Did the bed look as though it had been slept in?

It had either been slept in, or made up quickly and sloppily. I bet Chris had someone pick up a couple of pieces of furniture and a few linens. I wonder if that firehouse is even zoned for legal residence. And can you imagine the dust? (dust allergy here) Is it even a safe area for a woman to be alone? Not that Jiggy Thai Dancer could do much to defend her.

I too (CofCinci) believe Chris has a shady side and is no angel when on the road.

I cannot work up any caring about Josh and Aika, and his private parts, and her baby and material-goods obsessions. If she wasn't smart enough to suss him out before she decided to up and go there, well, she's made HER bed, anyway.

Most zoning  is zoned up from permitted uses starting from residential through industrial. As long as it meets code residential use is permitted in industrially zoned spaces even if it is often an undesirable use but industrial use is never permitted in a residentially zoned space.

But it appears they are in the middle of nowhere so there may be little to no zoning or even code.

Who brought the Hummer to the airport, how did he get the keys, why was a pile of personal junk left on the center console?

Chris has businesses with people who work for him (I love the idea of David Pour commandeering a rolling billboard--like when Michael Dukakis posed in a tank in 1988--I'm from MA). Or maybe the show crew helped out.

If Chris travels frequently to KY, he might keep his Hummer in the airport's long-term parking (or adjacent to airport to save money).  Back when I was in the Navy, many of us would use the off-site long-term airport parking to store our vehicles while we were on shorter deployments.  I think a lot of business travelers do this as well.

re: Annie and the whole "I thought everyone in America was rich" mentality. Look, I get that the US is kind of misrepresented in most movies. Even the middle class lives in McMansions and "reality" shows have these folks, who don't even work, taking expensive vacations and driving ridiculous vehicles. Still...she HAS seen a movie set in Thailand, right? She knows that not everyone in Thailand lives like ANNA AND THE KING or THE BEACH. Or BROKEDOWN PALACE. (Although, to be fair, that one is pretty realistic.) I have never been to Japan but I am smart enough to know that not everyone either lives in a shack in a fishing village or is a millionaire tech specialist leasing a $1 million flat in the middle of Tokyo, the same way that I can assume that not everyone in Australia rides horses around their ranches in the Outback. Use some common sense, people.

re: the firehouse. Am I the only one who thought it was kinda cool? Sure, it's not my dream house, but I would have a ball fixing up that quirky place and making it my own. I mean, even in Kentucky properties like that are kind of coveted for their uniqueness. People are buying up old schools, factories, warehouses, etc. to create interesting and distinctive living spaces. And I could totally do something with that pole... ;-)

David Spain would be uncomfortable talking in front of the cameras....about what exactly? There's really nothing to talk about; they are both virgins. It's not like Evelyn is gonna jump out of a bag and tell him she wants him to eat her asshole on the wedding night. She has really no point of reference to talk about anything other than:

Aaaaaaaand I just about spewed my broth all over the computer monitor. Nicely done LOL

At the risk of sounding like an old-fashioned prude, what exactly were Evelyn and David going to discuss regarding sex, when they both presumably haven't had it yet (at least with each other)?  I assume that sex is a given on the wedding night and that they each at least have a basic knowledge of anatomy, so what else is there to say really-- at least on camera? After they are married and actually have a sex life, there will be more things to discuss-- likes/dislikes, how often, etc.

I am not saying that David's reaction wasn't a little over the top or that he doesn't seem uptight, but given the circumstances, wouldn't the conversation be rather short (no pun intended)?

Lots they could/should discuss...fears, insecurities, things you've heard, things you've wondered about, physical aspect, emotional aspect, religious/spiritual aspect, birth control, children, closeness, desire, trust...

I'm saying IMHO vaginas are kind of gross looking and I wouldn't say objectively a very appealing place to stick your penis if it weren't for the whole sex drive thing. But I'm a gay man so who knows, maybe vaginas are very appealing to straight guys on an innate aesthetic level, I think it is mostly well this is where sex happens and it feels good so I'll keep doing it thing though.

