I finished with Season 10, and have to catch up on the early part of the current season. However, I feel more comfortable discussing the evolution of the series.

No one's going to convince me that Dorit isn't a performance artist.

I wonder if Dorit is still involved with Bucca de Beppo. That always struck me as curious because it’s a chain, not particularly glam at all. My daughter had her high school graduation lunch at the one near me. It was good, but they aren’t kidding when they say it’s family style. They put a HUGE pasta dish in the middle of your table and you help yourself.

I worked, for little over a year, at a Buca di Beppo in Chicago. For a chain, their food is surprisingly good, but yeah, the portions are insane. What I loved most about that job is that the chefs would make smaller portions for the employees to take home, if they wanted food.

I was a little surprised that Dorit got a gig designing a room in that restaurant. She tends to act really pretentious, and BdB is decidedly not pretentious.

We had a really good time. Our waiter was fantastic. We got there before the lunch rush and basically had the place to ourselves.

My daughter worked at a Buca di Beppo in Minneapolis during high school. She liked it, and for me as a patron, the food was great...and I love family style and big portions with certain types of foods to take home.

But, designing one room for a single location doesn't mean much, IMO. A job redecorating the chain is a whole 'nuther story. It seemed so random that I feel Dorit did it as a way to give the owner some exposure (perhaps for an unpaid PK debt...or one of her own lawsuits or in exchange for advertising money or something).

Seriously.

PK and PK's Instagram are far mor entertaining than anything Dorit has done on her own.

Initially, in Dorit's first season, PK rubbed me the wrong way. But he's grown on me, and I tend to agree with much of when he says about the others.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley was held at gunpoint and robbed Wednesday night during an invasion at her Encino Hills home while her children, ages 7 and 5, were in the house.

She had only just returned from a trip to London, where she attended her nephew's wedding, on Tuesday night.

Three men broke into the residence, smashing through the children's classroom door, around 11pm PST while she was asleep, a source close to Kemsley told DailyMail.com

Two of the suspects walked into her bedroom while she was sleeping and she woke to them at the they end of her bed.

They grabbed her as as she begged: 'Don’t hurt my babies. Don’t kill me. I'm a mother.’

To which one of the men responded: 'Kill her.'

The intruders proceeded to ransack the house for about 20 minutes, stealing all of Kemsley's jewelry and handbags.

They did not enter the bedrooms belonging to her children.

After the intruders left, Kemsley contacted police and her husband, Paul Zeital Kemsley, who was in London at the time.

She remains at home and is reportedly 'traumatized' by the incident.

Quote

The source says her only focus during the invasion was to protect her children.

Paul is headed back to California to be with his wife.

Kemsley is expected to start filming RHOBH Thursday.

Wow! That robbery attack on Dorit is terrifying! There was some crazy foreshadowing on the reunion when Andy asked about all her clothes and jewelry and she said that she bought and owns every piece and Andy told Rinna to be careful about keeping her dresses in the detached garage because of what happened to Kyle. They showed the clip of the gift from Mauricio that was stolen in the robbery. This very obvious conspicuous consumption is a walking billboard that attracts a lot of attention and that’s why they say it is such an obvious sign of new money. It’s not protected and secured and spent on things that lose value and can be stolen. Many people with true wealth do not spend it on outrageous labels and cars, it is considered gauche and embarrassing. It is a bit of an indicator of insecurity to need to wear labels to feel good. Very wealthy people do not want attention. Unfortunately, Dorit and her items were not secure and it put her life at risk. It must have been terrifying and will change her forever going forward. I feel terribly for her and it is awful to have to have any aftermath of acute trauma on film. She should not have to go through this. It’s too private. Unfortunately, I don’t know if she can afford to take time off and go without the paycheck. If she spent less on clothes and built true financial security, she could afford to take time off if she needs to and recover from this. I mean this with sincerity and without any snark… that is lesson in this for me in reading this. The stuff doesn’t matter. It attracts attention and that is the devil of it. Focus on security with self, health, family. That is all Dorit cared about when faced with danger.

