Have we seen Leah's "friend" before, or is she strictly there so Leah can bring in her fans for another pyramid scheme (sorry, "multi-level marketing company")?

Briana is having important conversations with her mom and sister about Nova, but they need to *stop having them in front of her*!!  She does not need to hear the unfiltered version of any of this and they can't and shouldn't expect her to be able to filter through it herself as a young child.  I know they need things to talk about in front of the cameras, but seriously, wait until she's in bed.

So much this- I appreciated that Roxanne acknowledged that Nova should have connections with her heritage and was thinking about how it was for her as a little Black Girl growing up in a non Black home but Nova was RIGHT THERE- why, oh why!

Devon looks like he's on something- he was a good lucking young man during Teen Mom 3 and now he looks rough- he's only 22.........

I LOVE THE FLOOR, JENELLE! Barb sounded really excited about the floor. Really though, she is going to lose her mind soon.

Because we don't get nap time. Haha. I hear ya, sister friend.

Too cute...she had a friend named Aubrie.

Did anyone else notice pregnant Kail not wearing a seatbelt in either car scene?

Yes, because she had a dr's excuse because she is soooo high risk with this pregnancy.

It was nice to see Leah in the car not looking and sounding like a constant hot-ass mess.

My husband, who knows this show in passing only, walked into the room and said, "woah, she doesn't look completely stoned anymore." She does seem to be doing better, but did she not learn from her Mary Kay "business"?

Did we witness a Janelle/Barb interaction that did not end in screaming! I guess once a season it can happen.

So now Leah is doing one of those makeup beauty things that I happen to see on Facebook from time to time where people talk about products and then talk about how you need to start selling said products and "join their team". That's what it sounded like. I think her stint with MK was like this too probably but I don't know.. that scene at the gym with her friend really felt like it was a "join my team and sell this never washing lip stain". Leah seemed okay tonight. I liked her scene explaining to Grace that Ali can't do everything she says she wants to do and that she tries. And I know Grace can sound like abrat but it's probably confusing to her, her sister complains that she wants to do things and then she gets tried and doesn't want to anymore.

Anyways. I don't care about Brianna. Nothing about her is compelling to me. Nor is anything in her story.

Kail is awful.

Its scary that Jace hit Barb enough to break her nose and feels no remorse. Before when Janelle asked Jace about it, I just thought he Barb a bruise, to hear he broke it was scary.

Watching Chelsea now compared to earlier years is astonishing.

Chelsea take off the fucking Carhart hat!!

I hate that hat. The way it extends above her head, it looks like a penis. Sorry.

I just noticed how Nova's dads name is spelled Devoin. I'm slow. How the hell is that pronounced Devon?

Really?! I was wondering why everyone online kept misspelling it.

I enjoy Chelsea and Cole.

I think Leah is off the "meds" and is doing much better.  I liked how she tried to explain to the other twin what was going on and that they each can have their own activities.

The turn with Jace is so unfortunate.

Kail has always been horrible and Javi thought he was special and found out he was not.  Lincoln is the cutest kid, literally, the cutest kid.

Dang the segments are so short now.

Randy agrees. Leah agrees too, she retweeted this:

I'm confused about Ali's physical therapy. I thought applying pressure to her muscles was detrimental in Ali's type of MD.

Did we see Ali standing in the backseat, out of a seatbelt and a SEAT, leaning way forwards to talk to her Mom as she was driving?? And I think they were talking about how Ali falls during the school day? <shudder>

They don't care about what the specialist recommends.

I noticed Leah threw in a little plug about her lipstick in one of last week's episodes when at the start of a scene she made a point to ask her friend/cousin/whatever if she "liked this shade." The friend/cousin/whatever was basically like "Huh? Why are we discussing your lipstick?" and I wondered if Leah would mention the whole endeavor even more in later weeks. Guess I have my answer. Ugh. Makes me a little angry when MTV allows these girls to use their screen time to promote their "businesses" which are all just BS ways to get their fans to hand over their money.

