Wow. I never saw Will as being a victim of the killer. Maybe Gabi will give custody of Ari to Sonny so he can raise her while Gabi is in prison. After all, Sonny delivered Ari and financially supported her, and cared for her. At least Ari could still have one of her fathers.

REPORTS: Freddie Smith Returning To DAYS To Wrap Story! Guy Wilson OUT!

Courtesy/NBC
Reports from a few online outlets that have surfaced today make it look like this could be the end for Days of our Lives WilSon, literally!

First, after posting a unconfirmed rumor, Serial Scoop is now relating to its fans that Guy Wilson has departed the show and is out at the NBC soap opera.

They also go on to mention that the character of Will is going to be killed-off the canvas, and it will be happening sometime next month in October.

Meanwhile, according to Jason47′s DAYS website, Freddie Smith, who left the series as Sonny Kiriakis will be making a return next month to wrap-up his story.  This now raises speculation that Sonny might be coming back for Will’s funeral.

DAYS has not confirmed or commented on Wilson’s exit, or Smith’s return.

If these reports hold true, it would mean that the soap opera that turns 50 in November, will celebrate it without their history making duo, who had the first same-sex gay wedding between two central male characters on a daytime drama.

This is an interview that Thaao  who plays Andre Dimera had with the TV insider. He gives us some insight on what is to come.....

Andre DiMera had one of TV’s more notorious death scenes when, in 2007, he switched off his own life-support system and committed suicide—just to make it look like one of his enemies had done the deed. So how come this Days of Our Lives baddie, played by the debonair Thaao Penghlis, is back and poised to become Salem’s top crime lord? All will be revealed after Andre returns to the NBC soap September 25, a visit triggered by the declining health of Stefano (Joseph Mascolo), the DiMera patriarch. But we just couldn’t wait that long, so we got Penghlis to cough up some scoop now!

You’ve had the weirdest, wildest run in Salem. They keep firing you and killing your characters and you keep bouncing back.
I love being a disturber of the peace! This is my sixth trip to Days but I’ve never had such great writing. It’s smart, imaginative, wonderfully gothic. I didn’t expect to be asked back for the 50th anniversary but it’s been wonderful working again with Joe Mascolo. I’ve known and worked with him for nearly 40 years now and we’ve never had an argument, which is a miracle because we’re both so, well…[Laughs] argumentative. It’s great being back with Kristian Alfonso and Deidre Hall, too. Everyone’s so mature now! And, let’s face it, I’ve matured, too. As an actor, I have something to show I didn’t have before. This is the first time I’ve been hired because I’m older. Usually, as actors age, you’re replaced with younger talent. But to sit in Stefano’s chair requires experience and wisdom that only comes from having lived a while. But one thing hasn’t changed. Andre always has a lovely Armani suit. He still has his panache.

Why did the writers choose to bring back Andre, rather than his lookalike cousin, Tony?
I think they were looking to bring on a real villain, to not only create big conflict in Salem but to build up the dynasty. Stefano has had a heart attack, and it turns out that Andre is Stefano’s son [rather than his nephew]. Andre’s return to town is a very European thing to do. In the old world, the children always take care of the aging parents. Andre may be Machiavellian but he takes care of his own—and he’s very unhappy with the way some people have treated his father.

So this makes Andre and Chad brothers. How does that go over?
Well, it’s a surprise to Chad and it sets up a sort of Cain and Abel story. Chad is more favored in Stefano’s eyes and may get something Andre won’t, so it’s really great drama. Coming through the gates of NBC now, I just thank my lucky stars! People say you can’t go home again. But that’s just not true. And there have been some great changes at Days. The new executive producer, Albert Alar, is wonderful. So creative, insightful and kind, unlike some producers who like to whip and make people feel insecure. Albert is so calm and focused, it’s like they pulled a monk out of a monastery and put him in showbiz!

Your tweets from the set are certainly florid. I saw one where you were waxing enthusiastic about “The blood! The tears!”
And someone saw it and said, “Oh, dear. What happened, Thaao? Did you stub your toe?” [Laughs] I’m still new to this social media thing. It didn’t exist the last time I was on Days.

Will we find out how Andre survived suicide? And will we buy it?
The father is always behind it. The writers have really justified and explained this return well.

Didn’t you rather famously piss off James Reilly, when he was head-writing Days, and get kicked off the show as a result?
Oh, yes! There was an actor on the show who wasn’t happy that I was getting a lot of the dialogue. And one day this actor said to me, “Well, you did say that James Reilly’s scripts were s—t.” I never said any such thing! In fact, I was one of the actors who would always say the lines exactly as written. I never had to rewrite Reilly’s work to make it come off the page. So one day I was called into the office and the producer said, “James Reilly is absolutely furious! He got word that you said his scripts were s—t!” And so I knew who betrayed me.

