I am glad that Danielle isn’t allowing her mother to manipulate her into moving back to Alabama or convincing Danielle to move to Houston to be her caretaker.

Does Lisa have her tongue pierced?  I saw something green in her mouth and thought it might be gum, but at the end I saw it again and it looked like a piercing.  I started to speculate why she might have that, but it went to an uncomfortable place, so I stopped.

I usually have a little bit, if not more, empathy for these patients- most of them were neglected, abused, or traumatized early in life. While Lisa didn't have the best early life, I can't seem to pull the tiniest shred of sympathy for her. She lies, she manipulates, she play-acts her way through every interaction without meaning a single word or attempting to act in a decent manner.  She is absolutely horrible.  I just can't understand how someone like her attracts two husbands and a boyfriend acting so despicably.  Disgusting.  The final scene where she and her daughter "pinky swore" that they were going to "do this"?  Nah. I believe that about as much as I believe in the tooth fairy.  Blech.

Good God. There are no words. Manipulative, nasty, bitch. Ugh. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was thinking there would be the BSOD saying she died. And nothing would have been lost of value. She had no redeeming qualities at all.

Yes indeed, one of the most memorable episodes yet. What a horror show is this woman. We really got to see all the histrionics and manipulation these bed bound people use to get their way.  She is like a 3 year old with the tantrums and the crying and the blaming everyone else but herself. I hope Herbert just left her for good.  I don't understand, maybe he has a lymphodema fetish.

Seriously, screw her.  She doesn't care about losing weight and just wants to have everyone serve her.  As if she ever wanted to lose weight.  Ah yes, I def cry about the fact I don't want to die and then eat fried chicken and bitch about giving up my coke.  It just pisses me off that she's using everyone around her.  Her daughter needs to run like the wind so hopefully her kids don't follow this cycle.  Just a BS filled episode.  And I think Herbert needs a brain check, because I would love to know what's going through his mind.  Sex for ice cream??  I've heard it all and I wish I didn't.

Yeah, that was a bit shocking.  Everybody cooked!  My thought was that if everybody knows how to cook... then how hard would it be to cook DECENT food?  They had a nutritionist come over to their house and go over it!  Even when Herbert smuggled junk food into the hospital - it seemed to be more like crap from the grocery store like snack cakes and ice cream bars.  They must have had to hide the wrappers fast when a nurse walked into the room, and that's how the wrappers got caught in the folds of her fat.

Lisa started with a great attitude ,but she got progressively  worse.and she turned into monster ..Dr Now knows  his patients ,they are just like drug addicts and alcoholic.Which will say or do anything to get their fix ..Lisa like all the other 600lbs  drug is abusing food,,,,and the people around her to get it...Very sad

I don't think so, I live in the South but I am from NY and I always put cheese in rice. I like to melt cheese into rice. I never actually got the idea from any one else eating it though. I mean it's two basic ingredients together. But I didn't actually see the cheese and rice she was eating, I guess it was really disgusting. I'll have to rewatch and I hope it doesnt ruin this for me.....

As not only a Southerner, but a Mobilian, I can tell you that stacks of American cheese in rice is neither a Southern nor Mobile thing I’ve ever seen. Until now.

Amen!  That plate of scrambled eggs her daughter brought her at the beginning of the episode was at least a dozen eggs.  That's the number of eggs that I make for my family when we have breakfast for dinner.  For five people.

Herbert was giving Dr. Carter major stink eye when he was introducing himself to Lisa.  Ah Herbert, you have nothing to be afraid of.  Dr. Carter, hot, young physical therapy doctor is not going to run away with your lady.  After all, he didn't bring a team of paramedics to drag her away and he probably prefers his chips fresh and crunchy, not crushed in her voluminous folds.

Herburt: I too subscribe to the idea that his alternative is sleeping on a park bench using corrugated cardboard as a blanket. He was awful. Dumb as a box of hair, bringing her chips, donuts enough to feed a classroom, pizza, etc. He's constantly trying to soothe her from her hysterics by physically restraining her in creepy ways, pawing her whole face, smooshing his head against hers, holding her wrists down and pushing them close to her chest, and pawing and sushing her some more etc. She was really shitty to him, yet he said" "we be fixin' to get married." How toxic is a "relationship" when you get sex in exchange for bringing a pizza? Sorry, I mean green beans, that's the only thing Herburt would confess to bringing her.

Her daughter cooked what looked like two whole cups of dry white rice in too small a pot, and threw some processed cheese slices on top. Lisa got to 700 lbs on the cheap.

It was hard not to laugh at her eating Froot Loops while her ramp was being reinforced.

Is all that hollering, screeching, attitude, and braying considered cute in Alabama? I got the feeling Lisa thought her behavior was cute and endearing. Personally, I just wanted to put a sock in it.

Her daughter needs the surgery too...

On Lisa's list of essential sundries were 'pads' and 'diapers' and in the hospital, she had a catheter and a urine bag. I guess she can't go to the bathroom and wallows in her own waste. Poor maggots!

Lisa whined about her stress preventing her from functioning. Functioning as what?

Good grief . Why didn't they sedate Lisa when she was having that meltdown in the hospital?  She gets to scream at the top of her lungs and everyone else in the ER has to listen to her?? 

Now she's getting really nasty towards Dr. Now.    Send her back to Alabama.

The dissonance is stunning:  On-screen Lisa acts like she's meth'd out half the time, but in the voice-overs she sounds like she's a couple of drops of IV morphine away from comatose!  I wonder if there's an element of bipolar disorder here, where we've happened to catch her on-screen on the manic side.

My God, y'all!  I just got to the point at which Herburt shows up in Houston.  I honestly thought that the rendering of his name as "Herburt" instead of "Herbert" up-thread here and on the live thread was poking fun at his dumb-as-a-stick ass.  Then the caption came on and I realized that's really how it's spelled!

Lisa said that Danielle wasn't any good at cooking grits, which normally do have cheese added to them in the South, so I'm guessing the cheese rice(ugh!) gives her a similar taste and texture.