I seriously think The Coven is the worst offender on this show, when it comes to inappropriate conversations in front of the kids.

Oh, the tweets. Randy is always right there to put his two cents in when no one asked for it and Leah needs to stop with the passive aggressiveness. Maybe if the original quad were appreciative of this easy ass job they have, the producers wouldn't have had to bring in another mom to make a point. If you want to complain about abbreviated segments, direct your ire at Kail and Jenelle who refused to film with certain people, threw fits on a daily, and deliberately obfuscated part of their lives in order to pull the diva card. While adding a fifth storyline does clip the segments a bit, I am glad the producers made a power move to show who's in control of the show. It's about time.

why was she in tumbling in the first place

Our local tumbling gym offers classes for kids with unique challenges and needs so I hope this is what Ali was doing. Let's be honest, a lot of kids join activities for the sparkly bow, pretty tutu or cool jacket so I'm glad these kids have a chance to do that. I'm an adult and still want to wear sparkly things so I get it.  Much to DH's chagrin.

That's really cool. I hope it was like that as well. I'm sure part of it was wanting to do what her sister was doing.

@ghoulina I agree with most of what you say regarding the DeJesus women but not this section:

Also, did anyone else think it was kind of shitty that Nova was begging to have her hair straightened, was shot down, and then the NEXT scene Briana straightens HERS???

Briana is an adult, Nova is a child- as the parent,  the parent decides at which age xyz is allowed (happens more with girl children I think). In many families you are allowed to straighten your hair, wear makeup/nail polish, heels etc at X age.

To me that's no different than Briana telling Nova she cannot wear makeup/nail polish until she's X years old but Mommy is a grown up so she can do those things. I might not agree with the age restriction or the reasoning but I don't think it's shitty at all.

Oh, of course. I agree with that. But Nova's desire to straighten hair didn't seem to be a "be like an adult" thing, but more about her being uncomfortable with her natural hair. So the Coven was extolling the virtues of her natural hair and how awesome it was; and it just seemed a little insensitive, to me, for Brianna to have hair straightened right after that.

Ah I see, and yeah I think if Briana were more emotionally mature she would've told Nova her hair was beautiful as is, and when she's X old in their house she can make a choice to change it (if she wants), but emotionally mature and Briana don't go together. I just don't think she was attempting to make Nova feel bad.

Briana and her family are those special kinds of dumbasses who believe that small children suddenly become deaf whenever they need to discuss sensitive adult business and can't wait a few goddamn hours for the child to go to bed.  Although, to be fair, Nova is wearing those ridiculous headphones in just about every scene, so she probably doesn't hear much.  How ironic, when Briana sits beached on the couch, holding forth about what a terrible, inattentive father Devoin is (true, true) while her daughter sits across the room, eating a Lunchables and surfing the Internet with those headphones welded to her head.  Pot, meet kettle.

Only seeing your kid a handful of times in their lives, showing up 6 hours late when you DO and hardly acknowledging them vs. letting them eat a lunchable and play on an ipad?  Those things aren't really in the same hemisphere.  Now if you mentioned continually having very adult and inappropriate conversations in front of her, or continuing to get pregnant by a near stranger when you're in no position to have another child you'd be on to something, although she'd still be leagues above Devoid.

I don't think she was either. I just don't think she was thinking at all. Nova just often seems like a piece of furniture, they act like she's not there half the time.

Brianna can lose me with her "white girls can't even keep hair in a braid" comment. Um, yes we can. How about making your daughter feel better about her race without insulting others?  Also, did anyone else think it was kind of shitty that Nova was begging to have her hair straightened, was shot down, and then the NEXT scene Briana straightens HERS???

I loved the movie Good Hair and it showed the trials of black women/girls.  The movie goes into the debate of relaxing little girls hair, I believe they call it creamy crack.  Relaxing of children's hair is supposed to be a no no.

