I can't even offer my input for it, I have managed to steer clear of this show now, and I feel like I should have a chip for it. Oh I think it's just a reference to Cate always seeming to be in a sitting or lying position whatever she happens to be doing (like my comment about her couch going down the hill in the snow), not that anyone who goes tubing is lazy or that it's a lazy activity. Personally I prefer the plastic saucers because you can spin pretty fast and there is really little control which makes it more exciting.

Cate being lazy reminded me of a particular episode of King of Queens. I have made a King of Queens reference here before. It seems Roseanne is not the only show that fits around here. 

Doug has fantasies of other women. Carrie hates that. She writes up new fantasies for him and he better to stick to those fantasies only. Of course, the fantasies feature only Carrie, no other women. Doug reads the list of fantasies and he reads out loud how he is out horseback riding, he is in wine country, he is doing all these things in his fantasies and he yells out loud "Why am I so active? You know, I rarely get out of a chair in my fantasies."  

Maci better be prepared for the day Ryan has a child with Mackenzie, or any other partner. Bentley will need to spend Christmas morning with that sibling instead of his siblings with his mom. 

Maci mentioned Jen was talking to Bentley about him spending time with them on Christmas morning. That wouldn't be happening if Maci sat with Jen and Larry and let her feelings be known how inappropriate that is to talk to a minor child about such a thing. Maci mentioned Jen gets all emotional. Well, either Maci needs to sit there and make things clear or she needs to get a visitation schedule set in concrete. Nothing wrong with Bentley spending Christmas Eve with the grandparents. I think that is a great idea. Like I pointed out, Ryan may have a child in the future and Maci may have Bentley for Christmas Eve instead of Christmas morning. It is not just Ryan who has sat around NOT getting a visitation order. Maci is the other parent and the one with primary custody. What has she done in these 7 years so that things didn't get to this point?

Why is this solely on her?  Communication is a two way street and we haven't seen Jenn/Larry make an effort to contact Maci.  She is the primary custodial parent and they're the ones requesting a change.  As for what has she done for the last 7 years?  Raise Bentley, while his father hasn't done jack shit.

Because she is the primary custodial parent as I pointed out. She is also the one who is mentioning to the producer and the viewers how this is upsetting her and it is causing her problems. She is the one who needs to approach the people who are causing a strife. As for my pointing out what she has done in seven years, I thought it was obvious, but let me clarify. It is about what has she done in these 7 years that led Jen and Larry to believe to this day that they can call the shots, contact her about Bentley instead of Ryan contacting her, and what has she done to prevent this from happening? I haven't seen her go to court. I haven't seen her lay down the boundaries. She said once on camera to Ryan how she wishes it was him who would contact her instead of his parents, so obviously they do contact her, which is the thorn in her side right now. But then she does nothing to ensure that it is not acceptable to her. She gives in to Jen and Larry when they contact her to see Bentley.

 

Last Father's Day, Jen texted Maci and asked if she could take Bentley for that day to see Ryan. Maci gave in. Why is it so hard for Maci to set her foot down and tell these people she is no longer going to enable Ryan? She complains how they enable him, but what about her? She should have gone to court long ago and established a definitive schedule. My feeling is, Maci doesn't want to rock the boat sometimes because she knows the Edwards have been there for her and they have taken Bentley for the weekend or for a week when she wanted to go out and party with friends or have vacation time with one of her boyfriends. I think they might remind her of those times and that is what she meant when she said Jen gets emotional. I don't think Jen throws it in her face as much as she reminds Maci how much time Bentley has spent with them and it is heartbreaking for her to not have Bentley around. 

If Ryan does have medical issues, why hasn't Maci mentioned it? If he had a drug issue, I would think she would be on that in a heartbeat and keep Bentley away.

Amber - Matt "gives" her a corvette with her money? A Corvette is so cliche. What a waste of money. And they managed to take a perfectly nice tree and make it look like shit. I am so over Amber blubbering about everything. Here's a clue. Go make an ornament together. And you could tell that Leah felt bad. What a shitty thing to do to your kid. I know they thought those onesies were hysterical, but they were really stupid. Did Leah have one? If not that makes it double stupid for the adults to wear them and the kid not. 

