Oh, see I see that differently - unlike the Kail situation, where she is OVER Javi in a big way, I think Amber is still in love with Gary.  She seems to flirt with him in that weird way that she flirts.  And sadly, I think Gary still has the hots for her too.  They are not a good match, so it is good they are not together, of course.  

Also, as an aside, Amber really truly looks like a fucking pig.

It looked like a family birthday party to me - we've seen Bentley have more elaborate parties with friends before, maybe that was on another day.  I imagine it's getting harder and harder for MTV to get releases to film around the kids' friends since they're getting older and their moms have reputations as such gems, it might have just been easier to film the family party instead.  The brownies just looked like they were in too big of a pan, so they were thin, but maybe Bentley prefers brownies to cake (I always hated cake and would ask for brownies every birthday).  The singing was weird, but other than that, it seemed like a nice party to me.

Farrah in the car with Sophia was like a flashback to what her conversations with Debra must have been like when she was a kid/preview of how her relationship will eventually be with Sophia.  She seems totally dead inside at this point, the bullshit about positivity is like a rehearsed statement every time.

It looked like Maci's cake didn't have baking powder or something...but who are we kidding? I'm sure she made it from a box, not scratch so it was probably sad brownies.

I was with Farrah in a weird way on her scene in the car with Sophia. Sometimes some crazy bullshit comes out of your kid's mouth and you have to both acknowledge that they didn't know what they were saying was fucked up, but also shut. that. shit. down. immediately.  And she did pretty good at not losing her shit when Sophia wouldn't get out of the car. This time. 

Also, it's hilarious that a couple of season ago, Simon said he wanted a long engagement and Farrah said "that's for ugly girls" and yet here she is, still hanging off him like a tick, a couple of years later.  If some other halfway decent dude wanted to marry her, she'd be gone in 60 seconds. But she's still around, so seems like her options in that area are limited.

We saw Catelyn using the stove in this episode so I guess she has finally learned how to google!  Also, there was a shot of Amber's bare foot at one point and it looked like a loaf of bread.

Seriously, they're not far off from this being a reality! I know a few divorced couples with kids that live within a couple blocks of each other. My co-worker bought the house next door to his ex because they share custody of their 2 daughters and they got along really well co-parenting. They both dated others after their divorce, but after about 5 years they got back together and they've been remarried now for about 2 years.

Not that I would want to see that happen with Geery and Amber, but I would love to see Amber move into Gary's neighborhood or at least near his neighborhood for Leah's sake. Amber could afford to buy a house in that neighborhood and still live within her means when the MTV money dries up. She'd be better off going to beauty school for cosmetology and hair because there's no way her clothing retail business will be successful. She is the most unorganized person, how does she think she can run a business? Plus, those clothes she sells are supposedly cheap knockoffs and poorly made by a second rate Chinese manufacturer.

I think so, I either saw it on Instagram or Twitter awhile back. I heard it's like SammyDress (aka ScammyDress), where they steal photos from high fashion manufacturers and post them as their own photos, and what they send is a very poorly made replica which somewhat resembles the original. In some cases it barely resembles the original and falls apart or badly pills after a couple washings.

Tyler, I wouldn't let Butch set the table at my house, let alone "knock out the bathroom" and get the house ready to rent. Sounds like he needs to hire a licensed contractor. 

I'm very much pro Gary but he did seem to enjoy just a little bit asking Kristina if she would be ok at the hayride and "not go apeshit".  I dont know why he would ask her that. Jerk !

Amber has no room to poke fun at Gary for anything. She looked ginormous the whole episode. 

Maci has a very high opinion of herself. Why would Caretaker McKenzie be a combo of her & Jen ?

I really feel sorry for Tyler. I think if he had dropped Cate years ago and cut Butch out he may have been able to do something with his life. I don't think people realize what a lifesuck Cate and Butch are and how tiring that must be to deal with every day. I'd be depressed as hell too. I know he has the option to leave but he just so deep down this road he probably feels like leaving Cate isn't an option.  Cate shows absolutely no empathy and is selfish as hell. 

 

Nice Che to see Sophia giving Farrah hell. Get ready for a lot more of that karma Farrah.

I would never buy any clothes from any of them. They aren't designing shit, just putting their names on shit. None have the energy to get off the couch to design anything original and why is that such a dream of all of them to have. 

Is Cate and Tyler going to design greasy food stained lived in pot smelling clothes? Amber is going to manufacture tents? Maybe she can hook up Kail with some of that, so I dont have to see her pants cutting off her circulation. They all just want to make an easy buck with no work at all because they are lazy. They should be doing like Gary and being thrifty or like Joe and V and go to school.

I have to hand it to Farrah on that topic. I think she was trying to shut down what she believed was Sophia was projecting ("negative positivity"?) but at the same time trying to be empathetic to what Sophia probably encounters on a daily basis. Farrah being Farrah used her word vomiting skills and it came out all kinds of wrong as usual. I believe the sentiment was there.

There was tons of word salad coming from Farrah but I think she was trying to explain to Sophia that her attitude was rude towards the nanny because Sophia said she didn't like her because she was old and I think she was trying to explain that someone's age doesn't matter but the word salad got in the way because then she got on a tangent. 

I'm glad Farrah has a nanny. For a few reasons. One I think there needs to be separation between she and Debra, that relantionship is toxic on both parts and Sophia is used as a pawn and two I get really uncomfortable lately when Debra is on my tv.

Agreed.  There are also about ten million quality tutorials on YouTube as to how to cut and style your bangs.  I learned how to do my bangs that way.  All that it takes is a little patience and a pair of scissors.

