show is blah right now.  Too bad Esme wasn't a Franco acolyte instead of Ryan. I'd happily go with her being responsible.  Makes as much sense as anything else.

I think Jeff and the "is it DID?" tease is another headfake. Liz and Finn (and Franco) are on Ryan's list after the kidney heist. I think Esme is doing it, maybe Harmony too. So I think Curtis, Jordan, Kevin and Laura need to watch their back. It also explains the sex tape plot a little more if it's also a way to hurt Cam and Liz. And it would explain why Jordan is so necessary on the canvas that they would recast her. Esme coming for that kidney, girl.

Read a spoiler that Michael is arrested related to the Wiley situation with Nina (yay!) and rejects help from Sonny because he believes he's on Nina's side and things are rocky between them for a while.  Which, whatever, as I keep saying, Michael forgave Sonny for MURDERING HIS BIO DAD so their relationship has no dramatic stakes.

I also saw something about Dr. Michael Easton approaching the Liz situation like a "medical detective".  HE IS NOT JOHN MCBAIN!

still cannot believe this baby is named Wiley smdh

Finn is now basically Dr. John McBain and has been for a pretty long time. It is very, very boring. When the character first came on he was actually a bit different and had amazing chemistry with Tracy, but they didn't pursue it, they stripped out the weirdness of the character and now he's just another Easton void. I think Finn's nice enough as a domestic pit stop for Liz, and he's not a serial killer, but I'd cut him at an early opportunity.

From the episode thread:

Quote

Harmony’s noose tightens She gets jittery when Phyllis brings up her closeness with Nina’s mama, Madeline. Alexis has invited her to live with her but when she show a familiarity with the house, Alexis becomes suspicious. Later, Harmony has a shocking flashback.

She might actually have murdered Neil.

I'm glad if they circle back to Neil's death because a drug overdose for him made absolutely no sense.

But it's weird to be throwing Harmony under the bus this way when they've spent a couple of years redeeming her.

I like Neil and liked him with Alexis. I did not like the way he died in her bed. HUH? That was totally out of the blue and totally out of character for Neil.

It is. I have problems with the character, but I really like the actress and enjoy her a lot. So I'm very much torn about this.

I guess it's possible that Cyrus ordered Harmony to kill Neil since he was holding Willow's safety over her head

Alexis is going to look like a total schmuck in this. Harmony may have murdered Neil and she lied to her face about Willow.

I think that Harmony is going to leave the show in a pine box.

I’m not sure where Neil falls into this but they’ve been bringing him up a lot so that tracks. I don’t get how all of that fits but I had been feeling like these past couple months were a set up for Alexis to be wrong about Harmony. I just assumed it was about her stealing Willow. There were too many instances of Harmony lying to her and only telling her part of the truth or another story once Alexis pretty much told her she knew she wasn’t being honest.

I just think Harmony is weird af. If Alexis is gonna go all Wendy & Lisa I'd rather she do it with someone who doesn't give me full Susan Atkins/Squeaky Fromme vibes.

Is there room in that box for Willow? Willow has become a huge waste of space with her only function to prop Michael and his family. Even Sasha is more interesting now.

Besides, as Michael's girlfriend, isn't it time for her to die already?

Not that the show will necessarily remember, but Cyrus had a panicked phone call with someone asking if Neil's OD was the doing of someone on his team -- or even their own drug -- and IIRC, the answer from the person on the other end was no.

It truly was weird the way the whole thing was dropped, so even though the Harmony thing was random, I don't mind it being revisited. I really thought we were working up to Alexis and Harmony starting a relationship.

I would never get involved with a cult leader's right hand woman. Alexis has laid down with some strange folk but that's a new one.

She only existed to be Willow’s mother, and since she’s about to hand that job over to Nina (I assume), there really is no purpose for her anymore. Sure, she’s Alexis’s friend, but we know how much this show cares about female friendships. Pine box it is.

I cannot believe they are still at it with Nina's kid. This has been a boring plot thread since before Michelle Stafford's first day, and at no point has it been worthwhile because the audience has rarely if ever been fully invested in Nina. Nelle was the most interesting option of a litter of bad choices, and she's dead. Now they're moving on to adding another with one of the most boring people on canvas.

Thank you! I knew there was something Cyrus-related, I just couldn't remember what it was.

I agree with you on principle, but I find that the show is completely allergic to writing real conflict between characters. Harmony is essentially part of three storylines right now and killing her off right after the reveals would be a tad stupid.

She better them well have a good answer for killing Neil. The only thing I can think of right now is that his death is linked to the Willow secret.

Was Alexis disbarred over Neil? I'd actually be disappointed if she got her license back and went back to lawyering bc of this. The paper thing is seriously working for me.

FWIW, this spoiler was taken from an SOD article but the part about Harmony causing Neil’s death is speculation and wasn’t mentioned in the article. However, it does make sense because I’m not sure where else they would go with Harmony knowing her way around Alexis’ house. I guess it could mean she’s been stalking Alexis but that would be even more out of the blue than her being behind Neil’s death.

If I was stuck with him on the show atm and couldn't recast or write Michael out for awhile, I'd schedule Michael and Willow's wedding for Halloween. "What?"

An alcoholism story for Michael would be good. What happens when everything stops going Golden Boy's way? What if his drinking put Wiley in danger and screwed up his plans to make Nina pay? Willow could be in denial and trying to cover for him. Carly could blame the drinking on AJ. Alexis could be his sponsor. That's a story that could pull in multiple characters.

When Michael pretended to be drunk in a scene where he was trying to get Jason out of prison in another town, Chad Duell did a pretty good job, so he could probably do it.

Some spoilery stuff I saw on Twitter:

- Three months later, Terry and Chet go on their second date on 5/9.  And apparently, stupid Amy 2.0 gets involved in their (mostly off-screen) story going forward.

- More Britt and Spencer scenes on 5/12 as he seeks out her help.

I saw that too and ugh. If they needed to give “angst” to Chet/Terry, they could have easily used the fact that he works for Sonny (he runs that boxing gym last we heard). I can’t with his annoying sister and unless they’re making her transphobic, which I doubt, what’s going to be her issue with Terry?