Farrah, yes, the worst thing in the world is an HOA. So buy a ranch with a barn to put one little mini horse in. I don't believe for one second that Farrah can afford a 1.6 million dollar house. Why is she moving to San Diego and not LA? That makes no sense. And her and Simon's is the most dyfunctional dating relationship I have ever witnessed. I was lol over Cate and Tyler's trip. At least they actually did something besides couch surfing. When they first walked in the cabin ad sat down immediately to check some social media site, I was screaming "you can do that from home"!  OMG cate looks terrible for her age. She needs a trainer and a nutritionist ASAP. And yeah, for someone who has panic attacks and anxiety, she sure has no problem traveling. After my first panic attack, I barely left my house for months. I didn't fly for a year. Just the thought of walking through an airport made me dizzy and anxious. 

WTF was that weird ass cheesy riverboat restaurant that Ryan took Mackenzie to? And the guy in jeans and a t shirt escorting them to the table. Just weird. The ring was nice, props to Ryan about that. And I was tickled at Jenn and Larry's reaction. They were so excited. Mackenzie is 100% right. Ryan and Maci need to plan way ahead of time. Next week Mackenzie meets with Maci. What a bad idea!! I don't know the answer, but Ryan needs to step it up and actually talk to maci if he wants to have Bentley more. Not Jen, not Larry and not Mackenzie. She's a bitch and I'm sure she will fight, but he has to advocate for himself. If he doesn't, it won't happen.

"Have some trash, mama" was everything to me. Gary is giving Leah to Amber at noon on Christmas because she sleeps all day. I'm guessing Leah has tattled about that fuckery. 

I too was disturbed when Nova freaked out and started screaming and crying for mama. Cate hadn't looked so happy in YEARS. Every mom would at least feel a tug at the old heartstrings and not look like she couldn't wait to get off that call so she could check SM. And sit on Tyler. 

Tyler's weight is weird. I thought his body looked pretty hot in his trunks (while Cate wore the weirdly inappropriate capris - same as she wore in Puerto Rico). But his face and neck are growing by the day. 

Jen and Larry are really bugging me. It seems that Jen went out of her way to crown McKenzie the queen of all women Ryan has ever met. Why do that on camera unless it was a kick in the ribs to Maci? I've never disliked Maci. Totally on her side about holidays. They are grandparents, they need to get over it until Bentley's father wants to take action (fat chance). And I'm not sure if there's any info out there about Jen being a babysitter for Maci? The little kids go to daycare, and I've only seen Jen take Jayde ONE time.  Ryan is totally fucked up, and Mac is bizarrely old and cold. Maci has said that Ryan only shows for the cameras, so I'm guessing whatever is wrong with him isn't bothering her because Bentley is never alone with him. Ryan should go to daycare with the babies. 

Theres just not anything to even say about Farrah. I'm really wondering if she just plays for the cameras since no one she abuses ever leaves her life. Simon seems sleazy, but not desperate. Something is up with those two.

Actually, Gary said Leah would be dropped off at noon because Amber sleeps in all morning. 

Why are Maci's kids in daycare if she is home? Kinda like Cate leaving Nova with April and Jenelle using daycare for Kaiser.

My belief is Simon and Farrah are hoping to get a spin-off show where he showcases real estate and she gets her furniture store name dropped on the regular.

Agreed. Farrah is still Farrah but she doesn't grate as much as she use to. Also as far as the Simon thing goes with the ring, I get that it's kind of strange that she's now wearing the ring but if Simon told her to buy it and he would pay her back and give her a proposal, I mean it's Farrah he should have known what he was getting into. I still remember when she went with that one guy to a vintage jewelry store and was picking out engagement rings and the guy ditched her at a hotel. It's Farrah. If you say that's going to be a proposal, she's going to be waiting. But I don't know why she's sticking around with the guy now. Unless then he have some sort of arrangement for the show going on. Listen. I dislike Farrah but she does seem a bit smarter than all the other girls on this show and also I wouldn't be surprised if she plays up things for the camera.

Farrah bought her own engagement ring thinking Simon would propose. He never proposed. That's on her. As for the other guy, Daniel, Farrah walked into that vintage shop and then started discussing how she would want her engagement ring to be vintage. Daniel left Farrah at the hotel because she was being a bitch to his mother. I'd have left anyone's ass if they ever disrespected my family members. 

I wonder how long Matt leased Amber's Corvette for? He surely didn't buy it. He has no credit.