I don't get the point.  We are Italian and have all kinds of hair.  In our family we start out as blonde and it darkens in grade school.  Some have fine hair, some have curly or even nappy hair.  No one is allowed perms until after puberty as it is a health standard.  We allow girls to get perms at 16 and no dying of hair until 18 and I would not even recommend that.  I was gray in my 20s and have had to color my hair for 30 years.  It's a procedure/hair destroyer I would not want anyone to go through.  I encouraged young adults in the family to get a high gloss instead of dying their hair.

In Nova's household all the women seem to have different hair.  Hair is hair and you don't get to pick what you get.  That would be the discussion I would have with Nova.  As my sister would tell her daughter, "When you get your own place and pay your own bills, you can do what you want".

My point was - they're not telling Nova, "You're too young to straighten your hair. You can make that decision when you're older." (Which I agree with.) They're saying, "Embrace your natural hair, it's lovely just the way it is!" And then Brianna comes in the next day and has clearly straightened her curly hair. It felt a bit hypocritical, to me.

Jenelle's inability to see how she's contributed to Jace's propensity for hitting is upsetting, to say the least.  And for all the talk about David being full of rage, Nathan is downright fucking scary.  David at least seems capable of some introspection and self-awareness.  Nathan just straight up looks like he'd have a roid fueled explosion and not realize he'd beaten someone to a pulp.  He's also going to end up at a Physical Therapist if he doesn't learn how to lift weights correctly.  Just watching him made my neck hurt.

I did appreciate Leah's discussion with Gracie about her insensitivity regarding her sister's condition.  Gracie is a sweet kid but she needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.

What I don't understand is that if Chelsea knows Adam is on meth why doesn't she tell the courts that and remove any contact with Aubree at that point?  I get that Aubree loves her dad but....yikes.

I'm puzzled by Briana.  What does she do all day?  Does she have a job?  Go to school?  She's so Eeyore about everything in her life.  She doesn't seem to have any spine whatsoever when it comes to her baby daddy or her mother or her sister.  I applauded her discussion with Luis about adoption, but she's just so blah with everything.

In regards to Nova's hair, if that issue was being addressed by anyone other than the coven I would give it credibility.  The coven is so intensely dramatic/borderline psychotic that I give them zero credibility for being able to accurately perceive the reality of what prompted Nova to say she wants straight hair.   Especially when they jump to mocking white people hair.  They are so angry and hostile about everything and passing those issues on down to poor little Nova.  I have very little doubt that in 10 years we will be watching Teen Mom: The Next Generation starring Nova and her baby.   The coven will continue to grow.

Leah and that stupid Senegence Lip Sense bullshit.  Maybe it was on the Leah thread, but I told about my experience with a neighbor peddling that crap.   It was big around here about 3-4 years ago, but now everyone has moved on to Younique.  That Senegence is expensive, heavy, and harshly gaudy.   Leah has been slathering that shit on her face and lips since the first episode of this season.  That friend at the gym wasn't showing her anything new or selling Leah on anything.  That was just some weirdness cooked up by the producers.  It wouldn't surprise me if Senegence is straight up paying Leah to promote for them.  See Chelsea below.

Kail is absolute garbage.  I'm glad Lincoln colored all over her walls and Isaac didn't say anything!

Chelsea has to be working an endorsement deal with Carhartt.  The logo is just too prominently displayed on her hat and Cole's.  Carhartt probably just didn't expect her to wear their hat weirdly and make it look phallic.

Jace hitting Barb in the face is disturbing and I'm glad she has him in therapy.  When they were in Jenyell's new house, he was hitting the other kids.   I wonder if this is a new issue since the baby was born or if it has been ongoing and we are just now seeing it.

How do we know it was the next day?  It was just her next segment.  Doesn't mean it was the next day.

I'm also kind of done with this whole idea that we have to be hyper aware of how a kid views something these days.  I doubt Nova even noticed.