And pretty soon you were out?
Yes. And every time Reilly came back to Days it would be, “Thaao, time to go!” And then every time he left, it was time for me to come back.

Andre has attempted to kill or kidnap half of Salem. What’s the reaction when the locals find out he’s back?
Stefano doesn’t want anyone to know Andre has returned, so he makes him stay in the house for a couple of weeks. But, eventually, Andre gets bored and can’t stand it anymore and so he crashes a memorial reception for [the third] victim of the serial killer. Everybody’s like, “Whaaat?” There’s a lot of screaming and horror and panic that Andre is alive and people want to punch him. [Laughs] You could not ask for a better welcome!

So they changed Andre's parentage so that he's Stefano's son and Chad's brother.

I wonder who the upset actor was about all of Thaao's screentme to run to Reilly. Wonder if he's still on DAYS?

Oooh, I love those "super villain reveals himself, all the heroes freak the fuck out" scenes so that sounds fun.

I thought "General Hospital" wasted the fuck out of Thaao Penghlis as Victor Cassadine so I'm looking forward to seeing him here because I wasn't watching when he was on "Days".

He was great as both Andre and Tony..I am a bit disappointed that Tony will not come back..Andre being Stefano's son will explain why he has always tolerated him, even though he killed  his kids Renee and Benji..I wonder if Andre is Stefano's seventh son..I remember Stefano  is the seventh son of his father, who was also a seventh son, if I am not mistaken...

Will probably. AAAAAAAAARRRRRGH.

I'm looking forward to Andre, though. TP is great.

I think so too, A Dimera crashing a Brady funeral.. it  is going to be hard..The killer better run and not hide, Lumi is coming for you with a dash of Kate....Those 3 in particular love that boy no matter what..I remember how Kate and Sami put aside their differences, when Adrienne said the wrong thing about Will...Marlena is going to be gutted, her first grandson is going to be killed just like her twin sister Samantha....There is so much irony...

Getting rid of Will...BIG BIG mistake IMHO.

This is just so #@% Dena Higley. What is  wrong with that woman?

This is NOT how you mark 50 years - killing a legacy character who is related to just about all the families in town.

To quote Jamey Giddens/Daytime Confidential:

"Will Horton is a legacy character tied to every core family in fictional Salem U.S.A. His mother is a Brady. His dad is both a Horton and a Roberts. He's married to a Kiriakis and his stepfather was a DiMera. How the freak does killing him off help this soap say 'Happy 50th Anniversary?' "

An anniversary didn't stop GH from killing a Quartermaine, spending the episode tracking the romantic relationship of the people who murdered him/ruined his life, and then ended with a "Happy Anniversary GH!" title card.  #haaate

Look at Lumi and their boy, this is going to hurt like hell, when the time comes..I feel like Lucas will be marginalized even more than he already is..Ally should be coming back, instead of Claire....I don't know why the show does not use Bryan more...I will cry like a baby when Lucas mourns his boy...He fought so hard and so long for his rightful place in his son's life...

So apparently, in SOD, it's revealed that Chad rescues Marlena from an attack by the Necktie Killer, not Will as many theorized.  Marlena loses consciousness and wakes up to find Chad standing over her, which again throws suspicion on to him.

I think that there might be a backlash over this...What was the point of Wilson, if you were going to trash them in such a despicable manner and then kill off Will a legacy child who is connected to the Horton family, the first family of Salem...The show should be adding more Hortons to the show and not killing them off. The Hortons should have more of a presence on the show. Where are Sarah, Melissa, Nathan,Jeremy, Mike ,Marie, and Bill. They should be on the show on some level driving stories. Zack and Nick are dead Hortons and now Will..There is something wrong with that...This is not how you celebrate the 50th anniversary by killing off Alice Horton's great-grandson...Lucas is going to be marginalized even more after Will's demise. For some reason, the show does not want to make Lucas a prominent character in Salem..This is just so awful on so many levels....

Maybe?  I didn't get that impression, he was mostly a talk-to.

Given how his tenure as soap's worst journalist has ruined various aspects of his life, it getting him killed kinda amuses me.

The Soap Confidential guy had it dead on. I am beyond disgusted at this. I know it's a tv show but this makes the baby Jesus cry.

I do see both points of view.  For months, we've watched Will being the crappiest journalist to ever work on a fictional magazine and yet everyone in his life tells him how awesome is.  The fact that he might get killed being the crappy writer he is actually has some gorgeous irony,

On the other hand, Will's dying horribly will resonate with practically everyone in Salem and while that will bring every Brady, Horton, Kirakis and DiMera together, it will also devastate his parents, grandparents and especially his daughter. I guess that's the reason Gabi was sprung out of the clink.