Lol, I've had many gay friends tell me they are icked out by vaginas.  I'll tell you that all the men I've been with, love looking at vagina and naturally putting penis in (thank you evilyns mom). Different strokes, you know? Pun not intended... or was it?

I think David Spain acting elitest is mostly in response to Evelyn being a complete shit about his ideas on the wedding and his friends,  etc. I don't blame him for wanting to get away from that family.

David Poor and friend  are creeps!  Blurgh. I would dig the firehouse living though!

Who else is on the show?  Lol.

I didn’t understand why they had to talk about it either. Yes you do talk about birth control but otherwise in terms of sex itself you do what’s natural. Maybe afterwards like you said about likes and dislikes ( I.e. chain to the bed with a gag ball slap around and ride me hard, missionary vs. doggie, to lube or not to lube..I’m sorry did I say that out loud?).

Yes he was over the top but I would feel embarrassed as well in front of cameras.

Maybe, since he didn't want her to talk to her mom about sex, she wanted to discuss her fears and nervousness regarding intimacy with him. You know, a "I'm nervous about our wedding night but I'm excited, too. I've heard that there can be pain the first few times." Or whatever. When I stepped in and helped my long-time friend with his virginity "issue", we talked for hours about the act before we did it. He had all kinds of anxiety and fears about sex, as well as questions about things he should do (should he buy the condoms, was I on birth control, would I need lubrication, is there anything that would make me more comfortable, etc). I mean, you don't have to have a play-by-play of the act itself but I think having a conversation about sex is healthy. Since they're basically in the same boat, both virgins for religious purposes, nobody but the other is going to know exactly how they feel.

David and Evelyn: I don't think David is asexual, gay, or is repulsed by sex. I think he just feels dirty talking about it on camera. I would too, especially when you consider that he started talking to Evelyn (after seeing pics of her in a swimsuit) when she was a minor. I think their entire relationship revolves around sex. It's not like they have anything in common other than being Christians and being sexually attracted to each other, and it seems like they're just getting married so they can have sex. This is such a shame. This build-up for this wedding night sex has been ridiculous. Her lingerie shopping with Daria was quite pointless because David has 27 years of pent-up sexual frustration. Sweatpants should suffice for the wedding night because we're talking a matter of minutes, if not seconds here. They're both in for a huge disappointment (more so Evelyn). Part of David's grouchiness is probably due to sexual  frustration, so maybe he'll lighten up after the dirty deed. Let's hope so. I wouldn't be surprised if David is into attempting kinky stuff, especially if he's been a bad Christian and has been looking at internet porn. If neither one has done any research, they're in for an awkward night. I absolutely loved the gem that David gave us when he said, "You wanna talk about sex? Really?" That's been a popular saying around my household since hearing it.

David Poor and Annie GoldBaht: I love Nicole for calling David Poor's bluff. There was no reason this snake oil salesman should be in L.A. on vacation when he should be working in Kentucky and supporting his own fiance. I can't believe Nicole didn't know about the 10-year sponsorship Chris agreed to. I know Chris didn't tell her, but I learned about that watching this craptacular show. Thanks TLC! Chris has been beyond generous. I think that firehouse is a sweet setup. It's way better than my apartment and he gets to live there rent-free with an ad hummer provided for him. This is such a huge advantage that most unemployed, homeless people do not have. I definitely could see David trying to rent out the downstairs for income since he seems work averse. Seriously, what is David Poor going to do for income? Does he have any leads? I'm sure Chris will find something for him. I can't believe Annie doesn't like the fire station apartment. She is really delusional about how real Americans live and it didn't help matters for the Bahtman to take her to Chris and Nicole's house with the hot tub first. It was funny watching David Poor try to polish the turd that was the firehouse to Annie who is clearly disgusted with him. David Poor was upfront about his situation, but Annie was naive to believe that he will be able to earn enough money to support her. David Poor has pyramid scheme written all over him, but that will end up in an epic failure. He'll probably end up in the slammer. Annie GoldBaht is going to either have to find another man or the nearest Thai restaurant to support herself after the 10 years are up. She might be in for a rougher life here in the States than she had in Thailand, if she stays with David Poor.