These home invaders gained access by simply breaking a window and climbing into the house. It's mind blowing to me that they don't (I'm assuming) have a security system that would light up the neighborhood and alert the security company/police. Especially considering what happened to Kyle. This is so weird. Anyway, I do feel very sorry for her. What a nightmare.

Home invasion.  More like scheduled insurance fraud.  Of course the children didn't see a thing.  Of course the robbers didn't go into the children's room.  They were specifically instructed not to.

THIS is how she can afford to buy big name, big ticket items.  By getting all her money back in an insurance claim.

This is not about liking Dorit or not....its terrible what happened to her.

Yes, why no security system ??!!! And if the robbers were indeed in the home 20 minutes, there would have been enough time for police to show up.

Holy Schmoly. All that said, I am so glad she and her kids were not hurt, and thankfully her kids were spared the trauma by being asleep.

Now: I wonder if any Housewives going forward, will be extra cautious, or even saying no to any filming, or limited filming in their homes. Think of all the wealth we've been able to see, especially the Wives' closets through the years. And we've loved the house porn. Thats why many of us tune in.

Lastly, I also was surprised, and even uncomfortable for Rinna's sake (even if I don't love her), when she filmed the dress collection housed in her garage this season. It occurred to me at the time, that it was way too accessible. And too casually displayed.

Yeah, the odds that this has happened multiple times only to women on the BH franchise is suspect.

True or False, I'm glad no one was hurt.

Are we jaded, or is our perception of members of the Fox Force Five molded by the inherent dishonesty they've displayed throughout the years?

I would think that Crystal and Rob already have very high-end security systems, as well as Kathy and Rick - they both may even have a security team on property.

I imagine that Sutton is beefing up any security she may have immediately, too.

I know we heard about Kyle's break in and theft, but didn't this also happen to Dorit previously, when they were trying to sell their old house?  I seem to remember that the robbers portrayed themselves as prospective home buyers or something like that?

I am so sorry that I am suspicious, because if this is an actual true break-in and Dorit was held at gun point, I feel awful for her.  But, past situations have made me suspicious.  Interesting that PK was not home at the time, but even though he's in London, he can get home today (Doesn't anyone know about required Covid testing to return back to the U.S.?).  My brain is going all over the place about this - places that I don't want to go, because I do want to think the best of people.  It's just interesting chain of events - Dorit announcing she owns thousands and thousands of dollars in fashion, jewelry and accessories, PK being "away" on business the night of that announcement, entrance to a multi-million dollar home in Beverly Hills by armed robbers through a broken window that doesn't trigger any type of alarm at the home or directly to the police or security firm on that same night?  Just too many coincidences for my overly-suspicious brain when it comes to PK and Dorit.  Hopefully, I am totally off base!!

ETA:  Seeing the photos in the article above, Rinna had to know that the papparazzi would be all over this - she couldn't have put something else on, so that she didn't look like a bag lady?  She looks horrible-I guess it fits the narrative of "drop everything and run to my friend's side, so I must dress to fit that narrative even though I know I look like shit. Even the Queen Bee of the Hanes' sweats is looking presentable in Adidas workout gear.

LA has always been plagued with organized robberies. One was called The Bling Ring. And the North Hollywood shootout is legendary.

Having said that, there is part of me that wonders how three of the current Wives got fleeced so easily.

The really jaded part of me thinks that this has given Dorit an actual, though fleeting, storyline.

Thank you all for making me feel that I am not alone in my cynicism.

I've been robbed multiple times as well as assaulted yet I heard this story and my immediate thought was...lie. And I feel kind of terrible bc if there's any truth to this it could haunt Dorit in ways she doesn't even understand.

Teddi is blaming this on Dana/Pam ($25,000 sunglasses), which tells me if this robbery is true then Teddi's deflecting bc Edwin totally installed Dorit's security system:

Seriously, that’s a stretch.

Also interesting that Dana Wilkey appeared in the Hulu documentary The Housewife and The Hustler.

Now I know where to hide all my jewels, in the kids room.. oh wait I don't have kids.