Heaven knows I'm not a Will Horton fan-at least, not Guy Wilson's version of him-and I'm glad Wilson's been fired, but killing him off is a big mistake. Will should be recast & WilSon shouldn't get back together, but murdering such an important, groundbreaking ( part of the first gay male wedding/marriage in daytime soap history)  legacy character in cold blood is going to have huge repercussions and not in a good way, by a long shot.

It's DAYS, last time there was a serial killer everyone ended up alive at the end. While EJ is dead, it's also possible he's not. Same with Kristen. They can easily have Stefano or someone take Will's body stolen from the morgue and injected with something and then when they're ready to recast he returns.

Andre's back, last we saw of him he was dead.

I'm not a GW portrayal of Will fan, nor am I an as written post wedding Will fan....but he should definitely NOT be killed. Put him in a coma. Wait a bit. Rescast. Keep him away from Sonny a bit. together? Not together? Whatever. Just DO NOT kill Will Horton. Stupid.

It's going to get viewers and good storylines from all the fallout of having all the core characters involved and mourning but it's CHEAP!

Just like ending Haiden to prop up a TEMPORARY Bo return. There is no payoff in that. Temporary at best.

As much as I don't like this current version of Will - I'm sad to find out that he's going to die - I hate to see a legacy child (especially Sami & Lucas' first born) die.     I'll hate if they keep Paul around but get rid of Will.

Yeah, I'm not feeling Paul. I hate it when shows use something like a character's sexual orientation or actor's ethnicity for publicity and then trash and marginalize them as soon as they're no longer headline news. I'm still waiting to see what's important or interesting about Paul. He started off with potential, but his mother was annoying, his parentage was a retcon, and his love life has been nasty (sleeping with one married man AND his husband? Cripes!)

I'm kind of processing the Will thing. It will be awfully sad seeing the town mourn him, but we probably won't see Kate/Sami/Lucas/Marlena/Paul/Sonny/Adrienne/John etc etc etc each get a big "Noooo!" scene with sobbing and lamp-throwing (god, I wish they'd stop having people trash rooms on this show. We get it. Sad is sad.) So it might not be as depressing as it sounds...

...but for an Anniversary we're getting to see Hope's heart get broken by Aiden, and possibly by Bo as well (who will come back, but only briefly), AND we get to see Will die after the show ran him into the ground needlessly...AND Stefano is ill?  ...yay...? Pass the cake?

Glad to hear Thaao is happy with the material. I'm hoping him "sitting in Stefano's chair" doesn't mean Joe is out. I'm hoping for maybe ten more months before he leaves the show...and in those months I'd like to see the EJ/Kristin returns/wrap-ups happen. Kristin barely had any scenes with Joe the last two times she returned, and his mourning of both those kids was really moving and hard. The EJ thing is going to bother me massively if they don't loop back around and tie that up.

It must be Joey, though, because Monday Steve finds the stowaway and Tuesday he tries to prove to Joey he loves his family.

Since Bo is in Cancun, wonder if we'll get some location scenes?

Wonder if Jennifer is going to slip to Clyde that Marlena is trying to help Chad regain his memories?  Or just that she knows who he is.

Still think it's too early to learn the identity of the killer.  Must be more ...

Just like ending Haiden to prop up a TEMPORARY Bo return. There is no payoff in that. Temporary at best.

Higley has stated that the plan is to pair Hope with Rafe. Since Bo is not staying, Haiden is being trashed to prop Rafe with Hope. Rafe and his portrayer are Higley pets, so the way is being cleared for him because would Rafe really stand a chance if either Bo or Aiden were his competition?

I was thinking along the same line.  Being dead on a soap usually means we're going to see plenty of crying, not necessarily that the character is actually deceased.

So the audience is going to know this far in advance who the killer is?  Interesting approach -

The whole thing sounds like a wholesale bloodbath - this is one tough area of show business (as most of it is) to be in as so many of these actors don't end up working elsewhere; maybe some on stage - must be tough to lose one of these gigs.

And, how is a 70 year old man supposed to be Stefano's son? How old is Stefano supposed to be??

Chloe and Philip have history, right?  I tried to imagine Nadia Bjorlin with JPL and I laughed.

I try to imagine JPL with anybody and I laugh.

And Paige is supposed to be Rafe and Gabi's half sister?  And they tell us this AFTER she dies?   That seems like a missed opportunity

What's the point of making her Gabi&Rafe's sister after she's dead and after Gabi's out of jail?

Indeed; why jam a retcon into the introduction of A Martinez if his unsuspected daughter is dead and KDP is leaving? Stupid.

Edited because I forgot that I was in a spoiler thread. Oops.