Libby and Andreiiiiiiii-Andrei is like a breath of fresh air. It seems like all the other green card chasers on this show just want a free ride and this guy actually wants to work. Pushing up the wedding date so he can work sooner is the most logical thing I've ever seen on this show. I hate Libby's family so much, especially her dad. He clearly had some preconceived notions that Andrei would be expecting to be financially supported by him, and I think it chides him that Andrei doesn't want any involvement from him at all. Andrei is his own man. He doesn't need to ask Libby's dad's permission for her hand in marriage or for his opinion on anything. Andrei sure did pick up golf quickly. I'm sure that upset Libby's father too. He seems to want to one up Andrei every chance he gets and thinks he's superior just because he's an American, but he met his match with this Moldovan. I only hope Libby doesn't beg her dad for money to finance her dream snow white wedding. I can see daddy dick getting all self-righteous if that happened. I love watching Andrei run by the way.

Josh and Aika: I disagree with Aika. Josh getting "fixed" was the best decision he ever made. He just should've done it sooner before he could become a deadbeat dad to his kids. Josh loved the idea of Aika from afar when it was still a fantasy, but he's not liking reality too much. He's already on the hook for a $15 K vasectomy reversal and a $13 K ring and possibly a Porsche, lavish wedding, and a home of their own. He completely misrepresented himself online and sold her a bill of goods he can't possibly deliver on. I will be interested to see how Aika plays this. I don't see her going back to the Philippines, but I can't imagine her staying with this loser either.

Nicole and Azan: I can't believe Azan is still pursuing a green card with Nicole. He already has a pretty good idea of what his life will be like in America, and it's an extremely bleak picture. The family pressure to get a green card must be enormous. Maybe Azan is lazy himself. Why wouldn't he try to find a better green card opportunity than Nicole? Maybe he feels like he invested too much into Nicole not to try to make it a successful relationship, but he clearly doesn't like her and is in for a rough life in the U.S. Even if he gets away, Nicole will try to harass, stalk, and abuse him. His best move is to break up with her now while he's still in Morocco. He needs to entertain easier pathways to U.S. citizenship. Nicole needs to return to the U.S. and take care of her daughter and never procreate again.

Molly and Luis: We all saw him at the strip club. Luis is clearly not ready to give up the single life and has no interest in being a stepdad. Molly has a really bad picker and made a terrible choice for her future husband. Luis should go back to the D.R. if he isn't going to live up to his end of the business arrangement. Molly wanted a babysitter during the day and a sex partner at night in exchange for a green card, housing, and free meals. She's doing her part, but Luis has no interest in taking care of her kids. In fact, he's like her third kid. Kensley acts more mature than he does. I bet Molly regrets not seeing if Luis could get along with the kids first before agreeing to marry this clown.

EXACTLY!
In David Prude's desire not to 'sin' by discussing sex on camera, he did something far more egregious. He shamed his innocent young bride until she was wiping tears away from her eyes. He humiliated her on national TV.

He was 'training' her to know that it was wrong to express herself, and wrong to discuss her feelings, and wrong to feel okay about sex.

Methinks this guy is a real bastard.

Me also thinks I do NOT want to see him get her all by herself in Virginia without the support of her family and friends and yes, the band. She's young and she still needs these things. Moreover, David Prude is just not trustworthy. He's one mean son-of-a-bitch, and I hate to see what he would to do our princess psychologically once he gets her alone, truly alone. And her dopey parents tell her to cleave to him because he's already popped her cherry.

My guess is that Moneybags Chris bought the building which has been abandoned as a fire station for a while and is now being lived in by David Poor and Annie rent-free. Maybe the spiral staircase (and possibly a pole) are the only ways to access upstairs making it not up to current safety code so Chris can't collect rent for it. When I was a Brownie leader, we used to have our meetings upstairs in the local firehouse and it looked like a similar layout, just the basics, (but ours had a pool table, Bingo wheel, dart boards, bar, etc.) but I remember the smell of the oil from the truck bays downstairs was nauseating.