I didn't watch the show, so I'm basing this off of what I have read here, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. 

Did Cate really say that her and Tyler need to getaway once a month?! I know people who have a date night once a month (although it gets skipped some months) but who goes on a vacay every month? I'm single with no kids so if I wanted I guess I could pick up and go every month, but I don't. They don't have jobs, they don't even have their child most of the time, what are they getting away from?  Also as someone who suffers from anxiety disorder, you don't pick and choose when it happens, anxiety doesn't stay away because you are doing something fun, in fact (for me at least) it ruins times that should be fun. Just today Cate posted on twitter about how ppd is ruining her wanting to have another child, ppd is no joke, but it certainly didn't seem to effect their vacation schedule.

Well, and that's the thing, right? If you actually *do* have money, it's a topic you don't discuss. Mamber still rent their home. They skipped out on the last place. She's hounded  by the IRS and not in the Willie Nelson has potential to pay it back way.

We've not seen Jenn/Larry contact Maci about Thanksgiving of Christmas plans.  It's my belief that this could have been avoided had they done just that. Instead they told Bentley what they wanted and told Ryan to make it happen.  And yes, Maci has said repeatedly that she wished Ryan were more involved in his son's life.  Including communicating directly with her about Bentley.  That doesn't mean contacting her on behalf of Jenn/Larry and their request for visitation.   Maci can't magically make Ryan give a shit.

Maci deserved that kick to the ribs.   She talks shit about Jen's son constantly, I can't believe Jen hasn't done something like that before now.   Maci literally called Ryan a piece of shit in this episode.   There is something off with Ryan but he pays child support and does see Bentley.   I think Maci's main issue with Ryan is and has always been that she can't control him.   He shuts her out until he explodes.   

The way that Mackenzie speaks to Ryan is a better dynamic.   She doesn't seem to have that bossy bitchface attitude that Maci always has when she speaks to Ryan.   If there's one thing Maci should know by now its' that Ryan does not like that and he will do the opposite every time she tries.

Instead they told Bentley what they wanted and told Ryan to make it happen.  And yes, Maci has said repeatedly that she wished Ryan were more involved in his son's life.  Including communicating directly with her about Bentley.  That doesn't mean contacting her on behalf of Jenn/Larry and their request for visitation.   Maci can't magically make Ryan give a shit.

They told Ryan to make it happen because Maci wants Ryan to contact her, not Jen and not Larry as they have done in the past.

As for the rest, I never commented as such or implied that.

The part of this episode that stood out most to me was when they drove up to Gary's house to drop off Leah, and something about pulling up in that street, that neighborhood, and Gary's house in general just gave me the feeling of home.  Like you could instantly feel the difference of what home was in that moment compared to what Amber tries to portray as home.  It was real, comfortable, and just felt so much more right.  Of course this is after Amber blubbering about the ornament, so anything would feel better, but still.

I also think Matt has taken a turn to be a little less annoying and more realistic.  Don't get me wrong...can't stand him, but even he was like...stop crying, why are you crying, etc, etc.  I do actually think he was trying to protect Leah from having a mother that makes her feel bad in that moment.  Now him buying a Corvette with Amber's money takes away all of those kind feelings I had but I do see improvement that he isn't totally off his rocker.

God I loved that moment with a fierce strong love. Farrah swanning around, acting the lady of the manor, "oh dear yes indeed I have horses", and getting snapped back by the real estate lady, who actually owns horses and rides and isn't a poser. You could just see her simmering rage, and she couldn't wait to get out of there, lest the real estate lady who actually owns horses and rides asked her any more questions that would reveal her astonishing lack of knowledge about all things equine. I was lol over Cate and Tyler's trip. At least they actually did something besides couch surfing. When they first walked in the cabin ad sat down immediately to check some social media site, I was screaming "you can do that from home"!  OMG cate looks terrible for her age. She needs a trainer and a nutritionist ASAP. And yeah, for someone who has panic attacks and anxiety, she sure has no problem traveling. After my first panic attack, I barely left my house for months. I didn't fly for a year. Just the thought of walking through an airport made me dizzy and anxious. 

