I think the bottom crust was purchased already in the tin, but the top crust was definitely rolled. The dough could have been purchased, since they had no flour in the kitchen.  Makes sense if he made two pies. Two tins would come in a package,  and prepared dough comes in a two pie shell portion.

Still an effort.  Cooking with convenience items is no sin.  Especially if you are doing it yourself for a large party.  Unless you are making pastry constantly, you don't develop those skills.  No flies on Harry.  YMMV.

Harry Hamlin impresses for a number of reasons:

1.  He does carpentry and is handy with repairs and building stuff

2.  He cooks, and by the looks of it, really knows his way around a grill

3.  He BAKES!!!  I don't care if it is with store-bought crusts or not - he actually knows he needs a rolling pin and a bit of extra flour to roll out a decent crust (even from store-bought), and he knows how to make pie filling and actually prepare a pie.

4.  He's a good actor

5.  The biggest reason he impresses - he continues to put up with his wife, who, to be honest, I think I would only be able to deal with for about 2 hours without wanting to smack her!

Oh, I agree, and no worries on explaining, LOL!! When we see him on the show, he always seems rumpled and sweaty - but, I like that, because it means that he is actually DOING work - as opposed to some other party planners, who show up on the event day, looking like they are actually a guest of the event, rather than the stager.

After Kathy Hilton took Eden to task last week calling her out on Kim being in her home (Kim claims she had never met Eden before nor been to her home) Eden switched up tactics and now claims she (at age 10) hung around 19 year old Kim all the time on the set of Tuff Turf.  I for one find it hard to believe that any production crew would allow a first time actress' 10 year old sister to hang out on the set of a movie.  I think Eden is putting herself in a position where she can claim she saw drug usage on the set.

The problem with Eden is I have counted in the last couple of weeks at least eight interviews-and some of them are extensive.  Her stories kind of evolve, she reminds me of Jon Lovitz and his character Tommy Flanagan, the pathological liar.  (Yeah, that's the ticket.)  http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/liars/n9373?snl=1 With Eden's expectations of instant bonding I expect things will blow up spectacularly for her and Kathy Hilton can save some attorneys' fees.

No she was talking about her chemical imbalance in her brain.  It seems to have a different date of onset one time it was after her father died, the next discussion was after her sister died (the sister died 10 years prior to Vidal).  Both descriptions are exactly the same she couldn't get out of bed and make it to the shower without sobbing.  She added the alcoholism lite to her resume after her father died.

I agree. I make pies around the holidays, mostly apple. I buy pre-made crusts, because I simply do not have the time to make the actual crusts, nor do I really want to. But I do peel and slice all the apples, and that takes some time right there! I think his pies look delicious and it's a lot more effort than most would do. Good for HH.

I was thinking, maybe, just maybe if you are seeing all those red flags, some are your own. 

Loved the way Kim brought up some 12 step admonitions to shut her down. Naturally, Kim and Kyle are completely baffled by Eden's intensity because they don't know what triggered it at this point.  And anyway, even very close friends should be wary of stepping in the midst of family matters.

The one thing I like about Eden, and for that she can stay for a little while, is that she plainly called Rinna out in her TH for telling her that Kyle is Kim's enabler and being at death's door and whatnot.  Rinna started this.  Had she kept her mouth shut instead of making a huge deal about it, Eden might never have said anything about Kim in the first place.  She might very well have because it seems that is why she was brought on this show, but she can stay for now until she fully calls out Rinna to Kyle and Kim.

Eileen - well, I loved her 3 years ago, last year, and continue to this year. I think she is just fierce and love most everything about her. Mostly though I confess to missing some of what she says because I am always struck by her beauty. She is simply stunning. Love her friendship with Rinna, and especially with Erika. 

Erika has completely won me over after last season where I didn't have two shits to give about her. I hate all of her performance bullshit simply because it is not interesting to me, but I love pretty much everything else about her. Girl is really charming one-on-one, which I think is when she is most comfortable. She looked absolutely amazing at the party. 

Dorit - I thought she was just charming in this episode. Showed real awareness in her conversation with Eden. I still detest her husband, but am starting to understand what the others like about Dorit. 

Rinna - love her relationship with Harry Hamlin. Love that she calls him Harry Hamlin (I have always referred to my hubby by his first and his last name). Love that they have been in their home for 30 years. It looks like a real family home. Someone is cooking in that kitchen because it is not a show kitchen, and while too cluttered for my taste (cannot stand that much stuff on my countertops), it all looks very cozy to me. Harry can make me a pie, or give me some meat any day....