I agree with that. At first I thought it was odd - kid's party starts at five and given his age none of his friends? Maci couldn't go to Safeway and get him a cake?

Then juxtapositioned with Amber bitching at Gary about having a budget for Leah's party. At least Maci apparently is being practical about her Teen Mom money and the likelihood of it ending in the near future. I'm not counting out she might have had another modest party for Bentley with his friends that she didn't have filmed.

I remember once on Dr. Phil these two women wanted to open a boutique.  They thought they would have cute clothes and nice jewelry and they could admire their store while drinking wine all day.  I kid you not.  Dr. Phil had them go work for one day at a boutique and boy were their eyes opened.  I thought of this when this idea of opening stores comes up with these kids.  They have NO idea what is involved in running a business, owning a store, etc.  Makes me really angry, when there are genuine people out there who hustle, put in 18 hour days, really WORK to earn a living.

Bentley had two birthday parties.  During the first part of the ep we saw his party at the bounce house place.  There was a big cake with the trick candles and a Ninja Turtles banner and a bunch of kids.  Then later we saw Jenn wrapping something and Ryan's dad asked if she had gotten him "another gift."  I assumed the bounce house party was maybe the weekend before, and the family gathering at Macy's house was the day of his birthday?

They all want their names associated with shit so people will think they are a success. They measure success on the wrong shit. They all should have been saving and hustling this whole time to be a success. I haven't posted anything about Bentley's party only because I figured it was just a small gathering for the MTV cameras to capture. 

The whole birthday party thing reminds me of the recent season of TM2 when it was Aubree's birthday. I think it is safe to say when it comes to the kids' birthdays, they are being filmed during a time when MTV wants to capture another milestone in the lives of the kids, but filming doesn't happen on the day or the actual week of the kids' birthdays. It is also not unusual for a kid to have cake, or in this case, brownie cake, with just the immediate family members on their birthday if it happens to fall during the week, and later have a party on the weekend.

Oh - like Farrah misplaced a $65K ring. I'm thinking it was borrowed for pictures.

It looks like C&T had a real dead Marilyn newspaper framed. I guess Matt gave them tips on buying memorabilia online. I'm surprised Amber didn't get it first and hang it over the bed. 

Tyler is gaining weight in a strange way. His neck keeps getting bigger and bigger. Who knew that scrawny long neck Tyler would be cuter? I thought it looked like he was working out because his shoulders are getting so broad, but he's still thin everywhere else. But that can't be right with these two. Maybe he did build some muscle fixing up the house. I will give them credit for one thing - they seem to live frugally with their homes. They should be set with no mortgage payments, which is a huge relief in life. IF you can stand to spend your whole life in a crappy city with crappy family.  I would have taken the opportunity while there is good money to move somewhere more desirable with some work opportunities. But they don't DO anything, and there would be no April to babysit.  Sad dead end world .., and Tyler is really starting to feel it.

I actually would trust Butch to fix up the old house. He seemed to know what he was doing when he and Tyler were working on the new one. I just don't know if I'd trust him not to bring beeboppin' pals over. Did his girlfriend leave after the jail stint? Not one mention of her. 

Amber was super punchable when she was smugly making fun of Gary for having a budget and being a slumlord. Why the F would he be a slumlord? As she just sat there in her oh so classy cape and ever present bun. Sorry Jackie O ... have a few seats. The man is doing well. Not by the new "haute" standards, but for raising a nice middle classish family ... not bad. I hate to pull for people to fail, but Amber and Matt need to be taken down a few notches.

Amber acts like some freaking rags to riches goddess. It's so annoying. Yes, she has money...for now. Just like her sobriety, her new body, her clothing business, and her desire to have Boo Boo overnight, her fortune will be temporary. Matt is so damn gross. They deserve each other. Why was she trying to justify asking Gary and Xtina on the hayrack to Matt? It was like she was trying to make it sound good before Matt got pissed about it. We've never really seen Matt be upset about that kind of thing but it makes you wonder if he takes issue with it off camera.  Reminded me a little of how Janelle talks to UBT on TM2...has to immediately justify what she says to avoid retribution.

Last season or the season before, someone posted a fairly extensive explanation with links about how all these retail stores are great for laundering money. I'm not sure that's Macy's gig - but I could definitely see that for Farrah and Amber.

Am I the only one that is trying to figure out that after going on a wild spending spree for new furniture for their new house, that Amber and The Old Dude have blankets just thrown on top of the couches to cover them up? Got back from my vacay and finally got too watch. Going to try not to be too long winded. But I think the word for this episode is - AWKWARD. 

Any time Amber talks to Matt and he just zones out (no doubt imagining what big ticket item he's going to con her into buying next) - awkward! Gary and Kristina trying to hang out with Amber and Matt - awkward! 

Production hugging Butch and celebrating his being out of prison, like he's not going to be right back in there next month - awkward!

Tyler not even trying to fake how over his father and his wife he is - awkward!

Tyler's in girlfriend (in home nurse) having to pick out all of his clothes, down to his underwear - awkward! 

Farrah going right to the "M" word any time Simon says anything even remotely romantic to her - awkward! 

Sophia chasing those poor little ponies and scaring the shit out of them - awkward! 

 

Do these people ever watch themselves? They're all a hot mess.

Yea, that shit annoyed me too. And I also felt badly for Tyler in this episode. He has his own faults and I am generally not a fan, but you can see how literally exhausted he is with the two leeches in his life.

I thought the same thing. She couldn't get up and just "be" there for him? Eight thirty is generally pretty late to be in bed when you have a toddler, but she probably doesn't put Nova down until midnight. Cate is such a waste of flesh. Tyler can be a prick, but at least he appears to get up, get dressed, and do something semi-functional with his days.