WTF was that weird ass cheesy riverboat restaurant that Ryan took Mackenzie to? And the guy in jeans and a t shirt escorting them to the table. Just weird. The ring was nice, props to Ryan about that. And I was tickled at Jenn and Larry's reaction. They were so excited. Mackenzie is 100% right. Ryan and Maci need to plan way ahead of time. Next week Mackenzie meets with Maci. What a bad idea!! I don't know the answer, but Ryan needs to step it up and actually talk to maci if he wants to have Bentley more. Not Jen, not Larry and not Mackenzie. She's a bitch and I'm sure she will fight, but he has to advocate for himself. If he doesn't, it won't happen.

The highlight was Ryan's proposal. Loved the maitre d' in the khakis and t shirt. Klassy. If Mackenzie is 20 I'm a haddock. And she always has a slightly stunned look, like she just crashed into a glass door or something. The female/male ratio down in Tennessee must be dire if she's jumping at the chance to get hitched to Ryan. I don't believe he has one redeeming quality.

The Ryan proposal to Mac HAD to be a recreation.  The RIverboat restaurant was empty, except for them.  And she seemed like she was on her second or third take, if you know what I mean.

Ryan was so strange at the diner, too.  All wide-eyed, and awkward.  These are his parents and his fiancé.  He should be at ease with them, if not the cameras.

What did you think of the scene with Farrah and Simon's friends?  EVERYONE at that table looked slimy.

Did Cate really say that her and Tyler need to getaway once a month?! I know people who have a date night once a month (although it gets skipped some months) but who goes on a vacay every month? Although why they need to make time to go on date night when they have no jobs to and are home with eachother all day anyway is beyond me.

Ugh Amber. Would it really be that difficult for her to get some supplies at a craft store and make some ornaments with Leah? No, instead she guilt trips her.

I agree with this. During they end it looked like they were filming from outside and you could see Leah hugging Emilee with Gary and Christina watching. It was such a cute moment. I definitly feel that Leah thinks of that as her real home

Amber's behavior over the ornament was so wrong, she the grown up/the parent-your 8 year old shouldn't be parenting you.  That said, I find it hard to believe that Leah is the only child in class whose parents don't live together and I would think the school would accommodate that.

I trip out on how Ryan has moments of clarity and is speaking clearly and rapidly, like he used to do, and then quickly the slow speech pattern appears. I can only describe it as a Jekyll and Hyde effect.

The way that Mackenzie speaks to Ryan is a better dynamic.   She doesn't seem to have that bossy bitchface attitude that Maci always has when she speaks to Ryan.   If there's one thing Maci should know by now its' that Ryan does not like that and he will do the opposite every time she tries.   

Ryan may pay child support but I don't think he sees his son unless or until the cameras come around (per Maci).  Maci said Beneley cries and doesn't like going to Jenn and Larry's because he's alone there with them; no Ryan, no friends, nobody but himself and his grandparents (who've acted like parents for the past 7 years).  

I understand completely where Maci is coming from.  Jenn and Larry are the grandparents and although she appreciates what they've done for her and Bentley in the past, they're grandparents and don't get choices in visitation/custody/scheduling like parents do; they take what the parents are willing to share with them.  Jenn and Larry should be mad at their son, not Maci about this.  In the past they've said they agreed with Maci about Ryan's lack of involvement in his son's life. 

I think we're just seeing Maci's frustrations because it's holiday time (when visitation squabbles happen the most in families) Bentley is older, his family has expanded and the dynamic with his siblings is more important to him now, he has his own opinions and Ryan's inability to make any changes in his parenting is becoming more obvious in the family dynamic and Maci is tired of it.  I don't blame her.   I think she's trying to light a fire to get Ryan to assume the role of parent in Bentley's life rather than Jenn and Larry doing it by talking to MacKenzie (who seems to understand what Maci is talking about), but we'll have to see if anything changes.  I have a sad feeling Ryan will never be actively involved in Bentley's life.  Although Bentley has a stepfather who gives him the attention he's missing from Ryan, nothing can ever replace what he's craving and knows he's missing from his bio father.

DOES he pay child support? Not challenging you, but I'm just not sure this has ever been confirmed. Also, he sees Bentley VERY sporadically. I remember more times of him not showing up or showing up super late than I remember fun, father-son moments.

That pairing is super weird. Ryan has always dated fairly young, thin, "hot" chicks. Mackenzie not only looks older, but just the way she dresses and carries herself, it's like she's his 6th grade teacher. So weird.