Eden - what to say? I've never seen a crazier bitch on any of the HW franchises.  She makes Carlton look normal. And yes, I can see that she is going to throw Rinna under the bus next week. Fine. I get it. Rinna should have never said what she did about Kim, and certainly not about Kyle. They have every right to be mad at her for saying it. But the idea that this is why Eden is going all "Single Sober Female" on Kim and Kyle is nuts. So what that Rinna told her something in private? She didn't tell it to her in a group. I don't think she intended for Eden to become unhinged. It's all going to become about the "enabler" comment, or about how Kim is certain to die soon. Which means that Eden's true nuttiness gets forgotten. Before Rinna ever mentioned the stuff with Kyle or Kim, dopey Eden was talking about how rude Kyle was to her at her party. She was already having a "feeling" about Kyle just based on that one party. And we shouldn't forget that Kim (and Kyle) have both said that Eden freaked them out and made Kim feel defensive on that very first meeting, when she accused Kim of "attacking" Rinna. Again, all before Rinna had said the stupid shit. And she keeps going on and on about how rude Kim has been to her. WTF? Girl is crazy, girl has a dead sister that use to be friends with Kim, girl watched past seasons and knew what she wanted her narrative to be about. Too bad for Rinna she was still mad at Kim and let her loose lips get her into trouble.  

Uhhh ... isn't this exactly what happened last year when Rinna had an Eileen-assisted epiphany that Lisa had insidiously (nay, practically magically) wrangled her as a pawn in a devious salvo against both Yolanda and Kyle?  Rinna peddles an explicit fantasy about the mortality and medical/mental health issues of a woman with whom she hasn't spoken in over a year and it's all about wholesome intentions according to her and Eileen. But Lisa makes ambiguous remarks and/or ones that even Harry won't contend remembering and she's a "manipulative" supervillain capable of molding "grown-ass" fiftysomethings like putty.

I love Rinna mentioned that she's throwing a real BBQ party unlike Kyle's catered BBQ but she basically got a free caterer in her husband because it doesn't look like she did anything, lol. When I see women on TV who have no clue what to do in a kitchen, it makes me think that they either spend A LOT of money on take out or they just hide their chef/maid somewhere in the house when the cameras are around. 

I cannot stand Eden. Anyone who is truly the type of person who would do a small good deed for someone else is the type of person that does it out of pure humility and kindness with zero expectations in return. Every time Eden opens her mouth, it seems that she's really the type of person that does small good deeds just for the opportunity to acknowledge what she's done. Eden needs to lay off her damn emotional crystals because she's becoming delusional as if she's some seer than can see and feel things that others can't. You feel a certain way because you're fucking self-absorbed and expect attention. And it pisses me off to no end that this woman is talking like she's the authority on addiction and sobriety. Shut. the. fuck. up. And while I'm on my rant, stop using god damn hashtags in your blogs...that's not the point of hashtags.

Erika did well with the audition. It's been a while since I've watched an episode where Eileen didn't annoy me. Nice to know that it's still possible for her to be tolerable...as I suspected, the trick is for her to put down the bat and walk away from the horse. I hope she gave Eden her bat because I can't deal with two of them going around beating dead horses. 

I wonder if Eden is constantly interjecting and comparing Kim and Kyle to her relationship with her sister because she feels regret for cutting her sister out of her life and then having her sister die with them being on those terms. If she's going to throw Rinna under the bus, be careful not to say 'all of them' have asked you how you feel about their situation. That's obviously incorrect information. Looks like Rinna's mouth is gonna get her in trouble once again and I'm sure LVP loved that she was able to take that information back to Kyle, lol.

It looks like Harry used a pre-made pie crust for the bottom and was making the top crust from scratch. What he could've done was inverted another pre-made crust, allowed it to soften and then put it over the filling. Their house is too cluttered for my taste, but at least it's a home for living in and not simply a showplace. 

Overall, Harry seems like a laid back guy who's not overly impressed with himself. So kudos to him for that. 

If I owned that Malibu property I'd be royally pissed that my realtor used it for a personal party. I know realtors have lavish open houses where they serve food and drinks, but this way not the case.  And Mauricio can't even use the excuse that he's showcasing the property on TV because I highly doubt prospective buyers are tuning into RHoBH searching for homes for sale and besides, this was filmed last year anyway. 

I loved Kyle re-enacting Eden's awkward hugs with her Yorkie. Hilarious.  I did see the dog outside as they were leaving for the party but I believe their front yard is fenced in.

I think Erika uses the c word to get a shock, which at this point is kinda stupid. how old is she again? I wish the ladies would just ignore it.

Dorit is more bearable. I still really like Kyle and Mauricios relationship, they seem supportive and like the still love eachother. Harry and Lisa on the other hand I see no chemistry, no connection. Its weird its like they dont really know eachother I see no warmth, but maybe thats just me.