I never thought about the smell of oil from the trucks.  That's a really good point.  Personally, I loved the idea of living in the firehouse.  All I could think of was Ghostbusters!!!  (The original, of course!!)

Movies and TV inevitably depict US couples living in mansions despite wife being a housewife and hubby working in some office somewhere. There are cut flowers in vases, gorgeous furniture, a pool and emerald lawn.  It's no wonder other cultures think this is the norm in America.  To top it all, Annie's first glimpse is a mansion in LA.  So it wasn't really fair.  She should have been taken right away to the fire house apartment in Kentucky.

Anyway, it's free.  Most are struggling to find rent these days.  And do they have the use of that great big SUV?

Except for loser David, Annie's new life isn't so bad.   I think Azan is the one who'll need our sympathy once he arrives on these shores.

In my area, Mercedes are really prevalent but they're all LEASED to anyone who can make the monthly payment or by the company the person works for! Personally, I'd rather OWN a less prestigious car.

There are pros and cons to each, but I wouldn't say that someone leases a car because they can't afford to actually own one.  I've never know anyone where that's the case and I know quite a few people who lease. They just prefer to have the ability to get a new car every few years.  I don't think leasing is for me because i think there's way too much to worry about - what condition you give the vehicle back, making sure you stay within your allotment of miles, and you generally have to pay a hefty fee if you don't want to lease from the dealership when your lease is done.

A burdizzo does not castrate.

It is literally a tool used by vets and ranchers to effect either open or closed castration.

Ehhhhhhh....

I think it is the general view that people from the US that travel internationally to have more than average disposable income and they come from more cosmopolitan areas/lifestyles. It's the tale of two America's thing I think, frankly being upper-middle class and having my social circle and peer group being upper middle class as well the way a lot of the people on these shows are shown to live is frankly unrecognizable to me, I simply do not have more than a passing relationship with anyone that doesn't live in a luxury apartment or a house around or above the median home price.

It's probably a personal failing of mine but I suspect a fair amount of tourists self-select the same way.

The average Thai, let alone the average working girl in BKK, would not have seen Western movies like that. They'd be shown at Western cinemas that cater to farang and would be cost prohibitive. The movies they show on Thai TV - many are focused either on BKK/Citt-based soap operas OR village bases dramas. So no, she would not likely have seen those movies. Common sense is a relative concept if you've been reduced/forced to sell your body to men to make a meager living...

I think Chris invited them to stay longer and when Nicki found out about the 10 years, she went ballistic.  Personally, I find them all to be slimy, including Nicki.  She is a very beautiful woman, but she knows that game and is part of it.  They are all playing a dirty game.  I can't see Nicki as some sort of princess who is above the fray.  You are judged by the company you keep and Nicki married Chris and hangs with David Pour.  Nicki is part of that, as is Antonio.  I think they all wanted their 15 minutes of fame.

Nikki went ballistic? Stop swaggerjacking me.

But it's a now-defunct station. No trucks. Everything looked as clean and sterile as a hospital, really.

I was responding to MAGEMAUD who said that they had attended brownie meetings in a defunct fire house.  Apparently in that case, the smell of oil lingered.  It didn't look so clean and sterile to me.  I mean if it were clean, the bed would have at least been made.  It's hard to tell from what we've seen.  Now that it's been brought up, I can totally see the smell of gas and oil lingering.  That said, I think it could be a wonderful place to live, but there are definitely issues that could come up that I would not have considered.  I think David Pour and Annie are lucky to have a place to stay. Smell or no smell.

Yes, it looked clean but the weird thing for me was that the bed looked like someone had been sleeping there until they showed up.

If Bahtman hadn't been drunk and belligerent in the hot tub I bet Nikki would have let the happy couple stay longer, Annie could have helped with the kids and David could have well, he could have...not sure what but he could have done something to help around the house.

Nikki can't stand David Poor so it was just a matter of time. Eventually, she would be at her limit w/ him. But she really seemed to like Annie until Annie tried to rub Nikki's nose in the co-sponsor stuff. I wonder why Annie was OK to alienate her only friend.