I haven't read the whole article because it was too long, but if this really happened, then it would be very scary. Although, like some above said, PK owes a lot of money, so I see where this could be staged, allegedly.. Why don't these people have a safe deposit box ? Do they even have them anymore lol

Exactly.  Burglars don't want to be seen, but they decided to go in the night Dorit returned?

Granted it's Teddi but Dorit has literally advertised her (not very secure looking) home for three seasons AND boasts about purchasing all her designer goods (she doesn't), but Dorit got hit bc criminals sussed out that PK named his LLC after his street and had to run to the house that very night?

Maybe my back is up about this bc they showed Kyle being gifted 'flawless diamond earrings' on WWHL during the reunion last night. It seemed like such an unnecessary venue to show how much you store in your home (and I totally think Kyle's robbery was a scam).

I was in the RH subreddit, and saw mention of Dana Wilkey. She has quite the social media presence and does podcasts about all the real RHs.

I looked at her IG and she's put Erika on blast, but also Dorit and Teddi (especially about her husband's security company that's gotten a ton of bad reviews).

I think a lot of people have them that only enable them when they leave the house.  We have had one for years that came with the house when we bought it.  We rarely used it for security (even though we paid for monitoring which included fire etc) until some dirtbags started burglarizing homes all over town.  Then we got in the habit of setting the alarm before leaving.

but I’m still not in the habit of setting it at night if my husband and I are both home ( I may start) but I think if I were perceived as a wealthy celebrity I think I would try to set it each night.

that all said, are there no cameras?  I have 14 cameras at my house.   Yes, I’m obsessed lol but I also like to look at the night life, possible storm issues, possible thieving or vandalizing scum bags as well as funny shit that happens and gets recorded, etc.

Yes it is scary if true - but like others I am suspicious because why would a burglar deliberately go into a home at night rather than wait until the occupants were gone. Kyle was burglarized when she was on vacation.

Also "allegedly" jewelry and bags were stolen. I very much doubt that Dorit has any valuable jewelry because anything flashy would be well beyond her economic means.

Designer bags are expensive but it is hard to believe that two burglars attempted this kind of extremely high risk operation in order to steal some purses.

If this is true.  Dang that's scary.  Our place is like a fortress but it's not for any of the content because that's just stuff but our lives and animals lives are worth every defense we have.  We live on a ranch in rural Texas and have game cameras all over.  Big ass dogs(Dobies and Great Pyrs) and 3 viscous Doxies.  A security system, my husband is former LE and of course we have tons of F.A.'s so someone will have to get by all of this and if they're that desperate then God help 'em because we will go down fightin!  We both grew up hunting and obviously my husband is very good with F.A.'s and he has taught me well.  We practice A LOT on our own range. We don't play around here, at all.

That being said, I tend to believe this was a setup for insurance.  I just told my husband about it and before I could finish he said it's B.S. they want insurance money. LOL

In all seriousness though I do hope this doesn’t have detrimental lasting effects on Dorit and her family and Hopefully the kids slept through the entire incident and they will increase security aspects exponentially.

All questions aside for a minute…I was a victim of a similar crime many years ago. PTSD is a very real thing and can come out of the blue and be completely paralyzing. You don’t want to set foot back in your house for a long while. All that the kids understand, probably, is that bad people came into the house and frightened Mommy. I hope Dorit has the true support of PK and her friends, and that she won’t hesitate to reach out if she needs help healing.

EDIT: But if this really turns out to be a scam…there are no words.

I so agree.

What I don’t understand is that you are in the media showing your “wealth”. How do you not have more security- alarms, etc? Makes no sense.

I don’t live in a ritzy neighborhood and our house is on a steep hill, so that gives us some protection. However, we do have a lot of items of value. We have a security system and ring cameras and doorbell.

I just don’t understand why they didn’t have a security system that actually worked that at a minimum contacted the police, especially since they were robbed before.

This is why I side eye the entire thing.
If it is true, it is awful and traumatic. But why did it actually happen?
